Subject: custodia (chapter 2)

This story is a work of fiction. Please don't steal it, it's not nice. This
story is about high school aged boys, some of which are gay, in an
actionish atmosphere. If that bothers or offends you in anyway then please
stop reading. Send all comments to exendomx@hotmail.com. I appreciate as
many comments I can get.


I wasn't unconcious long though, as Jaxon kept shaking me saying "Wake up.
Wake up Greyson" over and over until I did. I was still in the basement. I
had just fought with a Tear and, although he got away, I won. But it wasn't
over yet. I heard a large crash as I ran outside and looked around. I was
in the woods. I hadn't thought about it, but I had no idea where the
Custodia's base was, and as such, had know idea where I was. There was a
river near by and I thought this area looked familiar but I didn't have
time to think. I saw that both Zane and Abigail were fighting. Zane was
fighting against a big, rugged looking guy, who possibly had the longest
hair I'd ever seen on a male. Abigail was fighting a slim flexible looking
raven-haired woman.

"Serpentes, stop fooling around and kill her!" The man screamed as he
knocked Zane down to the ground. He was bleeding heavily, but somehow he
managed to stand back up. Abigail didn't seem much better. The girl she was
fighting seemed to be absurdly flexible because she managed to subdue
Abigail just by wrapping her arms around her...several times around.

"Another mutation," I said to Jaxon, who had just caught up. "They must be
Tears. Why are they able to beat Zane and Abigail so easily." Just as I
said that Abigail broke free and screamed "FREEZE". Just then the female
Tear did freeze...literally. Abigail's entire body became covered in ice
crystals and she froze part of the Tear's arm.

"Damn it, she got me, Leo. I'm outta here. Return to base soon." Said the
female Tear.

"Fine. Go, Serpentes" I'll take these two, and that one too!" He said
angrily pointing at me. He started to charge at me but then Zane whispered
"vanish" and disappeared into a dark cloud of dust. Just before the Tear
reached me, he stopped dead in his tracks and started bleeding from his
chest. Zane had Jumped in front of me and cut the Tear's chest with a
dagger. His clothes had change into a large black coat. The Tear got back
up and spoke to the female Tear. "Fine, Serpentes. I'll go back with you."
He said just before they ran off.

"Are you guys okay?" I asked them, as me and Jaxon went to carry them back
to the base. I picked Zane up as his clothes changed back to normal as
Jaxon helped Abigail up as the ice shattered and melted . We brought them
back to my room and we called the medic to come help take care of them.

As the medic worked on fixing Zane, Abigail began to speak: "I see you
gained your Custodian Blade." I looked at her with a puzzled look until I
realized that I was still holding the sword I used to fight
Capricorn. "Each of us has a blade that holds half our power," she
continued. "The other half is within our bodies as part of our
mutations. We combine the two powers to create an "Awakening." Both I and
Zane used our Awakenings; Mine granted me the power of ice and Zane's gave
him the power of shadows. Yours should grant you the power of light." After
that I told her about my fight and how I released those wings. "Those wings
must have been you're Awakening," she said after I had finished. "It's good
to see that you use your powers already. However, from what you told me it
sounds as if you have no control over your power. We will have one of the
other Custodia help you with that."

"Next," She continued, "You should know that the two we Tears we fought
were named Serpentes and Leo. They always travel around with Capricorn,
primarily because they are known to be the three weakest Tears." I was
stunned for a second by what she had said. They were the weakest! How
strong were the other ten then? I was thinking this just as she
continued. "The Tears also have Awakenings. And as you saw, none of the
three Tears we fought today used there Awakenings. They don't want us to
know what kinda abilities so they save their Awakenings for life
threatening situation. If they had Awakened, they would have surely won."

I was stunned at what she said. But before I had the time to absorb
everything she said: "And finally, we need to figure out what to do with
Jaxon. He is not a Custodia, but if he and you wished he could live here
with us, but he would have to help us in some way. Is there any special
skills he has?"

"He was always interested in medicine," I replied. "Could he possibly be of
any help."

"That might work, we'll have to test him," She stated as she walked over to
Zane. The medic left as Zane was unconcious covered in bandages. "He'll be
okay," she assured me. "He has survived worse. Give him a day or two. But
now I want to show you and Jaxon to your room." She motioned for us to
leave and the two of us walked out into the hall where Jaxon was waiting
for us. We walked down the hall to the elevator which we took to the top
floor of the 10th floor building. We walked into the 2nd room down the hall
and walked in. "Wait here, Greyson. I'd like to talk to Jaxon for a
second," She said as the two of them walked out.

I looked around the room. It was very white. The walls were white, the
bedding was white. The floors were even white. I sat down and started
thinking about the events of the past few days. I hoped that Jaxon would be
able to stay; I wouldn't have been able to handle all these new things by
myself. My thoughts continued as closed my eyes and went to sleep.


I awoke he next morning at 10 AM. Jaxon must have already left because his
side of the bed was empty. I found a note on the nigh table reading: "Grey,
please meet us on the cafeteria on the second floor. Abigail wants us to
meet someone. I can't wait for you to wake up.

Yes. I know, he is sweet. Anyway I went downstairs to meet with Jaxon and
Abigail. I almost missed the elevator but someone held it for me. He was a
guy about my height with large glasses, an average body and short brown
hair. He was wearing a lab coat so I guessed he must have been some kind of
scientist. "Hello, I'm Greyson, nice to meet you." I said as the elevator
door closed.

He smiled and said, "I know. Everyone has been dying to meet you
Greyson. My name is Synclair Lucian. I am one of the head of the medical
division. I am also one of the Custodia. It's great to finally meet you. I
am heading down to the cafeteria as well. I think a few other Custodia are
coming too." We got down to the second floor and the doors opened. I had
never seen such a huge cafeteria before! It had enough room to hold 10,000
people comfortably. Synclair walked over to a table towards the other side
of the room and gestured for me to follow. It was a very fancy looking
table with 10 seats. "Those are for each of the Custodia" said
Synclair. After we sat down only half the seats were taken. Synclair and I
took up two of the seats, the other three were taken up by Jaxon, Abigail
and one huge guy (at least 7 feet) that I didn't recognize.

"Good morning, Grey" Said Jaxon as he walked over and kissed me on the
cheek. I looked around as Abigail poured me some coffee. As she and Jaxon
sat back down she began to speak:

"It looks as though you have already met Synclair, Greyson. That's good
because now I only need to make one introduction. Greyson, this is Justin
Small," she said pointing to the big guy who smiled at me. "He is one of
the Custodia, and he will be training you for the next few weeks. I also
invited Synclair here to introduce him to Jaxon, but as it turns out, they
already met last night."

"Wait," I said. "Is Jaxon going to work in the medical division?" She
nodded and Jaxon smiled. "So Jaxon is staying?"

"That's right," said Justin, in a deep voice. "It's best that you have
someone around to keep you motivated. Jaxon seems to have shown a strong
interest in medicine so he will become Synclair's assistant. But my job is
to help train new soldiers, as the head of the training division. I think
that the two of us should start our training right now. Let's go Greyson."
I stood up gave Jaxon a kiss and followed Justin to the elevator.

Before we left, Abigail shouted to me: "Just remember, rise." I had no idea
what she was talking about so I brushed it off.

We went down to the 1st floor and walked into a room that looked like a
huge dojo. Just as we walked in Justin drew his sword. It was massive, even
compared to his body size. He charged at me and I drew my sword. I tried to
block his sword but he ended up breaking my sword.

"You won't beat me like that." I had suddenly realized, that he wanted me
to fight him as part of my training. I took what was left of my sword cut
his arm with it. He flinched for a second and then said. "Good well that
didn't take long." I was stunned. That was it? No way, that was way too
easy.  And I was right. He walked up to me and held his sword to me and
said "Break". He got even bigger up to 8 feet tall and his entire body
turned to stone. I tried to run away but he caught up and punched me. I
went flying into the wall. I was in serious pain. I couldn't believe he was
allowed to do this, could he get away with anything short of killing me!?
His Awakening was going to beat me if I didn't figure out how to stop
it. Then it hit me. I need to use my Awakening! I tried to figure out how
to use it as I continued to dodge Justin's attacks. I tried to think back
to what happened when all the other Custodia released their Awakenings. I
was running low on energy and the clock read 12:15 which means I had
fighting for an hour. I had to think of something quick

(The story will now switch from 1st to 3rd person. This will repeat
whenever Greyson is not in the scene.)

Jaxon left the cafeteria to meet with Synclair. The medical division was on
the 7th floor. Jaxon walked into the room that Zane was resting in and
Synclair spoke: "I would like you to be Zane's doctor. I believe you have
the capabilities to become a great doctor. I must tend to another patient
but I want you to remove Zane's stitches." Synclair left as Jaxon had a
huge grin on his face.

"You ready Zane?" Jaxon asked.

"Yup. All ready. Go ahead." Jaxon began to remove the stitches one by one
as Zane grumble in mild pain. After about 10 minutes Jaxon was all
done. "Thanks, Jaxon." Zane said as he went back to sleep. Jaxon left the
room with a great feeling of satisfaction.


"ARGH!" I screamed, as Justin flung me into the wall. I had been fighting
for hours and I couldn't handle much more. I had to think back to when
Abigail, Zane and Justin used their Awakenings. What did they have in
common?

FREEZE vanish Break

That's it! They all used commands to use their Awakenings. I had to
think. I must know my command. I only had a few seconds to think. All of
the sudden I remembered what Abigail had said to me before I left the
cafeteria.

"Rise!!!" I screamed as the remains of sword circled around me. Justin went
to swing at me but I jumped over his fist and cut his hand. He screamed in
pain, which made me feel bad, but I had to beat him. He went to swing
again, which confused me because I was to far for him to reach. But to my
shock, his stone fist detached from his body and shot out at me. I tried to
jump, but it hit my wing and broke it. I couldn't believe it. Even with my
Awakening, I couldn't win. I tried to focus as hard as I could, but I
couldn't hit him hard enough to do any real damage. "I have to beat you!" I
screamed as I charged at him. Just then my metal wings felt like they had
disappeared. I looked behind me and they had started turning into wings of
light. I charged at him faster than ever and knocked him into the wall.

"You did it, you won," he said. As he slowly stood back up. His body
returned to normal as did mine. "You used your real Awakening. As you can
tell it gave you a tremendous boost in strength from your basic
Awakening. And now that you know the command you can use the power whenever
you need to. Let's go back and tell Abigail of your achievement." We went
back to the cafeteria for dinner and the table seemed more full. Jaxon was
sitting at a different table with the medics and doctors. He stood up and
gave me a kiss as I walked by. I sat down at the Custodia table and noticed
that I was only one of 7 people at the table.

Zane was up and at the table with us along with Abigail and Synclair. There
were also two other guys I didn't recognize. One had slicked back clack
hair and pale nearly white skin. He wore a lab coat just like Synclair. He
had a very twisted smile on his face and looked a bit creepy. The other was
an effeminate looking male with long brown hair, and brown eyes. He was
much shorter than the other male Custodia.

"Greyson I would like to introduce you to Dale Flynn, the head of our
Science Division, and Mitchell Rain, the head of the Food and Supplies
division." Said Abigail pointing to the guy in the lab coat as Dale, and
the effeminate one as Mitchell.

"Nice to meet you, Greyson," Said Mitchell as he shook my hand. "It will be
nice to have a new face around here. Dale say hello." He said turning to
the guy in the lab coat.

"No, I'll say hello to him if I can use him to test some new drugs." He
said with an eerie smile.

"So anyway," Abigail started, "I heard from Justin that you finished your
training in one day. That's pretty impressive only two other people have
ever managed to do that before. But that is a story for another day you and
Jaxon should get some sleep. You will have your first mission tomorrow."

I finished eating and brought Jaxon upstairs with me as we showered up and
got ready for bed. I knew I had to be prepared for tomorrow.
