Chapter One:

"UHGHHHHHHH" moaned Nick. He felt like his head was going to detonate.

Jonathan looked up from the book he was reading. He was sitting in the
bedroom on the couch that looked out over the large glass window on the
front cabin. It was a brilliant sun filled day in the Caribbean. The yacht
was cruising silently along the ocean. Turning around he saw Nick lying
sideways on the king size bed, slowly moving around.

"Are we hungover there baby?" he asked in all innocence.

"Fuck" said Nick, not much more then a graveled whisper.

"I'll take that for a yes" said Jonathan coming over to the bed. "You
know, it is almost three in the afternoon."

He turned Nick over on his back and kissed him on the forehead. "You drank
enough last night that's for sure. You want some of Karen secret hangover
recipe?"

"Ugh" moaned Nick. "The room is going up and down"

"Of course" said Jonathan rubbing his hand over Nick's solid body taking
the time to run his finger over and in his navel. "We are at sea."

"Well tell it to calm down" said Nick, ignoring the hand.

Jonathan trailed his hand lower to the semi plump penis and began stroking
it. Nick was way too hungover however to do much of any kind of response.

"Shoot me" said Nick. "It would hurt less"

"You've been shot, you know better then that" said Jonathan.

Sebastian made his presence known at this point. With a loud churring sound
he bounded onto the bed. Sebastian's "voice" was bounding though Jonathan's
head. "You are way to happy this afternoon cat" he said to Sebastian.

Sebastian looked at him, and flicked his tail at him.. He proceeded to
march up the bed and stop in front of Nick. He looked down at him, and not
getting any response, butted his head against Nick's head. This drew a moan
of pain. Sebastian then rubbed his whole body up against Nick's head and
ended up flicking his tail across his face.

"No, no, no, no, no" moaned Nick, pushing the large furry cat away.

"OK furball" said Jonathan picking up the squirming cat. "Let's let the
dead rest in peace"

He put the cat over on the couch; who found the sun streaming in on the
couch and the moving waters of the ocean more fascinating then the non
moving body on the bed. He curled up with his tail around his body and
contentedly watched the ocean glide by.

Once more, Jonathan sat down on the bed and ran his hand over Nick. The
body, even hung over was amazing. The solid chest, small deep set nipples
gave way to the hard six pack of his abs. What had been a small trail of
hair starting just below his navel and trailing down to his thick pubic
bush when Jonathan had first seen Nick naked, now was a thick line running
almost two inches above his navel. . Jonathan also noticed that he was
starting to get some hair on his abs; a slight blond downy fur on his
abs. He couldn't really call it hair, yet the small soft blond hairs were
visible. Despite his soft brown hair on his head and pubes, the small hairs
were blond due to the amount of time that Nick spent lying by the pool or
swimming.

"You're becoming hairy you know that?" asked Jonathan playfully.

"Will you please let me die in peace?" asked Nick.

"OK babe" said Jonathan. "At least let's get some water and Tylenol into
you."

Jonathan reached over to the table and picked up a glass filled with ice
water. He turned and lifted Nick into a semi sitting position. This
brought forth a new round of moaning, but Jonathan managed to get the full
glass into Nick without spilling to much.

"Ugh" Nick complained. "As long as you have me moving, can you help me get
to the bathroom? I gotta piss like you wouldn't believe"

Jonathan smiled, but picked Nick up and carried him into the bathroom.

"Do you need me to hold it for you?" asked Jonathan, who was clearly
enjoying this whole situation.

"No" grumbled Nick, letting his piss flow into the toilet. "Just hold me
up"

After a minute or so, Nick was done. "God, get me back to bed"

"You want a shower?" asked Jonathan, still holding onto Nick from the back,
running his hands over the solid body.

"I need sleep babe" said Nick.

Jonathan once more picked up Nick and carried him back to the bed. He made
Nick drink another glass of water, as well as a few Tylenol before letting
him crawl back under the covers. Jonathan walked back and closed the
curtains; which caused Sebastian to growl. He reached back and picked up
the cat, and put him on around his shoulders.

"Come on furball" said Jonathan, scratching his fur. "Let's go topside"

"That's Mr. Furball to you" came the echoing response in his head.

"Keep that up and its Friskies and water for you tonight" said Jonathan.
There seemed to be no further comment from the four footed one

Going up onto the teak decking, Jonathan found it to be the perfect day;
sunny and 85 with light breezes. He put Sebastian down and let him wander
around. Turning around he waved at the bridge.

"Don't get knocked overboard cat" he reminded Sebastian, who in turn
reminded Jonathan that he had four feet not two. With that Sebastian
flicked his tail straight up and wandered off.

Smiling, Jonathan wandered around deck. Looking at his watch he found it
close to 3:30pm. He walked to the salon where one of the stewards was
behind the bar. He got a bloody mary made and after offering his thanks to
the steward he wandered back towards the bow of the ship. There, staring
out to sea he pondered where his life was going, recent events, and the
future. For an hour, he stood, staring sightless out to see, his mind
wandering freely.

Turning he closed his eyes and opened his mind. One word went out from his
mind across the spaces that no mortal man could see or hear. KRISTIAN

KRISTIAN his mind called again.

"Yes?" said a voice behind him.

Turning around he saw Kristian standing on the deck. "Thank you" said
Jonathan.

"No problem" said Kristian. "You wouldn't have called unless it was
important"

"There are a couple of things that bother me" said Jonathan as they walked
along the decks.

"I'm sure I could figure them out, but you will probably feel better if you
tell me instead" said Kristian.

"I need a drink." said Jonathan, "You want anything?"

"Beer would be good" said Kristian.

They walked into the main salon and after getting their drinks, walked back
towards the rear of the salon, sitting down on a couch overlooking the
water.

"So, what's on your mind?" asked Kristian, sipping his Samuel Adams Boston
Ale.

"Two things I guess" said Jonathan. "The first is the business with the
castle. Why do we need to move there?"

"We will need a center of operations that is as the name implies." Said
Kristian." A center of all things. Most if not all of the trouble that we
will face will be in Europe."

"With all the technology available why can't things be monitored say out of
Boston?" asked Jonathan, taking a long drink of his Bloody Mary. "I mean,
the airport is International, I own, well... Nick owns a large hotel that
we could renovate a few more floors on. They are already wired for fiber
optic as well as digital"

"We still need to be in position physically to move quickly" said Kristian.

"How many of 'us' can teleport like you can?" asked Jonathan.

"A few of the stronger ones can" said Kristian.

"How come I can't?" asked Jonathan.

"You can." said Kristian. "You've only used your powers to move your
non-physical being about. With practice you can move your physical being as
well"

"Practice" said Jonathan suspiciously. " What happens when I make a
mistake?"

"You end up someplace you don't want to be between point A and point B"
said Kristian, a hint of humor coming to his eyes and smile. "I had that
happen a few times. Ended up in a couple of very embarrassing
positions. Including in front of a firing squad"

"Really" said Jonathan, "What caused that?"

"I had a mental lapse while teleporting and ended up in bed with the Queen
of France back in the 1800's, just as the King entered the room. Bastard
had me taken out and shot. He had ordered my body thrown in the
Seine. When I recovered, I had been weighted down and drowned twice before
I managed to free myself."

Despite himself, Jonathan found himself laughing. "Oh man" he said between
gasps, "Too bad Nick is still out cold, he would probably think of you as
more human"

"Hmm" said Kristian. "That's the second problem, isn't it"

Jonathan turned serious. "Yes it is" he said. "I'm in love with him. I
don't want to lose him. I've been in relationships before, but this one is
different. It goes beyond love, beyond physical desires. We are as one."

"Love has its price Jonathan" said Kristian softly. "I've loved. I've
watched people I've loved grow old, grow feeble, grow diseased, die"

"There must be something that can be done" said Jonathan. "All of these
powers we command"

As if in point, Jonathan looked across the salon to see Sebastian slinking
across the room, still in obvious fear of Kristian. Jonathan closed his
eyes momentarily. Opening them he raised his arm and pointed at the cat.
Suddenly Sebastian found himself in Jonathan's lap.

"You've been practicing" said Kristian.

"A bit" said Jonathan, stroking the fur of the very irate cat. In his head
the language that was echoing around was none polite.

"Relax furball" said Jonathan lifting the cat up to look him in the
eye. "It's not like you got dumped in the bathtub"

Sebastian put his ears back, growled and executed a perfectly feline flip
out of Jonathan's hands and was gone in an instant.

"Fast cat" said Kristian.

"Getting back to the problems" said Jonathan. "Are you saying there is no
way around the castle?

"Yes and no" he replied. "We will need the castle to the extent of setting
up monitoring. Beyond that we could use it for close drill I
suppose. Inside of 24 hour positioning and such. Boston might be a
possible variant. We will need to discuss it"

"And Nick?" said Jonathan.

"Yes, Nick" replied Kristian. He paused for a moment before continuing with
a far away look in his eyes. "It was done once, I heard. Where a
non-immortal was made immortal. It was a long time ago. Even before my
time. I've heard of it. Only once was it successful. Other attempts
resulted in death for the mortal"

"So it can be done" said Jonathan.

"I don't know to be honest" said Kristian. "For all I know it could have
been nothing more then a story. Either way, from what I remember, it is a
long drawn out process they told of, and one that apparently was intensely
painful"

"Can you find out?" Jonathan asked.

"I'll see what I can find out" said Kristian. With that he was gone.

CHAPTER TWO:

After looking in on Nick, and deciding that sleep was probably the best
thing for him, Jonathan went back upstairs to the upper deck to find Paul
in a pair of shorts, sunglasses and what appeared to be a half of a bottle
of sunscreen on his body.

"You planning on being a greased pig in some contest?" Jonathan
asked. "You've got enough of that stuff on you"

"I got burned when we were in St. Thomas." he replied "I'm not taking any
chances. Besides, I'm still hungover enough I'd fall asleep and cook to a
crisp"

"Ah" said Jonathan. "I think outside of the security crew I was the only
one sober"

"Speaking of drunks" Paul said. "Where is Nick?"

"Out cold" said Jonathan. "He woke up about an hour ago, I fed him some
water and Tylenol and he went back to sleep"

"Never could hold his own" said Paul. He lifted up his sunglasses and
looked at Jonathan. "Can we talk about something?"

"Sure" said Jonathan, suspecting what was on his mind. "Go ahead"

"When we were running in Key West a few days ago" he started." After we got
attacked. Who was that guy who just appeared and what the Hell happened?"

Jonathan sighed. He was right. Looking out at the sea for a moment, he
looked back at Paul.

"It's kind of a long story" he began. "You sure you are up to this?"

"Why?" Paul asked, looking over the top of his sunglasses. "How bad can it
be?"

"I'm immortal" said Jonathan.

Paul looked at him with a look of disbelief. "You can't possibly be
serious. You're rich, but that doesn't make you immortal. You can't take it
with you."

"I'm serious" said Jonathan, sitting down. "I died in Boston, and was
brought across. I don't even still understand it"

Paul continued to look at Jonathan like he had rocks in his head.

"Listen to him bud" said a voice. "It's true"

Paul looked past Jonathan to see Nick standing there dressed only in
boxers.

"You look like shit" said Paul. "You're still drunk"

"I feel like shit thank you" said Nick coming closer and wrapping his arm
around Jonathan's waist. "It's true though. I was there when it
happened. It's a long story, but you are a part of it now. It kinda goes
like this..........."

to be continued?
