P.S. Someone said I posted a chapter with an objectionable scene because
someone was killed. Sometimes charachters die in the course of a story,
I'm sorry if this disturbs certain readers. I hate it when bad things
happen to charachters I like to so, I am sorry to the reader I offended.

FIVE

Gloria stood a few steps back as the children placed the flowers on
their father's grave. She had never told them that there was no body
buried there. The funeral service had, of course, been closed casket as
there had been nothing in the box to see. She could see no point in
confusing them by saying that nobody knew where their father's body was.
If there even was a body.
The missing money and no body still had her thinking Jerrison was alive
some place not wanting to be with them for some reason. She could
understand his wanting to be away from her but not why he would do this to
his kids. He was not that type of man. Of all the shitty things that
Jerrison had done, and there were a few, he had been a perfect father. She
could and would never fault him for that which is why she believed he was
gone by someone else's hand. At the moment her bet was on Phillip. He had
always been jealous of Jerrison and everything he and accomplished. She'd
never believed that Phillip was really Jerrison's friend and she wondered
if Jerrison had either. He was too smart a man to fall for Phillip shallow
ego driven act.
   "Mom?"
   "Yes dear?"
"I asked you if you missed Daddy." Ricky looked as though he were about
to cry. He was eleven, almost twelve but he still wore him emotions on his
sleeve and was prone to tears far more easily than his nine year old
sister.
"Of course I miss your father, honey. I loved your Daddy a lot."
"Why did you fight so much then?"
"Grown ups sometimes don't get along honey. Daddy and I had a few
problems and we were having trouble fixing them. I'm sorry we upset you
and your sister." She hugged her son to her and kissed his brownish red
head of hair. He was so much like his father, so much so that it scared
her at times. She knew that Ricky was almost the same age now that
Jerrison was when he became involved with that other boy, the one who had
died when they were in college. It terrified her that Ricky would be the
same way, have the same desires. The laws were so strict now, the
punishments so... severe.
"Cynthia, you haven't said much." Gloria said.
"What should I say, Mother," Cynthia said. The girl shed no tears. She
stared at her hugging Ricky. "Don't you miss your father, Cynthia?"
"I suppose so. I don't really remember him that well any more. He was
there but I don't have any clear memories of him spending time with me."
"He did, though. He read to you almost every night and took you out for
ice cream. He was always doing things with the two of you."
"Yes, but rarely with just me." Cynthia said.
Gloria had never noticed the selfish coldness in her daughter's voice
before. It sounded... familiar, and that scared her. It reminded her of
things that Jerrison had said every time they argued about schools. Had he
been right, was the girl becoming spoiled or did she just resent her
brother? Gloria knew she was going to have to have a long private talk
with her daughter.
"I want to go, Mom," Ricky said.
"I thought we'd have dinner out." Gloria said.
"I'm not hungry," Ricky said. He lowered his head and walked off toward
her blue Mercedes sitting at the curb.
"I would like to go to The Tea House Mother." Cynthia said.
"Alright, dear. We'll take your brother home first, and we'll go to the
Tea House."
   "Thank you, Mother."
"Go to the car dear." Gloria said.
"Yes, Mother." Cynthia turned and walked primly away in her school girl
uniform.
Gloria looked at the stone monument with her husband's name and dates
etched on it. "Where are you Jerrison? I know you're not dead, and I know
you didn't leave them because you wanted to. I know you think I hated you
and maybe I did, a little, but damnit, that boy wants his father back. I
don't know about Cynthia but Ricky needs you. I don't understand this and
you went through it, if this is what he's going through. I don't know.
Come home please. We'll get a divorce. I don't care anymore. Just come
home." Gloria turned and walked away to where the kids stood beside the
expensive luxury car Jerrison had given her for their fifteenth wedding
anniversary.

Phillip stood beside the tree out of sight. He had heard every word
they had said and he wondered about some of what she had said about the
boy. He wondered if he'd made a mistake keeping Walker alive. The
solution had seemed humorous and ideal at the time but now he wondered.
He had spent a fortune having Jerrison Walker's past investigated and
was amazed the man hadn't tried to hide his homosexual early years better
than he had. In fact he had done nothing to hide his affair with the dead
boy. He supposed it didn't matter, it wasn't illegal at the time it was
going on and he had "straightened up" and flown right after that. There
were no gay affairs to be found in his life after his marriage, plenty of
straight ones though.
Phillip wondered if Jerrison ever knew he had another kid in
Denver. Probably not, there were no payments to the mother and no visits to
either of them after the affair ended. The woman must have never told him
or never figured out who the father was. It had only taken one secret
blood test done at the school the kid was in to find out for sure that the
boy was Jerrison's.
   Oh, well. No matter now.
He opened his cell phone and dialed a number that was answered on an
island off the coast of Australia.
"Well, how is he settling in?"
"He's sitting in a jail cell charged with domestic assault at the
moment."
"Really, that's interesting. Did he do it?"
"No, of course not. I arranged it."
"Any particular reason?" Phillip didn't really care, he was just
curious about where his money was being spent.
"He was digging a little too deeply and hitting all the right veins."
"Jerrison never was stupid and he is very determined. I just thought he
would take a little longer before he started getting a scent. Couldn't
find a piece of tail to distract him enough?"
"I thought I had. I guess I was wrong. Maybe I should have went
younger."
"He's not a pedophile, how old was the one you set him with?"
   "Twenty-two."
"Well, do what you can to keep him occupied. I may have something else
that will keep him busy to send down there."
   "Oh?"
"It seems his son may have the same desires. If his kid gets sent there
it will keep him occupies especially if the boy is part of the companion
service." Phillip said.
   "How old is this kid?"
   "Oh, twelve, I think."
"Too young, they'd never take him."
   "Money talks, remember that."
"I doubt it talks that loudly. There are laws you know, even here.
Minimum age is fifteen."
"I see." Phillip said. "I'll have to look in a different direction
then. Disapointing."
"I'll check a few things out. There is an underground here, or so I'm
told."
"Yes, do check that out for me. Keep me informed of what you discover."
   "Yes sir."
Phillip closed the phone and replaced it in his suit coat pocket as he
walked back to the Lincoln and it's driver which awaited him.

On the island Reginald hung up his office hone and began trying to
figure out how to sneak a twelve year old boy onto the island and into the
underground slave sex trade.
