Subject: Blood Gothic (fantasy)

Oh great, I have done it again. Another vampire story. This one though I
think is going to be one of my best, right along side Dark Nightingale.
This one is looking really good especially for it only being the first
chapter. Okay, so... this chapter should have been on here about a week
and a half ago. But i got into this, i'm-in-no-mood-to-write kind of
mood and kept pushing it aside til finally i said fuck it, i need to
write this thing before i end up forgetting the ideas and i lose it
completely. So i started writing it and here we are. Chapter one! woo
hoo! *dances* um...yeah sorry about that. it's seven o'clock in the
morning and already i'm hyper as hell. lol anyways on to the story!

The only light that lit the large study was from a single candle that
Hadrian had lit on top of the table so he could read. His jet-black hair
fell over his eyes as they scanned the pages of a thick leather bounded
book that appeared to be older than he was. He let out a soft sigh and
looked up from the book and up at the candle in front of him; he watched
as the flame danced around the wick and melted the candle into hot wax.
He closed his eyes briefly as he lost himself in his thoughts, suddenly
the study door opened with a loud creak and a bright light filled half of
the large room making Hadrian wince. "You're still in here?" Tayven asked
as he walked into the study and leaned up against the door frame, a
strand of his dirty blond hair fell out of the perfect ponytail he had it
in. He looked as if he couldn't be any older than twenty five, but his
eyes and attitude gave away how old he really was. The older man
couldn't help but smile as he watched Hadrian sitting there by the
window trying to ignore the older man's presence, which was clearly not
working at all.

"So what if I am?" Hadrian asked coldly as he looked up at Tayven, his
piercing silver eyes locked with the older man's.

Tayven crossed his arms over his chest and looked at the young man. "You
just ^Öyou don't respect anything do you? You have no idea how good you
have it." He said walking over to the window behind Hadrian.

"How good I have it? Why don't you fill me in on how good I have it
because honestly I don't see it?" Hadrian answered as he rolled his
eyes and reached over to pull the candle closer.

Tayven tried his best to hide his smile as he came to stand behind the
dark haired young man, his hands resting firmly on the back of the chair.
"You, Hadrian have everything. You have everything you could possibly
ask for, what more do you want?"

Hadrian turned to look at Tayven, staring into those green eyes in which
he hatred so much. "To live a normal life." He answered as he broke eye
contact with the older man. "That is one thing I will never be able to
do again."

"But wouldn't you prefer to live forever? Think of the possibilities.
You will never die, over the centuries you get to watch as things change,
the world change. Don't you want to be apart of that?" Tayven asked
wrapping his arms around the young man.

Hadrian pulled away quickly rolling his eyes as he turned to face the
older man again. "No actually I don't. I would much rather prefer that
you had left me alone and not condemned me to this hell."

"Hell? I wouldn't call it a hell, my child. It's not as bad once you
finally accept who and what you have now become. And eventually, you're
going to have to do just that whether you want to or not because lets
face it Hadrian. You can't turn back time; you are forever a child of
the night. My child. Nothing you do or say will ever change that."
Tayven said tucking his index finger gently beneath the dark haired young
man's chin and made him look deep into his eyes, those eyes that held
such a mystery to them that he knew he could never solve. "You are
immortal; I gave you the dark gift because you were appealing to me. You
were special. I gave you one of the greatest things any one person could
give to another, eternal life and this is how you repay me?"

Hadrian stood up and leaned against the desk. "Like I've told you over
and over, a hundred times. I DON'T WANT THIS!" he said slamming his
fist down on the table. "I want my old life back."

"Your old life is dead." Tayven snapped. "You are stuck this way
whether you want it or not. Understand that. You can't take it back, you
can never return to being human, as much as you might miss your human
ways, they are dead. They died with you the moment my blood began to flow
through your veins. Accept that for hell's sake, you are a vampire. You
always will be."

Hadrian let out a heavy sigh. `I guess I can't really argue with him.'

"That's right Hadrian, you can't argue with me because I'm right. You
need to learn to stop arguing with me all the time."
Hadrian shot a glare at his sire. "I'll stop arguing with you when you
stop reading my fucking mind."

Tayven smiled. "Oh, but you know I can't help it."

Hadrian rolled his eyes. "Oh no, of course you can't. Now, please stay
the fuck out of my mind, what goes on there is my business and mine
alone."

Tayven shock his head. "Your stubbornness was another reason why I made
you what you are. I needed someone who I don't always win arguments
against and will put up a fight. But if I would've known what a handful
you are I might have left you alone."

"Then you would've been doing me a favor by leaving me alone." Hadrian
said as he picked up the book on the table and placed it back on the book
shelf. "But, I can't change that now can I?"

"No, you can't. But think on the bright side, you can still do all the
things you used to when you were human. Only difference is that you're
better at it now that you're immortal."

"But that's the thing. Once you're immortal, you're practically
perfect. Everything you do is perfect. I don't want to be perfect. I
want to make mistakes. I had a talent before I was turned, that talent
yes, it approved miraculously but my point is, it only improved because
of what I am now, not because I fought my way to get there."

"Blood Gothic means something to you doesn't it?" Tayven asked as he
studied Hadrian.

There was a long pause before the dark haired young man turned to face
Tayven. "Yes, Blood Gothic means everything to me."

"Then stop whining and complaining about how you hate being immortal. It
makes your voice so much better than it was when you were human."

"There was nothing wrong with my voice then. I had a good voice."

"Good yes, but now you have an amazing voice. You entered fame because
of how you sound now. You are a star because of your voice now! And
unless you want to lose everything that you have worked so hard to
achieve I would shut up and stop complaining."

Hadrian rolled his eyes. "Whatever, I don't have time for this."

"Oh of course not, you have so much to do with your busy life. Wouldn't
want to keep you from it."

"Shut up, I have practice to go to." Hadrian answered as he headed for
the door.

"But what is the point of practicing when you're already perfect, you
can't possibly sound any better?" Tayven answered as he walked over to
Hadrian and cupped his chin. "You have the voice of an angel."

"Yeah, but since when have you ever heard of a cursed angel?"

"Oh enough with the childish act Hadrian go to your stupid little
practice. Even though it will not help you one bit but believes what you
will."

Hadrian rolled his eyes. "Whatever." The dark haired man said before
walking out of the study and slamming the door behind him.

Tayven couldn't help but smile. "He never learns."
