stuck with us through it all. Norval, my first love and the first boy I
ever sucked is now a Senator.

That is pretty much the end. Gary died in 1998 and Jed a year later. I went
their funeral and Steven reminded me to write a story about Gary.

To give you a real time line. I met Gary in Atlanta Georgia in 1972. My
home base of record was Fort Benning although I don't think I ever entered
the Base. I was 25. I never told Gary where or what I did in the Army. I
don't even know why he had stopped to talk to me or even why he wanted me
to write a Story. Maybe it was the Uniform or maybe he saw something in my
eyes.
