"Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust
upon them."
~ William Shakespeare

Everyone was still in shock at the sight of Mat. It was impossible to
believe that he was really alive, especially when they saw him get hit by
enough lightening to power a small country for a month. Devlin and Matt
were completely oblivious to the rest of the group. The kiss they shared
started out as an expression of relief, but it quickly turned into one of
passion. The kiss was interrupted, though, as their friends surrounded
them. Everyone was talking at once.
Mat saw the confusion on everyone's face, and couldn't help the laughter
that bubbled up within him. He wasn't laughing at them, not in the least.
Mat was just overjoyed to be alive. He had a feeling that Devlin might have
been the key; especially after that kiss Devlin gave him right before he
almost died last night. Mat had sensed something building inside of him.
At first, he thought that it was something sinister. When he got back from
talking with Gaia though, Mat realized that he was wrong. He would have
sensed the evil as soon as it entered his body. The fifth power must have
started to unlock when Devlin kissed him. It sensed the love that Devlin
had for him.
"I can't believe that Devlin was the key." Kristen said. "This whole time
the answer was right under our noses, and we never knew it."
"If I knew he was the key I would have killed him a long time ago. Though I
guess killing him now won't make a difference."
At the sound of the second voice everyone's heads turned in shock.
Gabrielle stood before them; the piece of glass Mat killed her with was
still protruding from her body. Her eyes had turned completely black. A
cold wind blew through the room.

"Don't look so surprised. Morpheus doesn't allow his servants to go into
battle unarmed. It's going to take a lot more than glass to kill me."
Gabrielle said. She waved her hand and the glass was pulled out of her
body. "Too bad I can't say the same for all of you."
She waved her hand again, and the glass shot towards the group at an inhuman
speed. The glass stopped a fraction of an inch in front of Galen's face.
Anyone one of them could have stopped it because the group was focused on
the glass, everyone except for Devlin. Gabrielle's screams filled the room
as she was thrown into the wall.
"You are going to pay for what you did!" Devlin roared. "You tried to kill
Mat, and for that you will die."
Gabrielle's body was lift off of the ground and slammed into the wall again.
This time, however, her body stuck to the wall. She shocked them all as
laughter bubbled from her throat.
"You foolish, foolish man." She said.
Devlin's body flew backwards against the opposite wall. His body was lifted
ten feet off of the ground. Devlin clutched at his neck; his eyes bulged.
It was obvious that Gabrielle was choking him. Mat reached out with his
mind. He wasn't sure what he was doing. His body was practically working
on autopilot. Once Mat's energy got close enough he wrapped it around
Gabrielle. Devlin suddenly dropped towards the ground. Kristen stopped his
body right before he hit the floor. Gabrielle screamed.
"What have you done?" She demanded. "My power is gone. What the fuck did
you do to my power?!"
"Playtime's over." Mat said. "I've made sure you can't access your power,
and without your powers you can be killed."
Gabrielle's body flew threw the air. She stopped right in front of Mat.
The group still stared at Gabrielle in shock. She did not look afraid; in
fact she looked excited.
"It's a shame you didn't met Devlin a few months ago, Mat." Gabrielle said
with a giggle. "If you had, then maybe your family wouldn't be trapped in
Morpheus' prison."
"What are you talking about?" Mat asked in shock. "My family died in an
accident."
"No they didn't." Gabrielle said in a singsong voice. "Morpheus realized
how powerful you were going to become. He had made sure you had no choice
but to come to here. This way I could kill you. It seems that my Lord's
plans have changed. You can kill me now, Mat, but that won't change the
fact that your mother and brother will be in Morpheus' power forever!"
"You're lying!" Mat spat. "I saw their bodies!"
"You saw what we wanted you to see." Gabrielle said with a wicked grin.
"You will never find them, you filthy piece of..."
Gabrielle did not get to finish. Her body was suddenly engulfed with
flames. Her screams echoed through the room. Mat was going to try and put
out the fire, but it was too late. The blaze was so intense Gabrielle's
body was reduced to ash in a matter of seconds. Mat was not sad to see her
go, but he wanted more information. He turned to look at Isabella and
Kristen.
"Which one of you did that?" Mat asked.
"What do you mean?" Isabelle asked in confusion. "I haven't done anything.
Why do you think I would do that?"
"I didn't do anything either, Mat." Kristen added.
"Besides myself, you two are the only elementals here." Mat responded. "One
of you had to have done it."
"Who cares who did it?" Galen asked. "Home girl was an evil bitch. She
totally got what she deserved."
"I could have gotten more information about my family, though." Mat said
quietly. He felt a hand on his shoulder.
"I'm sorry, Mat." Devlin said. He squeezed Mat's shoulder. "I didn't mean
to do that, but she just made me so angry."
"What are you talking about?" Mat asked. "Devlin, you're not an elemental.
You don't have the power to conjure fire."
"I felt it though. I could feel the anger boiling inside of me." Devlin
said. "Then all of sudden, it just happened. I know that I'm not a level
four, so how is that possible?"
"I think this may have something to do with it." Kristen said. She walked
over and took Devlin's right hand off of Mat's shoulder. She examined the
back of it. There was a symbol imprinted there. "I never noticed this
before, Devlin."
"Well, Kristen," Devlin said with a slight stutter. He looked at his hand
in shock. "That would be because it's never been there before. It looks
like a triangle, almost. This thing has a silver glow to it."
"It's a Celtic design." Kristen said. She ran her fingers lightly over it.
"It's not a tattoo, otherwise I would be able to feel that. It's almost
like it's a part of your skin."
"It reminds me of the symbol that TV show Charmed uses." Devlin said as he
examined his hand.
"It's the exact same thing." Mat replied.
"How do you know?" Gideon said. He glanced over his shoulder, where Mat was
standing a few feet away. "You haven't even seen it yet, Mat."
"Yes, I have." Mat replied. He lifted up his right hand and showed them
the matching mark. Mat stepped over to where the group had gathered. As he
reached Devlin they put their hands out to compare the marks. As their
hands came within a few feet of each other, the marks began to glow bright
silver. "I guess we've been bonded to each other. Didn't the prophecy
mention something about one of our group receiving enhanced powers?"
"This is amazing!" Kristen said. "We've never seen anything like this. We
should probably keep our eyes open for anything else unusual. The fifth
power has been unlocked. We might have the chance to finally find out what
exactly the fifth holds."
"There's one thing I have to do before I worry about my powers." Mat
replied. "I have to find my family."
*     *     *
The rest of the day was a whirlwind of activity. Mat was on the verge of
exhaustion. He had a long meeting with Joe and Kristen. They talked about
his powers and what to look for. They also discussed finding a way to see
if Mat's family was still alive, and if they were, how were they going to
save them. Mat knew that things were different since the power had been
unlocked. His body felt different, more alive. There was one other major
difference in him. He could sense Devlin.
Mat had been able to sense Devlin's presence before, but it was a thousand
times stronger now. In fact, it felt like Devlin was inside of his mind.
There was a small section in his brain that seemed to know exactly where
Devlin was, and what he was feeling. Mat hadn't seen much of Devlin since
this afternoon, after Devlin saved his life. Mat was headed back to their
suite, and he could feel the stress that Devlin was experiencing. So much
so, that Mat could almost see Devlin pacing back and forth in their bedroom.
Kristen told Mat what had happened after he died, the things that Devlin had
said and done. Mat knew that Devlin loved him, but it was upsetting to Mat
that he wasn't able to hear Devlin's first confession of his feelings. Mat
knew that would be the first thing there were going to talk about. They
both wanted to make sure what happening was real. After months of denying
his feelings for the man, Mat was tense to see what would happen now.
Devlin was no longer under Morpheus' control. Would be still be as open
with his feelings as he was this afternoon?
Mat walked into his suite and found Gideon and Galen waiting for him,
neither of them said a word. They walked up and engulfed Mat in a hug.
Gideon leaned in close to Mat's ear.
"He's been going crazy waiting for you." Gideon whispered. "Go to him.
We'll catch up with you both in the morning."
The twins each kissed one of Mat's cheeks surprising him.
"We're so happy you're still with us." They said together.
Mat watched as they headed across the living room towards their bedroom.
Mat felt Devlin's presence in his mind get more intense. It was difficult
at this point to really pinpoint exact emotions through the bond, though Mat
could get a general idea. He was sure that in time it would become easier.
Devlin obviously sensed how close Mat was. Mat took a deep breath and
headed towards their bedroom. He reached out and gently opened the door.
Devlin was in fact pacing the floor. As soon as he heard the door open his
body stopped in mid-stride. As their eyes met the bond pulsed in both of
their heads. A shy smile appeared on Devlin's face.
"Hi." Devlin said softly.
"Hey." Mat replied.
If this is the way the conversation was going to go, Mat knew it was going
to be a long night. Mat bent down to remove his shoes and socks. He was
tired, and it felt good to feel the floor beneath his bare feet. As Mat
stood up again Devlin came towards him. A soft, silver glow filled the
semi-dark room, as they got closer together. Devlin wrapped his arms around
Mat. Mat relaxed against Devlin. It felt so right for him to be in
Devlin's arms.
"Were they able to figure out anything about your family?" Devlin asked.
If Mat didn't love him already, he would have fallen in love with Devlin
right now. Even with everything else that had been going on between them,
Devlin's first question was about his family. Devlin had been through so
much, with Gabrielle controlling him and everything else; Mat couldn't
believe that Devlin was more concerned about him.
"Joe and Kristen are going to work on some ideas. Hopefully, we can figure
something out soon." Mat replied.
Mat and Devlin gazed at each other. Devlin tightened his arms around Mat.
"I could get totally lost in your eyes." Devlin said softly.
Mat leaned forward and pressed a gentle kiss against Devlin's lips. A soft
sigh escaped Devlin's lips as he opened his mouth to allow Mat entrance. It
was a slow, soul-searching kiss.
"I love you, Devlin." Mat whispered to him.
"I know, Mat." Devlin whispered back. "I love you too."
"I wish I could have heard you the first time you said it." Mat said with a
sigh.
Devlin looked thoughtful for a moment and then smiled at Mat.
"You can if you really want to." Devlin said. When he saw the confusion on
Mat's face he continued. "It's in my memory, the entire thing. All you
have to do is reach out to see it."
Devlin pulled Mat over to his bed. He laid down on the bed. Mat looked at
him with an amused expression.
"It's not what you think." Devlin said, as a deep blush ran across his face.
"Damn!" Mat replied. Devlin blushed even harder.
"This afternoon was the most difficult thing that has happened in my life."
Devlin replied in a quiet voice. "I just thought if we were going to relive
the memory, then we could at least be comfortable."
Mat felt bad for teasing him. He quickly laid down next to Devlin and
pulled the man into his arms. He rained kisses down on the top of the man's
head.
"I'm sorry, baby." Mat whispered. "I was only teasing you." He could feel
Devlin nod against his chest. "Ok. Here goes nothing."
Mat reached out into Devlin's mind. The memory came to him almost
immediately. Devlin obviously pushed the memory forward for Mat to see.
Just as Mat reached out and touched the memory a flash of light filled his
vision. Mat and Devlin found themselves back in the classroom. The entire
scene was playing out in front of them. Mat looked around quickly to see
if he could spot himself and Devlin in the memory, but he couldn't see them
anywhere. Mat wasn't sure what was going on until he saw Gabrielle look
directly at them and laugh. Mat suddenly knew what was happening. Somehow
they had become part of the memory.
Just as he did this afternoon, Mat pulled Devlin behind him as Gabrielle
lashed out. The entire scene played out the same way it did this afternoon,
though this time Mat didn't feel any real pain as the lightening coursed
through his body. Mat blinked, and he was suddenly on the ground being held
by Devlin. He heard himself tell Devlin that he loved him. Just as things
started to fade he could see Devlin and heard him echo the words. Light
flashed in Mat's eyes again and he was back in Devlin's bed. Devlin was
still wrapped in his arms.

"What the hell just happened?" Devlin asked. "It was almost like we were
reliving the entire thing."
"Except this time I didn't have to really get hit by the lightening." Mat
said with a grin. "Thank you for sharing that with me. I know going
through that again has to be so tough."
"If I was guaranteed to get you back, I'd live through as many times as I
needed to." Devlin whispered to him.
Mat's throat closed up with the emotion that ran through his body. He
pulled Devlin harder against his body. Mat eased his tongue gently into his
mouth. Their kiss started out with the innocence of a first kiss, but
quickly turned into a raging fire of passion. The kiss reflected the built
up passion that had been held so firmly in check for the past few months.
"I can't believe that this is even happening." Devlin sighed. "Things have
been so crazy."
"That's all over now, Dev." Mat said. "Gabrielle's control over you is
done. I won't let anything come between us ever again. I promise."
"I promise too, Mat." Devlin replied. He snuggled closer to Mat's body.
The passion was still there, lingering in the background, but they were both
so tired from what happened today. Mat's arms pulled Devlin closer to him.
Devlin rested his head on Mat's chest. "I'm so glad you're alright. I love
you, Mat, I really do."
"I know." Mat replied as sleep started to take over his body. "I love you
too, Devlin."
*     *     *
Mat was woken up the next morning by the sun. Sunlight streamed through
their open windows. He tried to roll over to avoid the light, but he wasn't
able to move. Something was holding him down. His body tensed in fear for
a moment, until his brain registered that it was Devlin. Devlin's arms were
still wrapped around his body. His head was still right below Mat's chin.
The man mumbled in his sleep and cuddled up closer to Mat. A bright smile
appeared on Mat's face. He tried to ease his body away from Devlin because
he really needed to use the bathroom. Mat started to pull away, but Devlin
had a death grip on him. He obviously didn't want Mat to go anywhere.
Mat glanced down at Devlin's body and concentrated for a moment. Devlin's
body lifted gently up about a foot in the air. Mat quickly rolled off of
the bed and gently put Devlin down again. Mat watched as Devlin reached out
for him. He started to toss and turn when he couldn't find Mat. Mat
reached out and sent calming thoughts to his sleeping boyfriend. Devlin
immediately calmed, his body returning to a sound sleep.
'Boyfriend?' Mat thought to himself. 'That definitely has a nice ring to
it.'
Mat quietly walked into the bathroom and started his morning routine. He
just started to brush his teeth when he finally glanced in the mirror. His
body froze in shock at his reflection. Mat reached up and gingerly touched
his face. The bruising was completely gone. His nose was no longer broken.
There was no trace of the fight Mat endured yesterday. All evidence of it
had disappeared. It seemed that the fifth power had some type of healing
property to it. Mat was still shocked, but he was happy to see the bruises
and broken nose gone.
Mat felt something shift in his head, and he knew immediately that Devlin
was awake. It was interesting to Mat how he seemed to instinctively know
how his powers worked. It was a bit unnerving, but Mat preferred to have
the knowledge, instead of stumbling around blindly.
'Morning, Dev.' Mat sent out.
'Morning, Mat.' Devlin replied. Mat could practically hear the grin in
Devlin's voice. 'You're up early today. Wasn't it comfortable in my bed?'
'Of course it was, baby. I had to go to the bathroom. I'll be back in a
second.' Mat sent back.
'Who you calling baby, baby?' Devlin thought back.
A deep blush appeared on Mat's face. He didn't mean for the endearment to
slip out like that, but it's easier to stop it from coming out of your mouth
than it is to stop thinking it. Devlin sounded amused, but Mat wasn't sure
if what he thought was ok.
'Stop worrying.' Devlin's voice said in his head again. 'I can feel you
getting upset in there. It makes me happy to hear you call me baby, baby.'
Mat could feel Devlin's happiness and amusement through the bond. If
anything, the bond will keep their communication as open and honest as
possible. Mat thought that this connection with Devlin would freak him out,
but he was surprised to find that it was very calming. No matter what
happened now, Mat would never feel alone again. He finished up his morning
routine and headed back into the bedroom.
Mat's breath caught in his throat at the sight before him. Devlin was
facing away from him, looking out the window. At some point Devlin must
have removed his clothes because he was completely naked. Mat's eyes took
in ever inch of the exposed flesh. A flash of heat shot through the bond.
Mat recognized the emotion immediately and felt his body responding. Devlin
was aroused, very aroused.
"Are you going to stand there and gawk, or are you going to get back into
bed?" Devlin asked. He shifted and looked over his shoulder at Mat.
As Mat approached the bed Devlin rolled over onto his back. Mat was in
complete awe of Devlin's beauty. The man was definitely gorgeous. His eyes
trailed over the hot man that was laid out before him. Mat's gaze finally
drifted down the sexy trail of hair on Devlin's stomach. Mat finally knew
what the expression treasure trail meant because Devlin definitely had a
treasure waiting for him. Devlin was hard and throbbing, and he was
practically identical to Mat's own seven and a half inches.
Mat slowly removed his clothing. He could feel Devlin's eyes burn into this
body. He felt the man's passion grow through the bond. It was getting so
intense Mat almost felt overcome by it. Once he was finally naked he laid
down next to Devlin. Devlin's hand immediately began to explore Mat's
muscular frame. Mat's hands were doing some exploring of their own.
Mat's body tingled. It had been so long since he had been with anyone. The
fact that this was Devlin made the moment even better. Mat had dreamed
about this for so long. To finally be able to have Devlin this close
practically took his breath away. Their lips met for another passionate
kiss. Their bodies exploded with pleasure. Devlin rolled on top of Mat,
pressing the full length of his naked body against him. Mat shook from the
contact. He wrapped his legs around Devlin's waist trying to pull the man
even closer to him. Devlin's body arched against Mat.
'You feel so good, baby.' Mat heard in his head.
'I've wanted this for so long, Devlin.' Mat thought back. 'My God, you are
so beautiful.'
Devlin buried his face in Mat's neck. He gently bit the skin below Mat's
ear. Mat groaned. He reached up and ran his fingers through Devlin's hair.
Devlin's hungry mouth started to move down Mat's body. He worshipped
Mat's chest, his lips and tongue exploring every inch of Mat's body, even to
the point of burying his face under Mat's arm. It was the first time anyone
had ever done that to Mat. He wasn't sure what to expect, but his body
arched from the sensation. Devlin's mouth continued its oral attack on
Mat's body.
Mat moaned as he felt Devlin's tongue slide down his muscular stomach. He
placed his hands on Devlin's head. He gently pushed down to encourage him
to continue. Devlin didn't put up any resistance. Devlin did bypass Mat's
hard member, and he began to lick and suck on Mat's low hanging sac.
Mat's breath caught in his throat as sensations shot through his body. His
eyes rolled into the back of his head. Mat didn't think it could get any
better than this. He found how wrong he was. Devlin's mouth started to
slide up Mat's throbbing shaft. Mat couldn't contain the yell that erupted
from him as Devlin's lips wrapped around his mushroom head. He was engulfed
in a very intense wet heat.
Mat could not contain himself any longer. He looked down at Devlin and
concentrated on him. Devlin's body swung through the air and landed in a
sixty-nine position over Mat. As Devlin gasped in shock, Mat took the
opportunity to push himself further into Devlin's mouth. He felt Devlin's
lips wrap around him. Devlin moaned and the sensation vibrated Mat's cock.
Mat leaned up to return the favor to Devlin. He gently chewed and licked on
Devlin's balls. Devlin groaned from the sensation as he swallowed Mat's
entire length.
Mat quickly engulfed all of Devlin's length in one long gulp. The two
sucked and licked at each other's body with an intense hunger. Just as Mat
felt his body coming close to the edge, Devlin pulled off. He looked over
his shoulder at Mat.
'I want to feel you in me, Mat.' Devlin sent out.
Mat's eyes searched Devlin's. The question asked without anything being
said. Devlin nodded his head to Mat. They were suddenly airborne and flew
over to Mat's bed. Devlin landed on his back with Mat on top of him. Mat
grinned down at him.
"Fucking show-off!" Devlin said with a throaty laugh.
Mat sucked and licked his way down Devlin's body. As he got lower Devlin
pulled his legs up to his chest. Mat started to lick and suck right behind
Devlin's balls. Devlin cried out. He rotated his hips to allow Mat even
more access. Mat couldn't control himself any longer and buried his face in
Devlin's bubble ass. Devlin groaned and pushed up to met Mat's eager
tongue. After a few moments Devlin used his power to pull Mat back onto of
him. He gripped Mat's cock with the power and lined it up to his waiting
hole.
Mat's eyes locked with Devlin as he felt himself being pulled in. Mat
reached out with his mind and he could sense the discomfort and slight pain
Devlin was feeling. He forced those sensations out of Devlin's mind.
Devlin felt what Mat had done, so without the worry of any pain he pulled
Mat all the way inside of him in one long deep push.
Mat and Devlin both shook from the pleasure that exploded in their bodies.
They were already joined mentally and now they were joined together
physically. Their eyes remained locked together as Mat began a slow, gentle
rhythm. Devlin wrapped his legs tighter around Mat's waist. In a matter of
moments they were covered in sweat. Mat's body screamed with the urge to
pound away at Devlin's hole, but Mat refused to give in to the urges. He
continued a slow thrust inside of his lover. Devlin lifted his hips higher
on Mat's next thrust. This caused Mat's cock to penetrate him even deeper
than before.
Devlin pulled Mat down to share another kiss with him. As they kissed
Devlin reached out with his mind and began to push at the pleasure spots in
Mat's brain. Mat was bringing Devlin very close to the edge, and he wanted
Mat to explode with him. After a few seconds Devlin could feel Mat's cock
get thicker, and he knew that Mat was close.
They reached their orgasms at the exact same moment. Devlin cried out as he
felt Mat's seed shoot deep inside of his body. Mat watched in awe as
Devlin's cock erupted over their bodies, without either of them touching it.
Mat leaned down and placed a sweet, gentle kiss on his lover's lips.
Devlin pulled Mat down on top of him. They relaxed in each other's arms.
Mat's cock never softened, and neither did Devlin's. Mat grinned down at
his boyfriend.
'Are you ready for round two, stud?' Mat sent out. Devlin grinned and
squeezed Mat with his ass muscles. 'You already had your fun. It's my
turn.'
They switched places. Devlin took his time as he made love to Mat. The
bond that they shared was very strong to begin with, but after opening
themselves up to each other, the bond was practically set in stone. There
was nothing that could break it.
*     *     *
Mat and Devlin enjoyed a long, leisurely shower together. There wasn't much
fooling around, though they did enjoy taking their time and soaping each
other's body. They got dressed and entered the living room. Gideon and
Galen were both sitting on the couch watching television.
"I don't know what exactly went on in there this morning..." Galen began.
"But we both shoot off twice without touching ourselves. So, you might want
to think about putting up some type of shield next time." Gideon finished.
"Are you fucking serious?" Devlin asked in shock.
"Yes, we are." Gideon replied. "The orgasms I had were so intense I know
that there was some serious fucking going on."
Mat and Devlin both blushed at their friends' comments. The twin stood up
and hugged both of them.
"We are really happy that the two of you were able to get together finally."
  Galen said.
"First though, what the hell happened to your face, Mat?" Gideon asked.
"Honestly, I don't know guys." Mat responded. "I woke up this morning and
everything was gone. My body must have healed itself or something."
"Wait a minute." Devlin said. "Didn't the prophecy mention something about
the ability to heal? Obviously, that gift belongs to you."
"I'm just glad it happened, whatever caused it." Mat said.
"You're hot, baby, even with all the bruises." Devlin said. He leaned over
and gave Mat a quick kiss on the lips.
"You two are so hot together." Gideon said. He fanned himself, acting like
he was all hot and bothered. "I feel like I might pass out." Gideon yelped
and grabbed his ass. "Alright! Which one of you pinched me?"
Mat and Devlin giggled. They shrugged their shoulders. Mat felt amusement
pulse through the bond. He knew that Devlin did it. Mat was just sorry he
didn't think of it first. Mat had an idea of his own though. He reached
out and gently twisted one of Gideon's nipples.
"Stop it!" Gideon said with a fake growl. "If I didn't already shoot twice
this morning I'd be getting some major wood right now."
Mat and Devlin blushed at the mention of this morning's activities. The
group headed down for breakfast. Mat and Devlin felt their asses being
pinched.
'You know that wasn't Gideon, right?' Mat sent out to Devlin.
'I know. I can practically see the laughter on Galen's face.' Devlin
replied. 'I'll fix his ass.'
A second later Galen yelped and his hand shot down the back of his pants.
"Whoever just gave me a wedgie is going to pay severely!" Galen growled.
Mat, Devlin, and Gideon all laughed. In fact, they practically had tears
rolling down their faces. Galen took it all in stride. They walked into
the dining hall and grabbed a table. A few minutes later Isabella sat down
with them.
"How are you doing, Isabella?" Mat asked carefully. He didn't know how her
sister's death was going to affect her.
"I'm doing great!" Isabella said with a beautiful grin. She looked at the
shocked faces that were staring at her. "Come one guys, I had to deal with
that evil bitch all of my life. After finding out she was in league with
Morpheus, I'm glad she's gone. We were never like other twins. She and I
weren't close with one another. I'm just upset I wasn't the one to fry her
ass."
Everyone definitely saw a different side of Isabella that morning. She was
relaxed and laid-back. Mat thought she was a cold-hearted bitch before, but
this person at the table with them was so different. Gabrielle obviously
brought out the worst side in everyone.
"So, Mat, we need to figure out where your family is." Isabella said. Mat
looked at her in surprise. "The only good thing my evil twin did was let
that information slip, and we are going to put it a good use. We WILL find
your mom and brother."
"Evil twin?" Devlin said with a giggle. "That sounds like a total soap
opera plot. I didn't know things like that happened in real life."
"You mean like people having super powers, Devlin?" Isabella sarcastically
threw back at him.
"You got me there!" Devlin replied while laughing.
"Seriously though guys, we need to start brainstorming ideas to help..."
Isabella's voice faded away a bit. Her eyes seem to glaze over.
"Isabella? Are you ok?" Galen asked.
Isabella began to speak, but she sounded like she was in a trance.
"There are those you seek,
Behind lock and key.
You must combine your efforts,
To set them free.
Search and you will find,
You must not delay.
Time is of the essence,
Listen and hear what I say."

Isabelle shook her head and looked at the group.

"What the fuck was that?" She asked.

"I think we just found out who has the sight of the future, present and
past." Devlin said.

"I'd have to agree with you, Devlin."

Everyone turned to see Kristen standing at the table.

"And I would venture to guess that Mat has the power of healing that the
prophecy mentioned." Kristen said with a smile. "Since his bruises have
seemed to vanish overnight."

"Devlin would have to be the part that mentions getting their full powers."
Isabella added. "Otherwise, how do we explain him torching that bitch
yesterday?"

"That would leave: control of nature and control of the mind." Mat said.
He glanced at the twins. "I wonder which one of you will get what."

"We'll find out soon enough I'm sure." Kristen said. "Right now we need to
work on Isabella's vision. She obviously was referring to your family, Mat.
Let's head down to the classroom and work on this."

The group quickly finished their breakfast and made their way to the
classroom.

'I hope we can figure this out fast.' Mat thought. 'God only knows what
Morpheus may be doing to them.'

Everyone was sitting on the classroom floor hours later. Mat was totally
frustrated. They had been trying for hours to figure out a way to find his
family, or even contact them. Mat told them about their appearance in his
room. The group was trying to figure out how that was possible.

"They must be projecting themselves." Kristen said. "It takes a lot of
concentration and power. Your family is obviously very powerful, Mat."

Mat had been trying to project, but it just wasn't working. Kristen said to
concentrate on his family and send out his image to them. A few times it
felt like something was happening, but then it would stop suddenly.

"Maybe I'm just not powerful enough." Mat said with a sigh.

"Your power was just given to you, Mat. It will take some time before you
reach your full potential." Kristen said. She rubbed his shoulder to try
and encourage him.

"Wait a minute." Devlin said. "Mat, you said that your mother and brother
visited you at the same time, right?" Mat nodded. "What if they someone
linked their power together? Instead of just two people projecting,
wouldn't it be more powerful to project as a group?"

"Devlin, you are brilliant!" Kristen said. "That makes total sense. All
we need to do is figure out how to link."

Mat leaned over and kissed Devlin on the forehead.

'Didn't I get lucky to have such a smart boyfriend?' Mat thought to Devlin.

'You can bet your sweet ass you did!' Devlin thought back with a grin.

"Kristen, everything that deals with our powers is all mental, right?"
Gideon asked. "No matter what we try to do, it all requires mental
concentration. What if we just concentrated on allowing someone access to
our power and strength?"

"Sometimes the answer to a complex puzzle is a simple one." Kristen said.
She motioned for Mat to sit in the center of the room with her. "I have the
most experience here. I'm going to try this first, just in case anything
goes wrong. Mat, I'm going to concentrate on giving you access to my power.
I want you to concentrate on taking them. Almost like I'm handing you
something. Let's take our time. I don't want anyone to get hurt."

Kristen and Mat locked eyes with each other. The group could see the
intense concentration on both of their faces. A few minutes passed, but
nothing seemed to happen. Devlin could feel Mat's frustration pulse through
the bond. Devlin closed his eyes for a moment and focused on pushing calm
thoughts through the bond. He sensed Mat relax. As Devlin opened his eyes
he something strange. A strange, white light glowed across the room. The
light took on a slightly human form. Devlin could make out that it was a
man but nothing more than that.

The figure raised his arms in front of him. He reached out and grasped his
wrists. He looked at Devlin and then glanced down at Kristen and Mat.
Devlin raised his eyebrow in question. The man nodded and faded away.

Devlin wasn't sure what to think. He looked back down at Mat and Kristen.
Could this work?
"Mat, Kristen, reach out and grab each other's wrists." Devlin said.

Devlin's voice did not interrupt their concentration. A look of question
passed over both of their faces, but they didn't have anything to lose.
They reached out and grabbed each other's wrists as Devlin instructed. As
soon as their hands locked into place a faint glow surrounded them. Devlin
felt a rush of power surge through the bond. It was so overwhelming that it
took Devlin's breath away.

"Kristen..." Mat began. "My God, your so powerful. I can feel it pulsing
through me."

"Focus on your family, Mat." Kristen replied. "Try and find them."

Mat closed his eyes and focused as hard as he could. A very hazy, fuzzy
picture flashed through his mind, but he couldn't focus on it. Mat
concentrated harder, but the picture still seemed to slip through his grasp.
Mat let out a frustrated sigh.

"It's not working. I can't focus on them." Mat sighed. "Morpheus must
have them behind some type of barrier. I don't think I can get through."

"You can with our help." Galen said.

Mat opened his eyes and looked towards the sound of Galen's voice. The
others had seated themselves on the floor next to them. There was a bright
glow surrounding the four of them. They were already linked. Galen reached
out towards Kristen. Devlin sat next to Mat; his hand was outstretched as
well.

"This could be really dangerous." Kristen said. The look on Mat's face
quickly changed her opinion though. "Okay. We'll try this. Remember to be
careful."

Kristen reached out and grasped Galen's wrist. Her breath caught in the
throat. There was a massive amount of power surging through them. Mat
could feel Devlin's love pulse through the bond. Any fears Mat had were
gone. He knew that he could do this. Mat reached out and grabbed Devlin's
wrist. The light around the group intensified.

Mat took a slow, steady breath. He closed his eyes again. His thoughts
centered on his family. Almost immediately a picture appeared in his mind.
Mat could see his mother and brother. They were trapped in some type of
cell. Sebastian was holding their mother in his arms. It was obvious that
she was injured.

"Momma!" Mat cried out.

"Teo?" Sebastian called out. "Where are you?"

Mat almost broke down in tears when he heard his brother's voice. Bastian
gave Mat that nickname when he was born. To hear it now, after so long,
nearly broke Mat's heart in two.

"Bastian!" Mat yelled. "I'm close. We're going to save you."

"There isn't much time, bro." Bastian replied. He was still looking around
trying to find out where Mat's voice was coming from. "The guards will be
here any minute. I love you, Teo."

"Don't give up!" Mat replied. "I'm going to save you. I'll find a way to
get you out of there. I promise."

'I have to get there. There isn't any more time. I need to help them.
NOW.' Mat thought.

A brilliant flash of light exploded in the classroom. Devlin opened his
eyes first and gasped.

"Where the fuck is Mat?!" Devlin yelled.

Everyone looked around quickly. Mat was gone.
