Chapter 25

A birthday party and a coming of age

As I carefully worked on getting my house prepared for a birthday party I
realized that the birthday party would be more than just a birthday party,
it will be a moment of truth for Erik and I hope that he could handle the
news that coming out could be the cause of his death and a death not in a
nice way but I wish that the two boys that I met at the Green Light would
come to the party and to that end I called Tom and said "if you and I can
guarantee that it will be safe do you think we could talk the two boys that
we met at the Green Light to come to Erik's party" Tom busted up laughing
and said "have you got this office bugged or a mole on my personal staff" I
sat very quiet as he continued with "I am putting you on the speaker phone"
and I could hear more than one voice and Tom said "they are both in my
office and after I contacted them they understood why you needed them and
have agreed to come to the party but they both are in a real relationship
will be there to tell there story and have some birthday cake and go home
as their lovers will be with them and their lovers are also by law their
guardians, if that is acceptable they will be there" I shook my head and
said "the both of you are the most gutsy young men I have ever met and I
think we and you can change the mind of the boy that wants to out himself,
and Tom thank you and thank both of you boys".

 As I finished my phone call to Tom, to my shock Marty was standing in the
doorway and he looked lost I swung away from my desk and as I did I opened
my legs wide and held my arms out to the boy and he ran to me and I gently
held him as I think he really needed a gentle hug as I held him I said "we
need to go to your place to pick up some clothing that we can clean up as a
stop gap until I can get you some new clothing at J. C. Penny's, also I
need to take you to visit a judge that I know so I can get you legally into
this family as my son" with the word son I felt a shiver pass thru the boy
and he looked up at me and said "are you really going to be my Dad" I
softly kissed him and said "yes if the courts and a certain judge allows
it" he kissed me again and breathed as soft and gentle sigh, of relief.

As we were in a limbo condition Todd walked in and said "Dad are we going
to Marty's house and pick up some of his clothing" like a person coming out
of a dream I suddenly looked up and said "take Marty and get him dressed as
I do the same" after I said that I looked at Marty and realized that I had
assumed that he needed help getting dressed and the daggers were in his
eyes so I said "I know you can dress your self but Todd can help and coerce
his brothers into loaning you any clothing that you may need, that is
unless you want to go to your old house in your `birthday suit'", at that
Marty blushed big time, giggled and took Todd's and they went about getting
Marty dressed.

I went into my room and did a military fast dress about the time I was
ready I pulled on a pair of leather work gloves and grabbed an extra pair
for Marty knowing that Todd would have a pair on when he came to my truck,
as they arrived I looked at Marty and I could see a perfect blend of
clothing from all of the boys, Todd threw me the truck keys and we headed
to Marty's old place, much to my shock it was in a nice part of town and
from the outside it was well taken care of but when the front door opened
the smell was putrid.  I looked at Marty and said was it your job to keep
the house clean, he blushed a serious red and said "it was a major project
cleaning up after the two pigs that are my brothers" I looked at him and
said "open a few windows and let the house ventilate" he looked at me and
whispered "what do I do if we wake my pig brothers" I looked at him and
said "they never came home last night so there is no problems" as we walked
thru the house it was truly a pigsty until we got to Marty's room and you
would think we were on another planet as the room was clean and every thing
was put away and even the pigsty smell didn't dare enter this room, Marty
smiled and said "they may be my brothers but I am not a pig" I looked
around the room and said "Todd give Marty a hand and gather every thing
that is his I am going to look around and see what is left behind by his
pig brothers" as I did I carefully went thru all of the brothers draws
including the boxes in the closet and I finally found the brothers
correspondence and about 50 letters from his Dad plus a massive amount of
gold jewelry some still had the store tags on them I also found a cloth
pouch with jewels and from the envelopes that I found that both the father
and brothers were burglarizing jewelry stores and removing the stones and
smelting the gold into bars and that with the over 5 kilos of uncut heroin
(china white) with a street value of over $1,000,000.00 I thought to my
self Marty's brothers were real idiots but I was not so after I recovered
the processed gold bars and the jewels the rest would be handled by the
local PD with the papers that I needed to hang the father and the `missing'
brothers and Marty with Todd's help had collected 4 XL plastic bags we
departed and went home on the way I noticed that the Pizza Hut™ had
been reopened so I stopped in and purchased 3 medium pizza's super loaded
and 3 - 2 ltr. Bottles of Pepsi and Marty said "we are going to party
tonight" I laughed and said "no not really but some times we need to let
our hair down and be happy" Todd smiled and said "will you be inviting Tom"
I smiled and said "if you want to why not" so I called Tom on my cell phone
and he said he would be there in 20 minutes my answer was "if you want to
eat you had better get here as fast as you can" he laughed and said "we are
on our way, NOW".

When we arrived home Todd asked "where should I put Marty's clothing" I
looked at him and said "in the laundry room so I sort through it and decide
what stays and what is trash" Marty looked at me when I said that and was
about to have a hissyfit and I stopped him before he could get started by
saying "my house, my rules, and you will find that my way is the best for
all concerned" he smiled and said "yes Dad, I am so use to fighting with my
pig brothers because there decisions we in truth my fathers decisions
forced on me by my pig brothers" I wrapped my arms around him and softly
kissed him until I could feel that he had popped a stify, we both got a
reprieve when Tom and Don came thru the door and a war had started to get
and eat the pizza's after 24 pieces of Pizza and 3 2ltr bottles of Pepsi
was gone I sent everyone to the bathrooms to cleanup seeing that next to an
ice cream cone pizza is the messiest food to eat while every one was gone
Tom asked me the question that I was expecting "have you told Marty about
his brothers" I looked at Tom with daggers and said "NO and don't bring it
up again", Tom looked at me and said "you know he will eventually want to
know" again I looked at Tom and said "I will deal with it when the time
comes not before" at that moment the boys came back into the AV room and
Don had Marty over his shoulder and as he walked he was tickling him like
mad, I said "Don as a warning Marty don't have a lot of bladder control and
he will make you wet if you keep that up" both Don and Marty turned red and
they both started to stammer but Todd was the 1st to answer "Marty's
bladder is totally empty seeing that he just drained it" I smiled and said
"only a warning" Tom looked at me and said "see all of you tomorrow
afternoon for Erik's birthday party" every one cheered and Tom and Don went
home I went to the laundry room and as I was sorting Marty's clothing he
came into the room and he looked in pain so I asked "what is the matter" he
wrapped his arms around me and in a small squeaky voice asked "are my
brothers dead" I felt a chill run up my back and I asked "what would make
you think that" he looked at me and said "I love you but I don't want you
to get hurt if my brothers come looking for me, it will be a nasty scene
and they can get violent I know of two gay boys that they killed with
orders from my dad" I looked at him and said "they were confronted by Tom
and his boys and they pulled guns and they lost there lives for the
mistake" Marty looked a little shocked and he said "were did they bury
there bodies" I had hoped that he would not ask this question but I
answered "in one of the deep mine shafts, in the Senora desert, and they
will never be found, ever!" he smiled and said "that is what they deserved,
and I hope it is real deep so the Devil won't have far to look for them
seeing that HELL is where they belong" at that I felt a chill run up my
back again, this poor kid really hated them.

I looked at him and said "most of your clothing is in good condition but as
fast as you are growing it will have to be replaced when you return to
school" as I said that he had a look on his face of pure shock and he
stammered "I cant go to school my brothers had a price on me so if anyone
beat me up they would pay that person according to the amount of damage
inflicted anywhere from $20 to as much as $50, but the $50 was only paid if
I was put into the hospital, it was an order from my Dad that I was not to
be killed only maimed" I guess I stood with my mouth open at that moment
Todd came in and I said "please call Judge Johnson at home the number is in
my desk index and ask if I could make an appointment for Monday in his
office 9:30 or later, by the way he knows you by your family name so feel
free to use it" he left the laundry room and I said "on Monday we will see
the judge and I think I can make your dad's world a close view of hell", we
finished sorting his clothing and for some reason I think Marty wanted to
stay with me and away from the other boys.

Todd stuck his head into the laundry room and said "Judge Johnson can see
you this afternoon if you have the time as his calender for Monday is full,
I noticed that he had the cordless phone in his hand" I pointed to the
phone and said "is he still on the line" Todd looked sown and smiled and
said something the phone and handed it to me, as I took the phone I looked
at Marty and said to Marty "get dressed so we can go as soon as I get off
the phone" Todd scooted him out and I said to the phone "hi Your Honor,
trying to do three things at a time" John sounded happy and asked "to what
do I owe this honor" I took a deep breath and said "I need to start a legal
ball rolling and off the record that may end up having some repercussions
in the state prison system but, we will see" his answer was not what I
expected he said "effective the 1st of next month my nephew will be taking
over my seat on the bench, but not to worry he is the same as me and he
knows that you are a gay activist and he will work with you" I smiled and
said "at this moment I have a boy who's father is in state, I have evidence
that he's given his sons orders to kill people me included".  I could hear
him gasp and he said "what have you done about it" I answered "that is what
I need to talk to you about, and I am going to bring the boy with me when I
see you, as I need to start the ball rolling to legally adopt him" John
started to softly chuckle and he said "an other one, soon I will have to
get you a state licence to operate a home for wayward boys" I laughed and
said "that wouldn't work as I keep all the ones I help" I thought and said
"we will be there in 30 minutes, OK" he was still laughing and I said "the
boy I will have with me is the youngest son of that person in state and he
HAD two brothers that made the ultimate mistake of drawing down on part of
the Gay Militia, no names but they will never make that mistake again" he
softly chuckled and said "no prisoners" then I had to laugh and I answered
"they complicate things and slow down the clean up" there was a pregnant
pause then John said "sometimes I wish I could be that certain" I felt a
chill and said "sometimes things get done faster than the jurist system can
do and without any witnesses or a corpus delicti there is no real crime".

As we drove to the Judges home Marty says "how well do you know this Judge"
I smiled and said "we go back a long way and he is friendly to the gay
cause because he has two gay grand children and they have visited me on and
off over the last year" as I said that Marty sat and looked at me and said
"no shit" I looked at Marty and said "there is a very specific rule that I
have and seeing that you just broke it I must tell you what it is, if you
wish to survive in my house you are not aloud to cuss and I mean that to an
absolute in the future if you say a cuss word you will receive 2 hard swats
on you bare butt and there is no reason for the profanity, at least not in
front of me", his face turned red and he said "I am sorry but my brothers
got me into a bad habit, but that will change".

We waited in the Judges outer office and I was reading the magazine and
Marty was reading it over my shoulder, he pointed to an article that I was
not reading and said "Dad you should read the article on this side the
magazine" so I turned it over and there was an article that read that some
company had purchased all of the mining rights to silver mines in the
Senora desert, I swallowed and said the one that your brothers are in they
are in the bottom of a 800' elevator shaft that has collapsed I think by
the time they find them there will be very little to see if anything.

His secretary was coming toward me and I said "is the Judge ready to see
us" he smiled and asked "Mr. McMaster's" I answered "yes" he said "is this
Marty" I said "yes" his response was "the Judge will see both of you now" I
followed him into the Judge's office and as the door closed, I said to the
Judge "John it is nice to see you" Marty stepped up and said "Your Honor my
name is Martin Powers it is nice to meet you" the Judge looked at him and
said "do you seriously mean that you are happy to see me" he didn't flinch
and he answered "I may be many things but one thing I pride my self with I
have never lied when it counted" the Judge looked at me and said "this one
is different but I like his spirit, I will start to get his adoption papers
started, that is if you want Mr. McMasters to become your real father" with
tears in his eyes and he said "yes, please sir" the Judge said "now I have
seen both sides of this young man, and I like what I see" I said "John you
and I need to confer in private, so Marty please wait in the outer office".
After we were alone I put a medium size paper grocery bag on the judges
desk and said "if you give this to the state prosecutor you can close at
least 2 missing persons cases `murders' and I think you will be happy to
forget about Marty's brothers" he smiled and said "from what I have been
told you are not a predator, and you actually protect the gay boys that
live with you or come to you for your protection plus if what I heard a
certain Chef and owner of a 5 star restaurant that sold out and left town
suddenly made a serious step over the line with one of your boys, you do
protect your own" I smiled and added `I protect any boy that someone is
taking advantage of and as you said I am among others a leader of the Gay
Militia, there are basic two types of gays the kind that can barely protect
them selves and those that are the core of The Gay Militia and we will
survive, good day John and call me if you need my help with your grand
sons" at that I returned to the outer office and took Marty's hand and we
went home.

When we got home I sat in the livingroom and said "tomorrow afternoon we
will have a small party for Erik and at that time we will have a serious
conversation with Erik and I hope that we can get thru to him the dangers
of coming out in our homophobic society" I was suddenly very knocked out
and I stripped and put on a pair of soft shorts and shirt and I sat on the
edge of my bed as I did Marty came to me and I said "I am tired" he said
"me too" so I hah him strip and Andy gave him a pair of shorts and T-shirt
and he climbed into my bed with me and in a few seconds with my arms
wrapped around him I slipped into the arms of Morpheus and I slept soundly
for around 2 hours then I was awaken by the sound of rain coming down on my
roof so I sat up and it was only 2:00 PM and I had to get things setup for
Erik's party when I came into the livingroom I was shocked that it was
empty so I went to the A/V room and the boys were watching TV and Todd was
keeping them in line.

As I returned to my bedroom I was shocked that Marty was having a very
disturbing dream and from what I could see it was a bad one so I sat on the
bed and collected him into my arms and softly held him until he came to a
fully awake condition and than I softly kissed him and as I did he was
softly moaning when we broke he said "I love the way you wake me up" then
he had a startled look on his face and he said "I got to pee" so he ran
into my bathroom and I could hear him doing just that and it was almost
drowned out by the sound of rain on the roof I heard him wash his hands and
he came back into the room and said "now that was close" I smiled and
kissed him and he said "what was that for" then I grabbed him and pulled
him to my chest and whispered "because I love you" he put his arms around
my neck and softly but with passion returned the kiss.

With Mike, Marty, Oskar, and Todd's help the food was prepped for the party
tomorrow and I had a list of what I needed for the party that I didn't have
in my pantry as I readied to goto the store I called Tom and asked that he
and his 4 guests come over tonight for a meeting and I would stop by the
Pizza Hut and pickup 4 large Deluxe Pizzas on the way back from the Piglet
Wiggly and he said "I hope that you will respect that these two boys have
been through hell in there personal lives" I softly answered "I would
rather cut off my hand than cause them any pain, but I need to know how far
they will go in telling there story because I feel that Erik needs a solid
and painful shock to correct his poor thinking".  Tom sighed and said "they
fully understand what you are doing and they know that you are one of the
most respected members of the Gay Militia, plus you put your money where
others only put there words, the fact that you have taken in more gay boys
and protected them and made them viable members of society, not Gay
society, but society in general and gay included they are growing into
being good men and the community knows it too, plus I don't think that you
realize it but many gay boys that are on the street would give there
immortal souls to live in your house", now I was in total shock and I said
my usual remark "say what" and Tom said "in the spring I will have a group
visit to your place and they will both singularly and as a group tell you
that", I could feel my self squirming and I said "Tom please don't do that
in mass unless I can bring a few people to the self same party, in other
words I need advance warning, before it happens" I was for the first time
very uncomfortable, and I said "Tom I have to do some shopping and I need
to know if you can get them here tonight as it will adjust as to if I will
be getting 2 or 3 pizzas please call my cell phone as soon as you know" he
laughed and said "don't spend a fortune for the party tomorrow" at that
moment I was in a hurry so I said "never you mind how much I spend on a
party in my house" Tom went silent and finally said well now I have been
properly chastised" I was in a hurry so I said "Tom call me as soon as you
know" and I hung up, as I was walking to my truck Marty skipped up to me
and said "Dad can I go shopping with you" I smiled and gave him a soft swat
on his butt and said "I want to get back ASAP so no fooling around" he
kissed my cheek and ran to my truck and he had my door open and he scooted
across the seat and had his seat belt on before I got in, we did a fast and
clean job of getting groceries and getting home, as I pulled into my spot
at the house my cell phone rang so I walked away from the house and saw it
was Tom so I said "well now what" Tom laughed and said "the 5 of us will be
at the house in an hour" I answered "cool now I can get the Pizzas" he said
"where are you" I said "I am back at the house but I will order the Pizzas
on the internet and tell them that you will pick them up seeing that I will
pay for them by Credit Card, I will set it up for a 5:30 pick up" Tom said
"COOL see you later alley gator" I hung up and advised the kitchen that
"Pizza's will be here at 5:45 so have everything ready to go and we will
eat in the class room" and Todd smiled and said "should I order the
Pizza's", I smiled and said "your in charge do what you have to our crew +
5 will be eating" he started to bark orders and I quietly made my self
scarce.

 As I showered I could see Marty standing in all of his glory (butt naked)
so I opened the shower door and he came in and in about 10 minuted we were
clean and as we exited I helped him to get dry and said "I have a multitude
of sons that you are only the latest but in truth I love you as much as
your Father and brothers didn't" I wrapped my arms around his naked body
and kissed him with all of the love that he hadn't received in his life
thus far, as I did I could feel soft shudders pass through his body as he
softly cried, as I held on and he slowly calmed down, finally he said "Dad
now I can die as I am truly in heaven" I gave him a gentle swat and said
"get dressed, soft shorts and a matching T-shirt no underwear" he smiled
and said "can I sleep with you tonight" I said "and every night until you
find someone else" he looked at me and said "I love you and that will never
change" I smiled and said "and what will you do when you find someone
closer to your age" he blushed and said "that day will never happen", I
kissed him and ran to get dressed, so did I.
