The Lost Princes
BY: KipKerensky

Early the next morning, Timmy woke up feeling the cool breeze coming in
from the window. Timmy mutters, not being fully awake yet "Sir, could you
close the window?" Timmy pulls the covers back over him, and not hearing a
response and the breeze just blowing right across his face, gets up and
closes the window. Still a little sleepy he turns around and realizes that
Mystyque isn't there. Timmy wanders around the house looking for him,
arrives in the kitchen. Being still a little weak from being sick and still
sleepy, he stumbles into a chair in the room. He notices Ilk and say,
"Could you cook something warm for me?"

Ilk grins as he notices Timmy is wearing nothing and nods his head. Ilk
sets about cooking some eggs Mystyque left behind turning them into a
soup. Timmy stands up and gets some bacon and hands it to Ilk, "some of
this, and some sort of soup?" Ilk nods realizing Timmy isn't looking at
what he is cooking, continues making the soup. Timmy sits back down and
rests his hands on his crotch, shivering a little from the cold air. Timmy
starts to fall asleep and after a few minutes is sleeping again. Ilk looks
over at Timmy and notices he is sliding out of the chair, he quickly
catches him and lowers him to the ground and covers him with a couple
towels.

"Did you hear something?"

"No, I didn't smell anything either."

Two fairies are outside the cabin near the window Timmy had closed, while
three others are looking for tracks. "Over hear, there's fresh tacks." All
the fairies gather around the tracks. "By smell and looks," the leading
fairy says, "it seems kids made these, but highly trained."

Another fairy looks a little closer and says, "one of 'em is a druid."

All the fairies look at each other and try to look inside the cabin, but
are unable to see anything. "Well, lets move on. Record this to pass to the
Generals with the info we gathered. Lets head back to the town and see if
we missed anything."

Sean wakes up with Matthew and Kenny holding on to him in their sleep. Sean
smiles and stays still loving the warmth. He starts to fall back asleep
when he hears a wolf start to howl from nearby. He realizes that it is the
one that followed him. Sean sighs and starts to free himself from Kenny and
Matthew. Both of them continue to sleep as Sean gets out of bed with a
morning hard-on that brushes by Kenny and Matthew's arms. Sean smiles
happily as he pulls the covers back over them and gets his clothes on. He
heads towards the door outside intending to go straight out, but as he
passes the kitchen, smells the food cooking. He glances in and sees pots
moving on their own and Timmy lying asleep on the floor. He heads towards
Timmy's room, grabs some blankets, and goes back to the kitchen and covers
Timmy with them. He turns toward the stove, and asks, "Could I get some raw
meat?"

Ilk gets some meat from the food area and gives it to Sean, while also
pushing him out of the kitchen saying "he's sleeping, be quiet."

Sean nods and leaves the house. He walks to the side of the house and walks
towards the trees and is greeted by a playful pounce by the wolf which
knocks him to the ground. Sean giggles a little and holds the meat out for
the wolf, who starts to eat it while Sean continues to hold the
bone. "hmmm, you need a name don't you? How bout Smokey?" The wolf stops
eating and growls, then yanks the meat from Sean's hand and starts eating
it on the ground. Sean rolls his eyes and is surprised that it understood
what he said. As if the wolf heard what he was thinking it nods it's head
as if agreeing. Sean starts saying names and none of them the wolf
likes. He runs out of names and goes to some weird ones and says, "Sleak,
now that's a good name." The wolf, having finished the meat a little bit
ago, rubs Sean's stomach and is happy. "OK then, Sleak it is. Now with a
name like that, I hope you are quiet." Sleak pounces on Sean again and
starts licking his face. Sean ruffles Sleak's ears and both head towards
the cabin after Sean brushes himself off a little. Sleak sniffs around and
catches Ilk's scent in the kitchen, walks over and growls at him. Sean
shushes Sleak and pulls him out of the kitchen saying its OK. Sleak sniffs
and as they pass the bedroom, recognizes Kenny and Matthew. He bounds into
the room and onto the bed, which neither one wakes up to, and he starts
licking Kenny causing him to wake up and, as he tries to get away, wakes
Matthew up. Sean rushes in and tries not to laugh as Kenny and Matthew fall
out of bed with Sleak nuzzling their hands and, once all are on the ground
with Kenny and Matthew lying on the floor, nuzzles their faces. Sean starts
petting Sleak and says, "its OK guys, sorry about it but I was going to
wake you up soon."

Kenny and Matthew glare at Sean and Sleak and Kenny says, "Oh, it's OK. We
were awake when you got up and you sure where hard." Kenny and Matthew
start laughing.

"Why you sneaky little......."

Kenny says "and I see why Matthew likes you so much."

Sean stares at Matthew who grins and licks his lips. Sean says, "You two,
you really don't know the meaning of the word stop."

Both nod and giggle. They look at each other than rush Sean and kiss him
and play a little with Sleak who growls happily. Sean smiles and they all
walk to the kitchen. Kenny and Matthew see Timmy sleeping on the
floor. Matthew walks over and shakes him awake. "Timmy, you OK?"

Timmy sits up, rubbing his eyes and staggers to a chair at the table with
Matthew helping him. Everyone else sits down and start eating the eggs, egg
soup and bacon. As Timmy starts to eat, everyone falls to talking about the
morning. Sean talks about his wolf, and Timmy about Mystyque disappearing
before he woke up. Matthew keeps looking at Timmy, grins and looks under
the table. "Why'd you fall asleep in here Timmy?"

"I was cold in my room from an open window. And I wanted something to eat."

Everyone stares at him like he's crazy. Sean says, "It was hot in out room
and when I went outside."

"I don't know, it just was!"

Kenny says "well, considering you slept naked, I can guess why you were
cold."

Timmy blushes before realizing that Matthew and Kenny are still naked. He
looks at both of them and says, "So it was that hot for you in your room
though?"

They all look at each other, before bursting out in laughter. Sean stops
first and says, "So anyone have any ideas what to do today?"

"What day is it?"

"Its sixty-nine point seven."

"Jesh, tomorrow's my birthday."

"And mine's the day after."

"Your birthday really is 69 point 8?"

"Yeah Kenny, it is."

Kenny and Sean decide to head to go outside, though not saying they're
going to sneak into town to find some presents. Timmy and Matthew stay
inside and go exploring in the house.

----------------------

"They've stopped just north of the town?"

"Yes sir, they have with no reason as to why."

Volmort starts pacing and mutters, "why stop, not keep going."

Zel stands at the door waiting for some orders. "Zel."

"Yes sir?"

"How far are we from Zanthing at the current time."

Zel consults a device showing a map of the area, and says, "About two days
at this speed. Maybe a day and a half or less if we travel all day long
without a stop." Zel hopes they won't as the airship, unlike most ships,
need time to rest as some of the spells are old, and the crew likes having
time to walk on the ground.

"Zel, keep the ship flying and change course for Zanthing. Maybe we'll get
there before they attack, or right after they start."

"Yes sir. I'll rotate the shifts so we get enough people up to man the ship
but rested for when we get there."

"Good, and also send this note to the King. He should know about the
situation by now."

Zel takes the note and starts to leave. "Also get everyone ready for battle
and send Zach to me."

Zel, while facing away, rolls his eyes and nods. He leaves and heads
towards the slave area but stops first at the bird room on the ship. He
gets some of the good feed and walks over to one of his hawks. He attaches
the note to its foot and tells it to head to the King and deliver the
message. After the hawk takes flight he heads towards the slave
area. "Zach, come here!"

"Yes master," Zach replies popping up from one of the corners. Zel smiles
at the young gnome as he hurries over and laughs as another slave runs from
the same corner towards the sleeping area. Zel reaches down and ruffles the
boy's black hair. Before talking he reaches down to lift Zach's eyes to
meet his own. "Volmort wants you Zach."

Zach shutters and says, very slowly, "yes master."

"Make him happy, and maybe we'll be able to start your training as a
druid."

Zach looks up happily and yammers promises that he will and Zel just smiles
be able to understand maybe a third of what Zach says. Zel pats Zach's ass
and Zach hurries away. Zel goes back up to the deck and gets the crew ready
for the flat out sailing.

------------------

"So Timmy, what now?"

"I don't know, wish Sean and Kenny were here though."

"You kidding right? You think they would let us do what we did?" Matthew
crosses his arms and makes a face like his pouting and imitates Kenny's
voice "Now you know you shouldn't be rolling in the mud."

Timmy cracks up in laughter remembering how after they searched the house,
they went outside and rolled in some mud naked throwing mud balls at each
other. Then going to the stream to clean up before playing hide-n-seek in
the house. "But they probably would be able to think of other fun stiff to
do."

"Like?"

Timmy pulls out his quarterstaff making it long and shows it to
Matthew. "Like telling us what bonding means. Its a power of this staff
Mystyque gave me and I don't know what it means."

Matthew shrugs, "Maybe it's like that blood brother ritual I head Kenny
talking about one time."

Timmy looks at Matthew before saying, "Well Mystyque wrote after the power
'not harmful, touch 2 people and they become bonded for life.' Wonder what
it really means."

"Try it on you and me."

"But what if it is something that is bad every though its not harmful?"

Matthew thinks and then frowns, "Yeah, maybe it's bad. But how to test it?"

"Lets ask Sean and Kenny when they get back."

"OK Timmy. What other stuff does it have?"

"Lots of harmful stuff. Wish I had something to test it on."

"Try it on me!" Matthew starts giggling as Timmy looks at him
puzzled. Timmy grins and puts the staff back in his pocket as he grabs a
stick. He chases after Matthew saying, "OK I will!"

They run around the house until they become tired and they talk about what
they've done before. As night falls they head to the kitchen and start
eating. They look outside wondering where Sean and Kenny are and see a
heavy rainfall outside. "Glad we aren't out in that storm." Timmy says.

"Yeah, but where is Sean and Kenny?"

"No clue, hope they aren't outside though."

"Yeah, they would get soaked."

"So what we going to do tomorrow?"

"I'll let you know tomorrow Timmy. I want to surprise you."

"You can tell me, I'll act surprised again tomorrow."

"Uh unh. I've done this to Kenny also on his."

Timmy shrugs and walks towards his room. Matthew grins and goes to the
kitchen to tell Ilk what to make for tomorrow. He then walks into Timmy's
room also and slips in the bed with him.

----------

"So Sean. What you planning on getting them?"

"Well, I know Timmy is kinda a magic-user."

"Like me?"

"Well a mage or something. I head him say he was a shaman."

"That's cool. Never met a shaman before."

"Yeah, well I was thinking of getting spell scrolls for him and a magical
device."

Kenny laughs as Sean says that. They walk for a bit with Sleak following
behind them. "That would cost a lot Sean."

Sean grins and whispers in his ear, "Why do you think I didn't say we were
going to town and I only brought you."

Kenny grins and hands back Sean's dagger. Sean returns Kenny's
necklace. Kenny looks at Sean and says, "You knew I was a thief after
yesterday, but why didn't you say...." Kenny stops talking as he remembers
Sean's story.

Sean grins and says, "Well I thought you knew. And you really shouldn't
have stolen all my weapons yesterday."

Kenny shrugs and stays quiet as they approach the only magical shop in
Zanthing, which is closed. A sign is on the door which says 'Closed until
Kippering tenth.' Sean and Kenny look around and Kenny starts to pick the
lock while Sean watches for people. Sleak sniffs around also and looks at
Sean every once in awhile. Kenny opens the door after ten minutes and they
quickly enter. Kenny says "All the stuff out here is for show. I've already
taken something from here when it was open and the dagger I took
disappeared after 10 minutes."

Sean nods and starts looking behind the counter. "Did he do stuff with
purchases?"

"Yeah, she took 'em in back. Some boys bought something and she closed the
store for an hour while they were in back."

Sean smiles and then they both go through a door behind the counter. They
gasp as the light reflects off a huge amount of metal magical
items. Swords, daggers, staves, and armor are hung all over the shelves and
walls. Scrolls are on top of cabinets according to their types. Sean and
Kenny start to walk slowly around the room looking for any sort of
traps. They find a couple and deactivate them before taking some things for
themselves. Kenny grabs a couple mage scrolls and a staff. Sean pours over
all the druid goods and scrolls before stuffing them all away in a bag of
his. They both look over the shaman goods for Timmy and also some small
weapons for Matthew. They go to the entrance and look outside. "Wow, we
spent a lot of time in here Sean."

Sean nods as it gets darker out and they see rain falling. "So we're stuck
here unless we want to get wet."

"Yeah, lets find some food. I'm hungry."

Sean grins and pulls a scroll out. He recites the spell on the scroll and a
banquet of food, that he and Kenny like, appears. Kenny grins and grabs
some food before saying "That's a very definite reason to like druids. Food
out of thin air!"

Sean smiles and the both start eating the food. After both are done eating,
Sean stuffs some food into his bag. "Sean, how much room do you have it
that thing?"

"Well, I'm not sure. I picked it up awhile ago from a house at the
capitol. There's a lot of junk in it that I'm going to sell for money and
it keeps food fresh." Sean shoves more food into the bag.

Kenny shrugs and looks over a couple scrolls memorizing a couple spells to
keep ready for casting. Sean notices this and says, "So sorcerers can
memorize spells?"

"Yeah, and I can use all of most in a single day without tiring,
normally. Once I cast it once, then I have to use my own energy to cast it
again. But I don't get 'em back very fast."

"Ummmm."

"Look, a mage has to memorize spells from a book every single day, right?"

"Yeah, so do I if I want different spells."

"I only have access to the spells I have memorized, even if I have cast
them, I still can cast again but if I don't want to get tired, I only have
a certain number of levels I can cast each day."

"Like armor is a weak spell, and you could cast that 3 times for every
fireball?"

"Yeah, just I'd rather be a mage as the actually have access to even more
spells and are able to memorize more spells at once, PLUS they can use
what's in their book. I have to forget old spells to get new ones and can't
cast from a scroll."

"That's interesting, always wondered why mages are harder to be."

"Yep. Still rather be a mage. More spells a day and only get tired if cast
from a book, and can cast scrolls all day without tiring, though the
scrolls disappear."

"Yeah, but they lose all spells they didn't when they wake up....so if they
get attacked in the morning"

"SO? They can still cast from their book and get slowly tired, while I
would get tired faster from the same spells that they cast."

Sean nods and is surprised at all the knowledge Kenny has on magic. He
doesn't mention he never forgets spells as he casts them like normal druids
do, but still realizes mages are still more powerful having access to
better spells and creating their own sometimes. Sean asks, "What about
shamans?"

"I don't know how they work. Most are multiple classes, the only true
shaman I heard about was a prince from Mitakyu who disappeared."

Sean looks around and gets up saying "Lets sleep here. No where else to go
if we want to stay dry."

"OK, but you need to show me why Matthew couldn't stop talking about what
you did with him."

Sean grins and they head off to find a bedroom in the store.

---------

"Curse this rain!" Volmort yells as he steps onto the deck and gets
soaked. All around sailor are harnessing themselves to the ship to avoid
slipping off. A person up in the crow's nest stays up their even though his
shift is over, as she dreads the climb down in the rain. Zel walks around
making sure everyone is secured and grabs a couple people to keep them from
sliding over. Volmort curses again and pulls out his mage book. He flips
through the pages, which stay dry, until he finds the spell he is looking
for. He starts reading while the rest of the crew continue to buckle
down. After five minutes the rain starts hitting a bubble and avoids the
ship. The crew cheers but the notice the ship is slowing down. "Zel, get
your ass over here."

Zel hurries over and the two start reciting a different spell which Zel has
seen done but never has done himself. As they near the middle of the spell
the ship starts to speed up. After a total of ten minutes they finish and
the ship is back up to speed. Zel sits down while Volmort closes his
eyes. "That took a lot of my power, sir" Zel says.

"It took a lot of mine also. I'm just more powerful but I can't cast it
myself, and it's too long to memorize."

Zel nods and once he regains his strength, goes about getting the crew
ready. Volmort heads to his aft cabin and rests. Zel walks around as night
starts to fall. The lights comes on, dim as always, as he heads towards the
bow. Off in the distance a light appears, which moves off at an angle to
their course. Zel follows it with his eyes. After awhile it disappeared
into the distance and vanishes. The sailors around Zel are all quiet, the
only noise to be heard is the patter of rain on the little shield
above. Zel turns and goes below to his cabin leaving a small message for
the sailor to wake him at first light.

----------

"So fairies, what else is out there?" Jerry asks.

"Well, the town is unaware to the fact we are neat, and there's no
troops. On the other side of town from us is a small cabin. With fresh
tracks, and by the smell of 'em, the kids who made the tracks are trained,
and we could only tell that one is definitely a druid. The others are a
sorcerer, and two unknown types."

Alex stares at the fairies and just shakes his head giving up trying to
understand how they do everything. Jerry ponders the report and says, "We
move out two hours after sunup, which nowadays is two hours before
noon. Fairies, you take one squad to the cabin and capture those
kids. Alex, take half the troops to the east, and I'll take the rest in
from the west. We'll sweep in forcing the people towards the center of
town. I'll go after that magic shop and you take care of the inn."

"OK Jerry. How long we going to stay in the village?"

"Quick smash and grab, we should be gone no later than mid afternoon. Take
valuable and prisoners. I'm going to search the store for the item our king
wants."

Alex grins thinking of all the little girls and boys in the Inn. The
fairies nod and then swarm around the generals, sprinkling a little dust on
them. The generals nod in thanks. They then shake the dust off and appear
clean. The generals head to the camp to tell the commanders what is to
happen. The fairies huddle together and discuss their own plan to take the
cabin and the kids.

"Jerry?"

"Yeah Alex?"

"How much you know about fairies? You didn't seam that surprised with the
detail in their report."

"I know enough to only be surprised once a week. Also since I had worked
for the King..."

"You did?"

"Yep. Alongside those same fairies."

"Then, you guarded the prince."

Jerry nods and pauses before saying "Lets worry about this attack first. We
can talk afterwards."

Alex nods and the walk into the camp just as it starts to rain. They hurry
over to the commanders and help put up a tarp over the meeting area. After
the tarp is up, a fire is lit and all the commanders sit and discuss the
attack.

----------

Kenny and Sean stretch as they wake up together. "That was fun Sean."

Sean smiles and kisses Kenny on the lips. He then reaches into his bag and
pulls out some food. Kenny smiles and both sit to eat.

"When you want to go back?"

"How about noon? We can surprise them that way. Plus we can look at those
scrolls at items some more."

Sean nods as they sit close together looking over the scrolls. After a
couple hours they put the stuff down as the hear a noise outside. "What's
that?" they say at the same time. They go to a window and see some smoke
near the edge of the town. As they watch, they see soldiers start coming
into the town. Sean lets Sleak into the room and they all run upstairs to
watch out the upper windows and as the soldiers come closer, go back down
and hide behind the counter with the weapons ready.
