Subject: Finding Steve Chapter 20

I looked over at Sean and could see the tears building in his eyes.  Sean
cleared his throat before he spoke, "I'm so glad that you have fixed things
with your dad.  I'm going to be sad that you are not going to staying with
us but I'm glad that things are going well with your parents.  And we will
still get to hang right?"

As a tear rolled down Sean's cheek, Colby pulled Sean into a hug and
whispered, "Thanks for being such a great friend, I love you so much."

Conner jumped in to lighten the mood, "Will you just kiss him and get it
over with.  Man you two are such girls!  You both know that you will be in
all the same classes at school and hang out after school.  The only thing

We all laughed a little as Colby gave Sean a small peck on the lips as they
both wiped their eyes.

Colby and Sean spent the rest of the night in their room as Connor hung out
with Steve and me in the living room.  About 10pm the boys said there
goodnights and headed off to bed.  Steve and I were right behind them.  We
were both off the next day and planned to take the boys out to get the
school supplies and some new clothes.

About one in the morning I was awakened by a loud clap of thunder.  It
looked like we were in for another Texas thunderstorm.  As I lay awake
watching the lighting and listening to the thunder and rain, Steve rolled
over and pulled me in close to him with his head on my chest.  He
whispered, "If this storm lasts very long we are going to have a couple of
boys hopping into bed with us."

"I was just thinking the same thing, but I figured we would only have
Connor since Sean has Colby in bed with him."

The next bolt of lightning struck close and the thunder clap shook the
house.  I heard Connor's door fly open hitting the wall as he was in a full

Hunter are more into girls and may just be experimenting."

"Yeah, I think your right.  We may have to have a talk with them though.

Before long we heard the boys getting up and before long we had four boys
standing next to us at the water's edge.  Sean asked, "What are we having
for breakfast?"

Steve just laughed, "Is food the only thing you boys think about?"

Steve had just taken a sip of coffee and spit it all over the ground when

The sun was just going down as we pulled back into our secluded cove.  When

Steve and I grilled some nice steaks with all the trimmings.  Food tastes
so much better outside.  After dinner we all went back to the lake to cool

our new neighbors were also in the water.

We found out that the family was just passing through as they traveled to
south Texas to visit family.  They were a Hispanic family with two kids,
one girl and one boy, both a little younger than our boys.  Steve and I
chatted with the parents as all the kids played a game of keep away in the
water.

About 10 we invited them up to our campsite for beer and sodas.  As we sat
and chatted I noticed that Connor seemed to be paying more attention to the

It was nice to talk with them, but it kind of spoiled any plans any of us

Connor answered back, "I don't think so, but they know Sean and Colby mess

The next morning as we were making breakfast we saw the other family doing
the same.  Steve went over and asked them how long they planned on staying
and if they would like to join us on the boat this morning.  When Steve
came back he told me, "They were planning on leaving around lunch time and
they said they would love to join us as long as we were back so they could
be on the road by noon or so."

I said, "That won't be a problem.  We were planning on leaving about the
same time.  Since tomorrow is the first day of school I don't think we
should stay out too late."

After we were all done with breakfast we all loaded up on the boat and
cruised around the lake.  The boys showed our guests how to ride the tubes
and made sure to let our guests ride as long as they liked.  It was funny
how Connor was never too far from our guest's daughter.

We got back in time for our guests to get on the road.  After they left, we
got our stuff packed and headed back to the house.  After getting
everything put away and everyone showered we just hung out around the
house.  The boys spent the rest of the day playing video games while Steve
and I watched some TV along with a nap or two.
