This isn't the story for you.
Hope everyone is enjoying the story. Here's part
three entitled "Divine Intervention"
"DIVINE INTERVENTION"
Tyler, Randal, Marcus, and Jake were hanging out at
Randal's apartment talking.
"Can you believe they haven't had contact with each
other for over a week?" Jake asked
"I know, it's so strange. Those two used to be
inseperable." Marcus added
"You guys we just have to stay upbeat about this and
act normal, Kyle's going to be here any minute and you
know how upset he gets when we bring up David." Randal
said
"I'm kind of pissed at David for doing this to him."
Tyler said
"You can't get too mad at him." Marcus replied "I'm
sure it's really hard having that strong of feelings
for someone you know you can never have."
"Still, he should have tried harder to make things
okay between him and Kyle." Tyler said
"Well, we all have different ways of dealing with our
emotions. David's just doing what he feels he has to
do." Randal said
"I guess." Tyler replied
They then heard a knock on the door.
"You guys that's Kyle, let's just drop this." Randal
said answering the door.
"Hey guys." Kyle said walking in.
"Hey Kyle." Marcus said sympathetically
"How you feeling?" Tyler asked
"I'm fine." Kyle replied
"Everything going all right?" Jake asked
"Yea, everything's fine." Kyle answered
"Can we get you a drink or anything?" Tyler asked
"I can get it myself, thanks." Kyle said smiling
"It's no trouble, we can get it." Jake said
"You guys, you don't have to be so fragile with me.
I'm not glass, I won't break." Kyle said taking off
his jacket
"We're just worried about you." Marcus said
"I'm fine. David wants to stay away from me, I'll get
over it." Kyle replied
"But it's David." Jake said
"I'll be right back." Kyle said heading to the kitchen
"I told you guys to act normal." Randal whispered
harshly following Kyle into the kitchen.
Kyle went into the refridgerator and pulled out a
beer.
"Sorry Kyle." Randal said walking in "I told them to
not bring anything up."
"It's fine." Kyle said drinking his beer.
"We're probably just going to go to the club, is that
cool?" Randal asked
"Yea, sounds good." Kyle replied
"All right." Randal said "We'll take off in about ten
minutes then."
"Cool." Kyle said as they walked back into the living
room area.
"Sorry Kyle, we didn't mean to upset you." Marcus said
"Don't worry about it." Kyle replied sitting on the
couch.
They all sat around none of them were really sure what
to say to Kyle.
"You guys don't have to do this." Kyle said
"Do what?" Tyler asked
"You don't have to try and think of things to talk
about that have nothing to do with David. I don't
mind if you guys talk about him. It's cool." Kyle
replied
"Doesn't it bother you?" Tyler asked
"No, it's actually kind of good." Kyle replied "I
think I was too dependent on David always being there
with me. I have a new found independence."
"You don't miss hanging out with him?" Tyler asked
"No, not really. I mean now that I think about it,
David and I were hanging out together way too much."
Kyle replied
"But he's your best friend." Jake said
"He WAS my best friend. Now he's just a person I
know." Kyle answered
"Whoa." Marcus said "That's pretty harsh."
"If he could drop me so quickly, I can do the same
thing to him." Kyle said cooly
"Is this some sort of revenge?" Tyler asked
"No, it's just me not caring anymore." Kyle answered
"Now come on, let's go to the club."
The guys looked at each other not sure what to say to
that.
"Um..all right." Randal said getting up.
On the walk there Randal, Marcus, Tyler and Jake
weren't sure what to talk about to Kyle. Kyle getting
tired of the silence asked..
"Hows the new living situation going on with you two?"
Kyle asked Tyler and Jake.
"It's going good." Jake replied
"Yea, it's been a lot easier since he moved in." Tyler
agreed
"What do you mean by easier?" Kyle asked
"Oh, um, it's just that Jake and I hang out a lot so
it's easier when him and I are living together." Tyler
answered quickly
"That's cool." Kyle replied
Tyler and Jake exchanged a nervous look.
"So do you have anything planned for next week?"
Marcus asked Kyle
"What do you mean?" Kyle asked confused
"Your birthday." Marcus replied
"Wow, I forgot about that." Kyle answered
"Is there anything you want to do?" Jake asked
Kyle showed a hint of pain in his face, remembering a
tradition him and David do every year for his
birthday.
"I guess I might go horseback riding." Kyle replied
"Oh that's right, you do that every year." Tyler said
"With...David." Jake added
"Oh, sorry Kyle. I didn't mean to bring up a sore
subject." Marcus said
Kyle just walked with the guys, suddenly feeling very
angry towards David.
When the guys got to the club Randal went behind the
bar to work and Marcus, Kyle, Jake and Tyler went out
on the dance floor. As Randal was serving drinks he
was very suprised to see David come up and sit down.
"Hey." David said
"What are you doing here?" Randal asked suprised
"Wasn't working today so I thought I'd come down and
see how you're doing." David replied "haven't seen you
in a while."
"Yea, I know. This really isn't a good time though."
Randal said
David looked at Randal confused "Are you pissed at me
for what I did to Kyle?"
"No, it's not that at all. I understand why you're
doing it. But the guys are here now." Randal said
"Marcus, Tyler and Jake?" David asked
"And Kyle." Randal added
"Oh." David replied understanding
"Yea." Randal said
"Thanks. I'm gunna just hang out for a little bit
then I'll probably leave." David said
"All right. I'll call you tomorrow okay?" Randal said
"Okay, I'll see you." David said heading off.
As David was walking away, Kyle headed over to the bar
and the two bumped into each other.
"Oh sorry." David said not really noticing it was Kyle
until the two made eye contact. "Kyle."
"Um, hi." Kyle replied suprised
"How are you?" David asked
"David you don't have to make conversation. I was
just on my way to go see Randal." Kyle replied
starting to walk off.
"I wasn't just making conversation." David said "I
wanted to know how you were."
"Why? You think that just because you decided to drop
me that I would become a wreck?" Kyle asked harshly
"No." David said nervously "That's not what I meant."
"I'm fine. In fact, I'm great. Never better." Kyle
said
"What's wrong with you?" David asked knowing that Kyle
isn't normally so crude.
"Nothing, I just find it odd that you're still talking
to a guy you shut out of your life." Kyle replied
"I'm going to go walk around." David said
"Fine. Bye." Kyle said turning and heading over to
the bar.
David watched Kyle go said quietly, "Bye."
Kyle walked up to Randal and sat down at the bar.
"I saw you ran into David." Randal said handing Kyle a
beer. "You all right?"
"I'm fine." Kyle replied drinking the beer.
Back on the dance floor Marcus was being eyed by a
good looking guy, mid-20's, 6'3 nice build.
"You want to dance?" The guy asked coming up to
Marcus.
"Sure." Marcus replied, he turned back to Jake and
Tyler "I'll see you guys later."
Marcus then went off and started dancing with the guy.
Tyler and Jake moved closer to each other to talk.
"Tyler, you almost blurted out that we've been
sleeping together." Jake said
"They didn't catch on." Tyler replied
"But they could have." Jake said
"So what if they did?" Tyler asked "It's no big deal,
we've just been having sex casually, we're not in a
relationship or anything."
"Yea, but still it's not something I want the guys to
find out." Jake replied
"Well don't worry." Tyler said moving a little closer
"So, if neither of us meet any guys tonight, you
wanna?"
"Sounds good." Jake replied as the two continued
dancing together.
"Hey, by the way, have you noticed that Kyle's been a
little bit bitter lately?" Tyler asked changing the
subject
"It's because of David." Jake answered
"I know, but I never would have thought that Kyle
would get cold like that. He's always been the sweet
one out of all of us." Tyler said concerned
"He just needs some time." Jake said
"You think?" Tyler asked "I mean, what if Kyle's
gentleness and kindness is because of his relationship
with David?"
"If it continues for a while then we'll talk to him
about it. But I don't want to press him too much
right now." Jake said
"I agree. But we should keep an eye on him." Tyler
said
"Definitely." Jake agreed
A few feet away from Jake and Randal, Marcus was
getting to know the guy he was dancing with.
"My name's Thomas by the way." the guy said
"Hey, my name's Marcus."
The two got closer together.
"have you been coming here long?" Marcus asked
"Yea, actually, I've wanted to approach you for a
while." Thomas said
"Really?" Marcus asked "How long?"
"About a month." Thomas replied "I always see you come
in here with the bartender, and a few other guys."
"Yea, those are my friends I hang out with." Marcus
said "So, what made you decide to come up to me
tonight?"
"I don't know. I just decided to seize the day I
guess." Thomas replied
"Well, I'm glad you did." Marcus said smiling
The two got even closer together and put their arms on
each other's waste.
Back at the bar Kyle was drinking his beer when a guy,
6'1 blonde hair, brown eyes, runners body, came up to
him to talk.
"Hey." The guys said smiling
"Hi." Kyle replied
"My name's Mark." he said
"Kyle." Kyle replied shaking his hand
"You want to dance?" Mark asked
"Sure." Kyle replied finishing his beer. Him and Mark
moved to the dance area and started dancing. Kyle
tried having a good time, but couldn't seem to get
David off his mind.
"You all right?" Mark asked
"Me? Yea why?" Kyle asked
"You look a little down." Mark replied
"I'm fine." Kyle replied
"You want something to get you up in a better mood?"
Mark asked taking out a bottle of pills
"No." Kyle answered quickly
"Come on, it'll make you feel better." Mark said
opening up the bottle
"I said No!" Kyle shouted knocking the bottle away
from him. The bottle fell on the ground spilling the
pills all over.
"What the hell dude?" Mark yelled
"Serves you right you son of a bitch." Kyle said cooly
"Those pills cost money you dumb ass." Mark asked
angrily
"Excuse me?" Kyle asked insulted
"You heard me." Mark replied putting some of the pills
back in the bottle.
"Why don't you take that bottle, and shove it up your
ass, cause I bet that's the most sex you'll ever get!"
Kyle yelled, walking away from the dance floor. Tyler
and Jake who were right by them, heard the whole
thing. Kyle walked back to the bar and sat down.
"What's wrong?" Randal asked seeing the anger in
Kyle's face.
"That dumb ass was trying to get me to use drugs to
loosen me up." Kyle replied
"Wow, Kyle, never seen you that angry before." Randal
pointed out
"Whatever, can you hook me up with a beer?" Kyle asked
"Yea, sure." Randal replied handing him one.
"Kyle what happened back there?" Tyler asked
"It's nothing." Kyle replied
"You know for all the time we've known each other, I
never have seen you yell at someone like that before."
Jake said
"I get worse," Kyle said sipping his beer,
"especially, around annoying people."
"What's that supossed to mean?" Tyler asked taking it
personal
"Nevermind, I'm going home. Later." Kyle said setting
down his beer, then walking away.
"Was he insulting us?" Jake asked
"I don't know." Tyler replied
Kyle walked out of the club and was beginning to walk
away when someone grabbed his arm. Kyle quickly
turned around to face David.
"What are you doing?" Kyle asked moving his arm away
from David's grasp.
"What the hell was that in there?" David asked
"I thought you left?" Kyle asked
"No, I just hanging out for a little bit. I was about
to leave, but I saw you yelling at that guy you were
dancing with." David explained
"So?" Kyle asked
"So, it's not like you." David replied
"Maybe you don't know me as well as you think." Kyle
said bitterly
"I know you probably better than you know yourself."
David answered
"If that's the case, then you'd know why I yelled at
that guy in there." Kyle shot back.
"What's wrong with you?" David asked
"To tell you the truth, I'm a little annoyed with you
talking to me so much tonight." Kyle began, "You're
the one who wanted space from me, and I'm trying to
give you that, but it's a little hard when you keep
talking to me!"
"Kyle, I do need space, but that doesn't mean I don't
care about you." David replied hoping to get Kyle to
soften up.
"What do you want?" Kyle asked annoyed that David is
still talking to him.
"Listen, I know that your upset about the situation
with you and me, and maybe that's why you're a little
bitter lately." David said
"I'm not saying that my personality has changed, but
if it has, don't flatter yourself and think it's
because of you, cause it's not." Kyle snapped, glaring
at David.
"Okay, fine sorry." David said
"You know, we aren't hanging out because you said you
wanted space from me, but, you know, I actually want
space from you now. So leave me alone." Kyle said
turning and walking away.
David watched Kyle walk away, knowing that he's
hurting more than he's letting on.
When Kyle got to his car in front of Randal's
apartment he opened the glove compartment and took out
a picture of him and David together. In the picture
the two of them are hanging out at Marcus's house
cuddling together on the couch and smiling. Kyle
looked at the picture, showing a glimpse of pain in
his face for what's happened between him and David.
He put the picture away and drove back to his place.
The next day, Tyler and Jake woke up in Tyler's bed
together, after having a busy night with one another.
"This whole friends with benefits thing is working out
pretty well." Jake said
"Yea, it is." Tyler agreed, "Keeps our sexual energy
while we look for the right guys."
"Well, I should get going to work." Jake said getting
up.
"Sure you don't want to go another round?" Tyler asked
smiling devilishly
"Sorry, can't. I've been late to work all week and my
manager is getting pissed." Jake replied
"All right." Tyler said getting up also, "I actually
should get down to the resteraunt, I'm trying to help
out that one new waiter who drops things all the
time."
"He still dropping things?" Jake asked
"Yea, I'd fire him, but he really needs this job."
Tyler replied putting on a pair of pants.
"Good luck with that." Jake said
Tyler went to his dresser and put on a shirt.
"So did Marcus and that guy he was dancing with go out
after the club?" Tyler asked
"I think so." Jake replied
"Wow, that's the first guy he's gone out with for a
month." Tyler said "I thought he was about ready to
give up on guys like Kyle."
"I know, but I think Marcus and that guy really hit it
off." Jake said
Over at Marcus's house, him and his dancing partner
from the club, Thomas woke up in bed together.
"That was great." Thomas said kissing Marcus.
"So, maybe we should go out again sometime." Marcus
said
"You free tonight?" Thomas asked
"Sounds good." Marcus answered
"Great, I'll stop by after work." Thomas said
"Okay." Marcus replied getting out of bed
Over at Randal's apartment, he woke up with two guys
he has hooked up with a couple times before.
"Morning boys." Randal said getting out of bed and
putting on his boxers.
"That was quite a night." one of the guys said
"Glad you called us up." the second guy said
"Same here." Randal replied putting a shirt on
"You working at the club tonight?" the first guy asked
"No, it's my night off." Randal said
"All right, well we'll take off now. Call us up if
you want to do this again." the second guy said as
they got out of bed.
"Okay, bye guys." Randal said as they put on their
clothes and left.
Over at David's apartment, he woke up alone in bed,
unlike his other friends. He looked at the bed-side
table and found himself starring at a picture of him
and Kyle together. He let out a sigh and then slowly
got out of bed. As he began walking into the kitchen
to get a drink the phone rang.
"Hello?" David asked picking up the phone
"Hey it's Randal."
"Hey Randal." David replied
"I'm off of work today do you want to hang out?"
Randal asked
"I have to work until noon today. You want to meet
somewhere at around one?" David asked
"Sounds good. Just come by my place when you get off
work." Randal said
"All right. Bye." David said hanging up the phone.
He got himself a glass of orange juice and went back
to his room to get ready for work.
At Kyle's apartment, he woke up alone as well. He
doesn't have work today. Ussually the first person he
would talk to on his days off would be David and they
two would hang out, but things are different now.
Kyle slowly got up out of bed and called up Randal.
"You want to hang out today?" Kyle asked
"Sorry, Kyle, I'm going to go see David." Randal
replied
"Oh." Kyle answered a little upset.
"Kyle, I know things aren't cool between you two, but
I'm still friends with him." Randal explained
"I don't care if you hang out with him." Kyle said in
a pissy tone
"Are you all right?" Randal asked
"I'm fine." Kyle snapped "I have to go."
With that Kyle hung up the phone and stormed into the
bathroom to take a shower.
Back at Tyler and Jake's place, Randal called them up.
"What the hell is going on with Kyle?" Randal asked
"He's turned into an-"
"Ass." Jake said completing Randal's sentence.
"You've noticed it too?" Randal asked
"Yea, we noticed it last night. We what did he do to
you?" Jake asked
"He got all pissed at me because I'm going to go hang
out with David today." Randal replied
"Tyler and I were going to wait a little to see if
this continues before talking to him." Jake said
"Well, maybe we should consider talking to him now."
Randal suggested
"But we know that he's so mad lately because of David,
although he won't admit it." Jake said
"Then maybe we should get him to admit that he misses
David." Randal said
"What if that drives Kyle further away?" Jake asked
"I'm willing to risk it," Randal began, "I'd rather
take a chance to get the old Kyle back instead of
putting up with the way he's acting now."
"Fine, should we meet tonight?" Jake asked
"Yea, let's meet at your place. You should call him,
he probably doesn't want to talk to me today." Randal
replied
"All right, so come by at around seven all right?"
Jake asked
"I'll be there." Randal answered hanging up.
Later that day Marcus was at his office doing some
paper work when Jake called.
"Hey Marcus, intervention with Kyle tonight at seven
at my place." Jake said
"Wait, what?" Marcus asked confused
"Kyle has been acting like a jerk lately, and it has
to do with David, so we're going to talk to him
tonight." Jake replied
"I have a date tonight." Marcus said
"Do you have to go?" Jake asked "This is important."
"Fine, I'll call him and cancel, but are you sure
about this?" Marcus asked, "I mean if you know this is
about David then just let Kyle vent for a little bit."
"Kyle's already become a jerk, I don't want to stand
around and see how much worse he can get." Jake
answered
"I haven't noticed a change in him." Marcus pointed
out
"Trust me." Jake said "He insulted Tyler and me last
night, and then today he got all pissy with Randal
because he's going to go hang out with David."
"All right, I'll be there tonight." Marcus said
"Talk to you later." Jake said hanging up.
Marcus then got on the phone to cancel his plans with
Thomas.
Later that day, Randal and David were hanging out
at Randal's place drinking beer.
"So how are things going?" Randal asked
"They're okay." David replied "It's hard."
"I understand." Randal answered
"Is Kyle all right?" David asked
"No." Randal replied "He's really hurting I think, but
he won't show it. He's become kind of a jerk."
"I kinda noticed last night." David said "He chewed me
out last night."
"He did?" Randal asked
"Yea, I've never seen him like that before," David
said, "He's so angry at me now."
"I'm not trying to take sides here, but can you blame
him?" Randal asked, "I mean, you were a constant thing
in his life. He always knew he could come to you and
when that got taken away from him, it made him angry."
"I know, but it's never been like Kyle to get so cold
like that. Whenever he's been angry he wouldn't let
it affect the way he treated people." David replied
"Because you were always there for him." Randal
pointed out "Remember last year when his parents
dropped Kyle from their lives because he told them he
was gay?"
"Yea." David replied "He was crushed."
"I know, but you were there for him. You stayed with
him every night with him and because you were there he
made it through." Randal said
"I don't think I have that much of an impact on his
life." David said
"Yes you do." Randal replied, "That's why this is
hurting Kyle so much. You two had a really special
bond with each other. You two even have traditions
together. Don't you guys go horseback riding every
year on his birthday?"
"Oh crap." David said, suddenly feeling more guilty,
"Next week is his birthday."
"And you won't be there." Randal said, "Maybe that's
why Kyle's so upset."
"This is really bad." David said, "I can't believe I'm
going to break tradition with him."
"You don't have to." Randal replied
"I can't." David said, "The only way I can get over
him is if I stay away from him."
Randal and David sat there, both feeling bad for Kyle.
Back at Kyle's apartment, Jake called him.
"Hey, can you come over here at around seven?" Jake
asked
"Why?" Kyle replied
"To just hang out." Jake answered
"Listen, I don't need your guys' pity because of
David." Kyle snapped
"We aren't going to give you pity." Jake shot back,
"Just come over."
"Fine." Kyle replied hanging up the phone.
Kyle went into the kitchen and started going through
his mail. He found a card from his aunt and uncle.
When he opened it up he, he found it was a birthday
card for him. Kyle sat there thinking of his birthday
the past four years and how David and him always went
riding together. Kyle remembered what a suprise it
was when David first took Kyle riding.
****FLASHBACK****
Kyle and David got out of David's car and walked up
towards a ranch.
"What are we doing here?" Kyle asked
"It's my birthday gift to you." David replied
"My birthday gift?" Kyle asked, "You didn't have to
get me anything."
"I wanted to. After you were telling me about how you
used to go horseback riding every summer at your
Grandpa's farm when you were younger, I thought this
would be nice." David replied
Kyle's face lit up.
"You're taking me horseback riding?" Kyle asked
smiling
"Yea." David replied
Kyle grabbed David and hugged him tightly.
"You're the best!" Kyle exclaimed
"Happy birthday." David said
****END FLASHBACK****
Kyle went to the living room area and went to look a
framed picture of him and David with the horses they
ride on his birthday. He took the picture and put it
in a desk drawer so he wouldn't have to look at it
anymore.
Back at his office, Marcus was on the phone with
Thomas cancelling his date for tonight.
"It's not that I don't want to see you tonight, I just
have responsibilities as a friend to take care of."
Marcus said
"I understand." Thomas replied kindly
"Good, because I don't want things to end now, when it
has the potential to be something great." Marcus said
"Me neither." Thomas answered, "How about going out
tomorrow?"
"Sounds good." Marcus replied
"So, what's going on tonight that makes you have to
cancel?" Thomas asked
"It's my friend, he's been acting different lately.
We're just going to talk to him and make sure he's all
right." Marcus replied
"That's sweet of you guys." Thomas said
"We watch out for each other." Marcus answered
"That's good." Thomas replied, "Well, I have to get
back to work."
"All right, call me tomorrow." Marcus said
"I will." Thomas replied hanging up.
Over at Randal's place, David was getting ready
to leave.
"Listen, I'm sorry if I made you feel bad about Kyle."
Randal said walking David to the door.
"No, it's fine." David replied
"How much longer do you plan to stay away from him?"
Randal asked
"I don't know." David replied honestly, "Part of me
just wants to go to him right now, but I'm still in
love with him, and I can't torture myself over him
knowing I'll never be with him."
"Well, when you're ready, Tyler and Jake still want to
set you up on that blind date." Randal said smiling
"All right." David answered, "I'll see you."
"Bye David." Randal said as David left.
Randal then grabbed his keys and headed out to go over
to Jake and Tyler's apartment.
Seven o'clock, Randal and Marcus arrived at Jake
and Tyler's place. The four of them sat around
waiting for Kyle to show up.
"He said he was coming right?" Randal asked
"Yea, he was kind of pissy about it, but he said he
was coming." Jake said
"You guys thing this is a good idea?" Tyler asked, "I
mean, all of us ganging up on him like this."
"We're not ganging up on him." Randal pointed out,
"We're just trying to help him."
"And we don't want him to get worse." Jake added
"I still haven't noticed any real change in his
attitude." Marcus said
"Well, you probably will tonight." Randal said
With that there was a knock on the door.
"Come in." Tyler called out
Kyle came in and saw all the guys sitting on the couch
starring at him.
"What the hell is going on?" Kyle asked
"Want to sit down?" Tyler asked
"No, not until someone tells me what's going on."
Kyle said standing still
"We just want to talk." Jake replied
"This is about David isn't it?" Kyle asked
None of the guys said anything.
"I told you all, I'm fine." Kyle replied, "I'm getting
out of here."
Kyle turned and headed towards the front door, but
Randal and Jake hurried and grabbed Kyle's arms.
"What the hell?" Kyle snapped, "Get off me."
"Just sit down." Randal said forcing Kyle down on the
couch.
"I don't want to talk about David." Kyle said
"Too bad." Jake replied
"Go to hell." Kyle said bitterly
"We know the only reason you've been cold lately is
because of David." Randal said
"We're just trying to help." Tyler said
"Listen, just because David isn't around doesn't mean
that I've changed." Kyle retorted
"Yes you have." Jake said, "You're not the sweet guy
we know."
"You're an ass." Randal said
"I don't have to put up with this." Kyle said getting
up
"Sit down!" Marcus exclaimed sharply. Kyle looked at
Marcus in shock.
"Excuse me?" Kyle asked insulted.
"Just sit down." Marcus said, "If you keep up that
attitude you're not only going to loose David, but all
of us as well."
Kyle thought that over for a minute and then sat back
down.
"Fine, I'm listening." Kyle said
"I know you're hurting." Marcus said, "And I know you
might not want to admit it because you want to show
that you can live with out him."
"I was talking to David today, and he is broken up
about all this just as much as you are." Randal added,
"We know that he was always the one you went to when
something bad happened to you, and now that you can't
go to him anymore you're trying to supress your true
feelings."
"He might not be here anymore, but we're still here."
Tyler said
"It's okay to get pissed." Jake said, "But don't hide
what you're really pissed about."
"You want to know what I'm pissed about?" Kyle asked
sharply. The guys braced themselves for Kyle to curse
them out. "I'm pissed that I can't see David anymore.
I'm pissed that I can't talk to him, I'm pissed that
he's supossed to be my best friend, but he just
decided to stay away from me. And I'm pissed because
it's my birthday next week and he won't be there!"
The guys sat there, glad that Kyle finally admited
that his feelings.
"We know this is hard for you." Tyler said
"He just dropped me from his life." Kyle said quietly
"It wasn't an easy thing for him to do." Jake said
"Then he shouldn't have done it." Kyle replied
"But think about what he was going through." Marcus
said, "He was in love with you for over a year. If
he's going to move on, he needs to get over you."
"He'll come back to you." Tyler said
"And he's going to miss my birthday." Kyle said,
"Every year him and I went horseback riding, it's
these little things about him that I miss so much."
"Can I ask you a personal question?" Jake asked
"Sure." Kyle replied
"Is there any chance you could become involved with
David? I mean, if you loved him like he loves you
then that could solve everything." Jake said
"I don't do relationships." Kyle said quickly
"Why not?" Jake asked
"I just don't like them." Kyle said avoiding the
question
"Then you're just going to have to give him time."
Tyler chimed in, "Eventually it'll turn out all
right."
"I hope so." Kyle said, "I'm sorry I was a jerk to you
guys."
"Don't worry about it." Randal said, "We're your
friends, if you can't be a jerk to us then who can you
be a jerk to?"
Kyle smiled slightly.
"I'm just going to go home." Kyle said getting up,
"Thanks guys."
Kyle headed out. The guys sat there, feeling badly
for both David and Kyle.
When Kyle got back to his apartment he went to his
desk, opened up the desk drawer and pulled out the
picture of him and David he put in there earlier. He
set it back up on the counter in his living room, he
sat down on the couch looking at the picture and
slowly fell asleep.
