This isn't the story for you.
Hope you all like the new twist to the story. Here's
part 7 entitled "Feelings Rising". Enjoy...
"FEELINGS RISING"
A week has past and David and Brett are still going
strong into their new relationship and the feelings
David has towards Brett are turning serious. At the
same time the feelings Kyle has developed for Brett
has risen as well. Whenever the group hangs out now
David always brings Brett, Kyle has a hard time trying
to act normal around the two of them when they're
always cuddling with each other. He see's David
cuddling with Brett and can't help but remember when
David and him did that together, but he realized he's
been replaced. And the worse part is that Kyle can't
hate Brett because Brett's a real nice guy.
That night Kyle, Marcus, Randal, David and Brett were
hanging out and drinking beers at Randal's house.
"So then the guy had too much to drink so he actually
got up on the bar and started doing some sort of
'Coyote Ugly' type dance." Randal said, talking about
a wild night at his job.
"How's he dance?" Marcus asked amused
"When I said 'Coyote Ugly', believe me, it was really
ugly." Randal replied
"God, you should have cut him off earlier so he didn't
make an ass out of himself." Kyle said laughing
"It was so busy last night I couldn't keep track of
half the people drinking, so I didn't know how much he
drank." Randal said
"Was the manager pissed?" Marcus asked
"Oh yea." Randal replied, "Very pissed. He told me if
that happened again he'd fire me."
"Really?" David asked
"Yea, but he says that all the time." Randal said
taking a sip of his beer
"Damn, too bad we missed the action last night."
Marcus said
"Well you guys are going to come to the club tonight
right?" Randal asked
"Sounds like a plan." Marcus said, "How about you
two?"
Marcus looked over at David and Brett who were busy
kissing. Kyle rolled his eyes.
"Guy!" Kyle said getting their attention, and wanting
to break up the kiss at the same time.
"Sorry?" David asked
"Are you two coming to the club tonight?" Marcus asked
"Uh, well we kind of have other plans." David replied
smiling
"We can stop by for a little bit." Brett said
"Well I don't want to keep you two from
doing...stuff." Randal said laughing
"Give me a break." Kyle said under his breath, Marcus
who was sitting next to him gave him a slight punch on
the shoulder to shut him up.
"You going to come?" Randal asked
"Yea." Kyle replied
"Well, yea we'll stop by for a bit. It'll be fun the
group of us clubbing together." David said smiling
"Cool cool." Kyle said putting on a fake smile
David smiled slightly, hearing Kyle say 'cool cool'
the phrase that the two of them share.
"Should we call up Tyler and Jake?" Brett asked
"No." Randal said quickly, then covering, "They said
they were going to just take it easy tonight."
"Those two have sure been going off by themselves a
lot lately." Kyle mentioned
"Yea, it's almost like they're a couple or something."
Marcus said jokingly
Randal laughed along not wanting to give away Tyler
and Jake's secret.
That night Tyler and Jake were at their apartment,
the table was nicely set, candles lit. It was the
perfect romantic evening. The two of them were
sitting down to Lasagna that Jake cooked and were
raising their wine glasses to a toast.
"To our fifth date." Tyler said
"I'll drink to that." Jake said as they clinked
glasses and took a sip.
"This looks great Jake, I didn't know you could cook."
Tyler said
"Well, it's the only thing I know how to make." Jake
quiped
"It's great." Tyler said after taking a bite.
"Thank you." Jake replied
"So, do you really think we can hide the fact we're
dating from the other guys for long?" Tyler asked
"No." Jake replied, "I was actually going to talk to
you about that tonight."
"You think we should tell them?" Tyler asked
"Well, I don't know." Jake replied, "I guess I'm still
not sure myself where we are in this relationship.
Are we a couple? Are we friends who sleep together?
What are we?"
"What would you like us to be?" Tyler asked
"I want us to be just that, an 'us'." Jake explained,
"I want this to go somewhere. But I just want to make
sure that's what you want too."
"It is." Tyler said, "I just didn't want to rush you
or anything."
"So, are we making it official?" Jake asked
"I think so." Tyler replied smiling
The two leaned in and kissed tenderly.
"You know, I'm really not that hungry anymore. Are
you?" Jake asked
"I am, but not for food." Tyler replied micheviously
The two got up and started kissing each other more
passionately as they headed to Tyler's bedroom.
At the club Randal was behind the bar serving drinks
as Kyle and Marcus were sitting at the bar while David
and Brett were out on the dance floor.
"Look at them dancing all over each other." Kyle said
watching David and Brett dancing together, "Get a
room."
"Kyle." Marcus scolded, "He's happy."
"Yea, yea." Kyle replied, "They've only been dating
for a week. How much could he like him?"
As he said that Kyle noticed David and Brett kissing
in the middle of the dance floor.
"A lot apparently." Marcus remarked
"Shut up." Kyle said, who couldn't help but laugh at
the perfect timing of his comment.
"Why don't you just tell him?" Marcus asked
"Because, look at him." Kyle began, "This is the first
time I've seen him like this in a while. I mean, I
don't really want to believe he's that happy, but he
is."
"It'll be all right." Marcus said putting an arm
around Kyle comfortingly.
"Thanks." Kyle replied leaning his head against
Marcus's shoulder.
"Everything all right?" Randal asked handing Marcus a
beer.
"Yea." Marcus replied
"It's David." Kyle said
"Oh." Randal replied understanding what Kyle's talking
about.
"Do you think he's really happy with Brett?" Kyle
asked
"It looks like it." Randal replied, "Sorry."
"It's fine." Kyle answered, "You know, I think I'm
going to go home."
"I'll come with you." Marcus said
"Thanks." Kyle replied then turned to Randal, "Want to
stop by after work and stay over?"
"All right." Randal replied, "I'll bring some drinks."
"Okay, see ya." Kyle said as him and Marcus left.
"Where you two going?" David asked as they walked past
them.
"Home." Kyle replied
"All right. Good night." David said
"You too." Kyle said
"See you guys." Marcus added as him and Kyle walked
away.
David and Brett went to the bar to talk to Randal.
"Kyle and Marcus all right?" David asked
"Yea, they're fine." Randal replied, "You guys want a
drink?"
"Beer please." Brett answered
"Coming up." Randal replied
Outside the club Marcus and Kyle were walking back to
Randal's place to get their cars.
"So, what's going on in that head of yours?" Marcus
asked
"David and I aren't even that good of friends anymore
either." Kyle complained, "Him and I used to be
together all the time. Now even though he says things
are cool between us, he still doesn't hang with me
that much. Even if he has a boyfriend now I would
still like it if he was my friend."
"He cares about you still." Marcus said, "When he was
so cuddly with you and everything before it was
because he liked you."
"So, you're saying he doesn't anymore?" Kyle asked,
hoping Marcus will give him a truthfull answer.
"Honestly, I don't know."Marcus said, "Maybe not."
"I just, I like him so much." Kyle explained, "I wish
I could turn back time to when he first told me he
liked me. I should have been honest with my feelings
then and we would be together now."
"I'm sorry Kyle." Marcus said, "I know how hard this
must be for you."
"I just need to get past this. I mean, I don't even
like relationships, I don't know why I care so much."
Kyle said
"Because you love him." Marcus said
Kyle took a deep breath, he really wishes he didn't
love David so much.
"Yea." Kyle sighed
Marcus and Kyle got to their cars then drove to Kyle's
place. When they got to Kyle's place the two of them
sat down on the couch to talk.
"So how are you doing?" Kyle asked, "I feel that I'm
always laying my problems on you, I'm sorry."
"It's okay. You're going through a hard time. But
I'm fine." Marcus replied
"Are you really? I mean, going through that with
Thomas, it's really traumatic." Kyle said
"Well, to be honest," Marcus began, "there are times
at night when I dream that he's still out there. Then
I wake up in a cold sweat. I know him and I weren't
together long, but It's hard to believe that someone
who cared about me could just turn on me like that."
"Yea, I was kind of wondering if you would get the bad
dreams." Kyle said, "I got them too. And I tried to
keep it quiet and not tell anyone, but I think that I
would have gotten over it faster if I had talked about
it with someone. So, do you want to talk about it?"
"Do you think that there's a chance that he'll come
after me again after they release him?" Marcus asked
"Who says they'll release him?" Kyle replied
"I mean, after he serves his time. He might come back
for me." Marcus said
"I guess that's a possibility, but Thomas did a lot of
bad stuff in his past too, so he'll be in jail for a
while. He might even be sent to a institution to treat
him." Kyle said
"I just get scarred sometimes that he'll come after
me." Marcus said
"If you want, you can stay here for a while, until you
feel safe again." Kyle suggested
"I don't know." Marcus replied, "It may not be best
for me to run from my fears."
"But you shouldn't have to live your life in fear
either. You want to feel safe, and maybe letting us
help will let you feel safe again." Kyle said
"It seems like I'm giving into my fears though."
Marcus said
"No, you're facing them. Only you won't be alone."
Kyle said
"Are you sure?" Marcus asked
"Yea, besides I could use the company." Kyle replied
smiling
"All right. You help me with my fears and I'll help
you with yours." Marcus said giving Kyle a hug.
"Thanks." Kyle said
Over at Tyler and Jake's place the two were in bed
discussing how they would break the news to the guys.
"So, I think we should just cassually bring it up."
Jake said, "I don't want them making a big deal out of
it."
"Well, Randal already knows." Tyler said
"He does?" Jake asked
"Yea, I had talked to him about it." Tyler replied
"How did he react?" Jake asked
"You know Randal, he's a great guy. He fully supports
us." Tyler replied
"That's a relief." Jake said, "I don't want the guys
acting all weird about it."
"Why would they? We were all cool with the idea of
David and Kyle getting together. I'm sure they'll be
fine with us getting together." Tyler pointed out
"That's true." Jake repled, "I guess I'm just getting
worried over nothing."
"Yea, don't worry about it." Tyler said kissing Jake.
"All right." Jake said kissing Tyler deeply.
David and Brett left the club and went to David's
apartment. They grabbed a beer and sat down to talk.
"I don't think Kyle likes me." Brett said, "Did I say
something to offend him?"
"No, he likes you." David replied
"I don't know, maybe it's just me." Brett said taking
a sip of his beer.
"I'll talk to him." David said kissing Brett.
"Okay, because I really want to get along with your
friends." Brett said
"You're sweet." David said kissing Brett again.
"And I want to make sure that your friends don't think
I'm trying to take you away from them." Brett said
"They like you. Trust me." David said putting Brett
at ease.
David and Brett then went into David's bedroom.
When Randal finally got off of work he went over to
Kyle's place. Kyle, Marcus, and Randal were sitting
around talking and drinking beer.
"So you're moving in with Kyle?" Randal asked
"Yea, just for a little bit." Marcus replied
"Still having trouble being in your house by
yourself?" Randal asked
"It sounds stupid, I know, but I just feel like Thomas
is there." Marcus replied
"It's not stupid, you have every right to feel that
way. It was a horrible thing that happened." Randal
said
"I think the main thing that can help you get over
this is by telling yourself that he's in jail now."
Kyle added
"I know, and I try and remind myself of that, but it's
hard." Marcus replied
"Well, that's why you're moving in here. It'll help
make it easier." Kyle said kindly
"And if you need anything else, I'm here too." Randal
said
"Thanks." Marcus replied
The guys talked for most of the night and all three of
them fell asleep on the couch.
The next day Kyle was opening up the toy store when
David came.
"Hey Kyle." David said walking up to him.
"Oh, hey David." Kyle replied
"How are you?" David asked
"I'm good. You?" Kyle asked
"Well, I came to talk to you." David replied
"Sure, what's up?" Kyle asked feeling a little uneasy
being around David.
"It's about Brett." David said
"Oh, did you two break up?" Kyle asked hopefully
"No, it's not that." David replied
"Oh." Kyle said, "What is it?"
"Do you hate him?" David asked bluntly
"Whoa, what?" Kyle asked suprised by how foward David
was being.
"Brett seems to think that you don't like him that
much, and I was thinking about it last night and I
realized you never really talk to him." David said
"I hardly know him." Kyle retorted
"The other guys talk to him." David brought up.
"So?" Kyle asked
"So, I'm wondering if he was right." David replied
"Well, he's not." Kyle said, "I don't hate him. I
don't even know him, so how could I hate him?"
"Do you like him?" David asked
"If I don't know him well enough to hate him, then I
don't know him well enough to like him either." Kyle
replied
"I see." David said quietly
"Why do you even care what I think?" Kyle asked
"Because you're my best friend." David replied
Kyle took a minute to think about what David just
said.
"You're right." Kyle said, "I'm sorry. I'll try to be
nicer to him."
"Thank you." David replied
"Can I ask you a question though?" Kyle asked
"What is it?" David asked curious
"You met him a couple weeks ago." Kyle began, "How did
you get so into him? What happened to the feelings
you had for us?"
"You said you didn't want anything to happen." David
replied, "So, I made myself realize that and moved
on."
Kyle nodded quietly as David left, leaving Kyle very
much alone.
Marcus was at work reading over some cases when there
was a knock on his door.
"Come in." Marcus said
No one answered. Marcus got up to answer the door.
When he opened it up no one was there. He looked down
and saw a dozen red roses lying on the floor with a
card. Marcus picked up the flowers and card. When he
opened up the card he froze and dropped the flowers as
he read what it said.
"I'll see you soon. -Thomas"
Suddenly Marcus heard a knock and the next thing he
knew he bolted up right in his chair at his desk.
"It was a dream." Marcus said feeling relieved.
"Marcus you in here?" a voice asked
"Yea." Marcus replied
The door opened and his secretary, Elizabeth, came in.
"Marcus you're going to be late for your meeting."
Elizabeth reminded him.
"Thanks Elizabeth." Marcus said putting some papers in
his brief case as he got up.
He then headed out of his office.
Randal was over at Tyler and Jake's apartment talking
to Jake.
"I heard Tyler told you about us." Jake said
"Yea." Randal replied, "How are things going between
you two?"
"Great." Jake said smiling, "We're an official couple
as of last night."
"Really?" Randal asked happily
"Yup." Jake replied, "We're going to tell the guys
tonight."
"I'm so happy for you two!" Randal said giving Jake a
hug.
"Thank you." Jake said, "Tyler told me how supportive
you've been."
"I want what's best for my friends." Randal replied
"And I appreciate that." Jake said smiling, "So where
should we all hang out tonight?"
"We can go over to Kyle's place. Marcus is moving in
with him for a little bit." Randal said
"Really?" Jake asked, "How come?"
"He's worried about Thomas still." Randal replied
"Oh, I see." Jake said, "That's nice of Kyle to have
Marcus move in with him."
"Yea, I think so too." Randal answered
"So, how are you doing with everything?" Jake asked
"What do you mean?" Randal replied
"You've just been the real mediator for all of us
lately. I was just wondering what was new with you."
Jake said
"Not too much. Just work, hooked up with the new
security guard at the club." Randal said
"How many guys have you hooked up with at the club?"
Jake asked
"All of them." Randal replied proudly
"Randal, you better be careful." Jake warned,
"Sleeping around like that can get you a disease or
something."
"Don't worry, I'm always careful." Randal replied
"Just remember condoms don't work all the time,
sometimes things can happen." Jake said
"I'll be fine." Randal said patting Jake on the back,
"But I gotta get going. So I'll see you later."
When Randal got outside of Jake's apartment he thought
carefully about what Jake said. Randal did have a lot
of sex partners, and has never gotten tested before.
Feeling a little uneasy he decided to go and get
tested.
That night all of the guys were at Kyle's apartment,
sitting around talking, and drinking.
"Jake and I want to announce something." Tyler said
All the guys looked towards them.
"What's up?" Marcus asked
"This is big news." Jake replied
"Oh my God." Kyle said knowing what they're going to
say.
"What?" Tyler asked
"Are you two..." David began to ask
"A couple?" Marcus added finishing off David's
sentence.
"Yea." Jake replied smiling
"Whoa!" David said happily, "I'm so happy for you
guys."
"Wait a second, when did this happen?" Kyle asked
"We've been dating for a little while and just thought
we should make it official." Tyler replied
"They were hook up buddies for a while before they
started dating." Randal threw in laughing.
"You sluts." Marcus joked throwing a pillow at them.
"I'm happy for you guys." Kyle said giving them a hug.
"Congratulations." Brett said
"Thank you." Jake said
"Well, as long as we're sharing suprises," David
began, "Brett and I have something to tell you guys."
"We all know you guys are a couple." Kyle said sipping
his beer.
"No, it's not that." Brett replied
"Are you two breaking up?" Kyle asked
"No." David replied, "Brett and I are moving in
together."
"Really?" Marcus asked
"Yea, Brett was just moved here so he was staying at a
motel until he found a place and I have more than
enough room for him at my place. Besides, we're
always together anyway." David said kissing Brett.
"Wow, sure is a night of big news." Tyler said
"What do you guys think?" David asked
"It's great." Randal said, at the same time feeling
bad for Kyle.
"Yea, congratulations." Marcus said
"Big step, but I think you guys can make it work."
Jake said
"Couldn't agree more." Tyler added
Kyle just sipped his beer as they all said their
little comments.
"Kyle?" David asked, "Have anything to say?"
"It's great." Kyle said getting up, "I'll be back."
Kyle then got up and went into his room. When he got
there he sat on his bed and his sadness turned into
anger.
"Can we talk?" Brett asked knocking on Kyle's door.
"Sure." Kyle said as Brett walked in.
"You don't like me much, do you?" Brett asked
"No, you're fine. I have nothing against you." Kyle
replied
"How come you seemed so upset when David told you we
were moving in together?" Brett asked
"I wasn't." Kyle lied, "I was just suprised."
"I see." Brett said, "You know, I really want to be
your friend."
"Great." Kyle said putting on a fake smile
"Do you think we can just try and hang out sometime
then?" Brett asked
Kyle looked at Brett, trying to think of a way to get
himself out of this one.
"Sure." Kyle said, wanting to just knock off Brett's
head right now.
"Good, I'm glad we talked." Brett said relieved.
"Me too." Kyle said with his fake smile.
Brett walked out of the room as Kyle stayed and just
had bitter thoughts of Brett.
"Ass." Kyle said quietly
"Hey." David said walking into Kyle's room.
"Sure, come on in." Kyle said sarcastically
"What's your problem?" David asked
"Nothing." Kyle sighed, "Come in."
"Are you okay with Brett moving in with me?" David
asked
"Why do you care about what I think?" Kyle asked, "You
don't need my permission."
"It's important to me that you're okay with it." David
replied, "I won't do it if you tell me not to."
"Why?" Kyle asked
"Because, above everything you're still the most
important guy in my life." David replied sweetly
Kyle smiled.
"Thanks." Kyle said
"So, are you okay with it?" David asked
Kyle knows he has the perfect opportunity to keep
David and Brett apart, but at the same time he knows
he can't.
"Of course." Kyle said smiling slightly.
"Great." David said giving Kyle a hug. David then got
up and headed for the door.
"Can I ask you a question?" Kyle asked
"Sure." David replied
"Have you ever thought what might have happened if I
had been open to a relationship?" Kyle asked
"Yea. I thought about it all the time, but then I met
Brett and he somehow was able to get me to let go and
move on from that." David replied smiling as he walked
out of Kyle's room.
"I was afraid of that." Kyle said quietly.
Kyle laid back on his bed and closed his eyes, hoping
to somehow get over David, to loose the feelings he
now has, wanting all of that to end.
