Chapter 12

Linda sat looking out the window seeing nothing; her face was vacant as she
absentmindedly rested her hand on her abdomen.  At six weeks there was
nothing to see, however the pack knew and felt pity for their Alpha Elect,
it would have been hard for Linda while Gary was exiled however to be
pregnant at the same time was enough to send Linda into a state of
depression.  Ben watched his older sister and sighed, he felt the same pain
and sorrow from Gary that Linda felt, however he had Jerry, but Linda had
no one.  Ben went and sat with his sister neither said a word there was no
need they both missed him.

Alpha Damon deleted the emails that he had received from Gary the night
before, he was both pleased and irritated at the contact.  Gary knew he
wasn't supposed to contact him but still a progress report had been needed.
Damon rubbed his eyes and called for Jerry to enter, the boy had been
hovering outside his office for the past twenty minutes.  "What can I do
for you Jerry", Jerry was used to the informality of his mates pack as he
took a seat offered by the Alpha.  "I wanted to know if you had any news on
the attack", Damon raised an eyebrow, "it's not for me Ben was considering
returning to Brisbane to see if he could discover anything".  Damon glared
at the young man who looked as if he wanted to run from the office, "Ben is
to remain in pack territory is that understood".

Jerry went pale for the first time since meting Alpha Damon he truly felt
the force and power of his mates pack Alpha.  Jerry bowed his head in
acceptance, "As you command Alpha", Damon watched as the young man left
clearly he had shaken him; hopefully it would be enough to keep Ben from
following Gary.  He sighed and took out an old photo from his desk draw; it
was of a woman she was beautiful almost as beautiful as her daughter.
"Lilith why can't you be here now our children need you", Damon spoke
softly to the photo wondering what had caused the mother of his children to
leave.

Jerry entered the room where Linda and Ben sat quietly; Ben looked over at
him with hope in his eyes.  Jerry shook his head once which was all Ben
needed to feel his hope die; he had not told Jerry that his real intent was
to see Gary.  He figured that Jerry knew, Linda sighed and stood up, "Thank
you Jerry it was worth a try", with that she quietly left the two men
alone.  Jerry pulled Ben into a tight hug, "I'm sorry Benny he wouldn't
even hear of it", Jerry spoke softly into his mates hair.  Ben nodded he
could well imagine how his father would have reacted.

Gary stretched and groaned the small fight with the sorcerer had taken more
of a toll on him then he had expected.  David had offered him one of his
spare beds however Gary had returned to his unit, if for no other reason he
had clothes here.  That was another question he had for David why had the
man felt the need to burn his clothes, surly a sorcerer should have been
able to tell what kind of mage he was.  Gary headed for the shower hoping
the hot water would help as he souped up he thought back on what he had
been prepared to do to gain David's help.  He shuddered thinking about it
he knew that Ben and Linda wouldn't have minded if he had, had sex with
another male.  If it had been a female Linda would probable hunt the poor
women down and possible kill her or just put her into hospital.  The real
issue was that he had been prepared to use himself as payment for help,
Gary shuddered again as he rinsed off.

to their school for sorceresses.  He was the youngest and as such had been
last to display any power, when he did he had kept it from his mother
knowing she would kick him out if she found out such was the sorcerer way.
Girls got sent to a school boys got kicked out and told to make it on their
own; Tony didn't know why and had not worked up the courage to ask David.

Both heard a car pull up in front, it was Sunday and neither were expecting
anyone unless, David cast his mind out and searched only to find nothing.
"I believe it is Gary, that shadow magic he uses is strong I would love to
know who taught him", no sooner had the words left David's mouth and Gary
appeared.  "Leo a vamp who else", Tony gasped loudly "We seek out those
that naturally use an element and learn from them, the more elements the
more crystals".  Gary sat down and took out an energy drink, "So where do
we start with this purity cult".

12 weeks later

Linda looked at the documents referring to stray activity in the area it
was nothing new, she sighed as she felt her babies move.  She looked large
already as she was having twins, she smiled softly wishing Gary were there.
She knew that Gary had found something to focus on; the pain he felt was
still there just better managed.  Ben entered her office and smiled at her,
"Are you ready", Linda nodded, although the pack had all the facilities to
ensure a safe birth, Linda still needed to have an appointment at one of
the hospitals in Brisbane.  The doctor she was seeing was a pack member who
would normally not have insisted on the visit it wasn't for the fact that
she was the Alpha Elect and she was having twins.

They flew to Brisbane from one of the major centres in Queensland, Ben,
Jerry and Jerry's brothers went as well as two older pack members to ensure
their safety.  The hospital was privet one Linda waited with her two guards
the others had gone off somewhere which was fine by Linda.

Ben entered the botanical gardens and inhaled he could sense that Gary was
close and still came here often.  Gary sighed and moved into the shadows,
he had no idea why Ben and Jerry were here and had no intention of breaking
his exile.  Gary avoided them but only just, David walked over to Gary and
raised an eyebrow, "Who were they you so carefully hid from".  Gary
shrugged and started to walk away, David grabbed Gary's shoulder and spun
him around, he could see the tears Gary was fighting to hold in, "Gary was
that one of your mates", Gary nodded, David sighed and pulled the man into
a hug.  "I'm so sorry we are done here for the day", Gary nodded he felt
numb all over.

Linda looked at the doctor and smiled, the doctor was a crystal mage like
Gary, "Well everything appears to be in order your babies are healthy and
at the right size for our kind".  Linda nodded understanding what the
doctor said, werewolves had a shorter pregnancy then humans, it was usually
between five and a half months to six.  "Is there anything else I can do to
help", Linda shook her head, "Do you know where he is, is he", Linda
couldn't finish she broke down into sobs.  The older women took Linda into
her arms, "Be strong my nephew is doing as well as can be expected".  Linda
nodded as she sobbed.

Gary sat quietly for a time with David, David was surprised when Gary
jumped up and started running, it was clear that Gary was following his
mate.  David cursed and ran after him, Gary couldn't help it he needed to
see them, to hold them, and he knew they were close.

Linda exited the hospital, Ben and Jerry were waiting for her, Gary's aunt
had come out with her, Ben sadly shook his head, Linda's shoulders slumped.
The group turned at the sound of running feet, Ben couldn't believe it, it
was Gary his head was filled with Gary's overwhelming scent and presence.
Linda sobbed as Gary took her into his arms, they were both crying and
laughing, "I've missed you", was all either could say.  Gary took a small
step back and saw what he had sensed when he got close, "We are to have
twins".  Ben approached Gary feeling a little shy; Gary grabbed him and
hugged him as tightly as he had done to Linda.

David watched and frowned at the group he could sense sorcerers, he gasped
when it sank in, the packs had sorcerers.  The council would need to be
informed of this new development, he had kept Gary's secret but for the
pack to have sorcerers in it that was too much.

The encounter was brief, it had to be, Gary was still an exile, it helped
them all especially Gary and Linda.  Linda now knew that Gary would return
to her, nothing stood in the way of a werewolf and their pups.  As a result
Linda felt her depression lift she could sense that Gary was in less
emotional pain as they parted he had whispered to her to stay strong.

David and Gary returned to David's house, Gary had moved there a few weeks
back, "We need to talk".  Gary raised an eyebrow and smiled as he took a
seat on one of the lounges in David's comfortable sitting room.  "What do
we have to talk about magic man", David sat heavily in an arm chair, "Until
now I have not felt the need to let the sorcerer collective know about you,
but your mates are a different matter".  Gary shook his head; he found it
difficult to think that someone as smart as David could be so dumb.  "Magic
man do you really think your collective doesn't know", David's eyes went
very wide as it hit him, of cause the council would already know.  "You
must find me dense at times, was all he could think to say", Gary smiled
and nodded.

Linda and Ben entered their fathers office, Alpha Damon looked at his
children, "What is it"? He asked although he already knew, it was Linda who
spoke.  "We broke exile with Gary", Damon smiled at his children, "Did any
other than you pair that had direct contact with the exile", they both
shook their heads.  "Good than we can work around it using your mate bonds
as reasoning, but hear me clearly it can't happen again without
consequences".  Both nodded their understanding.

David woke to the feel of someone entering his bed, he smiled to himself
guessing that it had to be Gary.  "I know we don't have to, but I was
thinking we could have some fun", David shivered as Gary blew gently onto
the back of his neck.  David turned and smiled up at Gary, he had wanted
Gary since the night they met, "Won't your mates mind", Gary shook his
head.  David didn't need to be told anything else he kissed Gary fully on
the lips and took charge.
