to sincerely thank all of you who are following this special family. You
guys are the best! Thanks for all the emails over the weeks and months.
I've done my best to respond to every one of them ... although once in a
while my replies are turned back by that ever-present "Mailer Daemon"
... whoever he is! lol

I hope you enjoy the chapter!

Chapter Thirty-six

(Tim narrates)

Last night, Josh and I had gone to bed fairly late, but not as late as our
boys. Kaiden, Ryan, David, and Carlos were still downstairs playing video
games when we turned in, and I could hear the booming bass of music through
the open bedroom windows. From all the talking and laughter, it sounded
like the older guys were having a ball out behind the barn.

Anyway, when Josh and I turned in, we were alone. But when I woke up on
Sunday morning, there was a smaller third body in bed with us. Sometime
while I was sleeping, like a little kid, Kaiden had crawled into bed
between my lover and me. And he was lying with his head on my chest, as I
opened my eyes. In the morning light, I fingered my son's thick, shaggy,
blonde hair.

Kaiden was wide-awake, and his deep brown eyes met mine. Damn, I loved him
so!

"'Morning, Dad!" he greeted me in a low voice. Kaiden's patented smile
crossed his lips, as he raked his fingers through the hairs on my belly and
below.

"'Morning, son," I answered, with a smile of my own. "Your old man needs a
kiss this morning."

"You bet!" he replied, crawling up my chest, until his lips met mine. He
rubbed his face over my whiskers, laughed, and settled in the crook of my
arm. Kaiden was growing up ... too fast ... but on that morning, he was
still my little boy. "I love you, Dad," he said, snugging-up his body as
close to mine as he could.

"You mean the world to me, Kaiden," I replied sincerely, while gently
rubbing my hand over my son's lower back. It dipped into his crack a
couple of times. "Damn, your skin is so soft."

Moments later, Kaiden rolled onto his back, trapping my hand. I gently,
but firmly, squeezed the top of a bun, causing my son to giggle, while he
twirled the hairs around my belly button with his index finger. And, at
about the same time, I noticed his man-sized dick jerk upright from between
his legs, point toward the ceiling for a moment, and fall onto his slim,
hairless stomach. Watching my son's penis come to attention, without being
touched, was an awesome sight ... but, sadly, it's one that most dads never
have the opportunity to witness.

Immediately, I began to get hard, myself ... and, of course, Kaiden
noticed. He took my burgeoning manhood in his fist, pumping it a couple of
times.

"Do you think mine will ever get this big?" he asked softly.

Nuzzling my son's hair with my chin, I answered, "Hard to say, Kaiden; it
looks like you've got a good start, though." He chuckled. "But even if
yours doesn't grow any bigger than it is right now, there are a lot of men
who would be more than happy with it!" Reaching over, I playfully flicked
Kaiden's throbbing penis.

"Yeah, I guess..." He threw his left arm over my body, rolled on top of
me, and immediately began to hump his dick against my abs, pubes, and cock.
After several intense minutes, Kaiden moaned loudly and began to shoot. As
his slime squished between us, he asked, "Are you close, Dad?"

"What do you think?" I asked, holding Kaiden's face to my breast for a
moment. I loved the special closeness Kaiden and I have always had for
each other.

He lifted his face and smiled wickedly, before sitting up and shuffling his
body to a spot over my knees. Kaiden's eyes sparkled, as he lowered his
mouth to my manhood and took the glans between his lips. He closed his
teeth around the base of my head, biting gently but firmly, while jacking
my pole. His fingers pressed downward into my loose ball sack, massaging
the part of my shaft that doesn't get much attention.

I was in heaven!

My fingers clutched at Kaiden's boyish shoulders and neck, again marveling
at his smooth skin, as he lowered his face onto my penis. He bobbed his
head and began to suck. While the feelings were intense, I think it was
the sight of my son sucking me that pushed me over the brink ... past the
point of no return. I tangled my fingers in Kaiden's unruly hair; and
unloaded into his mouth.

After my orgasm had run its course, and Kaiden had eaten his fill, he
leaned forward onto my chest. We lay in pleasant father/son silence for
quite a while, before he propped himself up on his elbows, while using my
hard chest for a shelf. Kaiden looked me in the eyes, searchingly. After
a long moment, he asked, "What's wrong with me, Dad?"

"Why ... nothing's wrong with you, Kaiden." I laughed for a moment, but
then became serious. Kaiden meant what he had just said. "Why would you
ask a question like that?"

"Well ... I mean..." He paused for a long moment. "I - I guess I never
REALLY thought Chris and I would become boyfriends. Since he's my brother
and all. But still, it hurt when he found Tyler." He paused again, and I
could guess where this was going. "You've got Josh, and now Ryan's got
Cole. Fuck ... he's even younger than me!"

Out of the corner of my eye, I could see that Josh was awake. He quietly
propped himself up on an elbow, causing Kaiden to glance in that direction,
before looking back toward my face.

"Kaiden, I wouldn't worry about that, if I were you," I answered. "You may
NEVER have a boyfriend." He looked puzzled, as I continued, "Think about
it... If I hadn't found your mom, you wouldn't be here." I gave him a
moment to consider what I'd just said. "You might meet a girl who you want
to spend your life with." I laughed. "You sure seem to notice the
cheerleaders at your games."

"Yeah, I guess," Kaiden said, with a thoughtful smile.  "But I don't know;
they make me feel all weird inside." He was quiet for a moment. "And
they're so different from us."

"That they are," I laughed. "Your mom and I were VERY different!" I
paused to remember Beth ... like I could ever forget the mother to my sons.
"But, Kaiden ... it's those differences that make women so interesting.
And they are so soft..."

"Kaiden," Josh added with a smile, "as much as I hate to admit it, your mom
and dad made an awesome couple." He leaned over and planted a kiss on my
lips.

The three of us talked about life in general for quite a while that Sunday
morning, and I think Kaiden was feeling better about himself afterwards. I
suppose Kaiden didn't REALLY know what a good-looking kid he was. The
reason Kaiden didn't have a boyfriend or girlfriend sure had nothing to do
with his appearance (he thought it was his button nose) OR his personality
... and we let him know that. Whichever lifestyle fit him best, whether he
turned out gay, straight, or bisexual ... Josh and I let him know we'd
accept him with open arms.

At one point, the conversation began to wane, and Josh asked, "Kaiden, are
you looking forward to Elitch Gardens today?"

"You bet I am!" Kaiden replied with a broad smile. Turning toward me, he
asked, "Dad, what time are we gonna leave, anyway?"

"Well, they open their gates at ten," I responded, sitting up in the bed.
I glanced at the alarm clock, which read 8:53. "I guess we'd better wake
Ryan up and get a move on!"

Kaiden hopped out of bed. "I'll get my brother and meet you guys
downstairs, right away."

"Okay," Josh said, smiling after Kaiden's energetic form, as he left our
bedroom. "Kaiden's a great kid," Josh commented in my direction, before
slipping out of bed.

"I know," I agreed, following my lover. "Some guy or gal is going to be
VERY lucky to get him."

"Or maybe he'll just decide to stick around with his dads, here on the
ranch," Josh laughed.

"That'd be all right, too ... if that's what he wants," I said, while
heading toward the bathroom. After relieving myself, I took the shortest
shower on record, put on deodorant, and brushed my teeth.

When I arrived at the kitchen, after dressing, Kaiden and Ryan were on
stools, jabbering away while they fixed bowls of cereal. They were both
dressed in board shorts, T-shirts, and flip-flops. Obviously, they were
both excited about the trip to the theme park. With a smile on his face,
Josh was standing to one side, watching our two youngest sons. I poured
myself a glass of orange juice and pulled a ripe banana from the bunch.

"I guess you guys talked to Eric at school on Friday, and he's going to be
waiting for us this morning," I commented, while sliding my legs around one
of the tall bar stools.

"Yeah," Ryan answered. "But I'm gonna call him before we leave the ranch,
anyway."

"That sounds like a plan," I said, picking up the newspaper and scanning
the front-page headlines. The same usual shit was happening in the world.
I glanced at the weather report, and it said temps this morning would be in
the upper forties with highs in the mid seventies. "Are you guys going to
take jackets with you?"

"Da-a-ad," Ryan answered in a typical teenager's patronizing voice, while
glancing out the window at the bright sunshine. "It can't be THAT cold
out!"

"Okay, okay," I laughed. "I just thought I'd ask."

Both boys thought it was a stupid question. I guess that's one major
difference between adults and kids. I would rather be comfortable, and
look a little dorky, while my sons seemed to prefer toughing it out for the
sake of appearance. Anyway, we had a quick breakfast before Ryan phoned
Eric. From what I could gather, Eric had been ready for quite a while, and
was just sitting around, waiting for us to pick him up.

I grabbed my jacket, and after hugging Josh and giving him a goodbye kiss,
we headed to town. By the time we arrived at Eric's home, the day was
already warming up.

"One of you boys run up to the door and get Eric," I requested, parking by
the curb. As Ryan unbuckled his seatbelt and ran to Eric's front door, I
slipped out of my jacket, flinging it carelessly into the passenger seat.

Kaiden snickered, and I glared at him in the rearview mirror for a brief
moment. "Okay; you two guys were right this time," I admitted with a
smile.

"What do you mean ... THIS time?" Kaiden smirked in reply. "We're ALWAYS
right about that kind of stuff!"

Maybe they were...

I glanced toward the house, where Mrs. Sparks was standing in the doorway,
watching her son and Ryan walk towards the car. She had always seemed like
a nice-enough woman to me. Still, something didn't seem quite right. When
Ryan had suggested they ask Eric to go with us, I was SO glad! I'd never
really said much about Eric to any of the boys, but Josh and I had
discussed him at great length. Both of us were VERY concerned about all
the school he missed ... and our boys had mentioned his fading bruises
several times. Maybe he WAS just clumsy, like his parents suggested
... but maybe it was something else ... something much darker. I hoped to
get to know Eric a lot better today.

"Hey, Eric!" I greeted, as the boys slipped into the back seat.

"Hi, Tim," he answered, before glancing toward his front door, which was
shut. Smiling, Eric buckled the middle seatbelt around the plaid swim
trunks that clung to his slight hips.

"How are you today?" I asked.

"Great!" he replied; and I sensed he wasn't just saying it.

We pulled away from the curb, and half an hour later, a little before
ten-thirty, I was buying tickets for the four or us at the entrance to
Elitch Gardens. I had never been to the place before, but I suppose it was
like many theme parks across the United States. It was probably very busy
during the summer months. However, it was only open on weekends during the
spring and fall. There was a sparse crowd that Sunday morning, but it
would probably build as the day wore on. Anyway, the boys wanted to stop
at one of the many roller coasters, the Twister II, first thing. There was
no line to speak of.

"Wow ... this is awesome!" Eric declared, as we walked through the maze and
right onto the coaster. He took out his inhaler and squeezed it into his
mouth.

"It sure is," Kaiden agreed. He took the rearmost seat in the last car,
next to Eric, while Ryan and I slid into the one right in front of them.

The coaster was one of those old-fashioned, wooden ones ... the kind with a
steep, and very tall first hill. For a boy who had said he didn't like
heights last summer, Ryan seemed to have conquered his fear. Or maybe, it
was just that he REALLY wanted to ride the roller coaster. The slow climb
to the top of the hill even had me feeling a little anxious, but Ryan just
chattered expectantly the whole time. The first cars topped the rise and
dropped out of sight. And seconds later, whooping, hollering, and laughing
intensely, we followed. Joining the riders in the other cars, we raised
our arms into the air as the cars dropped.

Like most wooden roller coasters, it was a rough ride. But, damn was it
ever fun! Before we knew it, the cars were pulling up to the unloading
platform. However, since there were only eight or ten people waiting to
board, the operator let us take another ride. We got to take extra rides
on a couple of other attractions before the park began to fill.

The boys hurried from ride to ride, like only middle school kids can, while
I hustled to keep up. As far as I could tell, Eric wasn't a clumsy guy
... not in the slightest. And I had tried to pay special attention to him
all morning ... not only watching his actions, but asking him questions and
listening to his answers with interest. Eric had been treating me the same
as my boys did, for quite a while, by the time we stopped for lunch. It
was about one o'clock, and the guys saw a pizza place they wanted to check
out.

We found an open-air table in the half-full restaurant and began to eat. I
thought the pizza was passable, but the boys wolfed it down.

"Eric, we're sure glad you could come with us today," I commented between
bites.

"Thanks for asking me!" he exclaimed, looking first at me, and then toward
each of my sons. "I've never been to a place like this before." He took a
long drink of his Pepsi.

Probably, a lot of kids' parents couldn't afford the admission to a place
like Elitch Gardens ... especially, if they had several children. But Eric
was an only child, and lived in a nice house in an up and coming
neighborhood. I was honestly surprised that this was his first visit.

"Well, now that you know how much fun it is, maybe you can get your dad to
bring you back, next summer ... for getting all A's and B's on your report
card, or something," I commented, as my eyes latched onto Eric's.

He glanced away, quickly, before a hurt laugh escaped his lips. "Yeah
... like THAT would ever happen..." He shook his head and looked down.
"Dad NEVER goes anywhere with me. I ... I ... I think he's ashamed of me.
And he's right to be; I'm no good at anything ... especially school
... even though I try, really hard, to please him." He whipped out his
inhaler and pressed the bottom plunger.

Disagreeing with the slight, fair-skinned boy's earlier statement, I added,
"I'm sure you're good at lots of things, Eric. But we just have to find
out what they are."

"Thanks for saying that, Tim," Eric replied, smiling wanly. "But my dad
must be right ... otherwise, why can't I ever please him?"

"Come here, son," I said, with my warmest, fatherly smile. And as Eric
slipped off of the metal patio chair and stood next to me, I tousled his
mousy brown hair, before hugging him to my side. I seemed to sense that he
craved the affection I was showing him. When I relaxed the hug, he stayed
right next to me for a long moment.

"You guys are SO lucky," Eric declared to my boys, in a soft voice, before
slowly returning to his chair.

"We know," Ryan agreed.

I could have probably spent a couple of hours, trying to show Eric some of
the parental love he obviously needed so badly. But the boys wanted to
check out the water park. We HAD worn swimsuits, after all. The water
rides were all clustered in one corner of the park, near the entrance. It
was quite a ways from where we had lunch. As we were walking in that
direction, I spied an old-fashioned carousel.

"Hey, boys ... humor your old man, and ride the carousel with me, okay?" I
asked. "There's hardly any line."

"Da-a-ad, that's for babies!" Kaiden replied, rolling his eyes and making
me feel way older than my thirty-two years.

"I'll ride with you, Tim," Eric offered.

"Thanks, son," I smiled towards Eric.

I doubt if any of the boys really wanted to ride the merry-go-round, but
all four of us got on it. As we were climbing onto the horses, I overheard
Eric telling Ryan how much he liked it when I called him son. It seemed
his dad never called him that. And I smiled to myself, when Ryan answered
that I was 'just like that'. Maybe you can imagine what I felt, when Ryan
added, "Tim's an awesome dad."

"I can tell," Eric answered ... but he looked sad when he said it.

After the ride ended, we walked the few steps to the entrance to the Island
Kingdom Water Park. Even though the sun was shining brightly, and the day
had warmed quite a bit, the water rides weren't nearly as crowded as they
probably would be on a hot summer day. I collected our shirts and my
wallet, placing all of them in a small locker. After dropping in a few
quarters, I keyed a short combination into it, and we were off.

As we were walking to Edge, a giant water slide, I noticed three or four
almost faded, greenish-yellow bruises on the right side of Eric's body
... front and back.

"What happened there, Eric?" I asked kindly, pointing out one of the large
bruises.

"Um ... I fell out of bed one night last week, and hit the nightstand," he
replied offhandedly. Then he added, "I'm always doing something dumb, like
that."

I wondered if he slept on a top bunk, and how he got bruises on both his
front and back side ... but I didn't say more ... at least, not then.

All three boys had the time of their lives on the water attractions and
rides. And I have to admit, I was having a ball, myself. The crowd had
swollen to what I'd call a comfortable level by mid-afternoon. But we
still didn't have to wait in line for more than ten or fifteen minutes on
any of the rides. It must have been our third time floating Castaway Creek
... Eric was sitting right next to me ... when I wrapped my arm around his
naked, boyish shoulders, pulling him close to my side. My fingers lingered
a moment over one of his bruises.

"How did you REALLY get these, Eric?" I asked in a concerned, but kindly
voice.

A look of almost terror crossed the boy's face. "Mom was afraid you might
ask," he finally said.

"Did your MOM do it to you?" There, I finally said what had been on my
mind all day.

Eric shook his head. "No," he replied, as a large wave washed over us.
After a brief pause to wipe the water out of our eyes, he continued, "I
... I fell..."

"What REALLY happened, Eric?" I asked firmly. "We both know you didn't get
these by falling out of bed."

Eric's shoulders slumped resignedly; he paused for several moments. In
fact, we were nearing the end of the ride before he spoke. "I deserved
it," he stated emphatically. "My dad said I deserved it, so I must have
done something wrong." He sucked his inhaler a couple of times.

The ride ended and the four of us climbed out of the large, circular raft.
Kaiden and Ryan hadn't said anything as Eric divulged his awful secret. So
it was Eric's DAD who had abused him! If there is one thing I can't abide,
it's a grown man who takes advantage of his child. There is no lower form
of life on earth! And how could a mother allow such a thing to happen?

"What am I gonna do now?" Eric asked, in a tone of voice bordering on
terror, as soon as we were on dry ground.

Ryan, wet hair plastered to his forehead and neck, wrapped his arm around
Eric's shoulder. "Don't worry, Eric, Dad will help you. You can trust
him." Then, in a couple of sentences ... as only a boy can do ... Ryan
told Eric about his life before coming to the ranch. In fifteen seconds,
Ryan had created a special bond with Eric, and his earlier words suddenly
took on new meaning.

In the midst of a crowd of people, the three boys hugged. Quite a few
people were staring at them ... but the boys were lost in their own world.
We found a bench off the beaten path, sat down, and talked for quite a
while. The words flowed out of Eric like magma from an erupting volcano.
Once they started, there was no stopping them. It was like he'd kept all
this pain and sorrow bottled up inside for so long, that when he finally
allowed himself to vent, he couldn't stop. I won't go into what he said
... but suffice it to say, it was a tale of woe ... the kind of stuff no
thirteen year old boy should even have to hear about, much less have happen
to him!

As Eric was talking, I let him know the abuse wasn't because of something
he'd done wrong. And when he'd finally run out of words, I added, "I'm
going to call Josh, if that's all right with you, Eric. He'll know the
best way to help you."

"Will I get to go home with you guys?" Eric asked timidly.

"There's no way I'll take you back to your house," I replied, even though
Eric had told us his dad was out of town for a few days. I pressed the
speed-dial number for the ranch.

On the one hand, Eric seemed relieved, and on the other he was anxious. I
suppose we all need security in our lives, and he sure didn't have much
right about then.

"Hello. J bar A ... Josh speaking," my lover answered, on the fifth ring.

"Hey, Josh; Tim here ... and we've got a situation on our hands."

We spoke for several minutes and then I put Eric on the phone. Since the
park didn't close until eight on September Saturdays, Eric's mom wouldn't
be expecting him for quite a while yet. Josh was going to call his lawyer
first thing, followed by his friend at the Division of Family Services, and
finally the police. He wanted us to stay at the park for a while longer,
and he would call me back, after he'd had a chance to make a few calls.

When we arrived at the ranch, sometime after seven, Josh's lawyer, the
woman from the state and a Boulder County policewoman were waiting for us.
As it worked out, Josh and his lawyer were able to pull a few strings, and
we got temporary custody of Eric until the state could convene a hearing on
the matter early the next week.

***

It was a very long night ... getting Eric checked by a doctor at the
hospital, tons of x-rays, and filling out police statements. But Eric
generally seemed happy he didn't have to live the lie anymore. Josh's
lawyer felt the case was strong enough that Eric's parents might decide to
give up custody, rather than face criminal prosecution for child abuse.
But, since we were an openly gay couple, there was some doubt whether the
state would award custody of Eric to Josh and me. That seemed SO unfair
... especially since they hadn't had a problem with Josh adopting Ryan.
However, Josh's lawyer told us the state had made an exception in Ryan's
case ... because Ryan and Josh were blood relatives to begin with.

It was well after midnight when we got back to the ranch ... but all four
of our boys were still waiting up for us. They welcomed Eric with open
arms; I was SO proud of each of them! Even though it was late, none of us
were sleepy ... and Josh decided to prepare a late night breakfast for the
seven of us. After eating, and quite a bit of conversation, everybody
decided to call it a day. It had been a day and a half, if you ask me!

Since it was almost three, Josh told the boys they didn't have to get up
for school in the morning. Although they had been tired, moments earlier,
the boys rushed up the stairs with newfound energy. At the top of the
stairs, we said goodnight to each other, and the boys turned right. They
had disappeared into a bedroom or two by the time Josh and I reached ours.
We didn't even turn on the lights, but stripped and slid into bed.

"Damn, Tim," Josh began, nestling his head on my shoulder, "what on earth
would possess a father to treat his son like that?"

I hugged my lover long and hard, before answering. "I'll never in a
million years understand it," I replied. Tears welled-up in my eyes, as I
thought about everything Eric had been forced to endure. While I couldn't
erase the past years, I vowed to myself ... and then to Josh ... that I was
going to do everything in my power to see that Eric got all the happiness
he deserved.

"You and me both," Josh agreed thoughtfully. "We'll make it happen
... somehow."

We cuddled in each other's arms for quite a while, before making slow,
satisfying love to each other ... then we cuddled some more. Neither of us
knew what might happen at the upcoming hearings. But when the man I loved
held me in his strong arms, I believed that anything was possible...

Wow ...

I hope all of you enjoyed this chapter. Although I didn't write it until I
finished chapter 35, I had planned this to be the ending of "Us Guys" for
some time. I want to especially thank Steve for ALL his help with this
chapter. He was also a foster parent, back when he was raising his two
adopted sons. And he has some firsthand knowledge of how kids react to
being abused. It is so sad that stuff like that happens in our society.

I want to sincerely thank each and every one of you who have followed this
story for the past ten months. Where did all the time go? It seems like
only yesterday I was beginning the first chapter...

The title for the fourth book in this serial will be "More is Better". I
hope all of you will be back in September for the continuation of this
tale.

For those of you who might be interested, I have uploaded all chapters of
all three books to the Yahoo! Group site. I've wanted to do that for quite
a while, and finally got around to it this week. All individual files are
now located in folders for each book title. (By the way ... group
membership was 290 as I write this.)

If you would like to join the Yahoo! Group for my stories, you can do that
here: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ill_suck_you/join And if you've never
read the earlier stories in this series, you might enjoy them. They're
also in the Gay/Incest area of the Nifty Archive.
