The next morning Steve and I got up and after sitting outside in the cool
morning air having our coffee, we went in and started to fix a big

The following Monday after the new year it was back to school for the boys

back into our normal routine.  For the most part the swimming season was
over but Aaron, Colby and Sean still went in to school early each day to
get in some laps in the pool.  They also started to hit the gym three days

The day that Steve was notified of all this, he called me at work and
informed me.  We agreed that we would tell the boys that night at dinner.
I texted Aaron and told him we would like him to stay for dinner.  Aaron
was still bringing the boys home from school each afternoon and would hang
out at our place for awhile, but most nights he would go home for dinner
and to spend some time with his family.

That night on my way home from work I stopped and picked up some brisket
from the local BBQ place and then went home to start making some home made

The other three boys came in about an hour later.  As growing teenage boys
do they all dropped their school packs just inside the door and went

each a snack bar.  They all sat down at the breakfast bar to scarf down

him Sean looked over at Aaron saying, "Your staying for brisket right?"

mind."

Without looking over at the boys I answered, "Aaron you know your welcome
at this house any time.  No need to ever ask.  Why don't you all get your
school packs picked up and get any home work you have done before Steve
gets home so we can eat as soon as he cleans up."

They all took off to Sean and Colby's room leaving me to finish up dinner
before Steve got home.  About an hour later I heard the garage door open
and moments later Steve walked in the door.  As Steve came into the kitchen
I noticed he had a bit of a worried look on his face.  I'm sure that he had
been thinking about telling Sean about having to testify in Brian's

Hunter smiled saying thanks again before turning towards the front door.
Connor followed him to see him out.  As they walked to the front door we
heard Hunter say, "Connor you have two really cool dads."

Connor just answered, "Yeah I know."

Steve looked back at me smiling giving me one more quick kiss before
heading to our bedroom to get out of his uniform.  As Steve walked passed
Connor in the living room Steve messed up Connor's hair.  Connor just

Connor asked me if I needed any help with dinner.  All three of our boys
enjoyed cooking and I enjoy their willingness to help out in the kitchen so
I said, "Sure.  Can you keep an eye on the beans while I set the table.
Give them a taste and see if you think they need any more spices."

A few minutes later Steve came out from our room.  As he did I asked him to
tell the other three that dinner was ready.  Everyone came out to the
dinning room and sat around the table.  Connor helped place all the food on
the table and then took his seat.  We all talked back and forth, each

Steve and I were watching both Sean and Colby for their reaction to this
news.  Both seamed to handle the news without much concern.  Sean asked,
"What do they want me to say?"

Steve answered, "They will want to know how the assault has effected your
life and the judge may ask you what kind of punishment you think Brian
should receive."

Sean didn't say anything but you could tell that he was thinking about it.
Steve said, "Sean do you think you would be able to do that?"  Sean
answered back, "Sure but I would like to put some thought into it before
then.  Right now I'm not sure what I would want to say."

Steve continued, "He said that he didn't think that you would have to
testify at Dennis' trial.  He believed that he had all he needed with
Brian's testimony."  Sean just shook his head acknowledging what Steve had
said.  He didn't say any thing and looked like we was in deep thought.
Steve asked Sean if he had any questions and reminded him and the other
boys that if any of them did that they should come to us and asked them.

Sean and Colby helped Steve clean up after dinner and then joined the rest
of us in the living room.  We all took our usual spots when we hung out and
watched movies.  Steve joined me on the couch while Sean and Colby sat
