Subject: Vampire-High Priest: Prologue

Hi, this is my first work in fantasy. I have read all the stories on
Vampires posted in this site and other popular classical works on the
topic.I almost felt compelled to write about my own version of vampires,
after I found none to be as satisfying as I would have liked them to
be. All the works I read were really inspiring, but I felt there was
something missing in them. Don't misunderstand me, the stories were very
good but they just were not my own idea of the creatures of night.

There is something about vampire homosexuality that is endearing to me. It
is perhaps the sense of total recklessness, hedonism in combination with
the added spice of violence that makes this area of literature so intensely
exciting to me. Any way please read my own attempt on this area of
literature.

The following story contains graphic homosexual scenes. If material of
this nature offends you then you should not read this story. Additionally,
please make sure that you are legally eligible to read this material.

I claim all copyrights to this story however if you may publish it in your
website after you have obtained my consent.

Constructive criticism is welcome. Comments and suggestions directed to my
style and content of writing are most welcome.

Some notes and general information relating to the terminology used in the
story.

Lamia in Latin means Vampire/Witch; hence my own invention of the word
Lamiapithecus is to refer to the species of vampires just as Homo sapiens
is to humans. Mastaba is a burial tomb, just like a pyramid but unlike the
pyramid mastaba is an underground structure to afford better protection
from tomb raiders. I will be using some ancient Egyptian words in the story
I am listing some of the words and their meaning I used in the story. This
list is may not be complete but I will try to update this list as I post
the next chapters in the coming weeks.

1.Ker Heb: High Priest (Miu-Oa is most often referred to by this title,
among many others like Sekhemet and Asarhotep)
2.Senworset: My Lord
3.Mery: Beloved
4.Asarhotep: Osiris is at peace
5.Ahmose: The moon is born
6.Khenemet: One joined to
7.Sekhemet: Powerful One
8.Anubis: Royal child
9.Heb Sed: Jubilee Celebration
10.Ra: The Sun God
11.Osiris/Asar: The King of Gods, Lord of Underworld
12.Isis: Consort of Osiris, Goddess of fertility
13.Moses: Moses, a son of the tribe of Levi, educated in Egypt and
initiated at Heliopolis, became a High Priest of the Brotherhood under the
reign of Pharaoh Amenhotep [Akhenaton]. He was elected by the Hebrews as
their chief
14.Tutankhamun: Son of Akhenaton, Living image of Amun
15.Akhnaton: Father of Tutankhamen, Pharaoh of Egypt

PROLOGUE

On initial glance the mound of sand seemed like a usual part of the vast
desert landscape in Giza. After the discovery of the pyramids of Giza no
further excavations were conducted. Ariel Kaifa had researched Egyptian
civilization now for twenty-five years. He stood marveling at the sight of
the sand covered Mastaba, the fruit of his endless nights of research and
innumerable failed digs. This was going to be the high light of his
career. The workmen were clearing away the sand from the dig site and the
sun was setting quickly, they would have to return the next day to open the
tomb. Ariel was so excited that he didn't want to leave, so he pursued
looking and investigating the ancient tomb. He felt bewildered at not being
able to find any hieroglyphics or other markings that are typical to the
tombs at first glance.

However he found a stealthily concealed entrance at the south side of the
tomb, but he had no clue as to how it was to be opened since there were no
apparent grooves or joints between the stones. The structure seemed
monolithic as if it was carved out of a single stone. Ariel felt
frustrated, resigned to the fact that he might have to break in such a
magnificent structure.

The next day the workers broke in and found an enclosed tomb inside, this
definitely was not typical. This enclosed tomb was decorated vividly with
the carvings honoring the God Osiris surrounded by beautiful priests with
fangs worshipping him. At the southern entrance of the tomb Osiris was
depicted with outstretched hands toward a sarcophagus, offering his
protection and showering his benedictions. The name on the sarcophagus read
High Priest to Osiris, Miu-Oa (the great male cat). Also inscribed were the
traditional curses that would befall upon all those who dare desecrate his
tomb.

That night Ariel entered the tomb alone, since the workmen feared the curse
of the dead. He walked into a long hallway it was pitch black. It smelled
musty and was cold. It was surprisingly clean for a 2000-year-old tomb,
vast paintings and carvings covered the walls. Even in the faint light of
the torch they looked impressive. The carvings of beautiful men being
intimate in various ways were a big surprise to him. He knew homosexuality
was common in Roman and Greek civilizations but nowhere in his research on
Egyptian civilization had he come across homosexuality in that ancient
civilization. Such an open display of homosexuality seemed too much for his
conservative Jewish sensibilities, but the archeologist in him made him
curious. He looked on, imagining what it was about homosexuality; these men
in the carvings really seemed to enjoy themselves. He was so much engrossed
at looking at these men having passionate sex and their eyes glowing with
bliss that he almost forgot his purpose for being in this great hall. The
pleasure these men seemed to feel seemed otherworldly. He walked on quickly
thereafter, at the end of the hallway he beheld the sight of the might
statue of Osiris, and his hands outstretched cradling a magnificent
sarcophagus just like the carving on the entrance of the second tomb. It
sparkled golden in the torchlight; the underside of the coffin was obsidian
black, it seemed to absorb light. The upper side was decorated with
precious stones and other metals forming a relief of a beautiful man. The
blood red rubies for eyes, of the man seemed almost hypnotic. It seemed
like he spent forever gazing at the sarcophagus, its beauty and not to
mention the treasure it represented was captivating. He was surprised that
tomb raiders had not apparently pillaged the tomb. There was however some
skeletons scattered around the coffin. He could not discern the meaning of
their presence, and he just assumed they were a sacrifice for the High
Priest.

The top of the sarcophagus slid off easily; inside to his surprise there
was a very well preserved naked body of a man. His body was only adorned
with precious jewelry and was not wrapped in like a typical mummy. Even
though his body seemed emaciated his sharp features even in his death
seemed to radiate an aura of power. His skin was a brilliant complexion of
bronze; Ariel did not have to stretch his imagination to know how handsome
the High Priest must have looked in life. He closely examined the body and
unconsciously started running his hands over the man's cold face, marveling
at his beauty.

My eyes flew open, with the warm sensation of the warm blood infused flesh
on my face. I could almost sense the fear and a strange excitement in his
slave blood. His skin was pale and he was dressed funny. He did not seem
like a tomb robber here to disturb my slumber; the absolute horror when he
met my eyes was hilarious. He stood frozen gripped in fear; his thoughts
were in absolute chaos. The scenes of all the horror movies about mummies
seemed to flash in his mind all at once I didn't know what it meant. I
lunged for his throat and my fangs were buried in his flesh immediately and
I sucked on his blood deeply. He had the blood of the slaves; I guess the
slaves survived the great pharaohs. It was not long before I sucked him dry
and his lifeless body slumped onto me. I pushed the corpse aside and rose
from my coffin. I don't know how long it had been since I felt this
invigorated.

I bowed to Osiris, Lord of eternity, King of the Gods and Lord of the
Underworld as a first order of business. I debated if I should go back to
my hibernation it must have been an eternity, but what did I care about the
affairs of mortals. The pain of assassination of my lover Tutankhamen was
still fresh in my heart, he had refused to take refuge in my lord Osiris,
refusing to betray Amun even in exchange of the eternal gift of life on his
death bed. Of course I had avenged his death, his assassins paid dearly for
my lovers death. I could still hear their agonizing scream as I ripped
their guts and stuffed them in their mouth. But nothing, nothing could take
away the pain of losing my dear Tut. I tried rousing my brother priests but
none responded to my mind calls. I could not feel them in my mind this
really puzzled me.

The next order of business was to summon my servants, or rather the
descendents of my original servants and then I proceeded to feed on all the
workmen as the first rays of the sun started piercing the night of my
rebirth. As I fed I also acquired their thoughts and knowledge, so much
which was not comprehensible to me. The world seemed to have changed
drastically, the pharaohs were no more, the birth of new faiths and the
death of old one's. It gave me a headache to try to bridge the gap between
the world I lived in and the world I was reborn into. Oh yes there were
vampires, I could sense them but they seemed so feeble, their powers a
fraction of the ones our kind used to possess. I felt incredibly strong,
and my body was restored to its original splendor. I sent out an outburst
of my mental energy that would awaken the bond between my faithful and me.
They would come to me no matter where they might be in the world, they
would again enter into my service like their ancestors had and I shall
reestablish my presence in the world once again. I sent out a probe to
examine the thoughts of the people in my immediate vicinity. Their thoughts
were so unorganized and surprisingly independent, my ignorance of their
culture and their innate imperfections in thought combined together made my
task of understanding my environs almost impossible. I thought it best to
let it be until my faithful arrived; I could then make some sense of the
world around me. I could not help but smile at the thought of exploring a
new world, unraveling its mysteries and not to mention the pleasures of the
living once again. Those were my last thoughts as I drifted into sleep.
