in this story that's cool as long as everyone remembers there's nothing in
this story that isn't pure imagination.

Chapter 17

(My apologies for using Solomon in place of Saul in Chapter 16, Jonathan
was King Saul's son, Solomon was one of King David's sons given the task of
building the temple. I had been doing some research on Solomon and I guess
his name stuck in my mind as I typed, that's my excuse and I'm sticking
with it.)

Benjamin has had a couple of months getting used to being mortal again, all
the guys have been looking out for him since he's the one who tends to
forget he's no longer a ghost.  Thomas has heard Benjamin yell "OUCH" often
and had to patch up more cuts and scrapes then he dreamed possible.  With
Thomas all things are done with love, and more so now that his Benjamin is
tangible, mortal, and somewhat breakable.  He does everything he can to
make sure Ben adapts to the dangers of walking into walls instead of
through them, which can be quite funny at times.  Everyone had to keep in
mind, Benjamin had a couple of hundred years to get used to walking through
things instead of around them, it really is quite an adjustment.

Professors Anzel and Hallsworth decided to remain in Dr. Hallsworth's home
for the time being rather than joining the other's at what has now become
known as the "Ranch" by the community.  Dr. Kristopher Anzel had been
offered a job by the university which he has accepted.  He and Dr. Mark
Hallsworth would be working closely together as colleagues as well as
having become devoted lovers.



Rumors of a lost city had been spreading in archeology circles by travelers
coming out of Mongolia.  According to gossip some American hikers stumbled
across a beautiful city still inhabited that lay south of the city of Olgiy
at the foot of the Altzay Mountains.  According to rumors, the hikers claim
to have been well treated by people living in this ancient city that was
thousands of years old.  According to gossip these people were supposedly
very advanced in technology.  The Americans said they were blind folded and
led out to the Dzavhan River and then taken to the outskirts of Uliastay
before being released unharmed.

Drs. Mark Hallsworth and Kristopher Anzel were well aware of the
discoveries made in this ancient land of Mongolia, where archeologists have
found remnants of a 500,000 year old culture, which in many ways parallels
the nomadic tribes and lifestyles that still exist today in some of the
outer reaches of the country.

The rumors of a lost city that still may be inhabited by people from a
500,000 year old culture was the most exciting news Mark and Kris had heard
in all their years as archeologists.  Discussing the news with Thomas, Ben,
and the others, they found the excitement over the possibility of this
discovery was infectious.  Without hesitation Thomas asked when they were
leaving.

Mark and Kris looked at each other dumbfounded to think the others were so
willing to take on this dangerous expedition into Mongolia in an area that
wasn't all that far from the Chinese border.  Mark said that he and Kris
had already learned that the American hikers were made up of a small group
of free spirited young men who traveled the world hiking and living with
local peoples learning their various cultures.  Kris added that their last
known whereabouts was in Ulan Bator, the capital of Mongolia.

Thomas asked Luke if he'd be interested in flying them to Ulan Bator in the
same private jet they had used previously?  Luke jumping at the chance
said, "Are you kidding, we haven't been on an adventure this exciting in
ages, I'm in all the way".  Bill and the others all wanted to know what
they should pack and when they should be ready to leave.

Benjamin was practically jumping up and down with excitement, this would be
his first adventure as a mortal.  Fortunately Thomas had managed to get a
passport and papers made to give Benjamin a more recent past history than
what was actually his.  With the right connections money, and modern
technology it seems you can get almost anything done today.

As it turned out they needed a larger plane to handle their growing numbers
as well as the supplies necessary for a prolonged stay in this remote
location.  They ended up with a four engine prop and Luke wanted an
experienced co-pilot since they would be making stops in Alaska and Japan
for refueling before landing in Ulan Bator.

The co-pilot turned out to be Samuel Jennings a thirty-two year old former
pilot for United Air who was released from his contract after getting
caught joining the mile high club with a handsome young passenger who later
turned him in to the authorities.  It was the passenger who had initiated
the rendezvous in the first place but that apparently didn't make any
difference to the authorities at United Air.  Samuel was out of a job and
jumped at the chance to co-pilot this expedition.

When meeting Samuel, Luke and Ponso were both intrigued since they were
aware of the unfortunate circumstance that cost him his job.  They both
welcomed him into their group of adventurers with a handshake and a hug.

individuals and should feel comfortable being himself.

Once in the air Ponso, who was sitting behind Luke in the navigators seat
told Samuel they were sorry for the reason he lost his job.  It was
unfortunate that society still took such a dim view of man to man love.  It
was especially sad that a man would initiate an invitation to have sex and
then turn it into a way of getting money through a lawsuit.  Unfortunately
that's how more and more of society thinks today.  It's a claw your way to
the top mentality regardless of who you hurt on your way.

Samuel said that in a way it was his own fault he should have never been
tempted to accompany the guy into the restroom even if the other man did
initiate the invitation.  His biggest regret was that he had worked so hard
to reach a position where he was a senior pilot for United Air and it was
all lost so quickly.  That and the terrible disappointment his parents must
have felt when he lost his position for the reasons he lost it.

Luke asked if Samuels Parents were aware of his sexuality.  "Yes Luke I
have always been upfront with my folks, they're loving people and I knew
they would accept the fact that I was gay".  "My concern is knowing they
gave me more credit than to do something so stupid, and now I've
disappointed them by my reckless actions".

Luke said, "Samuel we've all make our mistakes, we're human and sometimes
we do things that are ridiculous".  "Your parents still love you and more
than likely feel bad that the guy you were with took a cheap shot after
using you for his enjoyment".  "Perhaps you're not giving your mom and dad
enough credit for understanding the situation".

"You may be right Luke, I just feel bad for letting them down".  Laughing
Ponso added, "Samuel maybe after this adventure we're on you'll be world
famous and all else will be forgotten".  Turning to look back at Ponso with
a big smile, Samuel said, "who knows, stranger things have happened".

Luke said, "trust me if you hang around this group very long you'll know
stranger things can happen".

"Actually I kind of like the sound of that, I'm do for some adventure, and
please call me Sam".  "I hope you don't mind me asking, but are all of
these guys gay?"

"Yup!, That we are Sam, and just to start you off on the stranger part of
things, Benjamin whom you've met used to be a ghost and is Thomas's lover".
"Glen is Bill's dad, and is lovers with Robin, Larry, and Darin, Darin is
David's dad.  David and Bill also are lovers".  "Mark and Kristopher are
archeologists and lovers and Ponso is my lover, Brad and Gavin are lovers,
and last but surely not least are Jonathan and Sparkle who are not only
lovers but wizards, and a few hundred years old with special abilities" Oh
and of course now there is you Sam".

Kind of half laughing as he looked at Luke and then Ponso Sam said, "you
spin quite a yarn Luke, surely you don't expect me to buy all that mumble
jumble".  Looking very serious, but trying to hide a grin Ponso said, "it's
just a matter of a slight paradigm shift on your part Sam".



Sparkle, with his brilliant red hair and startling green eyes appeared half
sitting on Luke's right leg and introduced himself to Sam, "hi Sam, I'm
Sparkle and this is my partner Jonathan".  With that Jonathan popped into
view leaning against Ponso.  Sam stared with eyes the size of saucers and

Laughing Luke said, "when you catch your breath Sam, say hi to Jonathan and
Sparkle".



When Sam's eye blinked open he saw Sparkle smiling at him as Jonathan
patted his cheek.  "We're sorry Sam, we didn't mean to scare you".  "What
happened?"  "Why am I on the floor?"

Luke who was having a real belly laugh said, "wow, it's nice to know I'm
not the only one who passes out cold when faced with the unbelievable

Hearing the commotion Thomas steps into the cockpit, "what's going on
guys?"  Sparkle, Jonathan, Ponso, and Luke all speaking at once said, "Sam

of thin air sitting on Luke's leg, and then this other guy Jonathan
appeared standing by Ponso".

"Guys I thought we agreed not to scare people half to death with your
surprise appearances".  "You're suppose to explain what's going to happen

Jonathan said, "Luke did explain that we had special abilities and then
Sparkle and I showed Sam".

Sam thought for a moment before saying, actually Luke did explain they had
special abilities and I said, it was quite a yarn, then these two guys
appeared".  Now I have another question Thomas, "Was Benjamin really a
ghost?"

Tapping Luke on his head with a finger Thomas said, "you gave Sam the Full
Monte from what I'm guessing".  "THOMAS, I didn't do it naked".  Laughing
Thomas said, "Luke I mean you exposed all our secrets all at once, that's a
bit much to expect Samuel or anyone else to absorb at one time".

Looking Samuel in the eye Luke said, "Sam the minute you stepped aboard
this plane you became a part of our group and we're all glad you made that

Having refueled for the last time in Japan, they were now over Ulan Bator
preparing to land.  Once on the ground having been directed to a location
