Beyond the Blue, part 18 by lennoxbear@aol.com

The following is an erotic story involving gay relationships and male to
male sex. If such offends you, leave.

Kenny paced back and forth past the duty desk as Ron finished paperwork and
signed out for the day. He had spent the day feeling confused and very
torn up inside. Bo hadn't come by in the morning to sign out a vehicle.
Steve had come in and told him that Bo had called off but couldn't tell him
much more. No phone calls all day. Kenny knew he couldn't call Bo's house
and leave a message that his wife might intercept, so he spent the day
working on battered police vehicles and cleaning the garage. The
worst-case scenarios passed through his mind all day. By four, the place
was spotless. He sidled up to Ron as the man headed for the door.

"Hey Kenny, how goes it?" Kenny smiled as easily as he could. He had
never had these feelings before to this intensity about someone and not
hearing from Bo was tearing him up.

"Good Ron, good, busy. You know how the guys treat these vehicles. Keeps
us on our toes. Lots of call offs today. I didn't see Bo, Earl or Dirt."

"Yeah, a lot of call offs, at least for us. Actually, Earl is in the
hospital. Guess it's OK to tell people now, since it will be out soon
anyway. He has cancer and it's been getting worse, doesn't look good."

"Shit, I knew he didn't look good but he never complained."

"Nope, he doesn't. A good man, despite the, uh, problem, which is related
to his cancer."

"Sorry to hear that. You going to let us know where he is, I think some of
us should visit. Bo OK? Steve didn't say much."

"Uh, he's got some problems at home I guess, don't know much more. He
didn't call you eh?"

Kenny smiled and laughed. "No, why would he call me of all people?" Ron
walked across the parking lot and leaned against his truck. He scratched
the shadow of beard on his face and smiled.

"You can relax Kenny. I know about you two, it's OK with me. Look, I
don't know what is happening at home, but I am sure he's going to call,
just give him some time. Go to the gym and pump. It'll take your mind off
of things."

Kenny just stared in amazement. His mouth dropped open and he stood on the
spot stammering. "I don't know what to say. I guess we didn't do a very
good job keeping things a secret." Ron unlocked his truck door and put one
leg inside.

"If two people are playing around and having sex, people don't always
notice. But when two people have a change in how they act and behave
together, and how they look at each other, I notice. You two may have
started out playing around and having fun, but it's gone past that point
now hasn't it?"

Kenny looked at the ground and then back up at Ron. "Yeah it has. Is it
that obvious?"

"Yep. Hey, you didn't ask about Dirt?" Kenny straightened up a bit and
tilted his head.

"Well, ya know, Dirt doesn't say a whole lot. No matter how pleasant I try
to be or how much small talk we try to make, he doesn't communicate very
well. I guess he just never warmed up to my charms."

"Yeah right. I can't figure him out very well either. Keep hoping he'll
take early retirement and save us all some confusion. Something about him
I can't quite pin down. We have a new guy transferring in next week to
help where we are short-staffed, let's hope he's normal. Hey, you have a
good evening and try not to let this thing with Bo worry you. He'll need
some time but he's not going away."

"Thanks, Ron, I feel better that I don't have to hide around you. And
thanks for your honesty. You have a good night." Kenny watched Ron drive
off as he walked to his car. He headed for the gym just as Al and Jim
drove off. Steve was still inside finishing up a few sets. He looked at
Kenny's face and knew inside the man was in torment. He waited until Kenny
came back upstairs to workout and then approached.

"Hey bud, how was your day?" Kenny kept working out as he summed up his
day. He commented on all the guys calling off. Started to ask about Bo
but backed off. "Yeah, Bo has some things at home to work through. He
came home from that conference you guys were on and found an empty house.
Everything go OK at the, uh, conference?" Kenny looked at Steve
dumbfounded, so much for any secrecy.

"The weekend went very well, thank you. I didn't know what had happened
with Bo, and I am concerned."

Steve smiled and punched Kenny's thick delt. "I know you are, patience
isn't easy. I'm going to run a few miles, I'll catch up with you before
you leave, OK?"

"Yeah, thanks." Steve headed outdoors to run as Kenny pumped.

Ron thought about all the events going on in his little precinct and
laughed in amazement. Times were changing quickly and he wasn't sure his
men could keep up with the changes. Whoever had sent those letters
couldn't cope, that was clear. It was also clear in Ron's mind it was
someone from inside or who had access to the offices. He had the videotape
from the closed circuit TV in his bag and was going to review it at home.
Ron genuinely cared about these men and hoped everything would work out
quickly. The younger guys had a whole new perspective on life and work and
the adjustment was challenging and interesting to him. They kept him
young. The older guys weren't adjusting well at all, so much for change.

He cruised through the city streets in no hurry to get home. As he turned
a corner, he came across a small group of people gathered around a
building. It was a series of garages, which was not uncommon in this area.
People rented them all the time for their vehicles or storage. There
didn't seem to be any mayhem but curiosity got the better of him. He
parked his truck and walked back. The area was familiar to him as one he
drove through all the time, usually following Al home on his motorcycle.
As he sauntered down the sidewalk, he was certain it was the street and set
of garages Al used. He stopped and stared as his blood ran cold.

Scrawled across the garage door in large red letters, "Die faggot." Well,
the spelling had improved.

Linda walked out of the back bedroom and froze in her tracks. She hadn't
expected Jim to track her down this easily and had been preparing a letter
to him on Janet's computer.

"Oh, you're here." Linda she looked around the room nervously as if for a
place to hide but it was too late.

"Uh, well, yeah. Did you not expect me to look for you?" Jim took deep
breaths to control his emotions.

"I was just writing a letter to you. I'm sorry, this has all happened so
fast." She folded and refolded the letter in her hands.

"Really, I would think moving like that, out of nowhere when I am gone,
would take some coordination." Al hit Jim in the back to get him to calm
down.

She sat down on the sofa and sighed. "I know honey but I didn't know and
wasn't sure what I was feeling. I thought being pregnant might change
that."

"Change what?"

"My love and feelings for Janet." Jim blinked and Al choked.

Al looked at Janet. "You're lovers? The two of you? Lesbian?" Janet sat
next to Linda and shook her head yes. "When did this happen? Does Bo
know? You're lovers?"

"They already said that much." Jim sat in a chair and took several moments
to think. "So what about the baby? And our marriage and our house? I have
so many questions and I'm not sure I understand how this happened."

"Well, the baby is yours." Jim's eyes opened wide. The possibility that
it might not be had never entered his mind. "Janet and I are going to be
busy with her two children we aren't sure we can handle another child."

Al looked at Jim's face. "So what are you going to do about it?" He looked
at her stomach and blushed.

"Oh, I'm going to have the baby, but I expect Jim to raise the child." Al
looked from Jim to his wife and back. "And the child needs a home, so you
keep the house. I am establishing my life with Janet here."

Jim couldn't speak. He sat on the chair and moved his mouth but nothing
came out. Al took a deep breath and walked back across the room to a
window. "Well, that's a first. You shut him up."

"Oh, Jim, I'm so sorry. I didn't want this to happen like this but our
life together isn't right. Jim stammered back to reality.

"Right. Right? Our life together wouldn't work out since you feel this
way. Wouldn't be right. No." Janet looked at him cautiously.

"You're all right with this?"

"Yes. Yes I am. I know that you're both safe now and can relax. If this
is the way it is meant to be, then who am I to stand in the way." Al stood
at the window looking from person to person. He opened his mouth to say
something but couldn't quite figure out how to put it into words.

"Then can we get together and work out the details with our lawyer soon?"

"Yes. Yes we can." Al pointed back and forth, but still no words. Janet
looked at him and got up to take his arm.

"Al, they seem to be OK with this, don't rock the boat." He looked at her
with his mouth still open. Linda got up to hug Jim. They agreed to make
an appointment and begin divorce proceedings and work out details over the
baby. Jim walked toward the door to leave and motioned toward Al. Al kept
pointing back and forth. Jim pushed him out the door. Janet stopped Jim.
"Don't tell Bo, please. I have to do that."

Jim turned and smiled. "Oh we wouldn't think of saying anything or
interfering." He kissed Linda lightly on the forehead and pushed Al toward
the door. Outside he hurried Al toward the truck and climbed in.

"Did what I think just happened, really happen?" Al sat behind the wheel
in shock. Jim leaned across the seat, grabbed him by the back of the neck
and crushed their lips together.

Steve sat in the sauna and dripped more sweat, as if he hadn't done enough
on his run. Kenny came in and sat down next to him but not before Steve
noticed his ample dick and smiled to himself. Now he knew why Bo was so
happy. Kenny took a deep breath and stretched his legs.

"So. What's going on with Bo?"

"Well, last I talked with him, late this afternoon, Jim and Al thought they
knew where his wife was and they were on their way over there after the gym
to confront Jim's wife."

"Jim's wife?"

"Yeah, they think she might be sharing a place with Bo's wife. Seems that
both women moved out of their homes over the weekend while you boys were at
that, uh, conference." Steve looked straight at Kenny's eyes when he said
that. Unfortunately, Marsh and Jack walked in at that time and heard part
of this conversation. Steve groaned internally and rolled his eyes.

"Hey, big brother, don't roll your eyes at me that way. How's it
hang... oh my." Marsh got sight of Kenny's big prick and sat down across
from him.

"Kenny this is my brother, Marsh and his buddy, Jack." Kenny waved
nervously across the room.

"Yeah, I recognize them from around the gym, nice to meet ya."

"So, what conference did you guys go to that made two wives move out?"
Marsh felt Jack's flat hand slap him on the butt and he blinked. "What?"

Jack stared at him indignantly. Steve placed a hand on Kenny's arm who was
about to bolt from the sauna.

"Kenny, it's OK. I know the whole story and these guys know what's going
on with Jim and Al, so it's only a matter of time before they figure out
the rest. Believe me, better to have Marsh on your side at the beginning
rather than augmenting the story second-hand." Kenny let out a shakey low
sigh. Marsh snorted indignantly.

"Oh, god, I've ruined a man's life."

Jack leaned over toward Kenny and pointed a finger. "Now, you don't know
that, all we heard was that two women moved out over the weekend."

"But, I'm fooling around with a married man and his wife probably found out
and will ruin his life and they have kids and a home. Shit"

Steve felt a twinge of emotion for Kenny and worked to hold back any more
emotion. "From what I can figure, Bo went into all of this willingly. You
don't know what is happening with his wife, so there is no reason to beat
yourself up over the whole situation. You need to wait until you hear from
Bo. I know it can't be easy but somehow you need to calm yourself and try
to be patient." Marsh and Jack sat back and agreed.

"No sense getting yourself all worked up over something if you don't have
the facts." Kenny leaned back against the sauna wall again and absently
adjusted his dick. Marsh and Jack looked at each other and gulped.

Steve scowled at the two of them and hit Kenny on the triceps. "Hey why
don't we shower and grab a quick dinner someplace. Keep your mind occupied
for awhile." Marsh was about to suggest something else but Steve shot him
a look to shut up.

"Yeah, you're right. OK, I'm going to hit the showers, see ya in the
locker room. Nice to meet you guys, thanks for your input." He got up and
walked out of the shower as the two men watched the long prick swing from
side to side. Steve got up and swung at them.

"Stop it you two, the man needs support not a quick fuck."

"Who said it would be quick? And besides, you have no place to talk from
what I am seeing." Steve looked down at his half hard cock and felt his
face go red.

"You know what I mean." He laughed in spite of his cock and left the two
men to amuse themselves.

Bo stood outside the apartment building and stared at his wife's car. His
heart was pounding as his mind raced. Every negative thing about their
lives together rushed through his mind. He had gone through every scenario
in his mind all day on how she could possibly have found out about his
fooling around with Kenny. Even though things were going to end, he didn't
want it to be down and dirty. Now he wasn't sure what to expect. He
plodded up the steps and looked at the directory. His wife's name was
penciled on a button. There was a long pause then a woman answered. He
looked at the intercom and opened his mouth.

Linda?" A rush of activity came over the speaker and suddenly he heard his
wife.

"BO?" He stood on the doorstep and looked around for confirmation of where
he was.

"Janet?" The door buzzed and he entered the lobby. He found the door and
stood outside as it slowly opened. "Hi. Uh, I, well, I don't know what to
say." She motioned him in and he stood inside among boxes and a partially
organized living room. He recognized furniture from both his and Jim's
house. He stood in the small entry area, a big, beefy hunk of confused
muscle.

"Bo, I know you deserve better than the silly message I left but I didn't
want to make it a mean Dear John letter. I do love you but I want to live
my life another way." She looked up at the big man's dark intense eyes as
he struggled to understand.

"There's another man?"

"No, that would be me." He turned to see Linda walk from the back of the
apartment.

"What?"

Janet took his arm and steered him toward the sofa to sit down. "Bo, there
isn't another man. There's a woman."

"There is? Linda?" He looked from one to the other. "You're together?
Like a couple? Lesbian?"

"Yes, Bo." She went on to explain how their friendship and love developed
over the last year and how they fought over whether or not it was the right
thing to do. Then, when this conference came up and Bo and Jim were away at
the same time, they realized the time was now or never. They wanted to
live their lives together as two women in love.

"Linda?'

"I think I'm about to be offended." Linda looked at Bo with an accusatory
stare. Bo sat bolt upright.

"No, no. Not what I meant. But, I've been beating myself up all day
thinking there was another man or that you had, oh, never mind, it doesn't
matter what I was thinking. I was totally wrong. But what about the kids?
You're mother can't raise them."

"No, she can't. Linda and I will, if that is OK with you. I have no
intention of cutting you out of their lives, I know how much you love them
and if you want to take this to court over custody, you have every right."

"I think they should be with their mother." Janet looked at Bo with a
cautious feeling. "I'm just the type of guy who knows he couldn't raise
children on his own. I mean, it would be different if you were dead...."

"Bo!"

"No, I mean, I would probably meet another woman if you, oh, but, see, I
don't think being a single father, oh good grief. I'm making this
worse. Aren't I? I'm just a bit confused, when this all happened, I don't
understand how I missed it."

"We were very careful and, besides, we didn't realize what was transpiring
until a few months ago ourselves. We just decided that we wanted to live
our lives as two women in love. Is that so wrong?"

'No! No, not at all. If it's what you want, I guess I am OK, with it, I
mean who am I to stand in the way?"

"Wow, I must say, I am amazed by you guys." Linda got up to go to the
kitchen as she said this and Bo looked more confused.

"Jim and Al were here earlier and Jim handled it very well but Al, poor
dear, seemed very confused. Just kept stuttering and pointing."

"They were here together?"

"Yes. Seems like they're always together anymore. And we were afraid
people would talk about us. They better get a life or people will think
they're gay." Linda and Janet laughed hysterically over their joke as Bo
sat nervously on the edge of the sofa.

"Yeah, uh, right. Well, I guess we have a lot to talk about. I am a bit
surprised that you didn't want the house.

"Oh, I've decided that maybe I do, but maybe we need to sell it outright so
we can buy another."

"But the kids like that place."

"They'll adapt." Bo got up to leave feeling a bit overwhelmed by the
change in events and feeling even more overwhelmed with guilt for not
speaking up about being gay. He figured he needed to keep under covers
until some things fell into place.

Janet hugged him at the door. "Look, Bo, let's not do anything until next
week. We need to give ourselves some time to plan things through." He
agreed and headed for the front door. He stopped on the front steps and
held his head. Things were not at all what he thought they would be. They
were even sillier. He jumped in his truck and roared down the street. A
few blocks later he parked the big beast in the first space he found to
accommodate it. As he walked down the sidewalk he thought about his future
as a divorced gay man.

Kenny thanked Steve for dinner and the opportunity to talk things through.
The dinner was not without tense moments. Their knees kept touching under
the table and Steve was more than a good-looking man. Kenny wanted to be
in Bo's arms right now but if he couldn't be with Bo, well then. Part of
him felt relaxed knowing that he didn't have to hide in front of everyone
anymore, especially people at work that mattered to him. But, part of him
was still very nervous about Bo and what was happening with his wife. He
couldn't admit to Steve that he was upset and terrified about Bo suddenly
no longer being part of his life. They had just had a weekend together
that proved his feelings for Bo were more than just sex. He had been on
his own too long and liked having one man around which to center his life.
What he would do if Bo pulled away was scary.

As he walked the five blocks from the restaurant to his apartment, his
stomach once again began doing flip-flops. Without Steve there to give him
verbal reassurance, he found himself thinking of his life alone. The
figure of a man on the front steps of his building caught his eye as he
rounded the corner. His pace quickened as the tall thick figure became
clearer. Bo stood up and walked toward him. He couldn't tell what to
expect from the look on Bo's face. They met about 50 feet from the door to
his building. Bo grabbed Kenny by the waist and pulled them together. His
right hand came up and cradled Kenny's head as the two men kissed in the
middle of the street, in front of everyone coming and going for the
evening.

Bo's big arms held Kenny tightly. His hands moved up and down the hard
taut body. Their tongues wrestled back and forth as they lost themselves
in the kiss. They broke the long kiss to breathe and Kenny held the beefy
black man tightly. "I don't know if I've said this but I love you and I
want us to be together.

"So do I." Other men on the street stopped to applaud as the two men
continued to embrace totally unaware of the scene they were causing.

Jim ignored Al's questions as he drove them to his house. Al asked what he
was doing. He had left his bike at work. Weren't they going to pick it
up? Jim paid no attention and kept driving. He squealed to a halt in his
own driveway and jumped from the truck. He ran around to the passenger
side and threw open the door. Al looked at him with distrust. Jim yanked
Al from the truck by his belt and bent over to throw the beefy load over
his shoulder. Somehow he managed to open the front door and carry the man
inside the house. Fuck the neighbors and whatever they might see.

Al laughed, "Jim, what are you doing?" Jim dropped him in the living room
and pulled the T-shirt from his massive upper body. "Jeez, fucker, calm
down."

"No, this is going to be our home together. And right now I can't think of
anyone I would rather be with." He stripped off his clothes and started
pulling at Al's jeans and shoes. As soon as Al was naked Jim pushed him up
the stairs into the bedroom and sent him sprawling across the bed. Jim
held him by his ankles and slowly climbed up Al's thick muscular body,
kissing and licking along the slow journey. He lay on Al's chest as the
big man moaned. "I've never, ever, felt about anyone, the way I feel about
you. These last few weeks, you are the only thing on my mind. Al, I love
you and I want us to be together, here, making a life as a couple."

Before Al could answer, Jim pressed his lips against the big man's full
thick mouth and rubbed his unshaven cheek against another unshaven cheek.
The killer arms squeezed Jim's back until Jim felt his breath would give
out. Jim squirmed free and fought to pin Al's arms back. He knew the big
man let him win as Jim pressed his wrists into the mattress. "You know we
have to tell your wife at some point?" Jim mumbled yes as he munched on
the big tits. "And if we live together, everyone we know is going to think
it. That we're gay."

"They won't have to think it if we tell them first. I don't care what they
think. You are my life and focus. I can't hide how I feel. I don't care
if I lose my job. I love you dammit." Al looked at the depth of emotion
in Jim's deep blue eyes and felt his soul join Jim's.

"I love you too. I guess I have almost from the time you became my
partner. Why did it take five years to feel this good?"
