Date: Sun, 21 Sep 2008 13:50:29 -0400 From: J Subject: TRIO: notes, info, and commentaries TRIO NOTES and COMMENTARIES First the ages: Sole, at first I thought maybe he was 14 but actually he starts out as 15 and then probably turns 16 during the adventures. Aoi is a year younger than Sole, a year older than Pare so he's probably 13 at first, then possibly 14 and during the stories turns 15. Pare, it would turn to be, is 13 but possibly he's 12 in the beginning, then mostly 13 and later turns 14. Tarn is 19, maybe 20. Nolo is younger than Sole, thus Nolo is probably 13 or 14, I tended to think of him as 14 in the main body of the stories Simon is 18. Yurl/Yunt is 14, maybe 15 but at times he seems to act much younger like even 11 to 13... When I first wrote stabbing and sex stories, before these, many lost to the net and lost on files, everyone was very upset about the age thing, thus I didn't mention any in Trio or mention the ages of characters only when they are old enough to have sex or if they don't have sex at all. Thus in TRIO I tended to stay away from mentioning the ages...but... TRIO titles In the style of INUYASHA and other Japanese anime and manga, I picked some outrageous titles, and not all of them at the time. As you may have noticed, TRIO 121 is really not finished. THE MAZE is really not finished either. The post TRIO story ROUND ROBIN is somewhat finished. TRIO started as a desire to write a good belly stabbing fetish sex story. If you notice, there's not much blood, I tend to think of it as a fantasy not a realistic violence thing, even though there is a ton of violence. First, the whole thing is really a nod to and influenced by the old gladiator fantasy movies where someone gets stabbed and groans and falls without any blood being shown. It's also influenced by a ton of other things: Chinese and Japanese ninja and samurai movies, the sword karate movies (I hate the ones with out swords, knives and spears) mostly the Chang Che movies and Shaw Brothers movies, pirate and Viking movies among them, Indian vs Indian movies, and others. All of my writings have been influenced by FLASH GORDON, the Irwin Allen shows (and this shows in the TIME TUNNEL episodes of TRIO), British sci fi fantasy such as DOCTOR WHO, THE TOMORROW PEOPLE (which it seems Trio were before they left the real world), and BLAKE'S 7. Trio changed when they left the real world, where they were peace loving kids, who either couldn't or wouldn't kill, choosing not to kill. Once they came to the land and met Feng, they realized they had to in order to survive. Despite their somewhat messed up fetishes themselves, the core of Trio is, like my other stories, LOVE. Believe it or not, Trio love each other and others along the journey and are loyal to those others. They even help strangers in need. Just in an extreme way. Some of my other stories can be found at Gladiators on the Net web site. TRIO is probably a direct descendant of my earlier storylines for DEMAR. DEMAR was a skinny teen who was transferred to Violenza (the same universe/dimension/place TRIO takes places in) but in that world, his body is a muscled sword teen/man. DEMAR contained all the same sword play but it was decidedly heterosexual for the most part (he even had a girlfriend at times, who betrayed him) at the beginning. Toward the middle some gay themes came into it but it was also for the most part rated G t o R (with the R only because of the violence). There was also a "season" of tales that took place in the real world as Demar comes to the real world and the kid that became Demar went to Violenza (I think his name was Josh). These stories seemed so exciting at the time and many of them still are to me but compared to TRIO, DEMAR is ...sort of slow moving, boring, and way too hetero and playing it safe with little if any sex and longer dragged out storylines. TRIO just gets to the action of the fetish. I haven't thought about publishing DEMAR or sending the storylines (they are not full written out stories, just synopsis) to Nifty but maybe? I sometimes feel that NO ONE is reading TRIO or DOCTOR WHO, JESSE AND JEREMY. I know people are reading and liking PETER PAN AND ME because I get a fair amount of email about it (not as much as I'd like). If you like any of these let me know. Earlier stories include LORD OF THE FLIES: POINT OF AWAKENING, which I think is on Nifty someplace, scenes from HERCULES AND THE MOLE MEN, and other stuff, some of which found its way into TRIO, some of which just couldn't be adapted into TRIO. As it was, some stories on the list of TRIO are NOT related to TRIO at all, especially Beamer's storyline, Arliss's storyline, and the whole Jim's arena thing. My mind tends to think of it as taking place in the same universe however. Before TRIO, I did a round robin kind of thing, where people were supposed to answer which team they wanted to be on and most on line didn't answer, so I created their characters myself and set about pitting my team (with the few who did answer) against a larger team (those who did not answer). This lasted for a few chapters, which I hope to send Nifty as part of a PRE-TRIO tale (about 9 parts or so). POST TRIO I did a story about boys pitted against each other in a giant MAZE in a storyline called THE MAZE (which ran about 12 parts). By then, four other guys were doing stories, each would do a part where they pitted their characters against the other's or others'. The MAZE is a sort of EVERY character vs every character...inside a maze to find weapons and beat the arena masters at the center. Arliss, Richard, and Beamer's tales are part of those, too. There is a site called THE ARENA that had ALL those arena stories. For the most part TRIO (which could go on forever really) and THE MAZE (which had a definite ending planned) ended because I had written over a hundred storylines and stories about sword and spear characters and I felt I needed to go onto something else. Also as TRIO was in its 120-ish episode, I was in full swing with PETER PAN AND ME and it was ALL about LOVE. If you look and not too closely, PETER PAN AND ME has a ton of sword, spear, knife stuff, too. I also was embarking on DOCTOR WHO, JESSE AND JEREMY for the first time and doing all three at once was fun but strange. All three could probably go on forever...however, I can only write so much even if I have thousands of ideas for all three and other series. TRIO's next storyline was to have TWO ideas about Trio imposters: a false Trio who impersonated them and were dealt with quickly AND a Trio from an alternate universe that looked just like TRIO only they were bad/evil and completely amoral, killing good people. Aaron, Percival, Evan, and Christo were to return. I felt bad about killing them off but there had to be death in TRIO and all my stories for the danger to really matter. And as much as I tend to return dead characters to life, some of them have to stay dead. I did that in PETER PAN AND ME and I want to get that feeling in DOCTOR WHO, JESSE AND JEREMY but I do believe in an afterlife and I do like my characters, hence the desire not to kill them off for good. Tarn, Yule, Demnos, Java and Nolo were all set to return, Nolo separately, probably but maybe not--he might have been fun to have interacted with the other villains again and in some story where he and Sole met again somehow and maybe reconciled as Nolo is returned to the real world OR killed or both...but the double ideas as good as they are can get tiresome and I had new ideas for other series. Some of the other ideas came from DEMAR such as living swords that can possess their users... Another idea might have had Sole alone in a story based on the old song HOTEL CALIFORNIA. Here are some ideas I had for the future of TRIO: Imposters kill. Trio fights and kills attackers, some of them former friends. Trio finds out there is a trio of imposters. Trio kills the imposters Trio is split up for a short time. Sole in a storm in a haunted house. Woman turns out to be a man. Has males captive to kill. Sole kills them all and almost kills Pare when he stabs him by mistake. Demnos has Aaron, Christo, Evan, and Percival attack others An evil Trio from another universe arrives to kill others Trio vs evil Trio Trio vs Aaron, Christo, Evan, and Percival Nolo gets in on the business, gets together a group that can take on Trio, Tarn, and Demnos Tarn's plan with Java to create arenas or warriors or torture boys Living Swords attack people and kill Sole but his soul is put in a sword. Sole's body is taken by a cult of torture boys. The body is taken to a deep cave, chased by Aoi, Pare and others. The soul sword is revived in a new body...the boy Nolo killed who now, revived has Sole's soul in him but his brain remembers Nolo killing him. Sole's soul gets back into his body. Trio stops the revived body from killing Nolo. A boy named Galahad arrives and beg ins peace but he plans on making war. Galahad captures Tarn and Java and tortures them until Yule helps them get away. Trio finds a training school that Galahad has for training killers and torture boys. Trio shuts it down. Galahad summons other warriors from time to attack Trio, such as King Arthur and his knights. Trio is taken by the other Trio--Dylon, Nakoi, and to Feng's castle to recover but they soon realize it is not really Feng, their Feng but an evil universe they are in. They fight and slay the fake Feng and fake other Trio. Trio stops a Robin Hood and gang who rob the poor and kill them, and give their bodies to Galahad, who uses their bodies to summon together a demon/man monster. Galahad summons Georges to the world, Alex's boyfriend and plans to use him in some plan. Simon and Alex return to the world. The little boys and Alex are captured by Viking king who wants to rule the entire land. They kill Indians and use Berserkers. Nolo gathers army to take on Tarn, Trio, and Galahad's forces. Sole kills Nolo. Also here is a letter I wrote to a fan about TRIO'S FUTURE at a time before Aoi's solo adventure in China's section was wrapped up. It tells of some plans that never came to be such as a street stick up, gangs, and other real world stuff as well as some of what is20above. Of course the story is different but the scenes of the pirates are the same. I try to spin a new wave around it. The pirate story seems as though it will be around a while longer than I thought as I milk it for all it's worth! Then it will be onto where Aoi is, Nolo's little escape (?) maybe, and where Pare is. One will involve Chinese vs Japanese karate guys I think, a street stick up in an alley, and possibly a Philippine and/or Easter Island bunch of tribes. Leave it to Trio to find trouble. I hoped to bring the memory thing to a close in the 100s so I can do a BIG Trio battle with old enemies and finally finish the Demnos, Aaron, Christo thing but I think that might come a bit later now. Not sure. I also have more plans than I have time to write them including an evil Trio from another universe, Trio being framed by fake Trio's (imposters from THIS UNIVERSE), and Trio showing Ice T how to be humble and not wish for rioting in the LA streets, a women dressing as a man dressing as a women who is torturing little kids off the street and has to be stopped, a weightlifting machine scam Trio has to stop, and cursed swords turned into warriors! Here are some other ideas I had and a TRIO advertisement done in the style of the pulp magazines and comics: I'm thinking of splitting them up after the next big storyline, which will be an Indian storyline. Then Trio might get lost and split up or something and then I have to also handle the return storyline where Trio's four pals are used to lure them out. I might also have an evil Trio from an alt universe turn up to frame them. See: A headless muscled body searching for its living head of violence! The ridge is outtie a bit and the navel innie part is big and somewhat shallow but deep at the same time. And seeing that knife seem to go in that deep! Whoa! OOOOOOOOOOOhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh yyyeeeaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!" I may yet still write some of these. There are also other belly stabbing stories that I can't find, one called TAKING IT which was based on an artist's picture/drawing of teens taking it in their bellies from a guy/coach who was using a belt with a blade on it as well as two knives in his hands. He had an assistant doing the same while a teen or two hang from torture devices, belly down, in the background. Is there anyone else? I'm not sure if anyone is reading the stories or if people are just too afraid to comment or write about it. Not sure. Many future episodes would have concerned the villains and enemies and after awhile it gets sort of repetitious. Sole would have died. His body would have been used by an evil enemy and at the end of that storyline he would have been resu rrected somehow. Tarn was too good a character to kill off for good and yet he doesn't really do very much except during his escape and intro, killing lotsa boys and teens and guys. Tarn would probably team up with TRIO during a few adventures against other enemies and maybe during Sole's body being used. Java would almost certainly have died for good as he was great villain but there were far too many villains to let them all live that long. Yule/Yunt has two names because as I wrote these, I simply made a mistake and re-named him by accident. In the end Percival, Evan, Christo, and Aaron would have all returned, probably all to life. I think Justin would probably have hooked up with one or two or all of them, and maybe even made Aaron his mate for life. Eventually TRIO would have either died or returned to the Earth of their birth, their home Earth. But after all this how would they be? Would they be returned to their peaceful natures, unable to or willing not to kill? Would they be bored and seek to return to Violenza? The wolf boy that was in his tomb...to have him stay there seems cruel. I think he would have found a way back to the home Earth for himself and others and possibly for Nolo. Nolo, if he returned to Earth...what would he have been like? Would he turn to good or would he start a gang or join a gang? Would he try to return to Violenza, finding there more of a life for himself? If he returned first, would Sole go looking for his brother? And how would their reunion have been? Bazian the redhead would have returned as well. In the end, we may never see these storylines but I might do a few more chapters if moved to. The MAZE was supposed to end with a small bunch of the surviving boys including Beamer and Montar in the center of the Maze. There, the three owners of the stables of boys were the ones who would fight the boys and in the room would be only a few weapons. The three owners would be an alternate universe version and there would be the three who were the real ones from the real universe. As much as it would have killed me to do this, one or the other would save the other, Beamer would probably be left standing as Montar sacrifices himself to the three, blocking a kill blow from one of the three meant for Beamer. Beamer was to have killed the others, Montar having killed one or two of the three (really six). the mysterious killer who stalked the upper Maze was one of the three (six) owners of the Maze. Beamer might have been mortally wounded and die at the end. That's how it was supposed to end...I think!? In all, it's been fun writing these stories and not the challenge/burden that some of the other stories I write sometimes become. TRIO was almost always fun to write for and those three characters and a few others from it seem to stay with me. There are also archetypes that seem to stay with me: the blond Adonis hero (Peter Pan, Jeremy, Jesse, some of the Doctors), the seemingly cold hearted pretty boy muscle boy Asian with a heart of gold and fierce fighting skills (Aoi, obviously in TRIO and PETER PAN AND ME), and the lithe, young Hispanic with longish hair (Pare in this and PETER PAN AND ME, Rico in THE TOMORROW PEOPLE universe). I also tend to throw in a few characters that need protection such as the Boy who was not talking in early TRIOs and some who are both innocent and helpless but some who are just innocent and calm (Adam in DOCTOR WHO, JESSE AND JEREMY).
