Subject: Relationships/A True Love/Chapter 5

Disclaimer: This is a story about a consenting relationship between two
adult men, if this bothers you or you are not of legal age to read it (18
or 21, depending on where you live) please click the little "x" at the top
of the screen. This is a work of fiction, all people and events are made
up. Any similarities to real life are just that, similarities.

I know, I know, I know, I'm a little behind on the writing lately...I
promise I have a good reason. Life got in the way. I had a little accident
shortly after finishing chapter four and my arm has been in a cast since. I
have finally got the cast off and am now back to writing. One thing that
not being able to actually write the story helped me do was to decide where
the story is going and in which direction. I hope everyone enjoys the
chapter, and I am hoping that I can get back into rapid write mode and work
out the next several chapters quickly.

A True Love Chapter Five

"Morning, B," my mom said when she came out on the patio with a cup of
coffee and a fresh cinnamon roll. Chris had out-done himself this morning
with the cinnamon rolls.

"Morning, how did you sleep?"

"Like a baby, and your dad is still asleep. This last couple of months has
really taken it out of us. What with merging the new company, moving to the
new offices and all, we have really been busy. How are you this morning?"

"Good, just got back from a short run, and I'm sitting out here cooling off
before I go in and find something for breakfast." I had no more than said
that when Chris came out with a glass of orange juice and a cinnamon roll
for me.

"How was your run?" Chris asked, sitting down across from me.

"Great, Brice went with me this morning - since he has nothing better to do
at 6 a.m. on a Friday morning then to run with me," I replied with a grin.

"Brice is your neighbor, right?" Mom asked, as my dad came out and joined
us. I had been trying to find the right time to tell them about making the
decision to make a comeback, I'd originally planned on doing it at lunch,
but I wanted to tell them with just the four of us around.

"Yeah, you will meet him and Lisa at lunch... morning, Dad." We spent the
next few minutes catching up on things that had happened since we'd left,
and talking about things around here. While we were talking, I looked at
Chris and gave his hand a squeeze, hoping he'd take that as a signal for
what I wanted him to do.

"Y'all are planning on staying until Monday night, right?" Chris asked,
taking the hint I'd just given him, and trying to set up the conversation
to go where I needed it to go.

"Yep, told the guys that we would plan on leaving around 4:00 Monday
afternoon, that way we'll be home in time for dinner." Dad told Chris and
then took a sip of his coffee.

"Is there room for one more on the plane?" I casually tossed out just to
see if they'd pick up on it.

"Why, you homesick already and wanting to come back to Texas?" Mom asked,
trying to read were I was taking this conversation.

"Not exactly, but I have an appointment with Dr. Stevens on Tuesday
morning, and was just wandering if I could hitch a ride back with you." I
looked at both of them to see what their expressions were. Mom looked
confused and Dad looked a question at me, I tried not to laugh at their
expressions.

"Why do you have an appointment with your doctor in Texas? I thought he was
recommending one out here?" Mom asked, leaning forward in her chair.

"He did recommend one out here and I've seen him a couple of times already,
but he wants Dr. Stevens to make the final decision about releasing me to
skate again."

"Well it's about damn time!" My dad exclaimed. We all started laughing at
that, and it took a few minutes for us to calm down.

"Well, we certainly know how your dad feels now, and I want to say that I
am proud of you for making the decision to try again. Chris are you ok with
this?" Mom asked, turning to look at him.

"100 Percent. This is what he wants and I am going to support him every
step of the way." Chris replied, giving my mom a reassuring look.

"Of course there's room for one more. When are you planning to fly back?"
Mom asked, sitting her coffee cup down.

"I was going to look at flights for flying back Tuesday night and see
what's available."

"Clay has to fly up to D.C. on Tuesday, why don't we just talk him into
delaying his departure and you either fly to D.C with him or he can stop
here and drop you off. No point in spending money on a ticket when the
company has a charter coming in this direction," Dad said, and looked at
Mom who was already calling Clay.

We spent the new few hours relaxing and showing my parents around the
neighborhood. My mom was amazed by the view from our patio, and how quiet
our neighborhood was. Dad kept checking out things around the house for
ways of improvement, and Chris asked him to recommend where we should put a
hot tub - that kept them talking for a couple of hours.

We had a great lunch with Lisa and Brice. Mom hit it off with Lisa, and it
was obvious that they'd be fast friends. The rest of the weekend went
great. I ended up spending time with my mom, and going sightseeing with her
and Lisa. Chris, Brice, and my dad decided to go ahead and build onto the
deck to get it ready for installing the hot tub.

Sunday night I was packing a few things to take with me to Texas when Chris
came into the bedroom.

"Clay just called your mom and said that his meeting in DC was cancelled?"

"Well, hopefully I can get a commercial flight out Tuesday night then." I
was putting my shaving kit in my bag.

"I was thinking, why don't you just stay a couple more days. There isn't
anything going on here, and I have to go to Nashville for most of the week
to work with a new client. I'm not flying back until Friday morning, so why
don't you just plan on coming back then, too?" Chris actually made sense,
there was no use in me being around this week if I didn't have to be, and
hanging at home for a few days wouldn't be such a bad idea.

We spent the rest of the evening packing things for our trips and spending
time with Mom and Dad. I told them that I was going to stay until Friday
and had already purchased a ticket home. We all went to bed early, as it
had been a busy weekend. We spent the next morning getting ready to
leave. Since Chris's flight was at 2:00 p.m., Mom and Dad planned on
leaving at around the same time. When we got to the airport, I kissed
Chris good bye and we headed out to the plane. I waved at him as I was
getting on board and watched him go back into the lounge as we were taxiing
away.

Well that is the end of chapter five. I know that it isn't the length that
it normally is, but I wanted to get one out so that y'all wouldn't forget
about me. I am going to start work on chapter six soon, I hope y'all hang
in there with me while I get back into the rhythm that I had when I first
started writing this story. Please send all comments and such to:
