Son of a Wolf

-Moving On-

"A happy life is one which is in accordance with its own nature"
							-Seneca

I contemplated that quote in the car while looking out of the window at all
the trees that we passed on the way to my new 'home'. My life, what I know
of it, is now in no way in a nature of which I am accustomed to.

An hour ago:

"You know, I don't need you dogging my every step."

Tim seemed to not take notice I was even talking to him as he looked around
my room and took in all he saw. He really does act like a dog. As I started
grabbing my clothes from the closet, Tim started looking at the photos on
my desk. I didn't mind him doing that until he picked one of them up and I
realized which one it was.

"PUT THAT DOWN! Never touch my picture! EVER!!!!!" I yelled at him. Not
caring who heared or how he felt about it.

"I...I'm s...I'm sor..." Tim started.

"Just, just get out. Now!"

*knock knock*

"Honey? Is everything ok? We all heard yelling downstairs."

"Mom. Why? Just tell me why?" I pleaded. I was begining to cry again.

"Tim, if you'll excuse us for a moment?" she stated while calmly walking
towards my bed to sit down.

As Tim left and closed the door, I ran to my mother and cried. Wondering
why after all this time with it being just us, why she would send me away?
Why would she lie about my father? And why my life is slipping from my
control? I was confused and felt alone. I needed, and wanted, answers; and
I wanted them now.

"Alex. About your father. He loves you very much. That has never changed
since you were born."

"Then why did he leave us? And why would you tell me he was dead?"

"He never did it willingly. He did it so that we could be happy. And I told
you he was dead so I could avoid having to explain about things that I
still am unsure about myself. For all of the pain you are feeling, try and
understand that I never wanted you to go through this."

"Yet here we are." I shook my head, trying to clear my anger and hatred
out. "I'm sorry. I know you love me, but I wish you would've told me all of
this when I was younger. And what do you mean you don't understand some of
the reasons yourself?"

"Just as it sounds. I was told it would be unsafe and and damn near
impossible for you to be born. Especially around the people that live in
that make-shift town of his."

"Then why are you so willing to send me there?"

"Because you are older now; and also because your father now thinks it's
time you took your place among the people there. Whatever that means. Haha"

*cough*cough*

"Excuse me madam." Tim stated.

"Yes?"

"Time is of the essence and it is imperative that we make our flight on
time."

"Yes; of course." She said. "Finish packing and I'll see you downstairs"

I nodded my head in agreement. As she left I continued packing my clothes
and other belongings that might be needed for the forced move I was having
to endure. While packing I noticed that Tim never once stepped foot into
the room. I felt horrible at how I reacted to him now.

"Listen. I'm sorry about blowing up at you earlier. Its just that the
picture that you had was the only picture of my dead grandmother, and I
hold it very dear to my heart."

"You are a very sensitive person to be the son of my lord. But you do not
need to apologize at all. It is my fault to tampering with your things. I
am sorry."

I was lost for words. I was unsure if he was apologizing or mocking me to
my face. Either way, he looked... cute trying to convey his feelings.

"Since you insist on being here you might as well help take these down for
me." I told him after I was finished packing.

"It would be my pleasure, sir." He stated smuggly as he hoisted the bags
under his arms all by himself.

As we descended the staircase I saw my mother and Christoff standing by the
door. I looked around for the other two that were here just a while ago as
well with no luck.

As if he read my mind Christoff stated, "they are out at the car ready to
leave." He then turned to Tim and said "Bring the bags to the car. It was
good to see you once again Tamia. I hope that it will not be our last."

"Only time will tell. So long Chris. I hope, for your sake, that you take
care of Alex. I would hate to think he will be put in a situation of
danger." My mom said with a tone of warning and anger. "And as for you,"
she said looking at me, "take care of yourself and call me every day, and
make friends and don't do something that you wouldn't do here,
and... and..." she all but started crying her eyes out and hugged me for
all she was worth.

"I will mom. And don't worry. I'll do my best to call you and be good." I
told her. Trying not to seem too heartbroken for both our sakes.

Christoff and I walked out the house to the car. Just as I was about to get
in, I took one more look back at my mom; back at the place, that for a
brief moment in time, had been a refuge and place I could call home. Not
sure if I would ever see it ever again. I waved once more to my mother and
sat in the car.

Back to the present

"You don't have to look so depressed, Alexander. You should be excited to
be joining me at my estate." Stated Christoff.

I looked at him with disgust and anger and stated with as much contempt as
I could muster, "I didn't ask, nor have I ever wished to go anywhere with
you. I was happy at home here in New York, with just mother and I. Why have
you come? To disrupt my life for the simple notion of relieving you guilt
of abandoning your wife and child?!?!?!"

"One: your mother and I were never married. Two: you are my child, and as
such, you will respect me and never talk to me like this again. And I came
to get you because there are things in your life you need to know and you
will not learn them with your mother. Now, we will be flying to the city of
Geraldine, Montana. That is where our people reside and that is where you
will be explained about our...history."

About ten minutes later we arrived at the airport and boarded the plane. It
took me a while to take in that while I knew first class was expensive, we
were the only five in this part of the plane and my father was seated by
himself sleeping. I sat next to Spence, while Rick and Tim sat off to
either side of the plane and slept.

"You don't too much like the master do you?" Spence asked out of no where.

"I barely know him at all." I said in honesty.

"That's not what I asked. But to be fair, he is a decent and great
man. Many respect and look up to him."

"Including yourself I take it?" I asked. Not sure why, but it seemed to
upset me how much everyone else knew my father but me.

"Yes, even I. But I look to the master for guidence and stability."

"Why do you call him master? Are you a servant by any chance?" I
asked. Maybe a little too coldly.

Looking away he answered, "No, but what we usually call him I have yet to
get permission to call him. Not even his name."

"And why is that? And what do you all call him?" Now my curiousity was
peaked and I wanted to know more.

"Well, I've just been let into the pa...."

"If you let another word slip from your mouth, I can guarantee you, you'll
never speak a word again and you might just die." We looked up to see the
speaker was my father. He looked pissed at Spence and motioned for him to
move else where in our part of the plane.

After he left, I look towards where Spence sat and mouthed an apology. We
soon would be landing in Montana after two hours of flying. After we set
down in the airport in the town of Geraldine, I'll have to start all over
again. But at least I feel that Spence might just aid my quest to entertain
my stagnent moments and keep me from being lonely.

For that I'll have to see.

To be continued....
