Chapter Five

      The storm had progressively worst as thunder and lighting started in
and the power got cut off in the house. Daniel walked into the kitchen to
see through his glasses with his nocturnal eyes that Kyle and Jon had been
recruited helping with dinner. Mom was busy at the stove and poor Mike was
blind.

     "Hey...uh do you guys have a flash light"? Mike asked as he stood at
the sink in the dark.

    "Oh that's right you... I mean uh we don't have flashlights. Daniel why
don't you take Mike in the living room and sit with him while me and your
brothers finis up with dinner", Daniel's mom said as his brothers groaned.

    "How can you do this in the dark"? Mike asked curiously.

     "We lived here for years Mike dear, so we know our home inside and out
we can manage in the dark" she replied as Daniel took Mike by the hand led
him out of the kitchen.

     Mike was pretty happy to not have to clean the peel the newly washed
potatoes, the hand that grasped his felt slimy and soft like uncooked
fish. It was a pleasant sensation though for him, it wasn't really gross as
some might think it was, it was like his hand was getting warmed
up. Feeling a little vulnerable in the dark but Daniel led him without

think it's wonderful that you're staying over".

      Now Mike read the signs, nervousness, nosebleeds, and the fact when

to use the washroom or something it might be nice to be able to get down
right in the middle of the night"?

why not"? As he started thinking of what it would be like to sleep in the

those... Plasma Feeders, didn't let maniacs like that loose in our

   "Shit Don that is pretty ignorant of you" the Sheriff said very bluntly
in his southern state accent "hell some packs still have rabid rogues. Just
cause ours hadn't had one in over a hundred years doesn't mean all packs
don't".

    "Yes I know, I just had a hard night I suppose. How long will we need
to be monitoring the situation anyway"? Don said rubbing his eyes.

   "Till morning", Joseph said as he started adding some milk to his
coffee.

       Removing the bolt from the tree, Leonardo Pacelli looked over the
clothes at his feet and the ashes that started to melt in the rain. With

killed all except one Leo was keen to finish the job and return back home.

     Leaping into the air Leo let his feather light weight carry him from
tree branch to tree branch till finally he found his target climbing a side
of a house. Clearly it wanted something inside of there, sniffing the air
Leo smelt that it was chased from there before and something very pleasing
to it and Leo was inside. Moving to an adjacent tree he momentarily was

      The rabid vampire had just broken the window outside a room and it
snapped Leo into reality in a split second he shot the rabid vampire. It

clothes, retrieving his bolt he sped back to his branch.

     Leo was about to leave but he got a scent, it was a strong scent, it
