Subject: The Snow Prince (Part 2)

The Snow Prince

Looking out the window at the falling snow I smiled, Remembering the
memory's me and my mom shared. We always had so much fun in the snow, just
the two of us. Sometimes Dad would come and join us when he got of work
early, Mom was an amazing skater, Dad said that's how he fell in love with
her.

When I was 6 I asked my dad "Daddy how did you and Mommy meet?" I asked
while mom was in the kitchen making hot coco for all three of us. " Well
let me see..." He began, " I was working late at the lodge and was walking
home when I decided to take a short cut through the pond." He began to tell
me, " I walked and was felling pretty good about that day because I got a
raise from my boss, When I made it there I saw that someone was skating on
the ice alone. I really didn't think much about it but when the lights came
on I kind of wanted to check it out." I stared up at him with my big green
eyes and smiled, "That's when you saw Mommy?" I asked impatiently...(Hey I
was only 6. I couldn't help it).


He just chuckled and smiled " Yup that's when I saw your mom and she looked
like an angel. She moved like the wind and then it started to snow." "Wow"
I said looking up at him, He just smiled and continued with his story "Your
mom.." He said looking dreamy eyed up at my mother. "Daddy!" I said a
little annoyed that he forgot to continue the story. "Huh oh sorry champ"
He said smiling at me, " You mom was skating like an angel and dancing with
the snow." He said looking up at my mom as she came in with our hot coco.


"Wow, is that how you meet mommy?" Asked my mom, "Yes sweetheart that how
we meet, your daddy came out of nowhere and stepped on to the ice." My mom
said " I was skating moving along and then I crashed in to you dad over
there" My mom said laughing a little. Dad looked away a little red in the
face, I just smiled and laughed a little. "And then what, Did you marry
mommy the next day?" I asked, Daddy just laughed and said " No champ we
talked and got to know each other. We dated for a year then I asked your
mom to marry me." "Ooh" was all I could say.

"Mr. Rolland Could I steel your attention for a second?" my teacher
Mrs. Belle Summers asked me. "I'm sorry Mrs. Summers, It won't do it
again." I told her. "Alright Kai but don't let your mind wonder off and pay
attention.". I just nodded my head and listen to the lesson she was taking
about. 5 min. later the bell rang and out went to my next class, which I
hated because it was PE and Kyle would be there. But luckily he's buddy's
weren't .


"Alright girls get changed and back out here on the double" Said coach
Summers. (Yup he was married to my 1st period teacher.), I made my way to
my locked and got changed. The room was pretty much empty when I got done (
I changed slowly, I was shy around guys). `Bam' A big hand hit the locker
next to mine making me jump a little, "Hey there princess, like looking at
all the half naked guys around the room...Huh?" Kyle asked me. I just
looked down on the floor not wanting to meet his eyes. "I asked you a
question!" He shouted making me even more nerves. "No" I whispered to
him. He pushed me up to my locker and held me there." You think your friend
matt can save you every time?" He said to me looking. "Please let me go
Kyle" I said in a small voice. He just smirked at me and said "Alright
princess I let you go for now. But you got to do my English paper and have
it done by tomorrow...Got that!" he said to me. "ya" I said back. And with
that he walked out of the locker room.


Coach had up play volleyball and after that we went to take a shower before
lunch. I was the last one out and made my way to my locker before the bell
for lunch rang.( Why me, why dose he always pick on me for...Oh ya the
paint thing.) I let out a sigh and put my books away and took out the books
for my next class. As I was closing my locker two big arms came around me
and lifted me up in the air. I knew who's arms they were "Matt put me
down!" I protested. "Not yet" He said as he spun me around two time and the
put me down. "Why do you always do that?" I said a little wobbly at him, He
just smiled and said "I did it my last exam before break. And thanks to you
I know I'm going to ace it." "Well your welcome and next time don't do
that." I said to him.

We made our way to the cafeteria and grabbed our food and made our way to
join our groups of friends. "Hey guys what's up?" I asked.

"Well Kelly here is thinking of going out with Jack on the baseball team"
Said Jen. Jenny Wilson has been one of my friends since the day I pored
paint on Kyle. I think it has something to do with Kyle always taking her
cookies everyday at lunch when we were kids. She's 5'5, 125lbs with Black
hair all the way down to her butt. She has brown eye's and a killer smile
she also has a great tan all year round, It has something to do with her
being half Hawaiian I think. She on the cheerleading squad and vice captain
of the team.


" I am not, I said I'll think about it. Besides I'm not that in to him"
Kelly said back. Kelly O'Grady has been Jen's Partner in crime for as long
as I can remember. Kelly's 5'4 123lbs with red hair and green eyes, Her
family came for Scotland and she has the accent. I just love that about
her. Its so easy to tell when she blushes. She turns red all over and she's
lots of fun to be around, But sometimes her temper can get a bit out
there. "Come on who are you kidding, I know for a fact that He likes you a
lot. If you want I can call him over right now." Said Johnny. John Kings or
Johnny to us was always the clown. He 5'11, 195lbs thanks to working out
and Baseball. He had blond hair blue eye's( You know the all American
boy). " Johnny don't you dare." Said Kelly already turning red. "Come on
Kel, I thought you said you don't like him that much." Johnny
teased. "Johnny Leave her alone, Stop picking on her. She'll tell him when
she's ready." I said. My friends what would I do with out them, probably
not a thing. They have been there for me since my mom passed away. Even
Johnny who only knew my mom for three year was like another son to her.


I just looked out the window at the snow, (Mom, I wonder what it would have
been like if you where still here with me and Dad.). I felt someone shake
me a little bringing me out of my thoughts. "Hmm...what is it guys?" I
asked, (Oh no they had that look on there faces, That look that says are
you going to be ok?).  "Hey are you ok?" asked Matt, giving me that look. I
know that look so well, I looked at our friends and they had that sad smile
on all there faces. "I'm fine guy's, Really I was just thinking about what
to do for winter break." I said trying to ease there worry's.

"You sure, your going to be ok?" Matt asked, He's always been the strong
one. "Ya, I'll be fine now stop with those faces." I said to all
them. After lunch we all made our way to the next class of the
day. Chemistry and then History and that was it for the day. Walking out in
to the snow I felt free almost lost in it, if only I can feel like this
everyday. I made my way out to the school yard and headed for the parking
lot to meet the guys. "Hey finally, I was wondering if you wanted a ride
home, I'm taking Jen and Kelly to the mall and Johnny and me and going to
head to my how to work out a bit." Matt asked me. "No that's ok I'm going
to walk home." I said. He got this look on his face that said `Why what's
up?', I just smiled at him and said "Don't give me that look Matt, I'll be
fine, I'll call you guys later ok."


I just smiled and made my way out of the lot. I felt a hand on my shoulder
so I turned around to see who it was, "Where you going so fast princess?"
it was Kyle. "I asked you a question!" He said with a bit more
force. "Home...I'm going home." I said, He just looked at me kind of funny
and looked around a bit. "Want some company?" He asked, (Why would he want
to walk with me? This has to be some kind of a joke or something.) "No
thanks Kyle, I'll be fine on my own." I said back. He looked at me with
something I never seen in his eyes before, Kind of sad and disappointed at
the same time. I just shrugged it of and walked away.


My house wasn't that far from school so I just made my way there. As I
walked in the snow I looked around and knew where I was, I wasn't that far
from the pond where my parents meet. (Hmmm...maybe I should check it out) I
though to myself. So I made my way there. As I got close to the pond I felt
something, some weird feeling. Like something was pulling me there. And
there it was there was something about it that felt magical, I made my way
to the middle and looked around feeling the memory's my mom and me had
here.

"Mommy Looks at me...Look Mommy I'm skating" 6 year-old me said to my
mom. My mom just smiled and clapped her hands.

I smiled as a single tear made its way down my cheek. (Mom...Why you? Why
did you have to leave me and dad?). I fell on my knees and buried my face
my hands and cried wanting to know why my mom had to leave me when I still
needed her. I felt someone's hand on my shoulder and a voice that said "Are
you alright?". I looked up at the most amazing blue eyes I have ever seen.
