                         Chapter Twelve

  The  next  morning,  Rince joined Hephin  and  Alephin  in  the
kitchen. Hephin was making breakfast for Elepan.
  "Do you want eggs, Dad?"
  "No, just coffee."

  "Hephin,  I  was speaking to Alephin about your  lust,"  Elepan
said.

  "Alephin  is  going to assign guards to the two of  us.  He  is
concerned  that desperate wolves from other packs  might  try  to
kidnap one of us to give them pups," Rince said.
  "Oh.  I  didn't think about that, but I can see how they  might
be willing to do anything."
  Hephin  remembered  what Delwith had been willing  to  do,  and

  "If  sex  with the three of us is not enough, then one or  both

  Alephin walked into the nursery.
  "Dregor!"
  Dregor  handed  Elephin  back to Elepan.  Then  he  hugged  his

  "Elepan, have you told him yet about Rince and Hephin."
  "Yes, Alephin."
  "Dregor,  Hephin  is almost certainly pregnant with  Melforth's
child."
  "I thought he was your mate, Elepan."
  "He  is Elepan's mate. He is also Rince's son, my grandson,  an
alpha, and the second most important person in the pack."

supposed he understood why Alaphin thought that.

to have them on their own. Once Melforth's baby is born, Melforth
and Erelda will raise it as theirs."
  "How is this possible?"

  "What will you do if they offer a great deal?" Dregor asked.
  "I  haven't decided. If one of them offers a billion dollars or

would let Hephin or Rince decide."

Anyway,  as  I  said, you and Max will be personal bodyguards.  I
will have other guards watching the house and them, when they are
outside."
  Hephin and Elepan joined them
  "I  was  just  telling  Dregor that he will  be  your  personal
bodyguard, Hephin."
  "Oh."
  "He  will need to stay close to you most of the time.  I  think
you  are  a more likely target than Rince, since he is an  alpha-
mate.  However,  everyone in our family is  a  potential  target.
Someone might, for instance, kidnap Elepan to get you or Rince to
agree to give them a pup."
  "Dregor  you  can  have sex with Hephin, if you  want,"  Elepan
said.
  Dregor's eyes widened. "You are joking!"

well."
  "I don't know what to say!" Dregor said.
  "Say you are glad to be a member of my family," Alephin said.

  "I  love  you,  too.  Welcome! And  Elepan  was  serious  about
Hephin. He already thought of you as family, didn't you, Elepan."
