Mate

To say the least Mack was very uneasy about the three new
people in the house. His first question was how did they meet? He was only
gone for a couple of hours, and Callum had already invited three people
into their isolated home. The second thing that bothered him were their
eyes. They were an abnormal color, it almost looked like they were all
wearing special ordered contacts. The only person he had ever encountered
who has eyes like that was...Callum. To top it all off the blonde one made
him extremely uneasy, he stared at him like he was a piece of meat or
something. `Callum I told you to make friends, but damn you picked the
creepiest people in Lacey.' Mack thought as he put his ear buds in and
started to put up the groceries.

Brett quietly admired Mack from the kitchen door. It was taking
every ounce of will power to contain his wolf from taking his mate. He
watched as Mack struggled to put the cans on the top cabinet so he decided
to help. This turned out to be a he mistake, because as soon as he touch
Mack he let out a cry of surprise. Brett tried to pacify him, but Mack had
jumped away from him. Mack looked like a deer caught in head lights as he
trembled while maintaining what he thought would be a safe distance (not
knowing he was a lycanthrope) from Brett.

Before anything else could happen Lisa ran into the kitchen to help with
the situation. `Hey Mack maybe you should go get yourself together and we
could put up the groceries.' Mack nodded and headed up the stairs. Brett
gave a heavy sigh of disappointment for two reasons. One, because he'd
further pushed Mack away. Two, because of the shit that Lisa was about to
give him.

`Damn it Brett! Didn't I tell you to take it easy? He was
already nervous around you, because of how you're always staring at
him. Now you've damn near sent him into cardiac arrest!' she scolded. Brett
let out another sigh. He wasn't trying to make a pass at Mack, he just
wanted to help. As he started to think of what happened he became more and
more agitated. `I was only helping, but he blew it out of proportion. Even
if he was a little nervous he should still feel some attraction towards me,
but I feel nothing!' Brett whispered aggressively. Anyone who was chosen as
a mate by a lycanthrope automatically feel an attraction to the wolf that
choose them. Brett sensed no attraction whatsoever from Mack and it
infuriated him. Lisa shook her head sadly and gave him a hug.

All of the commotion in the kitchen awoke Callum and he
listened to the entire conversation while laying on Anthony's lap. He
looked up at Anthony questioningly. `I honestly don't understand what just
happened either. No one chosen as a mate has ever not shown at least a
little attraction to a lycanthrope.' Anthony said. This rejection of his
pack mate caused Anthony to demise Mack that much more. When Lisa and Brett
returned into the living the look on Brett's face almost broke Callum's
heart. He would have to talk to Mack later.

Anthony, Brett, and Lisa had to leave a little while
later. They had decided to help Callum with his upcoming transformation,
and to teach him how to stay in control of his wolf when he was around
Mack. Callum decided to go check on Mack after his pack had left. When he
arrived to his best friend's room he saw Mack laying down on his bed
slightly trembling. Without hesitation Callum immediately ran and comforted
him. They didn't move for the rest of the day, Callum just stayed in bed
comforting his friend.

The next day Callum left out while Mack was still asleep. He
met up with his pack to learn how to shift. When he arrived he received a
kiss on the cheek from Lisa and Brett virtually ignored him again. He
looked around, but didn't see Anthony anywhere and was disappointed. All of
a sudden something lunged out of the forest at him, before he knew what
happened he leaped into the air and came down in his wolf form. He turned
around prepared for a fight as all of the hairs on his body started to
stand and he turned to see who had tried to attack him. One look at his
attacker and he immediately calmed. Standing in front of him was a large
black wolf with extremely dark brown eyes. Anthony smiled and transformed
back into his human form.

`You're even more magnificent than I expected.' Anthony
cooed. He walked over to Callum and groomed him. Callum basically swooned
at the feel of Anthony's masculine hands on his body. He looked down at
Anthony and was shocked at how much taller he was in his wolf form. His
senses were heightened so much that it was borderline overwhelming. He
could see everything little detail of Anthony's body, and he could hear
Mack's soft snoring miles away at their home. The feeling of Anthony's
hands on him made him feel so good, and Anthony's smell. It was so intense
that Callum thought that he would faint from desire.

`He's bigger than I'd thought he would be.' Brett said with a
smirk. `Yeah he's even bigger than you Brett' Lisa giggled in which Brett
just snorted and rolled his eyes. `Actually he's almost as large as you
Anthony' Lisa exclaimed. Callum felt a great sense of pride after hearing
that and gave a cocky howl while staring at Anthony. Anthony accepted his
challenge and a staring contest ensued. Anthony did not even shift and held
Callum's gaze with ease, while Callum struggled not to look down. It took
every fiber of his being not to submit for as long as he did, but after
about a minute he dropped his gaze. Anthony rubbed his head and smiled
while Lisa was absolutely shocked.

`That's the longest anyone has ever challenged you Anthony, he
really is something special.' Brett once again gave a disinterested look.
Callum felt really bad for challenging his mate, but he didn't know how to
shift back. Anthony seemed to sense his need to change back. `Just think
about your human form.' Anthony said. Callum was able to change without a
problem, but he couldn't look Anthony in the eye. `I...I'm so sorry. I...I
didn't mean to. He said as a tear fell from his right eye. Anthony wrapped
his arms around Callum and kissed his forehead. `It's okay, every wolf
challenges an alpha after his first change. I would have been surprised if
you hadn't.' Anthony said while comforting Callum.

`Y...you're the alpha?' Callum asked. `No I'm AN alpha, no THE alpha.
We only had one alpha a while ago, but after he was murdered by one of our
own our system went into complete anarchy. Because I am the strongest of
our pack I am considered the alpha, but if our entire pack were to reunite
only the strongest wolf would be alpha and I would become beta again.'
Anthony explained. `There are three classes the alpha or in our case as of
now alphas. Next in line a betas, and last is gammas. If you are not ranked
you are usually a pup, or an exile. Then there is also Omegas, but they
travel alone. They normally don't live long, because we do better with
numbers.' Anthony continued.

Callum looked at him questioningly. `So was I considered an omega?' he
asked. `No you had not shifted yet so you were not classified. As of now
you are a pup. You have to work your way up the ranks.' Callum accepted
that for now, but he planned on ranking sometime soon. `So where are your
change of clothes?' Lisa asked. Callum could've cried at the thought of
that. He had forgotten that his clothes were ripped to shreds during his
change and his 6 inches of manhood were on display for everyone to see, and
he had no extra clothes.

The walk home was extremely awkward for Callum as he had to take the
trip home in his birthday suit. Even back in his human form his senses were
just as sharp as they had been when he shifted. They arrived to the house
to find that Mack was still asleep, so they quietly went to the viewing
room to watch a movie on the big screen television. Callum popped some
popcorn with extra butter and put the bowl on the table while he curled up
on Anthony's lap. All three lycanthropes looked from the popcorn to Callum
questioningly. Callum could actually laugh at the expression on their
faces, and how they tilted their head to the side simultaneously like
puppies.

`What is that?' Lisa asked curiously. Callum was shocked `You guys
don't know what popcorn is?' they all shook their head no. `The pack
dispersed when we were very young so we raised ourselves in the forest.
We've haven't had much human interaction in fifteen years. The only reason
that we contacted you was because you were a fellow Lycanthrope.' Callum
nodded as he registered all of this information. He decided that the next
time he went into town that he would take them with him.

They all heard Mack awaken and stumble his way towards the shower.
After he'd finished cleaning himself up he got dressed and went downstairs.
He heard the television on so he decided to go hangout with Callum. When he
walked in he was surprised to see the three people again. This time though
Brett treated him like everyone else and barely acknowledged him, and for
some reason he was sad about it. Callum sensed this and tried to cheer him
up.

`Hey buddy, how'd you sleep?' he asked. `Not bad, but my teddy bear left me
once again.' Mack fake pouted. Callum laughed. `Sorry, I had some business
to take care of.' Callum exclaimed. Anthony was not happy with this
information and started to tremble with rage. Callum leaned over and gave
his a kiss which seemed to calm him drastically, but shocked Mack.

`Oh! I'm sorry, I didn't know that you two were an item.' Mack said
blushing a bit. Lisa found Mack too cute so she walked over and placed a
gentle kiss on his cheek. Brett gave a warning growl that only the other
three lycanthropes could hear. Mack's eyes once again twinkled momentarily
after he received his kiss. Callum had seen this once before when he had
kissed Mack, but this time he felt an odd sensation and judging from the
looks of the other lycanthropes they felt it too. Mack smiled at Lisa and
told Callum that he was going into town for a little while.

Once Mack left all four lycanthropes stared at each other. Brett was the
first to speak. `What the hell was that?' he asked. The other three
lycanthropes could not give an exact answer. `I don't know what that was,
do you think that he may be a werewolf?' Callum asked. Anthony shook his
head. `No werewolves smell fairly similar to us so we would've smelled it
on him.' Callum didn't know what to say so he asked `are there any other
creatures that I should know about?' Brett glared at him.

`We are not creatures, we are animals you fool! And yes there are quite
a few beings that humans have slightly touched upon. There are
lycanthropes, werewolves, vampires, witches and wiccans, and elves.' Callum
took the insult in stride and asked `Does he fit any of those?' Anthony
finally stopped glaring at Brett and answered Callum's question. `No his
ears aren't pointed so he's no elf, the sun doesn't fry him so he's no
vampire, I smell no magic on him so he's no wiccan, and we've already
established that he's noon werewolf or lycanthrope.'

Callum was confused. In discovering that he was a lycanthrope he spent
so much time trying to hide it from Mack that he never once consider that
Mack was different as well. `Do you think that we should tell him what we
are?' he asked. Anthony shook his head no. `He may not know that he's not
human so we'd scare him. If we were to inform him on what we were he would
have to learn indirectly. He'd have to get to know our wolves without
knowing who we were to help stop the shock effect. You accepted it because
you were one of us, but he isn't.' The four lycanthropes were at a loss as
to what to do about Mack, but they knew one thing and one thing only. Mack
was definitely not human.
