Subject: Chapter 5 of new millenium story

Chapter 5

A few days went by and I had to work the weekend shift this week. I went
in to work on the 4- 11 shifts. I had just sat down at my desk and was
going over some paperwork that I had left behind earlier in the week. I
picked up the phone to see if I had any voicemails while I was off the
last couple of days. There was one from my girlfriend who told me that
she loved me and to have a nice day at work. I had another one from
Scott. He said," Listen when you get this DJ give me a call." And the
third one was from my buddy the Captain. He told me," Listen DJ I would
like to discuss the closure of that case that we had open last week with
that homosexual guy who got knifed to death." So, I figured I best call
my girlfriend first since she was the biggest part of my life. Then I
followed up with a call to Scott. He wasn't home so I left a message for
him to call me back. I told him," that I would be here until 11 so he
could get back to me before I got off work." And then I placed the call
that I least wanted to do. I had to call the Captain. So I went to pick
up the phone to call him and the phone started to ring in my ear, when I
felt a tap on my shoulder. Guess who it was, your right it was the
captain. I said," Hi Captain I was just calling you on the phone." He
said," DJ we have a few problems with that case from last week. I am
sure you know that case that I am talking about." I said," Yes Captain I
know what case you are referring to." So I said to him," What kind of
problems do we have with this case Captain." He said," Listen DJ I know
that we had our talk last week about you being Gay. I am trying my best
to not let that get out. But we have a problem with the guy that we
locked up." He said," that he knew your buddy Scott and that at one time
you and Scott had a relationship." I said, " Listen Captain that was a
long time ago. Its ancient history. Scott and I are just friends now,
and that's all. Scott and I were involved when I was a lot younger and
not on the force. It happened when we were in College. Scott and I have
only a friendship now there is no relationship." I said," by the way
what does this have to do with the case from last week." The Captain
said," This guy that they arrested is going to tell his lawyer about you
and Scott and I don't know how much damage control I can do. I just want
you to be prepared for the worst. If this guys testifies to your
relationship with Scott it will be all over the newspapers. I don't know
why this guy wants to hurt you and Scott but for some reason he has some
kind of vendetta against Scott. I suggest that you get together with
Scott and find out what he knows about this guy." I said," Ok Captain I
will call Scott tonight and see if we can sit down and talk. I will let
you know what I find out if anything." So, the Captain left and I
started to finish the paperwork that I left earlier in the week when the
phone at my desk rang. I answered it and it was Scott on the other end
of the phone. I said," Hey Scott we have to sit down and talk. Do you
know that guy that was arrested for the murder of David." He said," Well
DJ that's why I called you at work and left a message to call me back."
"I got a phone call from this lawyer who is defending this asshole that
killed David." " He said that the gentleman that he was defending
mentioned my name." " I asked him how he knew my name." And the lawyer
said," He said that he knew me from college and that he knew that I was
a friend and lover of David's." I said," Do you really remember this
asshole." Scott said," Well DJ I kind of, remember him, he was one of
these rich school kids. You know the types that have everything that
they could possibly want. He had Rich parents and I am not sure if they
are still alive but if they are I am sure they will get him the best
lawyer possible." So I said to Scott," Listen I have a problem. My
captain said that this guy that they arrested his name is Ethan
Johnston. Somehow, this guy knows about the affair that you and I had
back in college and he is ready to expose that story to the newspapers.
When I spoke to the Captain last week he had ask me all about whether or
not I knew you were gay. And then he asked me the million-dollar
question? Am I gay. I had no choice but to tell him the truth. I told
him that I was gay but do to all the homophobia in the police department
I asked him to keep it quiet. He told me today that I would probably
have a lot of trouble once word got out that I was gay." I told him"
that there was nothing going on with the two of us and that we were just
good friends." He told me," Well Scott just be prepared for the worst.
Keep you eyes open and your mouth shut and maybe things will just pass
without too much bullshit from the other cops." He told me," that he
will support me as much as he can with out sticking his neck out on the
line." I asked Scott if he could come over to my house tonight so we
could discuss this problem in person rather than on the phone. He agreed
and we set a time of 11:45pm. I knew that the time was late but I had to
discuss this with Scott in person.


*****Well guys here is chapter 5.I know its short but I thought that I
would put it on my webpage to give you fans of this story something to
read. After I finish the new chapters of the other stories I will come
back and write the completion of this one. That's right, guys. There is
only going to be one more chapter of this story. And I am sure you will
like the end. However it is going to be a while until I can get back to
it. So please be patient.
