I had nudged Steve as Connor and Hunter were talking.  Steve smiled at me
indicating he understood.  After we finished lunch we all walked back out
to the horses and Steve said, "I think Mike and I have had enough riding
for today.  I think we will hang out here while you guys go for another

Connor saw his chance to safe face saying, "That's cool dad, Hunter and I
will stay back with you and Mike to keep you company.  Maybe we can find a

have to ride out to the back pond to repair a fence.  If you two want you
can ride along."

David said, "Cool, lets head out, it's a good ride and might take most of
the afternoon."

Sean and Colby both had already tightened up their saddles and were
climbing on their horses as Sean said, "Is it alright if we go with Eric
and David, dad?"

Steve said, "Sure.  Have fun."

David said, "If you guys want to lead your horses over to the barn and see
Dallas, he will help you put them away."  With that the four of them headed
off.

Eric asked Sean and Colby, "You two good with doing some faster riding?  If
we make good time we might have time to stop by the pond after we mend the
fence."

Sean and Colby both said they were good and they all kicked their horses
into a nice gallop and after several minutes they were nearing the pond.
David showed Sean and Colby the pond and then said "Let's find this fence
and get it fixed and then come back here to take a break."

The four rode along the fence and soon found the spot that needed repaired.
Eric pulled out the tools and supplies that they would need to repair the

repaired in no time at all.  Once they were finished, they all jumped back
on their horses and rode the short distance back to the pond they had
