                           Twenty-One

They had finished, and Lan was cleaning up when Abbott walked
into the cabin. Peabody was very alarmed. Abbott's skin color was
bad. It had a grayish tinge to it. Peabody thought he looked like
he was dying. He'd seen people in hospice who looked like that.

"How do you feel?" Peabody asked.

   Abbott glared at him.

"Please, not you, too, Peabody! Ban and Fon ask every two or
three minutes." Abbott looked like shit! Peabody could definitely
understand why they were asking.

"I don't want to anger you, but you look very ill, Abbott,"
Peabody said.

Abbott sighed. "I stopped looking in the mirror, Peabody.
It's depressing. I don't feel so bad that I want to lose the
baby." He smiled, weakly. "Do you know how many times I had to
get fucked before I got pregnant?"

Peabody laughed. "Come to think of it, it took hundreds and
hundreds of times for me."

   "Do you want anything? Water?"

"No." Abbott sat on the sofa.

   "Have you been throwing up?"

   "No, but I haven't eaten."

Peabody didn't know what to say. He had a feeling Abbott
didn't want his opinion.

Then Abbott surprised him by asking for it. "What do you
think I should do?"

Peabody thought about it a while.

"I think part of the problem is you suddenly have very
different blood chemistry. My levels of a lot of the chemicals
the babies need rose slowly for years. My body had time to
adjust. Yours didn't."

"I see what you mean. I didn't think of that." Abbott sighed.

"Maybe you should try to see if you can tolerate lower levels
for a few days."

"Lin said he was only putting in the minimum necessary
amounts. If he lowered them, I guess the baby would get sick or
even die," Abbott said.

"You could let this one die and then try to gradually
increase the levels. If your body adjusts, you could then have
one of Ban's or Fon's kids."

"I know they would like it."

Lan sat on Peabody's other side.

"I agree with Peabody, Abbott. You should not be having my
baby. You should be having Ban's or Pon's. You are their host. It
makes sense to find out if you can handle tolerate the chemicals
before you get pregnant."

   Lin walked into the cabin.

"Lin, I know humans sometimes get implants that release drugs
or hormones slowly into their systems. Is it not possible to put
some sort of implant that would release calcium and phosphorus
right next to the baby?"

"No, Peabody. It would block the artery. In any case, the
blood is moving fast. If it was moving very slowly, and the
implant was very, very small, it might work."

"But the baby is outside the artery, not inside. Couldn't the
implant be placed on the outside, next to the baby?"

"It wouldn't do any good. The baby feeds from the artery. The
membrane containing the baby could be coated with calcium, but it
wouldn't absorb any of it."

"Peabody suggested slowly raising the levels of the
chemicals. I could always try to get pregnant again, if I can
tolerate them. He pointed out that he adjusted slowly to the high
levels," Abbott said.

"It's very possible. It would be safer than this. Do you
think you want to try that?"

   "Could I stay on Mars?"

"Yes. You would have to. What Earth doctor is going to agree
to make you sick? We wouldn't be able to tell them why."

   Abbott sat and thought.

Peabody leaned his head against Lan. Lan wrapped his arm
around him.

"I think I will wait until tomorrow night. If I don't feel
any better, we will try that," Abbott said.

   Lin nodded.

"Do you want to lie down?" Peabody asked. "Or we could go
watch a movie."

"That sounds like a great idea." Abbott said.

"Do you want to do that instead of going to Earth?" Lan
asked.

"Were you ready to leave?" Peabody asked him.

"I suppose it could wait. I will help with the other cabin."

   "Thank you."

Peabody turned around and kissed Lan. Afterward, he stroked
Lan's cheek.

   "I love you."

   "I love you, too."

"Lin, I would feel better if you came with us to the movie
theater. If Abbott starts feeling worse, I will be clueless,"
Peabody said.

   "That's fine."

Lan walked outside. He was leaving Peabody with Lin again. He
could feel where Peabody stroked his cheek, though. And he didn't
worry.

"Are you ready?" Peabody asked Abbott.

   "Sure."

Abbott got up and the three of them left the park. They left
the dogs there. They saw Tina chasing Oscar as they left. Peabody
and Abbott took the car and Lin followed on a bike.

   They walked to the theater.

Peabody let Abbott choose the movie. Abbott chose Robinson
Crusoe on Mars. They both enjoyed it.

Peabody held Lin's hand while Lin's third arm was around his
shoulders. Peabody thought it felt very, very nice.

"I wonder why they didn't have sex," Peabody said, as they
headed back to the park.

"I'm sure they cut all the sex scenes to get a G rating,"
Abbott said. They both laughed.

The new cabin was assembled when they got back.

"We still have to connect plumbing and cooling," Ban told
them. "But we can sleep in it tonight, Abbott."

   "That's great, Ban."

"Peabody and Abbott, both cabins are now pressurized. In case
of air loss in the cavern, head for a cabin. It is unlikely there
would be a catastrophic air loss in the cavern, but in a quake,
there could be some air loss. We are surrounded by rock, except
for the entrance and one cavern which connects to this one near
the entrance. That connection has been reinforced and the door to
the cavern has an automatic seal. There are also suits along the
walls of the cavern."

   "Thank you, Ban," Peabody said.

Peabody could see how upset Ban was by Abbott's appearance.
He felt sorry for them, but he didn't want to force a decision on
Abbott, even if he was willing to go along.

"Lin, can I speak to you?" Ban asked as he and Lin went into
the cabin. There are also emergency suits on the

"I'm sure he is asking Lin how I am," Abbott said. "I got mad
the last time he asked me."

"Being cranky when you feel bad is a basic human right,"
Peabody said.

Abbott hugged him. "Thank you, Peabody."

"It's all right. We are a family, right?"

"Absolutely. I think I am going to go lie down."

"We will be picking up the furniture for your cabin on this
trip, Abbott," Lan told him.

   "Great."

Abbott walked over to Peabody's cabin and went inside.

"Are you ready, beautiful?" Lan asked.

   "I am!"

On the way to Earth, Peabody sat on Lan's lap, facing him
while they kissed. He felt Lan's cock stiffen underneath him.

"Do you know, I was just wishing you had an erection!"

   "Were you, beautiful?"

"Yes! I think your penis is telepathic, as well as lovely."
They both laughed. "And big."

   "Don't forget that!"

   "Oh, never!"

Peabody stroked Lan's cheek. Then he rubbed his cheek against
Lan's.

   "I love you, Lan."

Lan smiled at Peabody as he lifted himself up and reached
under him for Lan's erection. He lowered himself on it. Lan
pulled his mouth to his and kissed Peabody as he entered him.
When he was completely inside Peabody, Lan stood and bounced
Peabody on his cock. They stopped several times to kiss when Lan
was approaching his orgasm.

"I love space travel!" Peabody said.

   "Do you?"

"Oh, yes! You can't do this in a car! You'd have a wreck!"
They both laughed.

Finally, Lan allowed himself to come inside his love. He
kissed him as he shot his egg and sperm into his host.

His cock softened and slipped out of Peabody as they
approached Earth. They both sighed happily at the same time and
laughed.

   "I am so lucky, beautiful."

"I'm luckier. I have you." And Lin, and Mun, and Pon, Peabody
thought. He was very happy.

Lan landed the shuttle and helped his employees load the
things into the shuttle. There was the new vehicle, more bikes,
furniture for Abbott's cabin, fixtures for the bathhouse, a
Jacuzzi, and lots and lots of plants. Peabody wanted to help, so
Lan let him carry a stack of eight hand towels.

"Oh, I'm so tired. These must weigh a whole pound!" Peabody
said.

"I told you that you shouldn't help!" Lan said to him.

   "I was kidding, Lan!"

   "Oh."

They got everything loaded and head back to Mars. Peabody sat
on Lan's lap and they kissed most of the way.

"If Abbott loses the baby, he is going to be very depressed,"
Peabody said.

   "Yes, I guess he will."

"Do you think we could go to Jupiter to cheer him up?" he
asked Lan.

"I wanted to take you. Just the two of us. I thought we would
have a picnic on Ganymede," Lan said.

"I've never done that," Peabody said with a straight face.

"You haven't? Then we really should go!"

"Do you think there will be ants there? There are ants on
Mars now."

   "Are there?"

"I don't know if they will live long. I think they need a
queen or at least a princess."

   "Why?"

"They live in colonies and only the queen has babies. Lots of
Earth insects are like that."

"Abbott told me he was a queen," Lan said.

Peabody laughed for a long time.

"I really hope he loses the baby," Lan said, surprising
Peabody. Lan had said earlier that Abbott should be having Ban's
or Fon's child, not his. Peabody thought that must be why he said
it.

"Is it because he isn't your host?"

"Yes. Once the baby is born, I will be spending a lot of my
time with Abbott. Time I should be spending with you and our
baby."

Peabody hadn't thought of that. It was a complicated
situation. He thought for a while.

"Tell Abbott you don't want him to have your baby. Explain
why, Lan. It will probably be better for his health adjusting
slowly to the necessary chemicals. It's starting to sound like a
very bad idea for several reasons. I want you with me, not with
Abbott."

   "Comm. Get Lin," Lan said.

   "This is Lin."

   "How is Abbott?"

"Not well. I am with him now."

   "Is he awake?"

   "Yes."

"Abbott, I know you want the baby, but it is best that you
not have this one. That you not have mine. If you are able to
host one, you should have Ban's or Fon's. When you have my baby,
I will be spending a lot of time with you and they may resent it.
It will also keep me from my baby with Peabody and Peabody won't
like it."

Abbott sighed loud enough for them all to hear.

"Go ahead and terminate it, Lin."

Peabody smiled at Lan, who was obviously relieved.

"I think you are doing the right thing, Abbott," Lin said.

"I think I need to let my body adjust slowly and I don't want
Ban or Fon to be unhappy," Abbott said.

   "Abbott, this is Peabody."

   "Hello, Peabody."

"I really think this is best for a lot of reasons. You can
stay on Mars, and you can have a baby that Ban and Fon will be
completely happy about."

"I agree," Abbott said. "I had just about decided to
terminate it, anyway."

"We will see you soon. End comm," Peabody said.

   Lan looked very happy.

When they arrived at Mars, the brothers were all gathered to
help take everything to the park. Peabody was surprised to see
Lin there.

   "Is Abbott all right?"

"Oh, yes. I performed dialysis and thirty minutes later, he
felt fine. He wasn't sick. He was being poisoned."

   Peabody realized that was true.

They got most of the things on lifters. Peabody drove the new
electric cart to the park. It was spacious. He thought it looked
like a golf cart with a truck bed at the back.

Abbott waved from the park entrance as they pulled up to it.

Peabody parked and walked over to him.

"You look better," he said to Abbott.

"I feel better. Lin is going to wait a week before he begins
giving me the supplements." Peabody nodded.

"How did Ban and Fon take it?" Peabody asked.

"They were very happy. Relieved, I would say."

The Alaphin got everything into the park. Pon decided to wait
before planting anything. The cabin was completed and they got
the furniture in it.

Peabody saw Ban speaking to Lan. They seemed to be having a
disagreement. Peabody walked over to them. They looked at him and
stopped talking.

   "What's up?"

   "Nothing," Lan said.

"Peabody, I do not know how to cook. I asked Lan to cook for
Abbott when he makes your meals," Ban said.

"You can learn how to cook. You are a genius. At least that
is what you claim regularly enough," Lan said.

At first, Peabody didn't think he should get involved. Then
he thought of something.

"Ban, do you really want Abbott to be grateful to Lan all the
time? Three times a day?"

"Hmm. I hadn't thought of that."

Peabody walked over to Mun. Mun smiled at him and pulled him
into his arms.

"I missed you, my love," Mun told him.

"I missed you," Peabody said. At first he thought he was
telling a white lie, but he realized he was very glad to be in
Mun's arms. He pressed his face to Mun's chest and sniffed him.
Mun smelled wonderful. Maybe it was the truth.

They wrapped their arms around each other and kissed.

Peabody then walked to Pon and hugged him. They kissed.

He walked up to Lin who put an arm around him.

"Will I be sleeping with you tonight?"

"Oh, yes! With your erection, I hope!" Peabody said.

"I can't seem to keep one of those. Every time you see it, it
disappears," Lin said.

   "And you don't like that?"

Lin laughed. "I love it. I love you."

Peabody rested his head on Lin until Oscar tried to get his
attention. He squatted and petted Oscar. Tina ran up and he
petted her, too.

He went into the house and decided to login to his email
account. He hadn't done that since the day he came to Mars. He
had an email from a friend who had worked with him a few years
earlier. He sent her a reply and apologized for not responding
sooner. He told her he was fine and had moved. He looked at the
rest of his email and began to get sad when he realized that was
the only personal email he had received. Of course, he had
stopped responding to friends long before he left Earth, so he
had only himself to blame. But he really had everything he needed
on Mars. It was just as well.

He leaned back on the sofa and fell asleep. He woke when Lan
was putting him in bed. Lan laughed when Peabody looked at his
crotch.

"Lin told me he couldn't keep an erection. They kept
disappearing the minute they appeared," Peabody said.

"You do seem to like them."

   "I do!

"Is Ban cooking?" Peabody asked him.

   "No. Fon is."

   "Ban is letting him?"

"It is odd. Ban is very competitive. I think he is afraid he
will make Abbott sick and he doesn't want to take a chance. He
will let Fon make him sick."

   Peabody laughed.

"I feel rested." He sat up. "How is the other cabin coming?"

"It's all done, except for cooling it. Ban is working on that
right now. Are you hungry?"

   "Yes, I am, a little."

Peabody got up and they walked out of the bedroom.

Peabody wondered about the food arrangement.

"What are you thinking? You are frowning," Lan said.

"The whole cooking thing. Are we one family or two? This is
all new to me. Should we all eat together? That's how most humans
think it should be. Did you all eat at the same time before?"

"No. We each ate when we were hungry. Of course, on Tarsina,
things were different," Lan said.

"How would you like things to be, Lan? Should Mun and Pon eat
with us?"

"I like things as they've been, but that doesn't mean they
need to stay that way. It is your decision."

"Maybe we could have one meal a day together. But you would
get stuck with cooking it."

"I don't mind, as long as they eat what I am making you."

"Let's do that, then. Which meal would you prefer? It doesn't
matter to me?"

   "I suppose supper."

   "That will be nice."

"Why don't we have steaks? I will let Fon and Mun know."

   "That sounds great."

Lin sat down next to Peabody. Peabody leaned against him.

   "How do you feel?"

"Fine. How is Abbott dealing with it? Is he depressed?"

"I think he is too relieved at not being sick. His big fear
seemed to be leaving. He wants to stay badly."

   "Yes, he told me."

"How do you feel about Abbott, Peabody? Do you wish he wasn't
here, but you think we need him? Do you like him? Are you glad
another human is here? All of us are wondering, including Abbott,
Ban, and Fon."

Peabody thought for a moment. "I guess I have slightly mixed
feelings. I miss Ban and Fon, but I am relieved not to feel I am
neglecting them. I like Abbott, although I don't know him. I
worry that we won't get along. I think we need more than one
host, and he is certainly not the worst person we could have
gotten."

   "No."

"I suppose there are pros and cons and the pros definitely
outweigh the cons. What about Ban and Fon? Do they have regrets?"

"No. They love Abbott. Ban feels we were lucky to find
Abbott, who is willing to become seriously ill just to help us."

"Well, it isn't just to help you. He is getting two wonderful
people as lovers."

   Lin pulled him close.

All eight of them ended up eating dinner together.
Afterwards, they sat outside and watched the sunset. Abbott shook
his head when he saw the red tint of the ceiling.

"This park is so magnificent," he said.

   Peabody nodded. It really was.

Abbott was tired, so he Ban and Fon went into their cabin.

Peabody and his mates stayed outside.

"I really hope Abbott can carry a baby. I know how badly he
wants it," Peabody said.

"Well, determination can only help," Lin said.

   They nodded.

Mun smiled as he developed an erection.

   "Look!"

"Oh, my! What a beautiful sight!" Peabody said.

   Peabody walked over to him.

"I was just thinking about your pretty erection. Maybe it's
telepathic!"

   They all laughed.

Mun took Peabody in his arms.

"I am going to really miss it, if and when you stop getting
two erections a day. I am going to enjoy them while they last!"

   Mun kissed him.

"Lin accused me of stealing his erections," Peabody said.

   Lin laughed. "I did not!"

"You said I made them disappear so quickly!"

"It was not a complaint! I'm glad you make mine disappear!"

Peabody hugged Lin. "I love you!"

   "I love you, too."

"Mun, would you like to keep that one, or lose it
immediately."

   Mun grinned, showing his teeth.

"Why don't we use the swing?"

   "It sounds wonderful!"

Peabody used the bidet in the cabin's bathroom and then
climbed into the swing. He raised himself up and Mun sighed as he
pushed inside. He began fucking him while the others watched. Lin
had an erection, but Peabody planned to have Lin fuck him when
they went to bed.

   "Oh!" Pon said.

Peabody grinned when he saw Pon slowly grow erect.

"Which end do you want, Pon?" Peabody asked.

   "I don't know. I like them both!"

"I wouldn't mind having a little candy," Peabody said,
grinning.

"I've got the candy you want, my love."

Peabody tilted his head back and opened his mouth as Pon
entered him. It was wonderful having both of them inside, at
first. Then keeping his mouth stretched around Pon's big dick
started to get a little difficult. As if reading his mind, Pon
groaned and Peabody tasted his sweet semen. His cock softened
immediately. He stepped away and Peabody smiled at Mun.

"It feels wonderful, my love!" Mun said.

   "I agree!"

"If I can carry both of the babies I have now, I want to
carry yours and Pon's at the same time, next."

Mun smiled and then groaned as he gave his host his egg.

He slipped out of Peabody and then tilted the swing so that
Peabody was on his feet. He took Peabody in his arms and kissed
him.

"Thank you, Peabody. I love you."

   "I love you, Mun."

Peabody reached out to Pon who moved to him. They kissed, as
well.

"I love you so much, Peabody!"

   "I love you, Pon."

"We will see you in the morning, my love," Mun said.

   He and Pon left.

   Lin was shaking his head.

   "What?"

"You are really a very good host. Not just good for a human.
You would be a good Alaphin host. Sometimes I am just amazed by
you, my love."

Peabody hugged him and they kissed.

Lin fucked Peabody before they went to sleep.

Peabody was glad to have Lin in bed with him again. It was
just so much cozier being between the two of them. He decided he
would sleep with both of them every night, again. He thought Lan
would be disappointed, but Peabody would just try to make it up
to him some other way.

He fell asleep very, very happy.

The next morning, after breakfast, Lin went to check on
Abbott.

"Lan, I liked sleeping with both of you better than sleeping
with just you."

   "Oh."

"I know you are disappointed. I still love you most, I just
sleep better between the two of you. All that soft fur just feels
wonderful."

"I understand. You were cold the night before last. I felt
you shivering and covered you with the blanket."

   "I was."

"Beautiful, don't worry about it. After all, you are doing it
because it is more comfortable. I can't really feel good about
you being uncomfortable to make me happier. I love you and you
love me."

"I do love you so much."

   Lan smiled. "That's enough."
