I have been absolutely astounded by the amount of emails and messages I
received about the story with Jared and his family.  I am thankful that
some of these words I printed may have touched some people's lives, and
that they shared those moments with me. I had no clue that writing a story
like this would affect so many people in the ways they have described to
me.  I'm idealistic and have spent my life in the public service in law
enforcement and then in the field as a paramedic wanting to make a
difference.  But, being a Medic is a young man's job so I'm doing something
else now.  When I am not working, I'm at home reading the news or playing
with my pets and watching the history channel, the space channel or
cartoons.

I am not a professional writer but I have been enjoying myself to like this
hobby for the moment or until a squirrel leads me into another direction.

Preamble
Jared the Paramedic Volume II - The Family Gathers

"Healing doesn't mean the damage never existed.  It means the damage no
longer controls our lives."

Recap

Adam is still living with his grandfather while working at the store, and
he has applied to both the Police Academy and Paramedic school.  He has
developed a strong and healthy friendship with Conner and Mark while
continuing to attend healing sessions with Jared and Liam.  All three of
them are having very positive effects on each other and progressing
steadily.  Conner and Mark are still very good friends, but neither want to
use the term "boyfriend" when speaking of the other. To be honest, they
don't know if they are boyfriends, good friends or anything in between.
Frank (Mark's dad) is very happy to have both of them living with him and
even refers to them as his twin sons as one is never far from the other.
Adam stays with them regularly and Frank thinks of all three of them all as
his sons.  When Adam is visiting, they are like triplets - or more like
Larry, Curly and Moe.  Adam, Conner and Mark still visit with the guys and
stay over at the cabin on a regular basis.

Jared and Liam now both live at Jared's apartment, together.  There weren't
any logistical problems in moving Liam's personal property and furniture
over to the apartment as he actually owned very little.  He had been
renting a furnished apartment full of items which looked like a Goodwill
store or garage sales had supplied him.  Jared was quite relieved to find
out Liam didn't have a lot of things, and was very happy to realize Liam
had not furnished the apartment he had been living in.  Jared had actually
described it as looking like a Salvation Army truck had backed up and
barfed its contents into the space.  They were actively looking for a
bigger apartment or a house where they could live together.  He had spoken
to grandfather about it and strangely enough they had been told by the old
man it was being looked after.

Jared and Liam were both invited to commence instructing at the college
part-time.  The main instructors needed assistance during the psychomotor
or scenario based training days.  At other times, a replacement is needed
the College to teach for the day when the regular instructor is sick for
the day.

Rob returned to work after a week of recovery at home.  He has no
recollection of the happening in the church after being slapped by the
Pastor, hitting his head and going unconscious.  Both Liam and Jared were
very pleased with Rob remembering the implanted story without hesitation.

Rob has a new Human Resources person at the ambulance base that he is going
to affectionately refer to as the "Tiger Lady" after her mentor, the Dragon
Lady.  Melanie had known the new HR Manager Dawn in the Marine Medical
Corps and while she has same sense of humor as Melanie, Dawn is more or a
correct paperwork and procedure fanatic.  Rob is quite happy with the help
and leaves most of the daily interactions with the staff to her to deal
with.

There have been several new staff members brought in, and Rob has been
impressed with the quality of people his new HR Manager has been hiring.
Dawn has continued to hire newly graduated people and give them the
opportunity to prove themselves while balancing them with a few who were
previously in the military who excellent previous experience.  These people
also need some help psychologically to reintegrate into civilian life, and
this was a good opportunity for her and Melanie to help them in that
respect as well.  It had been done with Rob's blessing, after Melanie told
him it was going to happen anyways in spite of whatever his skinny little
ass said.

editor Scott who has shown a wonderful knack of interpret my crayon writing
and pictures to make it into a story.
