Before long it started getting dark and it was time for dinner.  It was a
light dinner since Maria along with the help of Colby's mom, had been
preparing everything for Christmas dinner.  After saying grace Jose made
sure to announce that everyone that was going to church needed to be ready
by nine so they could make it into town early enough to get good seats."

After dinner everyone went to their cabins and started getting ready for
church, changing into their church jeans, dress shirts and polished cowboy
boots.  We all met up at nine and loaded up into a few trucks and then
headed into town.  It was a very nice service and Jose and Marie made sure
to show off there grandson's making sure to include Colby.  I think the
boys were hating it but Steve and I were enjoying watching them, smiling
and laughing.  It was late when we got back and everyone went off to bed as
soon as we got back to the ranch.

The next morning everyone was up and had made their way up to the mess hall
right at seven o'clock.  I was amazed when we walked in at the pile of
presents that were under the Christmas tree.  I was sure that Maria had
spent many hours shopping for each one of the kids on the ranch.

Before any presents were opened, Maria and Linda got the coffee, juice and
pastries set out so everyone could help themselves to a light breakfast.
Maria and Jose passed out the presents but no one was allowed to open any
until they were all passed out and then each person would open their gifts
while everyone else watched.  Most of the ranch hands got somewhat similar
gifts such as needed gear and gift cards to one of the stores in one of the
malls in the city.  Everyone was pleased with what they had been given.

Once everyone had finished opening their gifts our gang went back to our
cabin where Steve and I gave the boys and my kids their gifts.  The boys
loved all the games and clothes that we got them along with the remote
control cars.  Before long we heard the dinner bell ringing signaling it
was time for Christmas dinner.

Maria and Linda had prepared an awesome meal with all the traditional
dishes.  After dinner a bunch of the kids took over the clean up and in no
time the kitchen was cleaned and everything was put away.  Jose had made a
nice fire in the fire place and everyone lounged around the rest of the day
talking, hanging out and of course watching football.  Our boys along with
David, Eric and TJ walked down to the barn to give the horses their
Christmas treats of apples and pears.

I was amazed at how fast the day had gone and before we knew it, it was
getting dark outside.  Aaron had just arrived as desert was being served

evening was spent around the fire place enjoying some pie and ice cream
along with friends and family.  It turned out to be one of the best
Christmas's ever.

Again the adults started heading off to bed around nine or so to leave the
kids alone to hang out but before long they were all heading off to bed
themselves since they all knew it was back to work the next morning.  Aaron
was sitting in one of the overstuffed chairs watching the football game
with TJ sitting on the floor leaning back against the front of the chair
