   "If  we  bury it and don't leave tracks, it will be  centuries
or longer before they discover it, if they ever do."

our  building. It will transmit the signal to the moon which will

   "We will have Internet service?"

   "I will actually have a use for my laptop!" Peabody said.

and put them on the table.

   "John Drake, here."
   Ban  said,  "John,  we  need seven top  of  the  line  Windows
notebooks  with  large  solid state  drives  and  seventeen  inch

   "I  think it will be a good place for the kids, too,"  Peabody

picked  up the FTL device and opened the shuttle door. He  walked
down  a ramp and Peabody followed him. Lan looked around and then
pointed. He walked to where he had pointed and Peabody followed.
   Lin  bent over and pushed his hand against the ground. Peabody
saw  the  soil break up somewhat. Lan cleared an area about  four
inches and hit rock. He moved down a few feet and tried it again.
The  ground was rock there. He walked back in the direction  they
came and tried a different spot. It was rocky too.
   They  needed a stick, Peabody thought. He doubted  there  were
many on the moon.
   Lan  tried  a different spot and had more luck. He cleared  an
area  about  a foot deep. Then he placed the transmitter  in  the
hole. He brushed the soil back over it until it was covered.
   He  turned  to  Peabody  and pointed at the  shuttle.  Peabody
turned  around and walked over to it. A year ago, he  would  have

   "Yes.  Here are the addresses. The limo driver already  knows.
John told me to tell you the computers you ordered should be here
around 11:00."

   "I was wondering if the low gravity would bother him."

   "Will  you  have  someone  hook  this  up  to  the  building's

   "How about four."
   "Abbott,  will you ask John to get us four male squirrels  for
the park?"

want those."
   "Very well. I will tell him," Abbott said.
   "Good bye, Abbott."

Peabody was easier to hate. But he knew it was over with Lan.  If

of each."

many because they had to fit in the limo.

   "Well, this is everything, I think."

   "Yeah. I hope at least some do well."

with tortoises.
   He  decided  to  wait  until  he  could  do  research  on  the
Internet.
   After Peabody left, Lan closed his eyes.

   Peabody  said,  "I don't have any money. Do you accept  credit

   "I'll  give you to the count of ten to give me money.  Peabody
looked terrified.
   "One."
   "Two."
   "Three."

   "If  he decides it will be better for us to have twice as many

good  of  the colony. Then we would probably fight each other  to
keep Peabody. We would end up as two families with a grudge. Does
anyone recall why we are here in the first place?"
   "Aradin."
   "Exactly. We have a very happy home. Let's keep it that  way,"
Ban said.
   Lin  sighed and said, "As far as a clone, right now, there  is
no way to clone Peabody. We would need to have a place to gestate
the  clone. Peabody could not gestate a human. He has no uterus,"
Lin said.
   "We  could hire a human to do that. They do things like  that,
don't they?" Fon asked Lin.
   "Surrogate mothers is what they call them," Lin said. "But  we
need to find out if Peabody can carry the young to term.
   "Also,  if  we clone Peabody, do we create a human child  with
all  Peabody's medical problems? Give him only one faulty  kidney
and his other conditions?" Lin asked.
   "That is a very good question," Ban said. "It does seem to  be
ethically questionable since we could correct those things."
   "But  if  we  correct them, he can't carry  our  offspring.  I
personally have no wish to deliberately create a sick child,  and
that is what an unmodified clone would be."
   They  thought  about that for a while. Lin looked  around  and
could see they agreed.
   "Lin,  didn't  you  say once that Peabody  would  be  able  to
gestate a clone of Aracatal?" Fon asked.
   "Yes.  Our children with Peabody will need their own  host.  I

   Lan  guided  the  shuttle  to  the  first  airlock.  This  was

is nothing in front us."
   "Except that door," he said as they approached one.
   "Ignore  that door on the floor." Peabody chuckled.  The  door
opened  automatically when they were close to it. They entered  a

   "Will this tunnel take us to the park?"
   "No. It's a connecting tunnel to the tunnel that leads to  the

   "It  would be fun to have dinner tonight at the house. Do  you

   "Maybe  we  can  all  fit around the outdoor  table,"  Peabody
