Subject: hero in love 5

well here is part 4 of hero in love. I just realized I forgot the
normal disclaimers and whatever. so you know the drill. if your not
supopsed to be here, don't be.

chapter 5.

stupid map!! he couldn't fly and read the stupid map at the
same time. he had to keep slowing down to figure out where he was.
finding the great lakes had been easy enough.. just head north for
awhile then east tell he found water. but he had to keep stopping
to check where he was. plus the fact that it was dark didn't help
at all.

Finally he came to what looked like a perimeter, and landed.
several survey stations were set up allowing what looked to be the
canadian guard moving back and forth escorting worried looking people
and crying children.

He zoomed down, and landed much to the shock of everyone there.

"halt!!" several soldiers said, raising there guns. Kyle
raised his hands, some what worriedly. he wasn't sure if he could
take a direct bullet.

"um. Im here to help?" he said weakly. this was not turning out
how he'd imagined at all. super man always got a good treatment. but
then again in the movies everybody already knew who he was.

"put your guns down." a deep voice replied. a general or
something like it came walking through the ring of men. "general
Husky. at your service. we could use your skills." he said.

"but sir.." one of the men said.

"that's An order!!" he barked, and the man shutup. Kyle
couldn't help but grin as he strode through the circle of men, just
barely flexing his power to keep his hair blonde. no sense in giving
away more about himself than he had too.

"Here. these are our scientists." the general said, pulling
him into a trailer. "they're are monitoring the plant from here." he
explained. now that Kyle was paying more attention, he could tell that
the general looked quite stressed.

a white haired man in a lab coat turned to the general. "who is
this? we can't have young civillians running around..." then he put
it together after looking at Kyle's make shift suit. he was quite
surprised

"you.. oh my. you saved the US shuttle did you not?" he asked,
putting it together. Kyle nodded, blushing at the praise.

"the amount of force that the shuttle was under.." he trailed
off in wonder, then shook his head. "No matter. perhaps you can be
of assistance. point le preaux is old. it provides power to a very
large area of ppl. and due to something, a 1 in 10000000 chance. the
core is going to go critical." he spoke.

Visions of fire, and death, and radiation spun through Kyle's
head. Some of it must have been on his face, because the next official
spoke. "not quite what you are thinking. critical means the heat inside
gets to a massive temperature, causing the nuclear material to become
liquid."

Most of this went over Kyle's head, but what he did get was
that if it DID happen, radiation could leak out over miles of area,
causing untold devestation.

"So how do I stop it?" he asked, wondering if he'd survive.
He must be crazy to do this. But then if he was going to be a hero, he
needed to do this. The scientists looked at each other.

"Damn it!! if I took the force of reentry, I should be able to
take this right?" he said, his aura flaring in emphasis.

"but the forces are completely different. that was like a fly
compared to the power here.." the head lead said.

"Just tell me!! if I die.. oh well. lots more ppl will die
if this goes critical, and even if you manage to evacuate, the radiation
will leave ppl here homeless." Kyle argued.

the younger man nodded. " hes right. what you do is go in to
the main control room. there will be a tank of water. you need to
force the rods back into their housing."

"ARE you INSANE?" the older man argued back. " that water..
it would kill him."

"I don't care. this is what we do." Kyle said, silencing the
man. all looked at him in shock. "heroes, I mean."

"Im going in. anything else I should know?" he asked. the
younger man looked at him with a look of ... admiration?

"yes. cut the hydrolic lines once you push the rods down, or
they will withdraw again." he said. That was all Kyle needed. he
charged out of the trailer, and was off.

Kyle could here several gasps and could see people down below
pointing up at him as he flew over head. oh yeah. assuming he survived
this, there was no way anybody was going to believe taht he was some
alien or wierd thing from nature. well he was, but not in the sense
the news was saying.

he arrived at the power plant, which had been evacuated and
sealed off. as if anybody would want to get in there if this happened,
Kyle thought as he flexed and ripped the door open. wow. he WAS strong
when he wanted to be. he'd tested his power, but not like that. this
would require more practice.. he thought as he flew down the hallway,
working his way inside.

Soon, after more doors, and general destruction he came to
what seemed like the main area. yep there was the giant tank of water,
and the control rods, hovering over it. the computer system was
blaring and the systems were flashing. Kyle waded in, his aura flexed
around him, and began to push, holding the rods down. wow. the
hydrolics were rather strong. KYle sent out a whip of energy that cut
the lines to it, and felt it stop fighting him. he pushed the rods
down, and waited, his aura still on and strong.

almost as if a light switch had been hit, it was done. and Kyle felt
lighter, as if a sudden pressure had been removed he hadn't noticed
until it was gone. and the control room wasn't blinking that menacing
red light anymore.

Now what? Kyle decided to fly out, and find out if he needed to
stick around. maybe they would need help like moving people, or like
something. Kyle left the building, following the path of destroyed
doors. Hopefully they wouldn't mind.

He walked out and launched into the air, the wind brushing
past his face. as he flew he could see several vehicles below him
rushing towards the power plant. He figured they could deal with it,
and hoped they wouldn't be too angry that he'd destroyed the security
doors in fixing the problem.

Kyle flew back to where the trailers were, and doused his
energy, thinking he might just find out if he was radioactive. it
wouldn't be good for him to go home and contaminate everything.

he landed, and found one lab worker still monitoring the
plant.

"hello." Kyle said, feeling dumb. what do you say to someone
in that situation?

"you stopped the reaction!!" the man exclaimed viewing footage
of Kyle's entrance.

"yeah. sorry about the doors." Kyle apologized, feeling really
stupid. "look, before I go, could you like run some sort of radiation
test or something on me?" he asked.

"the fact that your skin isn't showing any signs of damage is
already promising." The man said, grabbing some strange apparatus.

"this is a gieger counter." he said, as he ran it up and down
Kyle's body. " nothing. you seem to be fine." he said wonderingly. "I
just can't believe you did that.." he trailed off.

"I had to. otherwise people would have died. and this whole
area would have become unlivable." Kyle said, now starting to blush.

"but you didnt' even know if you would be ok.." the man said.

"yeah, but there was a chance.. and I knew I was at least
strong enough to stop it, even if I didn't survive." Kyle said, now
feeling kinda sick at what he'd done. what if things hadn't gone well?
he wouldn't have had time to explain.. no time to tell anyone what had
happened to him.

"Thank you." the assistant said, putting his hand on Kyle's
shoulder.

"I have to go. more things to save.. you konw." Kyle said,
then waved good bye as he took off.

******************

Kyle made it home faster than he'd taken to leave so the sun
was still going down when he got back. landing in the hills then
climbing down ot his house was getting old, but he had to do it.

he was going to have to start hiding his costume out here and
fresh clothes. he couldnt' just walk into the house with his costume
on.
Kyle managed to get inside the house and changed. then walked
up stairs. "whats up?" he asked. "I'm back." he added stating the
obvious.

"oh Kyle. you just missed..." his mother began, but the tv
interrupted her.

"news flash as the incident at point lepreau has been resolved
thanks to a mysterious boy in a costume." there was better video
footage this time of Kyle flying over head, and security footage of
him WADING into the reactor and stopping the melt down." we go now
live to a scientist on the site with Rachel.

a woman, presumably rachel was standing there, with one of the
other assistants.

"so what in your words happened?" she asked.

"well. this boy walks in and says he wants to help. so our
boss says theres no way. and he says he has to try. now Erik, tells
him that he would need to put the rods back in the core. so what does
he do? he FLIES out, and before we know it.. the reactor has gone
stable." He said, wonder still in his voice.

"and your thoughts?" the interviewer asked him.

"he is a true hero. he didn't know if the radiation would
affect him, but he did it anyway. those radiation levels would have
killed anyone else. But he dove in anyway." Kyle felt his heart leap in
his chest as he watched a very good shot of him bursting through the
security doors, and wading into the pool to push the reactor rods
back down. wow. he looked good. and blonde. very blonde.

"Well there you have it folks. this new superhero has saved
these citizens from a terrible fate." the interviewer said.

The camera switched back to the lead person. "well and now
we have Tom with on the spot interviewing." the channel switched
again to Tom who was talking to several different groups.

"And what did you see little boy?" he asked, bending over to
ask a small child.

"I saw a big boy flying through the air." he said excitedly,
he eyes wide open. "he was blue." the little brown haired boy was
quite cute as he bounced on his toes.

Tom moved up to the father. " and you sir?" he asked. The
father looked like an older version of the son. brown hair, summer
tan.

"well like my son said it was a boy. he looked anywhere from
11-14. I remember how boys get at that age." He laughed. "But yes, it
was definitely a boy." The interviewer moved on, this time to a black
woman who said the same thing.

it was cool watching himself on TV. Kyle was feeling really
good about it.

"oh honey. while you were out that jason finally called you. I
told him you went skate boarding." his mother said. WHAT?

"why are oyu telling me now?" he asked angrily.

"well I was distracted honey." she defended.

"Well whats the number?" he asked, rushing to the phone.

"oh its..." she rattled off his number, and Kyle dialed.

"please pick up please pick up" he thought as it rang. he
didn't want Jason to think he'd forgotten but it did take him quite a
while.

"hello?" a female voice finally answered.

"yes. this is Kyle. is jason around?" he asked, trying not to
sound too anxious.

"oh yes, he's here." Kyle heard the voice on the phone yell
for jason. then Kyle heard another click.

	"hey!!" it was jason.

"sorry I wasn't here.." Kyle began. as he heard the other phone
click off.

"no it's ok. my mom and aunt dragged me out to eat, and it took
forever. Good food though." he said, sounding happy. So thats why he
took so long. "I didn't expect you to wait that long." he said, as if
it were no big deal. maybe it wasn't to jason, but it was to Kyle.

"no it's just I had.." Kyle was going to say, but Jason beat
him. "did you see that news report?" Jason asked in a rush.

"yeah. thats why I didn't call quite as fast. I got home and my
mom was like " Watch this." Kyle explained. how could he tell Jason
just how much he meant? Kyle REALLY wanted him as a friend, more if it
was possible.

"oh. well anyway. can you believe its some boy? just a boy,
doing that??" he asked.

"yeah it is wierd." Kyle replied.

"I was looking into power plants, and do you understand the
level of radiation that was in that pool of water?" Jason said
excitedly.

"I think so. the scientist on the tv was rather impressed
by it.

"YES! I know. it's so cool!!" Kyle was glad to hear someone
liked him.

"dude. its so amazing. they have security footage ALL over
the web. The comic people are eating this UP." wow. Kyle knew he'd be
big, but not this big? or did he?

Kyle walked into the den and booted up the computer while on
his phone.

"Are you watching now?" jason asked, still rattling on about
the whole awesomeness of it.

"No, I'm booting up my computer. why?" he asked.

"the lady is interviewing that scientist still. Apparently he
had a one on one talk with the kid after he stopped the reactor." Oh
yeah.

"Dude. that kid didn't even know if he'd be able to survive
doing that. that's awesome." Jason said, his voice suddenly weak. Kyle
was still feeling stupid about that one. and it made him feel a little
weak in the knees. He definitely needed a way to test his powers out at
a stronger level.

"So.. are we still up for the air show tommorrow?" Kyle asked,
changing the subject. He'd been dying to talk to Jason about it, and
now all he was getting was his alter ego. sure it was nice to be
admired, but still.

"oh yeah. I can get a little money from my mom I think." he
replied.

"Great. it's free you know, but the stands cost money. it will
probably be hot so we should wear hats." Kyle went off, suddenly very
nervous.

"kay. so.. what's up? besides you konw.. everything?" Kyle
suddenly was at a loss for htings to say.

"well um. how are we getting to the show?" Jason asked.

"oh yeah. I thought we'd ride the bus, and take our bikes."
Kyle said. Jason went quiet on the phone.

	"Um.. well..." he began.

"you don't have a bike?" Kyle concluded. maybe Jason could just
piggy back on his. that way he'd have a reason to be close to him. Kyle
felt a sudden surge in his cock as this thought ran through his head.

	"no." Jason said, sounding depressed.

"its ok. you can just piggy back on my bike."
***********

An hour later Jason finally got off the phone, feeling really
good. Kyle had been a bit nervous, but so had he, but after a while
they'd fallen back into the easy friendship that had started building.
of course, Jason was only 14, and he'd not really noticed it was like
that.

"so who was that?" his mother asked curious as he got off the
kitchen phone.

"that was my new friend Kyle." Jason said. "I called him
earlier, but he wasn't home." duh. his mother could be so like out of
it sometimes. but she was really nice to him and his friends. when she
remembered they're names anyway.

"that's nice. you wanted money for the air show tommorrow?"
she said, setting down by him at the counter.

"Yes please. the show is free, but the stands have like food
and stuff." he said, wishing they weren't so poor.

"Well why don't you pack a lunch. your aunt made some of
her slush if you wanna take that in a thermos." his mother suggested.

"really? AWESOME!!" (A/N see recipe below for sugary goodness)

"Hey Shannon." His mother called to his aunt who was in the
bedroom.

"yes?" She called back. Jason loved his aunt, even if she had a
sort of strange guy hating thing about her. his mother didn't talk
about it, but he was pretty sure she was a lesbian.

"Jason is going to the air show tommorrow. and he wants to pack
a lunch. is that ok?" she asked. Jason hated having to live here, and
free loading on his aunt. it felt wrong.

"Sure. Enjoy the show tommorrow. It's always good, but I've
never gotten up the desire to fight the traffic." She said as she
wandered in the kitchen. Jason's aunt was a blonde slender woman, and
while she wore a tank top and shorts, she always held herself as if
she were somebody important.

"Thanks Shannon." He said as he hugged her. Jason could feel
her grin above him.

wel thats chapter 5. I need to say some stuff here. first,
chapter 4 wasn't the best written as I don't know much about canada
and there military OR who would actually deal with an evacuation
like that. btw point lepreau is in canada.
