Subject: "Love Runs Deep" - Chapter 2 update (Gay/Military)

To the readers of "Love Runs Deep",

After receiving several emails and other correspondence from you, I
wanted to post this update on nifty to inform those who are currently or
have previously read the first chapter of my future plans for picking the
story back up and finishing it. If you were not aware, about 2 weeks
after I posted the first chapter on nifty, my PC's Hard drive decided to
take a permanent nap. It suffered a complete and total hard crash, and
after trying various data retrieval software programs with no success,
chaos ensued. A lot of information was on this hard drive, not limited
to the notes, future chapters, ideas, and other materials i had on the
story at that time, along with a complete outline of the 6 chapters I
intended to write for the story. I had already finished chapter 3 at the
time of the crash. Needless to say, this was a huge blow to my ability
to keep writing the story, or do much of anything, considering what was
on the drive. For personal privacy reasons I decided sending it back to
the manufacturer for retrieval of data was not an option. This meant
everything on the drive that wasn't backed up, was lost forever.

Needless to say, life went on, including mine, but one thing never
changed. It seemed every week since then I have gotten some kind of
correspondence from some new person who just read the story and was
wondering about the next chapter, where it was, if I was going to finish
it etc. Well, I am pleased to say that your perseverance has worked. I
am going to finish the story, and have been working on doing so for the
past week now, largely due to the correspondence I received from a reader
who took the time to write a thoughtful email to me, in which he
encouraged me to finish it despite the fact that I would have to start
over from scratch.

It comforts me to know that real people, with real lives, use the
Internet all the time, and that the Internet isn't exclusively dominated
by faceless people with fake or made up identities and less than
reputable intentions. Until last week, I never even really considered
that my story might actually help someone with similar issues in their
own life. Up till now, my impetus for writing this story has been
basically for a self-centered reasoning and the emotional release that I
achieved when I was actively writing it. Now, I can say that I have
genuinely learned something new about myself, and how actions that I
might assume are quite trivial, can profoundly impact someone worlds
apart from me, and vice versa. So, with all that being said, I will be
posting the second through sixth chapter of "Love Runs Deep" shortly, and
I will be finishing the story come Hell, or high water.

If you would like to help me make this story even better, please feel
free to send me an email in reply. I will respond to any reader who
genuinely conveys an interest to me, not only in helping me grow as a
writer, but also in the successful completion of this story.

Regards,

Aidan W.
