			     The Alpha's Mate

Everything around me was dark, the woods were silent and not a sound was
heard. I looked around for any sign of life, still there was nothing. The
bush near me rustled, and through a small opening I saw the same eye's I've
seen every night.

The same creature came out and walked to me, his strong body, his
soul-searching eye's, his very scent filled my body with passion and
lust. His strong hand gently caresses my face, his claws traced my every
feature.

Slowly coming down my neck and arm, his other hand holds my neck and slides
down my back. Pulling me in to him, he licks my neck and gently
nips. Bringing a gasp from my trembling lips.

A gruff and rugged voice speaks to me "Soon...Very soon I will make you
mine." Gasping I sat up and looked around, There was light and I felt
someone's hand holding mine. I looked down to see Koda sleeping, his head
laid down on the bed and his hand in mine.

I tried to remember how I got here but the last thing I remembered was
holding back an attack, the rest was all foggy. I looked down at Koda, `I
must have made him worry.' I thought to myself.

I brought my hand to his face, tracing every curve. I smiled looking at
this handsome young man, my friend for the past two years. He shifted and
his eyes began to open.

His long hair that was in a braid was tied back and slid off his broad
shoulders like black silk, then his warm brown eyes met mine. His handsome
yet somewhat rugged looks made my heart skip a beat at times, even now.

His lips parted to say something but nothing came out, then he wrapped his
strong arms around me and held me tight. "Oh thank you God, thank you for
giving him back to me." I heard him say.  Pulling back he kissed my head
and I felt tears fall down to my hands.

I pulled back to look at him, his eye's were red and tears fell down his
face. "Hey it's okay, nothing bad happened. I'm alright, I swear."  I said
trying to ease his pain. "Don't ever...ever scare me like that. You got
that Jamie....God, I thought I lost you."  Koda said to me.

"I won't, I promise. So stop the tears, you're way to old to be crying."  I
said to him.  He smiled and hugged me again. The doorknob turned and my
family as well as Kenai came into the room. Once they saw I was awake they
came running and loaded me up with hugs and kisses.

Mom went on about being careful and dad was saying something about
training. My brother was blabbing about it being so cool and my sister was
in tears. "Alright that's enough everyone, I think Jamie needs time to rest
so why don't we let him." Kenai said, making everyone stop.

They all nodded their heads and gave me kisses and hugs before they left
but Koda didn't want to leave.  I had to keep assuring him that I was going
to be alright, then my dad and brother almost had to pry him loose from me.

Getting out of bed I walked to the large window and looked out, "I have got
to talk to someone about these dreams" I said to myself. Looking up at the
moon, I felt like something was coming, something big and I only hoped I
was ready for whatever it was.

*** Walking out of the woods, Adam in his wolf form, made his way to his
large home, shifting just as he entered his bedroom. He walked over to the
mirror and looked at himself. His body was a work of art.

His rock hard six-pack abs would make any man envious. His chest was firm
and strong going well with his broad shoulders. His well-hung member, 5
inches soft, grew to 9 inches when hard.

His smile melted the hearts of women everywhere and his eyes were something
that could steal your very soul. He was a true alpha, strong and feared,
and nothing could keep him away from what he wanted.

Right now he wanted his mate. Looking at his image again in the mirror he
smiled. "Tomorrow Jamie, tomorrow we'll see if you truly are my mate."  He
said to himself. Walking to his large bed he got in and fell asleep.

*** Waking up because of the sunlight shining on his face, Jamie blinked a
few times and looked around at where he was. His first reaction was to
panic, but then it all came back to him. The test in the field and the
attack on Koda; it all came flooding back.

Bringing his hand to his forehead he closed his eyes and took a deep
breath.  Getting up he saw a pile of clothes that his parents must have
left for him. He walked into the bathroom and took a shower.

The warm water felt good against his tense muscles and worn out body.
Stepping out of the shower he toweled himself dry and wrapped the towel
around his small frame. Grabbing his clothes, he slipped on the boxer
briefs and pulled up the black jeans.

Pulling on the white skin tight long sleeve shirt he walked over to the
mirror and combed his hair using his powers to bring together warm air he
blew it dry and let it fall like brown water flowing over his shoulders.

After looking himself over one last time he walked out of the room.
Looking around at the white walls he walked through the hallway until he
came to the control room. Everyone looked busy walking around and doing
things.

"Jamie!!!"  A voice that he knew shouted and as he turned he was grabbed
into a tight hug by a small frame. Pulling back Jamie looked into honey
brown eyes that belonged to his friend Amber.

"Amber, what are you doing here?"  He asked, "Oh Jamie, when Scott told me
what happened I came here as fast as I could." She looked like she was
about to burst into tears. "Jamie I'm sorry but I couldn't tell you I was a
member of the Order like Scott." She said with tears falling.

"Its okay Amber, I know why you couldn't. I got the lecture about it
yesterday from my parents. Anyways it's cool that we can kick some butt,
right?" Jamie said with a smile. Amber hugged him tight and kept on crying.

"Jeez Amber, when I fell of a cliff you weren't this crushed." Scott said
to her, "Well that's different, nothing can break that thick skull of
yours." She said back to Scott. "Wow sis, didn't know you cared that much."
He said back.

They were about to go at it again when a voice said. "Alright that's enough
you two, How are you feeling Jamie?" John asked. "I'm much better, thanks
uncle John." Jamie said with a smile. The doors burst open and in walked
Koda, his nostrils flared as his gaze met Jamie's.

"Jamie Lockhart, you're supposed to be in Bed!!" He all but yelled.  Jamie
sighed and shook his head. "Don't you give me that face, you should be
resting." Koda said. "Oh come on Koda, I'm fine but I sure am hungry." He
said with an innocent smile.

Koda walked over to him and said, "You should be in bed." Jamie shook his
head and headed out of the room "Jamie go on up to the house.  Rose should
have some breakfast ready for you guys. And kids, don't wear him out to
much." John said to the four teens.

They all nodded and headed for the kitchen.  When they arrived, Rosa and a
Hispanic woman in her early 40's greeted them all. She gave them eggs,
bacon, sausage and sliced pineapple. They ate and told each other
everything about their training and even about their respective powers.

After eating and Amber showing her Sound wave attacks, they all headed into
town and hit the busy market streets. Jamie soon found himself wondering
around looking at things people were selling.

He came up to a little stand that sold vintage necklaces.  He saw an
amazing cross chocker that had a crystal in the middle. Pulling his wallet
out he bought it and continued on his way, making it to the fountain in the
center of the market.

Getting out of the black SUV, Adam and Jay walked the market place looking
left and right. "My Lord, what exactly are you looking for? I can look for
it and you could get back to the estate." Jay said to Adam.

Adam chuckled and said "No my young friend, this is something I must
do. But I would like some of that Starbucks thing you were talking about."
Jay smiled and nodded, walking towards a Starbucks shop at the end of the
market place.

With Jay gone, Adam focused his instincts.  His head raised a little as he
sniffed the air, ears listening for the faintest sound of his so-called
mate. But with all the food and people here he couldn't pick up Jamie's
scent very well.

Dropping his head he walked around the market place.  After half an hour of
walking he soon found himself heading to the center of the market place. As
he was walking his face caught the shimmer of a bright light.

Looking up he saw his future mate.  The light breeze blew at his hair and
the sunlight made it shine like brown silk flowing in the wind. He wore a
long sleeve, white shirt that hugged his body and a pair of black
jeans. The black boots he wore made it all the more impressive to look at.

As Adam looked at Jamie, he noticed the young man seemed to be looking at
something in his hand. The winds shifted and the scent of Jamie hit Adam
like a bus with no breaks. His nostrils flared and his eyes shifted for a
moment.

The blood that flowed through his veins flowed down to his member and he
grew hard. He could hardly believe how his body was shaken by only the
boy's scent. He held back the beast within himself that was trying to break
free and clam his mate.

Taking a deep breath he walked like a wolf going in for the kill, all his
instincts focused on the unsuspecting pray. Walking to Jamie's side Adam
cleared his throat, "Hello, would you mind if I sit here?" he asked in a
seductive voice.

When Jamie looked up Adam took a step back his as his breathing increased
and his palms started to sweat. I'm sorry, did you say something?" Jamie
asked. Adam gulped and opened his mouth but nothing came out.  `Control
yourself, your acting like a young pup who's going on a first date.' Adam
though to himself, but Jamie's light blue eyes seemed to grab at his very
soul. Adam's own green eyes seem to spark when their eyes locked.

Both of them just stared at each other, not a word being said. Slowly Adam
came up to him and Jamie stood up.  "Would you mind if I sit with you?"
Adam asked. A shy smile came across Jamie's face as he blushed a little.
"Um, sure, that would be alright." he said to Adam.

As they took their seat, Jamie dropped the necklace he was holding in his
hand. Adam bent down and picked it up. He studied it and said "An
interesting choice for a necklace." He said, giving it back to the young
man.

 "I like crosses.  They have always held a special place in my heart. I
think it's because my homeroom teacher, Mrs. Hall, gave me one when I was
in second grade after my goldfish died. She said that he was in a better
place now and then she gave me a small silver cross." Jamie said with a
smile.

 "So you've loved them ever since then?" Adam asked.  Jamie nodded his head
and smiled at him. It took all of Adam's strength not to pounce on the boy,
his inner beast kept on driving him to take what was his, to clam the young
man as his mate.

Adam was about to ask something when a voice yelled "JAMIE!!!  So this is
where you've been." Amber yelled, running to him. Adam's instincts told him
to guard and drive off this little girl from coming close to his mate, but
he held back.

 "Oh, hey Amber.  Sorry, I was just looking around and then just wound up
here."  Jamie said to the young women. Soon two new voices were heard "See
I told you he'd be here. It's his favorite spot in the whole market." Koda
said to Scott.

 "Yeah well it used to be by the big tree by the bakery shop."  Scott said
back.  As the two men approached, Adam picked up Koda's scent not only from
the source but from Jamie as well. Adam's fist tightened as Koda came
closer.

 `So this young pup thinks he can take my Mate from me.' Adam thought to
himself. "Jamie, it's time to head back. Dad said lunch will be ready soon
and your parents want to see you." Scott said to Jamie.

Nodding Jamie stood up and turned to Adam, "I'm sorry to cut our
conversation short. It was nice meeting you. I'm Jamie by the way, Jamie
Lockhart." Everything inside Adam started shaking.

 `No...NO..NO!! It can't be!  There's no way he can be related to that man'
Adam thought to himself. "It's a pleasure Jamie, I'm Adam Gray."  He said
to Jamie. Jamie smiled and said, "Well, I hope to see you around Mr. Gray,
It was nice to meet you."

 "Adam.  Please call me Adam, and it was indeed nice to meet you.  I have a
feeling we'll meet again soon." He said to Jamie. He watched as the group
walked away.  "My Lord, there you are. I have been looking for you
everywhere." Jay said holding two Mocha Cappachinos.

 "I think its time we head back Jay, we have a lot to do." Adam said while
looking at the group leaving his sight. He turned and they walked out back
onto the street and into the SUV.

Walking out of the market place Jamie couldn't stop thinking about Adam
Gray. Something about that man made Jamie feel almost alive yet at the same
time it shook him to the core. Jamie couldn't stop thinking about this man
he'd just met, but why couldn't he get him out of his thoughts?

 "Jamie, you okay honey? You have this dreamy look on your face." Amber
asked.  Jamie looked up and said "No, its nothing Amber. Just thinking,
that's all."  "About that hot guy? You're so lucky, Jamie. I wish guys
would meet me like that.  It's so romantic." Amber said with a sigh.

 "I think he's bad news, you shouldn't be talking to guys like that Jamie.
He might be some waked up guy and he could hurt you or something."  Koda
said to Jamie. "Oh come on Koda, He's just being nice and he doesn't seem
dangerous to me." Jamie said back.

 "I'm only saying be careful. You don't know what the guy's up to."  Koda
said to him, "Alright, let's go home and eat, man I'm hungry."  Scott said
out loud. They walked to the cars and were soon back to Scott and Ambers
home.

Looking at the loads of food spread out on the table, Jamie only chose to
eat the fruit salad and drink some orange juice. A lot was on his mind and
most of it was Adam Gray.  What is it about this man that made Jamie think
of him so much.  He was handsome, in a rugged loner kind of way. He was
nice and sweet and he looked generally interested in his story about why he
liked crosses so much.  Putting his fork down he got up and left the table.

Walking in to the large garden out back, he let his mind wander as he
looked at the roses and the large apple tree. He walked to the tree and ran
his hand along the large tree trunk, "You have it so easy don't you.  All
you have to do is grow apples and that's it."  Jamie said to the tree.

Sighing he sat on the stone bench and took out the necklace he had bought
earlier at the market place. "Is something bothering you Jamie?" A voice
said from behind him.  He didn't need to turn around to know that it was
Kenai.

 "Kenai, could I tell you something?" Jamie asked.  "When have I ever not
listened to you Jamie?"  Kenai asked with an eyebrow raised.  Jamie smiled
and said "I've been having strange dreams for the past two months now." He
said looking out into the garden.
 "What kind of dreams?"  Kenai asked.  "They're of me, and I'm in a forest.
It's night and there's a full Moon out."  Jamie said. Kenai nodded his
head, "But everything is silent, no sounds at all. And from behind me I
hear a noise, as I turn a large werewolf comes out of the bushes." Jamie
tells him.  "His eyes were glowing green and he doesn't attack me, he just
reaches his paw out to me."  Jamie said looking down.  "Is that all,
nothing more?"  Kenai asked, "He always says `Soon, you'll be mine.' and
then the dream would always end" Jamie said with a longing look.

Kenai look out to the garden, his mind at work with what the young man has
told him.  "Jamie, I'll look into this. But I want to ask you something."
Kenai said looking at him.  "When you were at the training grounds, how did
you know you were going to be attacked?" He asked.

 "Oh, well I forgot to tell you something. The day when you told me you and
Koda had powers, I developed a new one.  It allows me to see at least a few
minutes into the future. I don't know how, but it does." Jamie said.

Kenai nodded is head and said "You're growing stronger Jamie.  With each
passing day you will become stronger than before."  Kenai said. Jamie gave
him a small smile and looked back out into the garden.

 "Well You should be happy.  Tonight you, Koda, Scott and Amber will be on
a hunt." Kenai said to him making Jamie snap back to look at him.  "Don't
worry to much, your brother and sister will be with you as well."  Kenai
smiled and both of them walked back into the house.

*** Walking into the large mansion, Adam was deep in though. He walked the
large halls and headed to his study.  Opening the doors he walked to the
wooden desk and took a look at Jamie's file. It showed his last name but
not his entire family line.

A few moments later Jay came in and asked "Is something wrong my lord?"
"Jay, go and get Ian and the witch. I need to see them right now."  Adam
said looking over the file. "As you wish."  With that Jay left the study to
find them.

"He can't be related to that man.  There's no way he could be."  Adam said
to himself. A few minutes later Ian, Jay and the Witch came into the
study. Adam glared at the two. "What kind of foolish thing is this? Is the
boy related to James Lockhart, the man who hunted me?"  Adam's voice was
filled with rage.

 "My lord I do not know, I only found him, nothing more."  Ian said.
"Answer me witch!"  Adam demanded. "I have a name. You will address me by
it."  She said with a stern look. "Then Answer my question Belle. Is he a
descendent of James Lockhart." Adam asked.  "Yes, the boy is a descendent
of James Lockhart."  Belle said as if it was nothing.  "What the hell. Do
you think I would take this boy as a mate now." Adam asked.  "Yes I do.  He
is your chosen mate Adam. And there is nothing you can do to change that."
With that said, Belle walked out.

Adam looked at the file and threw it to the floor, `how can this be?  How
can my mate be one of them.'  "Ian, get our spy on the phone, I want to
know what Jamie will do tonight." Adam said looking out through the large
window.


 "As you wish my lord."  Ian said and left the room.  "Jay, I want you to
get a team ready. We're going hunting tonight."  Jay nodded and left. "If
everything goes well, you'll be mine tonight Jamie. That's a promise." Adam
said, leaving the room.

*** Walking out of the room, Jamie wore a black skintight long sleeve shirt
that had a hood, black tight long jeans and black boots. He wore the new
chocker and walked to the control room. His brown hair was straight and
fell over his shoulders.  He looked confident and sure of his first ever
hunt with his friends and siblings.

 "Wow, Jamie, honey we're going hunting for werewolves not hookups."  Amber
said with a smile.  She was with Scott and Koda. Jamie blushed and smiled a
little, "Well, they said I should were something black and this is the only
black outfit I've got."  Jamie said to Amber.

Jamie looked at his friends.  Amber wore a black A-shirt with black short
shorts and a pair of combat boots. Scott wore the same style shirt and
color with long black jeans, and Koda wore a sleeveless black shirt that
showed his strong biceps and had on a pair of gloss black jeans.

Koda smiled at Jamie, which only made Jamie blush.  "Alright, is everyone
ready?" Jamie's brother Chris said to the young group. By his side was
Jamie's sister Ella.  Both had on what looked like suits from the movie
X-men.

 "Umm, why are you guy's dressed like that?" Jamie asked.  "Well little
bro, when you pass your first hunt you get suits like this."  Chris said to
him. "Alright, let's get to the garage and leave. The Moon will be out
soon, and although it may not be a full moon there will still be wolves out
there." Ella said to the group.

Taking the elevator to the garage, the group came up to their parents and
some of the elder members of the Order. "Tonight is a night to remember as
these four young hunters will be on their first hunt. But these four are
not like the rest of us, they are strong and gifted."  John said.  "They
have been gifted with powers unlike any were have ever seen and they are
the future of the Order.  When they return we will have be stronger then
our enemy so we can put an end to the blood shed. Good hunting young ones,
and you two bring them back safely." John finished.

The group nodded and gave their family hugs.  "You two watch your brother
and the others.  We'll be watching from the view mirror. Take care and be
safe my babies." Rachel said to her three children. She longed for the day
when they were toddlers walking around with cake mix on their face and
clothes and now here they were grown up ` How the years fly by' she
thought.


"Mom, come on, this is Ella and me on the hunt.  We'll be all right. And
don't worry about the small fry, well take care of `em." Chris said to his
mother. "You'd better or you will be grounded for the rest of your life."
His father Paul said to him.

The three Lockhart children smiled at their parents and nodded "Don't
worry, I'll save his butt from getting eaten."  Jamie said to his parents
making everyone laugh, "Oh, I'll show you."  Chris said, getting his
brother into a headlock.

"Honestly you two, don't worry, I'll keep an eye on both of them." Ella
said to their parents. With everyone ready, they were given a choice in
weapons.  Elle went with her throwing daggers, Chris went for the steel
samurai sword, Scott went for the steel staff, Amber went for the chain
with a sharp tip on the end and Koda went for the short double swords.

Jamie walked up and chose his weapon of choice, the two steel sai, giving
them a spin on his hands he tested their weight and got a feel for
them. Once done they all got into the black civic and drove to the woods.

*** Adam came at the head the pack.  His pack was strong. 16 male
werewolves along with Jay, "My lord, all is ready."  Adam nodded and looked
back at the pack.  "Tonight we're going hunting for these so called
hunters.  Among them is a boy. He's 18, about 5'6" and 125 pounds, He has
brown hair.  I want him caught and unharmed. Is that understood?"  The pack
nodded that they understood their lord.  Walking to the back yard they all
stood ready to leave. "My lord!" came a voice from behind them.  As they
turned they saw Marcus.  "Marcus, what brings you here?"

 "I was coming here to talk to you when Ian told me you were going
hunting."  Marcus said to him, "Yes there's something very important I want
to hunt tonight. Would you do me the honor of joining us tonight?" Adam
asked.

 "My Lord, I would be my honor to hunt with you."  Marcus replied as he was
walking to join them.  They all striped and shifted in to their wolf
forms. Adam tilted his head back and howled, the pack did the same and soon
they were off to hunt for the hunters.

Running together in a pack made him feel better, the thought that kept
coming to mind was tonight he would get his mate. That thought pushed him
to go faster and run harder, passing trees, bushes, streams and all things
found in the woods he headed north to the hunting grounds.

 "Soon Jamie, soon I will have you."  Adam thought running as he was
followed by the pack.  The strong alpha looked at the moon and howled. His
cry filled the night air, and told all that the master of the woods was
coming.

*** Driving to the hunting grounds where the Order had seen and hunted the
wolves, Jamie seemed lost in thought. His thoughts kept going back to Adam.
He had only met the man today but something about him made Jamie's heart
beat faster and he felt butterflies in his stomach.

He was brought out of his reverie when they came to the hunting grounds.
"Alright, listen up.  Be on your guard and don't let anything distract
you. They will try to kill you so you must always have your guard up so
they never have the chance. Just follow our lead.  Okay." Chris said to
them.

They all nodded and got out.  Making their way through the forest Koda
stopped. "What is it?" Jamie whispered.  "We're not alone." Koda
said. Growls sounded from all directions and Chris said, "Form a circle and
hold your ground."

They all formed a small circle and looked around them.  Everywhere they
looked they could see eyes glowing in the dark. 7 beasts came running at
them with fangs, claws and fire burning in their eyes.  The beasts jumped
in the air ready to rend them.

Jamie formed a dome around them and the beasts hit it, clawing and punching
trying to break through. "Attack!  Don't stop `till they're all dead."
Chris yelled. Scott's eyes glowed red and a beam shot out hitting one of
the wolves and throwing it into a tree where it fell to the ground dead.

Amber drew her breath and let her sound wave bring two wolves to their
knees, Ella took out two of her silver daggers and sent them flying,
hitting her targets and turning them to ashes.

Jamie used his wind power to send the wolves flying back and everyone took
out their weapons. Chris took out his samurai sword and cut one of the
wolves' head off.  Koda slashed a wolf on its back and chest then stabbed
him right in the gut.

Jamie looked and saw a wolf heading for Amber who was fighting another.  He
flicked his hands and blew it up. Amber turned and smiled taking out the
chain she jumped in the air and wrapped it around a wolf's neck.  Pulling
on both ends she severed the beasts head.

The last wolf looked at the group and fled into the woods, everyone kept
their guard up for a few more minutes until Koda said it was safe. Chris
and Ella smiled at the three, "Very well done everyone. I'm sure everyone
back at the base is happy to see we did great."  Ella said to them.

Back at the Base...

The Order and the families all smiled looking through the viewing mirror at
the three new members.  "Looks like they kicked ass."  Paul said putting an
arm around his wife, who nodded and smiled.

 "They sure did.  Now, should we get them their suits?  I think they'll be
needing them now." John said to the other members who nodded their
heads. Kenai smiled and walked over to his three friends.

The mirror started to glow red again, and the wolf head appeared
again. With a loud howl everyone backed away. "No, not again. Kenai do
something!" Rachel all but yelled. Kenai started to chant and soon they saw
their kids again.

Back at the Hunting Grounds...

Walking back to the car, the group laughed and talked about their first
hunt. "That was so cool, Jamie, man that shield thing of yours kicks
ass. And Sis, I always knew your scream would be deadly someday." Scott
said.

 "Well, what about you Cyclops.  You certainly fit the name Scott."  Jamie
said to him. Scott smiled at Amber said, "Jamie don't give him a bigger
head, his ego's big enough." making everyone laugh.

Jamie stopped and soon had another vision, {They were walking to the car
when the pack attacked, he saw his brother and sister killed at the hands
of a large wolf. Koda was held back and Scott and Amber were captured.}

Reaching the car Jamie threw his shield up.  "Everyone on your guard, we're
under attack!"  The pack came out of the woods and ran straight at
them. They hit Jamie's shield hard and punched and clawed away at it.

 `Damn they're stronger then the other pack.' Jamie thought, then three
balls of light like the ones that attacked him and Koda hit the
shield. "Jamie can you hold it!" His brother yelled.

 "I think so, take them out quick." Jamie yelled back.  Scott started
blasting away, but this pack was faster and stronger than the ones they had
killed. Amber sent her sound wave at them and they all dropped to their
knees, Jamie let his shield down so they could attack.

Koda ran at one of the wolves and started to attack. The wolf was fast and
dogged his blades, grabbing his arms, he twisted both his wrist dropping
both blades to the ground. Koda began to use his combat skills to fight the
wolf.

Ella and Chris fought two wolves at the same time. Jamie began to attack as
well, blowing up as many wolves as he could and using his wind power to
keep up with their speed. All of a sudden one wolf came out of the forest
and looked at Jamie.  The wolfs eyes were ablaze, his body strong, his fist
in a tight ball ready to fight. Jamie went after this wolf.  He knew that
his brother or sister, even his friends wouldn't stand a chance against
this wolf.

 "Whatever you want I suggest you leave now or die."  Jamie said showing no
fear. He stood ready to protect the ones he loved, even if it meant losing
his life for it.  The wolf raised his hand and it began to glow with green
light.  The wolf sent it at Jamie and he raised his shield to protect
himself, "How long can you keep that shield up? You don't stand a chance."
The wolf said to Jamie. `Shit, he's right. If I don't do something quick,
we're finished.') Jamie thought to himself.

He looked back at his two siblings and friends who were losing badly. A
wolf came behind Amber and got a hold of her. Scott was hit over the head
and fell to the ground, Ella and Chris fought they're way to them.

Koda was holding his own, but he couldn't hold out forever.  "What do you
want? What do you want from us?" Jamie asked. The wolf grinned showing his
sharp fangs, "You, give yourself over to me and I could stop all this."
The wolf said.

Back at the Base...

The families were all looking on helpless to do anything, "Get a team
ready, we're going out there! NOW!!!"  John yelled. Everyone scattered and
moved, "We're going with you." Paul and Rachel Lockhart said to him.

 "So am I." Kenai said to him.  "Alright let's hurry." John said to the
three. Leaving the room and grabbing their weapons, they all got in a black
SUV and drove off in a hurry to the hunting grounds.

 "Please God, don't let us be to late to save them."  Rachel prayed. "Don't
worry, they'll be alright."  Paul said trying to cheer up his wife, but he
himself wasn't so sure if his kids could make it through this.

Back at the Hunting grounds...

After sending one of the energy balls to hit a near by tree, Jamie started
to waver. He was almost at the ends of his limit.  He looked back at the
battle. `If I don't surrender they'll all die' He thought to himself.

 "If I surrender to you, Swear to me that no harm will come to them." Jamie
said to the wolf. "All I want is you. Surrender and I will let them live."
The wolf said back. Jamie looked back at his siblings and friends.

A tear fell from his eye as he turned to look at the wolf.  Slowly making
his was to the beast Jamie said, "Alright, I surrender. But promise me
you'll spare their lives." He said to the wolf.

 "Done." the wolf said. As a red ball hit Jamie, his body felt weak, his
eyes couldn't keep themselves open. He fell but before he could hit the
ground, the wolf grabbed him and lifted him into his arms.

With a howl telling his pack to fall back, he looked at the battle. His
wolves left their targets and formed by his side. Everyone looked at him
now.  "Jamie!!!"  Koda yelled, running at the wolf.

But he wasn't fast enough.  The wolves ran into the woods leaving him
behind while making their way back home to the mansion. Koda fell to his
knees and let out a yell of frustration, anger and grief that filled the
night air.

Up on a hill near the battle, a pair of eyes took in all that happened
throughout the fight. A smile formed along the beings lips. "How very
interesting." the dark figure said to itself.

To Be Continued...  Hello everyone.  I am sorry for the slow posting. My
family has been going through a lot. My sister had a baby and she had some
complications so I had to be with her most of the time, then my PC
crashed. I am happy to say, however, that I will post a new chapter of The
Snow Prince soon. Thank you for all the support.

Wow! Elo, how could you leave us all with a cliffhanger like this?  Have
you been taking lessons from the master of cliffhangers?  Well, this was
certainly a very exciting chapter.  What will be the result of Jamie
finding out who Adam really is?  Who is this being who is looking at the
battle?  What will Jamie's relatives do?  How will Jay react to Jamie?  Who
is the spy Adam called?  What will Koda do?  Only the next chapter will
tell.  Don't make us wait too long, Elo.
