admit, I like them that way myself. If you aren't allowed to read stories

No Marines were hurt in the production of this story, but several had
complete changes of view towards certain activities with other males.

MY BROTHER'S MARINE BUDDY
Part VIII
by RimPig 2003

Rick had taken the weekend off, so the next day being Saturday, we slept
in. When I finally woke up it was almost 10:00 a.m. Rick was still asleep
and so I decided to leave him that way and go make us some tea before I
woke him. Rick had adopted my mother and my thing about drinking tea rather
than coffee. I boiled the water and poured it over the tea leaves in the
infuser in the middle of the pot. Our favorite tea - Malachi McCormick
blend from Harney & Sons in Connecticut, the same company that makes the
tea for the Palm Court at the Plaza Hotel in New York City. After steeping
it for a few minutes, I poured two mugs, added milk and sugar and headed
back to the bedroom. I figured I'd check and see that Cal got home all
right last night, but I could see that the door to the den was slightly
open and when I pushed it open more and looked inside, I found that Cal was
not there. In fact, the futon couch had not been pulled out, telling me
that Cal had not come home yet.

I took the two mugs of tea and got back into bed with Rick. I leaned down
and kissed him which brought him awake. He looked up at me.

"Good morning, babe." he groaned as he stretched.

Fuck! I loved to watch him do that in the morning, stretching and flexing
the muscles of his beautiful body! I grinned at him and he grinned back. He
knew I was watching him and he knew how much I loved watching him like
that. I handed him the mug of tea.

"Thanks, babe. How are you this morning." he asked.

"A little worried to tell you the truth." I said. "Cal didn't come home
last night."

Rick started chuckling.

"What's so funny?" I asked, a little miffed at his reaction.

"Babe! He's a grown man! And a Marine. He can take care of himself!
Besides, what time is it?" He asked.

"Almost 10." I said.

"Well, they only just met! They ain't an old 'married couple' like us! We
know so well what to do and how to do it to each other that we don't have
to stay up half the night learning how! Fuck! They probably didn't get to
sleep until way after the sun was up!" he laughed.

I looked at him sheepishly.

"I guess you're right." I said.

"Hey!" he said, putting his arm around me and pulling me close. "I never
thought I'd live to see the day that you'd care enough about Cal to be
worried! That makes me incredibly happy!"

I smiled up at him.

"Yeah. I know. Makes me happy, too. I've finally got a brother." I said.

"I'm sure that once they wake up, he'll call...well, maybe not right after
they wake up." he grinned slyly at me, gulping down his tea and setting the
mug on the table on his side of the bed.

This exposed his muscular lats and buns to my vision for a moment.

"No...but I guess we're an 'old married couple' and we don't need to play
around first thing in the morning!" I stuck my finger in his ribs!

He grabbed my hand and pulled it down to his crotch where his hardon was
jutting up, same as it did every morning!

"That feel old to you?!" he growled.

"No, that feels horny to me." I said, laughing.

"So what are you going to do about it?" Rick asked.

"Want me to go in the other room so you can jack off in peace?" I asked
facetiously.

"You want a divorce!" he growled.

"Well then maybe you'd like me to do this!" I said, and pushed him back
down on his back.

I threw the cover off him, exposing his rampant cock and then rising up,
straddled his hips and sunk his cock in my already wet hole. With all the
leftover cum and juices from the night before, I had no trouble taking him!
I just sat right down on his cock and settled down on his hips - still
drinking my tea!

He looked up at me, sitting there and started laughing.

"I suppose you're going to finish your tea first?" he laughed.

"That was exactly my intention!" I said, grinning.

"Okay, but I think I should warn you that San Francisco is noted for
earthquakes and I think I feel one coming now!" he said.

And saying so, he suddenly thrust up with his hips, driving his cock even
deeper in my hole while lifting me up about a foot! I barely held onto my
tea, especially when he suddenly dropped his hips back down on the bed!
Luckily, my weight was resting on his hips and I went right back down
without losing his cock from my ass - but almost losing the tea!

"Hey!" I giggled. "That's not fair!"

"Oh yes it is! You want to finish your tea and I want to fuck that hot, wet
hole of yours. This way we both get what we want!" he grinned.

"Okay! I give in!" I said, reaching over his head and putting the mug on
the top of the bookcase headboard next to the phone.

I then put my hands on his thick, muscular pecs and lifted myself so that
about half of his cock pulled out of my ass. Rick grabbed my exposed ass
cheeks and pulled them apart, opening my hole even more, as he began to
drive his cock up and into my fuckhole! He bent his knees and put his feet
flat on the bed to give him more 'lift' and proceeded to pound the shit out
of my hole, rapidly 'rabbit-fucking' me. This was one of his favorite ways
to fuck my butt because it allowed him just about the most speed in
pummeling my hole.

I tightened down on my ass muscles as his cock flew in and out of my hole,
making him groan loudly! I knew that this was something he loved me to do
when he was fucking me like this. My own cock was hard and dripping onto
his abs. I knew that this was not going to be a long fuck. It never was
when we were in this position. There was something about it that caused his
cock to hit my prostate at such an angle that it drove me quickly to orgasm
and, because of the speed of his thrusts, Rick would soon went over the top
as well.

I no more tightened down on his cock then I could feel the cum start to
rise from my balls! I knew I was about to shoot my load and I hoped that
Rick would be right behind me because this position was difficult once I
got off!

"Yeah! Fuck me! I'm almost there! Yeah! Fuck, yeah! Fuck my hole! I'm
CUMMIN!" I screamed out.

My ass locked down around his cock and my own cock began firing volley
after volley of cum, all over Rick's face, neck and chest! This set him off
at the same time!

"FUCK!!! FUCKIN' YOUR ASS! CUMMIN' IN YOUR SHITHOLE!!!" he screamed as he
buried his cock as far up my chute as he could.

I could feel his cock trembling in my butt as he unloaded his hot jizz up
me! Some of my cum had gone in his open mouth and I could see him licking
around his mouth to get the rest. I reached out and, using my finger, began
scraping my seed that he couldn't reach into his mouth. He sucked at my
finger, cleaning it off. I sat back down on his cock and licked at his
chest and neck, gathering up my cum and then put my mouth over his, sharing
it with him. We moaned into each other's mouth while we devoured my morning
load.

"Come on. Sit on my face." Rick murmured.

I pulled off his cock, stood up on the bed, turned around and squatted
down, presenting my ass for his eating pleasure! He grabbed hold of my hips
to steady me and then locked his lips around my just-fucked hole, sucking
at my ring. I relaxed my butt and could feel his load sliding out of my ass
into his sucking mouth. Then I felt his tongue invading me and moaned at
the feeling of his tongue licking at my swollen ass-lips, soothing the
burning sensation from such a fast and furious fuck.

Finally, having his fill, he pushed me up and I stood up and got down off
the bed. I looked down at him.

"I need a shower." I said, giving him a wink.

"Me, too!" he said, enthusiastically. "Maybe you should finish your tea?"

I grabbed the mug and downed the rest of it, which had somewhat cooled by
that time. Rick got out of bed, threw his arm around my shoulders and
together we marched to the bathroom and right into the tub/shower. We, of
course, didn't turn on the water because it wasn't going to be that kind of
shower. At least, not yet. We stood at opposite ends of the tub from each
other, each with our cocks in our hand, pointed at the other.

"You ready?" Rick grinned.

"Sure am!" I said.

"Ready!" he called out.

"Aim!" I responded.

And together we yelled, "FIRE!"

Our piss shot out of your cocks, beginning to drench each other. Laughing
like little kids, we started to have a 'piss-fight', our piss streams
crossing like swords as we tried to hit the other with them! Yes, it was
very childish and Rick and I loved every minute of it! We were like two
little boys playing. For a moment, my mind went back to Cal. If only he and
I could have played like this when we were little boys, how much different
would our lives have been?

But I had no time to dwell on this. My piss was running out and so was
Rick's. We then turned on the water and gave each other a long, leisurely
shower. Running our hands over each other's bodies, exploring almost like
we didn't know them. Rick and I took turns shampooing each other's hair,
something that we learned was an extremely sensuous and erotic thing to do
to each other! Our cocks got hard, but we ignored them. There would be time
later to make long, slow, passionate love to each other. Something we often
did on the weekends.

We finally finished and then we got out of the shower and dried each other
off, prolonging the loving, sensuous nature of what we had been doing. We
both slipped into small gym shorts and then we went into the kitchen and I
made breakfast for the two of us while Rick sat, reading the morning paper
which he'd retrieved from outside the front door of the apartment.

When we finished breakfast it was almost noon. I thought, again, about Cal
and wondered where he was. I figured he must have had a good time last
night or he wouldn't be out this late. It was just a few minutes later that
Rick and I heard the key turn in the lock on the front door and Cal's voice
calling out.

"Anybody home?"

"We're in the Kitchen, Cal!" Rick called out.

Cal poked his head around the corner of the door, looking somewhat
sheepish.

"Come on in." I said. "You want some breakfast?"

"No, thanks. Doug and I ate at his place." Cal said.

"Well sit down and tell us all about it! Did you have fun?" I asked.

Cal's face beamed!

"Oh, fuck, yeah! It was GREAT!" he enthused.

"You want me to make you some coffee?" I asked.

"What's that you're drinking?" Cal asked, looking over into Rick's cup.

"Tea. Your brother and your Mom got me hooked on it!" Rick smiled at Cal.

"Tea's fine with me!" Cal said.

"So...you gonna tell us about it?" I asked, pouring Cal a mug.

His face got red in embarrassment.

"Well...I can tell you this much...it was a very wet night last night! I've
never seen anybody piss so long and so hard in my life!" he said.

Rick and I started laughing!

"What?" Cal asked, looking at us like he couldn't understand why we were
laughing.

"We've both been there!" I laughed. " I told you about Brian, remember?"

"Yeah." Cal said. What about him?

"Well he was like that! No one since has ever pissed as hard as he could! I
think I had bruises in the back of my throat from him pissing in it!" I
grinned.

"Oh...yeah, I guess you guys would know." he said sheepishly.

"Cal, we aren't laughing at you! Through your enthusiasm and happiness,
we're reliving our first times again." Rick said.

"Oh! Okay!" Cal smiled.

There it was. My brothers easy acceptance of something that just made
sense. No questions, no lingering doubts. It was amazing to watch!

"Are you going to see him again?" I asked.

"No, I don't think so. He isn't the one." Cal said to me.

"The one what?" Rick asked.

I looked at Cal as if to say, 'You're going to have to answer that question
your self.'

Cal looked at Rick.

"Not the person I want to spend my life with." Cal said seriously.

"How do you know that? You just met him and spent one night with him?!"
Rick said.

I looked at Rick as if I couldn't believe my ears!

"Oh, and how long did it take for you to know my brother was the one?" Cal
asked Rick.

I wanted to jump up and cheer for Cal!

The question certainly startled Rick! He started hemming and hawing and was
generally unable to answer at first.

"Well...but...that was different!" he finally said.

"How?" Cal asked, simply.

"Well...I don't know! It just was!" Rick insisted.

I couldn't hold it in any longer. I started laughing! Rick looked at me,
angry at first and then quickly changing to looking totally chagrined.

"Okay!" he said quietly. "I guess you can know in one night."

"Or one afternoon!" I added.

"Yeah! In one afternoon!" Rick admitted. "But really, Cal, you should give
it a better chance then that!"

"Nope! I didn't expect to find him the first thing out of the box! And,
frankly, I don't think Doug was that interested in getting together
again. I mean, I think he found it exciting because I was a 'virgin' but I
think he kind of lost interest when it was over. I think he wants to play
with someone with a lot more experience. That's okay. I knew there wasn't
anything there so I'd rather move on myself." Cal said.

I don't remember ever that Cal made that length of a statement - especially
about his own feelings! I was immensely proud and surprised at how much my
brother had grown since Christmas!

It was a great visit. We did take Cal out that day and showed him a lot of
the sights of San Francisco. We even went to Alcatraz, which Cal insisted
on seeing and seemed to enjoy immensely! We took the ferry over to
Sausalito for dinner. I asked Cal if he wanted to go back to the bar that
night or another bar, but he said he really just wanted to spend time with
us. So we spent time, walking the streets of the Castro and talking. Cal
later told me that this was the best part of the whole day for him!
Spending time with his 'buddy' Rick and with his brother! I couldn't help
but be so touched when he told me this that he was soon watching me cry
again. But he didn't make fun. He just smiled because he knew what those
tears meant - how happy I was and it was him who made me happy!

Just two weeks before Cal was supposed to finally leave the Marine Corps
and come to live with us, something really wonderful happened. One of the
guys who worked at KRON with Rick decided to move his family back to his
home town in Wisconsin because he wanted to be near his aging parents. This
left an opening on the helicopter maintenance crew. Rick talked to his boss
and it was agreed that they would hold the spot for Cal, who had also
received the same training as Rick in the Marine Corps. Rick came home all
excited at the news. He made a call to Cal's barracks at Camp Pendleton to
tell Cal that he had a job as soon as he could get here.

Cal was equally ecstatic, according to Rick. It certainly would make things
much easier for Cal and for us. There would be no long job search and Cal
could find a place of his own that much quicker. While I did love my
brother, I was not looking forward to the loss of privacy for Rick and
me. It was one thing to have someone else in the apartment for the weekend,
it was quite another to have that, day in and day out for months at a
time. And, to be honest, I think Cal felt the same way. All the time he
lived with us, he went out of his way to give us privacy. I never knew this
considerate side of Cal - or, to put it another way, I never knew he had it
in him!

Of course, the newly 'liberated' Cal spent a lot of time out, going to the
bars and experiencing the male/male sex he had always denied himself. He
took to it like the proverbial duck to water! So much so, in fact, that we
hardly ever saw him in the evenings and we had no way to keep track of who
he was dating - the names all blending together. When he would talk about
this one or that one, it was always followed by the statement "But he's not
the one." I think after a few months Cal was beginning to despair of ever
finding "the one". I counseled him to just hang in there!

Then one night, our lives were to change again. Brian and I were sitting in
the living room which we had set up as the den/study when Cal moved in. I
was studying and Rick was watching a football game on TV, so it must have
been a Monday night. I had just gotten up to go to the kitchen to make a
pot of tea when there was a knock at the door. I looked over at Rick who
shrugged his shoulders, as if to say, 'I have no idea who it could be!'. We
didn't get a lot of visitors and it was after 9 p.m. I couldn't be Cal
because he had his own key.

I went to the door and almost passed out! There, standing in the doorway
was... RICK! Well...not exactly Rick. A slightly younger, slightly shorter
Rick!

"Yes, can I help you?" I asked, eyeing him and the heavy back pack he was
carrying.

"You must be Kevin. Is my brother Rick here? I'm Mike." he said, offering
his hand.

Rick by this point had heard the voice and appeared behind me in the
doorway.

"Mike! What the fuck are you doing here?! Why didn't you let us know you
were coming?!" Rick said, grinning from ear to ear and dragging his brother
by the arm through the doorway to where he could hug him but Mike had to
take off the back pack before they could, setting it by the door.

I watched as the two brothers hugged each other tightly, continuing to be
amazed at the strong resemblance between the two of them! They looked so
much alike, it was almost like they were twins. Mike had the same
reddish-gold hair, the same deep blue eyes, the same body structure -
everything! He was only about 1 to 2 inches shorter than his brother and
looked to be about 1 to 2 years younger. I later found out that Mike was
indeed about 2 years younger. In fact, he was about a year older than I
was.

Once he and Rick had hugged, Mike turned to me.

"So you're Kevin! I've heard so much about you!" he smiled.

"Don't believe everything your brother tells you! I was acquitted for that
murder last year!" I grinned.

Mike looked at me for a moment like, 'What murder?' and then realized that
I was pulling his leg and he began to laugh hysterically!

"Yeah, Rick said you have a really wicked sense of humor!" he laughed.

"Come on in and sit down!" Rick said, leading Mike to the couch and
clicking off the game. "So what are you doing here?"

"Well, I came to visit you!" Mike said but I suddenly heard nervousness in
his voicce.

I didn't think that he had just come to visit Rick. I thought immediately
that something was wrong and Mike didn't want to talk about it yet.

"Hey, I was just going to make a pot of tea. Would you like some, Mike?" I
asked, figuring it would get me out of the room so the two brothers could
talk.

"Sure, I'd love some!" Mike said.

"You, too, Rick?" I asked.

"Yeah, babe. Please." he said and then turned back to his brother.

I went into the kitchen and put the kettle on. It was soon whistling,
letting me know that the water was boiling. I had the large tea pot and tea
ready. I poured the boiling water over the leaves and let it steep. I set
it on a tray with cups and saucers, spoons, sugar and milk. I was carrying
the tray into the living room when I heard Rick's voice screaming!

"HE WHAT?! WHY?! WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU DO?!" Rick was literally screaming
at Mike.

The Rick noticed me and so did Mike. Things went instantly silent. I felt
as awkward as if I'd just let a loud, stinky fart in crowded church! I set
the tea down and went to leave, when Rick grabbed my arm.

"No, don't go. Mike, Rick is studying to be a psychologist. I want him to
be here since this is going to affect him as well." Rick said.

Mike nodded.

I took the opportunity to pour tea for the three of us, allowing the time
to let things calm down. Then I took my tea and sat in a chair across from
the couch where Rick and Mike were sitting.

"Mike left home. Actually, he's just told me that our Dad threw him
out. But he hasn't said why!" Rick said, glaring at his brother.

"And if you act like your old D.I., I don't think he's going to feel very
comfortable telling us, Rick." I said softly.

His glare turned on me and then it softened as the reason of what I was
saying started to sink in.

"You're right." Rick said finally. "I'm sorry Mike. This just comes as such
a shock! Why did Dad throw you out?"

I could see that Mike was very embarrassed over something but I had no idea
what. He looked at the floor and, when he answered, I could barely hear
what he was saying.

"Dad caught me with my best friend Allen...and...well...we...we were
doing...uhh...stuff." he finally got out.

"What? Drugs?" Rick growled.

"No! I ain't NEVER done drugs!" Mike growled back, getting angry at the
accusation.

"Mike, why don't you tell us what it was that you and your friend were
doing." I said, gently.

Mike looked up at me, almost gratefully.

"We...uhh...we were...that is...we were having sex." he said and then
dropped his head down again.

Rick sat there stunned. He and I had always known that his father was
completely disapproving of the fact that Rick was gay, but the idea of him
throwing one of his own sons out for that was way out of Rick's idea of
what his father was capable of! I know this because Rick told me later.

"Wait a minute! It had to something more than that! Dad knows I'm gay and
he didn't threaten to throw me out. There has to be more to this!" Rick
finally said.

"Well...uhh..."Mike started and then stopped.

I saw Rick ready to demand the information so I jumped in again.

"Just take your time, Mike. I know this is difficult - especially with me
here, somebody you don't know. I want you to know that whatever it is,
we're not going to condemn you for it." I said, giving Rick a significant
look.

He caught it and turned to Mike.

"That's right, Mike." Rick's voice a lot more gentle. "I'm not going to
judge you, condemn you or hate you, no matter what it is, bro."

Mike looked up, first at me and then at Rick, his eyes full of gratitude.

"Well...we were in the shower and we were...well...we were... pissing on
each other." Mike's voice was again so quiet that he spoke barely above a
whisper. "Dad called us perverts and deviants."

Rick looked at his brother and then at me. There was shock mixed with
amusement on his face.

"Is that all?" Rick asked.

"Yeah. That's it. Dad said he didn't want a 'fuckin' pervert' under his
roof! So I left and hitchhiked here." Mike said. "I was hoping I could stay
with you guys, just until I found a job. I don't ever want to go back
home. I know that what I did probably sounds pretty sick to you guys but I
promise I won't do it again."

I could see how miserable Mike was.

"Mike, I can't condemn you for that." Rick said gently. "I can't call you
sick for something that Kevin and I do all the time."

Mike looked up in shock! He was searching Rick's face as if to see if he
was telling the truth. Rick just smiled at him. Then Mike looked at me and
I smiled and nodded my head in agreement with Rick.

"You mean...you guys...you..." he sputtered.

"Yes, Mike, Kevin and I are into watersports, too. Ain't nothing wrong with
it. It ain't sick. Maybe a bit raunchy, but not sick!" Rick smiled.

"Fuck! I don't believe this! You guys are really into it?!" Mike said in
amazement.

"Well, we're not going to piss on you to prove it, if that's what you're
wantin'!" Rick grinned. "But, fuck, yeah! Kevin's been into since he was
four and his brother pissed on him when they were taking a bath together!"

"Oh, fuck! Cal!" I said, suddenly remembering that we already had somebody
staying with us!

"Oh, shit! I forgot all about him!" Rick said. "What the fuck are we gonna
do?"

"Well, I guess that we just make the couch a bed for Mike. What else can we
do?" I asked. "We can't turn him away!"

"What's the matter? Am I here at a bad time? I could go somewhere else."
Mike said dejectedly.

"Yeah? Like where? No! You're stayin' right here, little brother and don't
you go gettin' any other fuckin' ideas - you got that?" Rick growled.

"Okay." Mike said, his voice small and his body somewhat shrinking away
from his gruff older brother.

"Oh! Fuck! I don't mean it that way!" Rick said, throwing his arm around
his brother's shoulders and pulling him into a hug. "It's just that Kevin's
brother, Cal, is staying with us as well. But that's okay - we're all
family and we lived in tight quarters at home, didn't we?"

"Yeah. Three of us in that tiny little room." Mike grinned up at his
brother.

I could see that growing up there was evidently some hero worship of Rick
by Mike.

"That's right, Mike. You're family - in more ways than one. We wouldn't
think of you going anyplace else!" I said.

"Are you sure your brother isn't going to mind?" Mike asked.

"I'm sure! Besides, don't you know who Cal is?" I asked.

"No...should I?" Mike asked.

"Yes, you do! You're just not makin' the connection. Cal was my good buddy
in the Marine Corps! You've got to remember me talkin' about him!" Rick
said.

"Oh, yeah! I remember that! So he's 'that' Cal. I never met him." Mike
said.

"Well, you will now." Rick smiled. "He's out right now but you'll probably
meet him when he comes home."

"If he comes home!" I laughed and Rick grinned.

Mike looked puzzled.

"My brother just finally 'came out' a few months ago and he's been on a
quest to date every male in San Francisco ever since!" I laughed.

"Now, be fair!" Rick said, grinning.

"Okay, he's looking for the right guy to fall in love with and spend his
life - but he does seem to be going through every guy in San Francisco in
the mean time!" I said.

"Now don't you go tellin' him we said that!" Rick warned Mike.

"No! I promise. I won't say a thing. 'Course I can't blame him. I'd like
the same thing." Mike said wistfully.

"What? To date every male in San Francisco?" I asked, only half
facetiously.

"No! To fall in love with a guy and spend my life with him!" Mike said.

"Oh, God! Another one!" Rick laughed.

"Well, you can laugh because you already found it!" Mike exclaimed - not
the least bit amused!

"He's right there, Rick. It's not fair for us to make fun of this. We both
were very lucky to have found each other so soon." I said.

"But Mike, you're only 21! Don't you want to kind of 'play the field' for a
while? You couldn't have had that many guys in your life." Rick said.

"No...I don't want to 'play the field'! I know you're supposed to want that
but I've never wanted to just put 'notches on my gunbelt' or however it's
referred to! I mean, sex with other guys is fun, but that's not all I'm
looking for." he said.

"Mike, you don't even have a job! You've only just graduated from college
and now you don't even have a home, except with us, that is. You should get
some of your other priorities in order before you go looking for a mate."
Rick said.

I took about all of this that I could take.

"Yes, Mike, you should follow your older brother's advice! Why when we met
he'd already left the Marine Corps after winning the Congressional Medal of
Honor, graduated from Harvard, gotten a job on Wall Street and built his
own home!" I fumed at Rick.

Mike looked at me, quizzically.

"But I thought you two met while Rick was in the Marines. And he's never
been to college....ohh!" Mike caught on!

Turning to his older brother, he gave him a look that clearly said that he
thought his older brother had, indeed, pushed the limits! Rick for his part
did have the good grace to look thoroughly ashamed of himself.

"Okay! Okay! I give up!" Rick said, holding up his hands in an apologetic
gesture to Mike.

"It isn't good to hand out advice that you are not willing to take." I said
quietly.

"All right. I'm sorry, Mike. Kevin's right. When we met, I still couldn't
decide if I wanted to be in the Marine Corps or not, didn't have a job or
any place to go to if I left the Corps, except home which, with the way Dad
is, was not a prospect that I looked forward to. Yeah, I guess if you're
lucky enough in this world to find the right guy, it doesn't matter when it
is or what you've got going for yourself." Rick admitted.

"And...more importantly, finding a guy - especially one who's into the
things that you're into, Mike, is a lot easier in San Francisco than in
most places. Well, except New York. By the way, what's your degree in?" I
asked him.

"I've got a B.A. in Journalism." Mike said.

I gave Rick another significant look. A journalism degree is needed in the
television news business. The same business that Rick was connected with at
KRON!

"So what do you want to do with your degree? You want to be a newscaster?"
I asked.

"Oh, no! That would have been a degree in Communication! I want to write
for a newspaper or get a job in television news writing." Mike said.

"Okay! I'll check tomorrow and see if there are any openings!" Rick
laughed, seeing my glance at him when Mike finished.

"What do you mean?" Mike asked, confused.

"I take it that your older brother hasn't bothered to tell you how he makes
a living." I said to Mike.

"Yeah, he has. He repairs helicopters." Mike said, still apparently
confused.

"Then he obviously hasn't said where he does this!" I said to Mike while
looking at Rick.

"No...he didn't." Mike said, looking at Rick.

"At KRON." Rick said.

"KRON!" Mike exclaimed. "Oh! Rick! Do you think you could help me get a job
there?! I just need a foot in the door! I know I'm good! Or, at least, I
could be!"

"Yeah. I'll see tomorrow." he laughed as Mike threw his arms around his
brother's neck, giving him a hug.

"Well, I guess we should get this couch setup..." I started to say when we
heard the key in the front door, heralding the return of the 'knight on his
quest of love' - my bother, Cal.

"Hey!" Cal called out and then stopped dead in his tracks as he spotted
Mike sitting on the couch.

"Cal, this is my brother, Mike." Rick said.

Cal looked like a deer caught in somebody's headlights! He just stared at
Mike and Mike's reaction was pretty much the same, staring back at
him. Then Mike rose and walked towards Cal, putting out his hand. Without a
word, Cal grabbed it in his own and the two of them stood there staring
into each other's eyes. Finally Mike was the first to speak.

"I'm pleased to meet you." he said quietly, still staring directly into
Cal's eyes.

"Yeah! I'm glad to meet you! Really fucking glad!" Cal said, breaking into
a huge grin.

Rick and I looked at each other, grinning. I thought to myself - well,
maybe Cal - and Mike's - search might be over!
