CHAPTER 42
JUNE IS BUSTING OUT

The month of June carried two significant meanings for Aiden and his
friends—summer was close at hand and the last day of school was even
closer. And Park League baseball was coming to an end for the season.
The recreation league was scheduled to end soon. The idea of ending the
season before summer got into full swing was to free families of any
summer commitment.

Aiden was envious of his friends Gordy and Rusty. Travel leagues were
just getting started. They would be playing baseball to the end of July. Their
season would continue into August if they played in any postseason
tournaments. As far as Aiden was concerned, baseball was meant to be
played in warm summer weather, not in cool, gray, damp spring weather.

The Knights' first game after Memorial Day weekend was on Thursday,
June 1. It would be their tenth game, leaving them with just two to go. The
season would finish with a final tournament involving all six teams in the
park league.

On Thursday morning, Aiden busily wolfed down his cereal and bowl of
fresh sliced fruit. He was dressed comfortably in white socks, a Mayfield
High School baseball t-shirt, and a pair of green briefs with blue trim.

"Daddy, do you think I'll be good enough to play on a travel team next
year?" Aiden asked Larry, who was sitting across the kitchen table from
him.

"The best way to find out will be to try out next year," his father answered.

"You mean you'd let me do it? You said I couldn't do it before."

"I said I didn't want for you to turn out this spring," Larry said. "You'd never
played the game before. Your dad and I felt you would do better with a year
to learn by playing in a no-pressure rec league."

"I know, but now you are saying it's okay for me to try out next year."

Larry fought down a sigh of exasperation. "Aiden, we've had this
conversation more than once. Your dad and I are more than pleased by
how much you've learned about playing the game, both the physical and
the mental parts."

"Yeah, but do you think I'm good enough to play for a travel team?"

"We feel you now need to grow as a player by getting involved in better
competition. We think you're becoming a very good player. The best way to
be good enough to make a more competitive team next spring is going to
be to do what?"

Aiden swallowed his last spoonful of Raisin Bran. "I have to work my ass
off," he said seriously.

"Aiden!"

Aiden looked at Larry and unsuccessfully tried fight back a smile. Instead
he broke out into laughter as he picked his dishes up from the table. "Well,
it's true," he giggled.

"You are incorrigible."

Aiden had looked up that word the last time his daddy had used it. It got
him giggling even harder as he placed his bowls, glass, and spoon into the
dishwasher. "Well, it's true," he repeated. "That's what I gotta do."

"What you have to do is brush your teeth and get dressed so you won't
miss your bus."

"You could give me a ride to school."

"And pigs could fly, too." Larry gave Aiden's pert ass a swat through the
thin material of his underpants. Aiden squealed with delight. He turned
around and gave Larry a hug.

"Bye, daddy. Make it a super day."

"You do the same, son." He reached under the boy's t-shirt and tickled his
bare belly, causing him to squeal and laugh even louder. Larry let him go
and he dashed out of the kitchen and up the stairs, gleefully laughing.

Aiden had laid out his clothes for the day before coming down to breakfast.
He quickly yanked off the t-shirt. He often went down for breakfast wearing
only his underpants, but he had yet to get his dads to give on the wearing a
shirt to meal rule and had to go back to his room for a shirt to wear. He
planned to keep trying. He pulled on a pair of jeans, a light blue polo shirt,
and his shoes.

He gathered up his backpack and dashed back down the stairs. He went
out of the front door, double checking to make sure it was locked. The
weather was drizzly and he sat in the shelter, but didn't have to wait for
long. The yellow school bus arrived within minutes. Once the stop sign was
out and the red lights flashed, he checked for traffic and then crossed in
front of the bus. He was ready for the first school day of June, happy that
there would be just nine days of school left in the month.

On the ride to school, Aiden thought about Sammy and how Sammy
wanted a blow job from him. He had said no to Sammy and wasn't sorry
about it. Sammy bugged him with the way he kept wanting to mess around
with him and kept saying things about sex. Aiden remembered something
Sammy said when he'd asked him for a BJ a couple of days before.

"Come on, blow me," Sammy had said. "I've sucked you off, you can suck
me off."

Aiden stared out the window as the school bus crossed the dam. While
Sammy had promised to suck him off as a reward and more than once had
said he'd keep that promise, Sammy had yet to give him a blow job. He
didn't say anything then because Sammy made him nervous. He had been
liking Sammy less and less and now, after Sammy lied to him, he didn't
know if he liked Sammy at all.

He arrived at school in a funky mood. But, Muddy and Collin were waiting
for him when the bus pulled into the driveway at school and he quickly felt
much better. Aiden thought it was cool that a fifth grader was a good
enough friend to be waiting to meet him.

"Are you ready for tonight?" Collin asked after the boys exchanged fist
bumps.

"Almost. I'll get really ready at Gordy's house after school." Aiden was
slated to be the starting pitcher in their game against the rival Mayfield
Dodgers. There had been a lot of friendly trash talk between the boys from
the two teams and Aiden was ready to shut the Dodger players up.

Muddy and Aiden stopped at their lockers. Collin reminded them he would
see them at lunch and went on to the lockers outside of his classroom.
Gordy was at his locker, and after the required exchange of fist bumps, the
boys entered Mr. Knox's classroom.

Mr. Knox was aware of the big game that evening and talked it up with the
boys before the final bell rang. "Are you going to the game?" Aiden asked
eagerly.

"I wouldn't miss it," the fourth-grade teacher smiled, eliciting ear splitting
grins from the boys. His support of the students in his class was one of the
many reasons he was beloved by his students.

At lunch, all of the Knights players sat together at one of the long lunch
tables. Aiden, Muddy, Gordy, Miles, Mason, Collin, Russell, and Luke
jabbered non-stop about the game.

Aiden was distracted once when Autumn Kellogg stopped behind him. He
was thankful she wasn't with Shana Masters.

"Are you still coming to my house on Saturday?" she asked somewhat
coyly.

"Yeah, I'll be there," Aiden replied impatiently. "Right after lunch." The
Knights' makeup game against the Meadow Park Phillies was scheduled
for Saturday morning.

"You can have lunch at my house." Aiden swore that he could see her
eyelids fluttering.

"That's okay, I gotta shower and change anyway." He didn't plan on
showering, but he wanted any excuse to delay the visit.

"You could shower at her house, too," Luke joked, which got the whole
table laughing.

"See you on Saturday," Autumn said. You'll be seeing me in class, too,
Aiden thought as he turned his attention back to his teammates at the
table.

"Ooh, Aiden's got a girlfriend," Collin giggled, eliciting a string of mocking
comments from the table.

"We're going to finish our social studies project," Aiden said loudly. "No way
she would ever be my girlfriend. I don't even like girls." He admitted to
himself that Autumn was nice for a girl, as long as she wasn't hanging
around Shana. But, he was in no way interested in something like a
girlfriend. His guy friends were all he needed.

"Nail," Muddy declared after Autumn walked away.

"Damn, Muddy," Collin said, "nobody gets more boners than you do."

"My brother, John, comes close," Miles giggled.

"Are you going to the bathroom to jerk off?" Mason asked eagerly. He had
quickly turned into a little horn dog—he didn't need to wait for puberty to hit
to be smitten by sex.

"No, lunch is almost over. I shall wait until I get home. It hurts to wear my
cup if I have a nail."

"Rats. I was hoping I could watch you."

"Mason, you got the dirtiest mind of all of us," Miles said.

"Yep," Mason agreed proudly.

"But me and Muddy are close."

"You fourth graders are all sex fiends," Luke observed.

"Yep," Mason agreed yet again.

"Gordy and I have a softball game, so we better go," Aiden said.

"Me, too," Muddy said. His team was playing Aiden's team in the lunch
intramural league.

"Can you play with a boner?" Mason asked, hoping Muddy would want him
to help get rid of it before the game.

"It is gone down," Muddy told him.

Aiden's team won the intramural game 7-4. He was happy, but the best
news had been texted to him by his daddy during the game. Washington
State had defeated New Mexico 8-2 in its first NCAA Regional game. Aiden
couldn't wait to find out how Marty had done.

After school, he and Gordy logged onto Gordy's laptop. Marty had gone 2-
for-5 with a triple and two runs batted in. Aiden was pleased to see that
Marty had contributed to the win. The Cougars would be playing Kansas
State the next day.

Larry arrived at Gordy's house at four. Gordy's father, Aaron, came home
about ten minutes after Larry. Flo Lansing had macaroni and cheese
prepared for dinner.

"Nothing like a shot of carbs to get boys ready to compete," Flo said. Even
though Gordy wouldn't be playing, he had no trouble stuffing down the mac
and cheese.

They were all at the middle school field before five thirty, Coach Hallion's
deadline for arriving for the game. Phil arrived from work a few minutes
later. He'd stopped at the Centerville Café for a burger and fries before
making the drive to Mayfield.

The carbohydrates seemed to have worked. Coach Hallion had told Aiden
his pitching duties would end after eighty pitches or four innings, whichever
came first. The innings limit came first—Aiden needed only 69 pitches
through four. When he moved from the mound to third base in the fifth, the
Knights led the Mayfield Dodgers 9-2 on their way to an 11-4 win.

The Knights were now 7-3. Although nobody was keeping track (wink,
wink), everybody knew that they were tied with the Kentburg Wolves and
the Meadow Park Royals for first. The Royals were the team that Nolan
played for.

Although he failed to get a hit, Aiden walked twice and scored two runs. He
was happy with how he played and emailed the score and his stats to
Marty before going to bed. An email from Marty had been waiting for him
when he accessed his email. Marty said Kansas State had a really good
team and that their Friday game would be a tough one.

After being read to and tucked in, Aiden thought about masturbating. But
he was too tired. "I better jerk off tomorrow, though," he told Horace. "I don't
want to be horny when I go to Autumn's house—who knows what might
happen." Although Horace said nothing, Aiden was certain the big stuffed
donkey appreciated his humor.

The next morning Mr. Knox congratulated the Knights on their win. He told
the Dodgers the Knights got hot at the plate and Aiden had pitched a good
game. "And in the end, your teams split their two games, so nobody has
bragging rights."

"We're tied for first," Miles bragged.

Mr. Knox gave Miles one of his patented teacher looks. "Like I said, nobody
has bragging rights." Miles looked properly contrite. The Dodgers were 4-7
with one game left to play and didn't particularly like listening to Miles beat
his chest.

At lunch, Mason asked Muddy if he "did it?"

"Did what?" Muddy asked.

"You know, IT. Did you do IT after school."

The light bulb turned on in Muddy's head. "No, but my nail did not come
back. Before bed, Josif, gave me a blow job," Muddy whispered. Josif was
his fifteen-year-old brother. "I gave him one, too, and both of us are happy."

Larry picked up Aiden after school and took him home. Aiden changed
clothes and went out to the basketball court that had been recently
constructed. But, instead of shooting hoops, he set up his baseball targets
and spent the next fifteen minutes practicing his pitching. His goal was not
to throw the ball as fast as he could, but to throw strikes. As Larry watched
his son hard at work, he could see that he was becoming very dedicated to
improving as a baseball player.

After working on his baseball, Aiden went to his room, took off everything
except his underpants and socks, booted up his computer, and checked on
the Washington State Cougars and Marty. He was disappointed to see that
they were behind 6-2, but the game was only in the sixth. He was optimistic
about the Cougs coming back on the Kansas State Wildcats.

He went downstairs and found the game on ESPN. He sat back in his (and
Phil's) favorite chair, placed his right hand inside his briefs, and watched
the baseball game while casually fondling his little pecker.

Phil came home from work and quickly got dinner cooking. While he was
busy in the kitchen, Larry came into the TV-whatever room and sat on the
love seat, pretending to ignore what Aiden was doing with his hand. If
Aiden had been naked, he would have asked him to stop. But, it appeared
that Aiden was casually playing with himself, and wasn't openly
masturbating.

Aiden ignored Larry's presence and kept playing with himself. He wasn't
really masturbating—that was something he would never do in front of his
dad. In his mind he was simply making his cock feel warm and good and he
didn't care who saw him do that—he didn't have a boner, so what he was
doing had nothing to do with sex.

Aiden's optimism proved to be unfounded. While they managed to fight
back, the Cougars lost the game 7-5. Marty's eighth inning two-run homer
was a big hit, but it wasn't enough.

"They get to play again, tomorrow, right?" Aiden asked as Larry stood up.
Aiden pulled his hand out of his undies, since he was now actively dealing
with his daddy.

"They play twice if they win," Larry answered. "They're done if they lose."
Larry noticed no sign of an erection in Aiden's undies. The boy had not yet
entered puberty, or he'd have something tenting his white briefs. "Let's get
the table set for dinner."

Phil smiled as his scantily clad son entered the kitchen. He thought it was
great that Aiden felt comfortable enough to walk around the house half
naked, or even fully naked for that matter. He wondered why Aiden
sometimes kept his underpants on and sometimes took everything off.

At dinner, Aiden put on the t-shirt he kept in the kitchen for meals. Not for
the first time, he thought about Miles's brother John. Someday, like John,
he would try sitting at the dinner table with just a long t-shirt covering his
otherwise naked cock and balls.

That night, after the bedtime reading and tucking in, Aiden quit being
casual and lubed up his hard cock. He got right into full-blown masturbation
and was shaking from his dry cum within fifteen minutes after starting.

The next morning the family was up early. The Knights had a 10 am game
at Meadow Park against the Phillies, a team they had defeated 11-7 early
in the season. They picked up Mason and Russell in the Odyssey.

Trent was the starting pitcher. He pitched the first four innings as the
Knights bolted to a 14-0 lead. Aiden had three solid hits.

Coach Estes watched the game from a folding chair he had placed up the
third-base out-of-play line. Since he'd last watched the Knights play, he had
done some thinking. Instead of taking a team of older boys, he would see if
Kentburg or Meadow Park needed a coach of an eleven-and-under travel
team. As much as he hated Aiden Miller, the boy was obviously talented.
On top of that, he had improved his game tremendously since April.

One of his co-workers had a son who played for the Mayfield Dodgers. He
told Ned Estes about what a good little pitcher Coach Sanders' adopted
son had become. Estes told Ross Astor that he'd rather beat the little imp
who got him fired than some fourteen-and-under team coached by guys he
didn't even know. "Besides, younger kids are easier to handle," Estes said.
"You can make them do things that would make the older kids rebel.
Teenagers think their shit don't stink, which makes them all but
uncoachable."

Even after watching Aiden hit two line-drive ropes to left and a hard
grounder up the middle for singles, he refused to second-guess himself for
his April decision. If he had it to do again, he would still have told the boy to
not swing his bat. He acknowledged that might have changed as the
season progressed, but it was certainly the right decision back in April.

After the game, which the Knights won 17-1 in four innings, Aiden changed
in the parking lot. He was a bit embarrassed to be standing next to the
Odyssey wearing just his underpants, but he felt better when he saw
Russell wearing just as little as he changed out of his uniform. It was the
first time he'd seen Russell close to naked and he liked what he saw.

"I wish I knew you guys were going to undress," Mason whined. "I would
have brought my regular clothes with me, too."

"We have places to go, so we needed to change."

"Why didn't you change in the bathroom?" Mason asked. Not that he was
complaining. In fact, he was disappointed that his teammates didn't change
their underpants, too.

"Because this is quicker," Aiden said.

"And more fun," Russell added, which got him looks from both Aiden and
Mason.

Mason took off his uniform shirt after he got into the Odyssey. He had an
undershirt on underneath. He thought about taking off his uniform pants,
too, but decided against it, at least this time.

Russell was dropped off at a farm along Highway 12. His uncle owned the
farm and he planned on spending the day there playing with his cousins.
Mason was dropped off at his house, and then Aiden was dropped off at
Autumn's house. He grabbed his backpack, which had all of the work he'd
done on the social studies project he and Autumn were completing.

Autumn's mother had lunch ready when Aiden arrived. The menu was hot
dogs and potato chips, which suited Aiden just fine. He was worried that
the mother of a girl might cook up something loaded with spinach or some
other evil vegetable. His visit was off to a good start.

Autumn's father joined them for lunch, but her mother spent almost the
entire meal gushing over Aiden. She asked him about his grades (which
were excellent), about baseball (which was fun, especially since they won
their game that morning), and about living with two fathers (which he liked),
among other topics.

Her father had a few questions about baseball, but for the most part was
quiet. Autumn was happy that her parents liked Aiden. She had a gigantic
crush on the blond with the mop of unruly hair, although she didn't know
what her feelings really meant.

After eating, he and Autumn laid their project out on the dining room table
and went to work. Autumn's mother brought them milk and cookies after
they'd worked for a while.

"Thank you for the cookies, Mrs. Kellogg," Aiden said with all of the
politeness he could muster. He wanted his dads to get a good report on
how polite he was.

"I hope you liked eating oatmeal raisin."

"Yes, ma'am, they were very good." Aiden meant it, because they had been
delicious cookies. He was happy she hadn't made peanut butter cookies,
because he would have had difficulty eating those.

"You are such a polite young man," Mrs. Kellogg gushed. "Your fathers
must be very proud of you."

"He's real nice in school, too," Autumn said coyly. All of the sweetness and
niceness almost made Aiden want to upchuck his cookies.

Autumn and Aiden were finished by 3:30. "Is it a good project?" Autumn's
mother asked as they got everything organized.

"Mother, you know it is because Aiden and I did it," Autumn said in the
haughty manner pubescent girls seemed to master.

"I better call my dads to pick me up," Aiden said, happy that his time at
Autumn's house was at an end. While he'd had a better time than he
expected, it wasn't nearly as much fun as being at the house of one of his
friends. Not for the first time, he wished Gordy, Miles, Muddy, or Mason
had been his partner. They could have gone up to his room after finishing
and celebrated by getting naked and messing around a little.

"You're welcome to stay for dinner, Aiden," Autumn's mother said, flashing
a big smile.

"Thank you, but I know my dad is making pot roast for us tonight. My dads
are expecting me to eat at home."

"Well, maybe you can have dinner with us some other time."

"Do you want to see my bedroom before you go?" Autumn asked.

OH, FUCK NO! was the first thought to go through Aiden's head, but he did
what Phil kept preaching to him, and that was to ignore the first thought to
pop into his head. He usually wasn't successful, but this time he was. "I
guess I can take a quick look," he said insincerely.

Autumn grinned and led him down the hall to her room. Aiden could tell that
she wanted to take his hand, and he did his best to keep both hands close
to his body.

Aiden was surprised when he walked into the girl's room. He had been
expecting flowery blankets and wallpaper, with lots of dolls all over the
place. Instead, the room looked a lot like his. The bedcover was dark blue,
her walls had posters of men and women soccer players and of male music
stars. She had a lot of stuffed animals, including a tiger and two dogs on
her bed. He couldn't say much about that, since he had a stuffed donkey in
his room.

"Do you like it?" Autumn asked.

"It's a nice room. I better call my dads and get going." Aiden had been
impatient before being led to the room, and that impatience was growing.

"Shana says you boys are nasty at lunch."

"Shana is dumb." Aiden was tired of being a polite little boy. He was even
more tired of hanging around with a girl in her bedroom. Their project was
finished and it was time to get away from Autumn.

"Shana is my friend," Autumn replied defensively.

"I know, but she's still dumb."

Autumn ignored Aiden's insults so she could make her point. "I saw Muddy
being nasty. And Shana says you talk nasty."

"What did you see Muddy doing?" Aiden asked. He wondered if his friend
might have gone too far at the lunch table while the girls were hovering.

"He had his hand in his pants and was touching his thingy. Do you play with
your thingy?"

Aiden wasn't sure how to answer. He knew that whatever he told Autumn
she would reveal to Shana, and before anybody knew it, all of the girls in
the fourth and fifth grades would know he played with himself. So, he
elected to lie. "No."

"You're lying. Shana says all boys play with their thingies. I bet all your
friends do it. I know nobody told Muddy to stop doing it at lunch."

"How long were you watching him?"

"Just a little bit."

"Maybe his...um...thingy was stuck in his underpants. That happens to
boys."

Autumn shrugged. She was obviously getting nowhere with Aiden, so she
decided to step things up. "If you let me see your thingy, I won't ever bother
you or anybody at your table about playing with themselves."

"Do girls play with themselves?" Aiden asked, trying to shift the
conversation away from himself. He was surprised that his cock was
moving around in his pants like it was trying to get hard.

"That's none of your business."

Aiden was ecstatic—Autumn had given him a way out. "And it's none of
your business if I play with mine, either."

"Boys can be so stupid." Autumn looked deep in thought and then said, "I'll
show you mine if you show me yours."

If Aiden had been older and more experienced in the ways of life, he would
have realized that he'd just heard one of the oldest clichés in the world of
growing boys and girls. He was surprised that he wanted to take Autumn
up on her offer; he wanted to see what a girl looked like "down there."

He decided to pretend that Autumn was one of his guy friends and he was
in his bedroom. He started to move without thinking, reacting as he would if
Gordy or Miles were standing in front of him instead of a girl.

"You gotta show me, too," he said breathlessly as he pulled off his t-shirt
and tossed it on Autumn's bed. He then unbuckled his belt, opened the top
button on his jeans, and unzipped, revealing his white underpants. His
cocklet was rock hard, his two inches of steel producing a noticeable little
tent in the cotton of his briefs.

"I knew it," Autumn breathed as she pulled off her t-shirt, exposing her
torso. Aiden stared at the girl's naked chest as he pulled his jeans below
the bottom hem of his briefs. He was disappointed that her chest didn't look
any different than the boys he knew. He noted that she was wearing loose
fitting sweatpants.

Aiden wondered what to do next. Without thinking, he let his jeans slide
down to his ankles. "I knew you would take your pants off. I told you boys
were nasty."

Autumn's comment took him out of his reverie. He remembered where he
really was and who was standing in front of him. He bent down and quickly
pulled up his jeans, zipped, buttoned, and buckled, his heart beating
furiously as he realized how dumb he had almost been. If he'd dropped his
underpants, the entire school would know it before Monday even came
around. He never considered the fact that Autumn had taken her sweats off
and was standing in front of him wearing just her flowered panties.

"I really better call home," he muttered as he put his shirt on.

Aiden could feel Autumn's disappointment. He pulled his phone out of his
pocket and quickly hit speed dial. Phil answered the phone and said he
would be right over.

Aiden walked out of the room and grabbed his backpack. He couldn't
believe he came so close to being a stupid boy. He remembered the things
his dads kept drilling into him: "Pause before you do something" "First
thought—DON'T", and lots of other things like it.

As he thanked Mrs. Kellogg for lunch and for the cookies, Autumn came
quietly downstairs, once again fully dressed. She stood to the side and
looked out of the front window.

"There's one of your dads," she said. Aiden started quickly for the door, but
Autumn almost chased him to the door. "I'm sorry," she said.

Aiden stopped and looked at her blankly. "For what?"

"I don't know. I just am." Autumn could tell Aiden was upset, but she wasn't
certain why. She looked around to see if her mother or father was within
hearing distance. When she didn't see either of them she said, "I'm glad
you didn't do it." For all of her aggressiveness, seeing Aiden almost
stripped down to just his underpants made her realize that she had done
the same thing and that her parents were in the living room.

"Me, too," Aiden said sincerely. "Bye." And with that he opened the door
and was gone.

As soon as he got home, Aiden went to his room and stripped naked. He
booted his computer and checked on Marty's game. He was hit by a wave
of sadness when he saw that Marty had played his last collegiate game.
The Cougars were eliminated from the regionals by Pepperdine University
Waves, which he thought was a weird name for a college. The score was
7-2. Marty was one-for-three with a single and walk. He accounted for no
runs. Aiden wrote Marty an email telling him he was sad about the loss.

He then went downstairs, thinking about the incident in Autumn's bedroom.
For a moment he wondered what it would be like being naked in front of a
girl. He doubted it would be as good as being naked in front of a boy.

When dinner was ready to be served, Aiden surprised his dads by donning
a shirt and jeans. He didn't know why, but he wanted to be fully dressed for
dinner. Well, maybe not fully dressed—he wasn't wearing any underwear.
After dinner, he was once again wearing nothing but his socks.

His evening brightened up when he found an email from Marty in his inbox.
Marty reminded him that the Major League draft would start on Thursday.
"Only the first round is on Thursday," Aiden read. "Everybody thinks I could
get picked by the fifth round. The second through fifth rounds are on Friday,
so think good thoughts. There are some teams I hope I don't end up with.
But whoever ends up drafting me will get my very best efforts."

Later that night he was wearing underwear. He had his Seahawks boxers
on as he took Horace downstairs and took up his spot on his dads' bed.
The day had been long and confusing and he needed the loving comfort of
the two big, strong men he loved so much.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

On Monday, Autumn made sure that Aiden was with her when she turned
in their social studies project, but that was the extent of the communication
between them. Aiden wondered how much he should tell his friends about
what had happened in her bedroom on Saturday, but decided he would
keep his mouth shut if she kept her mouth shut.

The lunchtime talk was about baseball and the relief the boys in Mr. Knox's
room felt about their social studies projects being finished and turned in. It
had been the biggest school project any of them had ever had assigned.

"Did you really finish your project at Autumn's house?" Miles asked. His
partner had been Jack McLean—a lanky boy who was an average student
and played basketball. Aiden was the only boy in the little group who had
had a female partner.

"Yeah," Aiden muttered. He then went into one of the instant subject
changes that he thought worked so well with his dads. "I can't believe that
Coach is going to let Vance start tomorrow."

Vance was a fifth grader at Parkwood. While he'd pitched in relief a few
times, he had never started a game at pitcher. Vance could throw hard; the
only pitches he threw were hard and harder. As a result, his control wasn't
very good. As Larry liked to put it, "Home plate has a habit of moving
around on Vance." Not only were Vance's pitches hard, but so was his
head—he didn't react well to Coach Hallion's suggestions that he ease up
a little bit and improve his control.

Unlike his dads, Aiden's buddies didn't bite at his topic changes. "Did you
guys work in her bedroom?" Mason asked.

Before Aiden could reply, Shana came prancing by their table with Autumn
back in her role as Shana's shadow. "Boys!" Shana harrumphed. "I can't
believe you hang around with fourth graders," Shana said to the fifth
graders in general. "They are totally nasty."

"So are us fifth graders," Collin said, which got him a laugh from the rest of
the boys at the table.

"At least you keep your pants on and your hands off your thingies."

Aiden looked straight at Autumn, wondering what she had told Shana, He
could feel his temper rising in a hurry. Autumn looked at him and shrugged
her shoulders as if to say she had no idea what Shana was talking about.
The girls strutted away, but Aiden noticed that the distance between
Autumn and Shana had increased some.

"Why was Autumn looking at you?" Gordy asked Aiden.

"I didn't know she was," Aiden said unconvincingly. It was then that the
conversation shifted to baseball.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++

Since Larry had a meeting after school and Gordy had a dental
appointment, it was arranged for Aiden to stay at Miles's house after
school. "How long until you get picked up?" Miles asked as he and Aiden
entered his house.

"His meetings usually take an hour. I think it's a math teacher meeting or
something, not a regular meeting."

They saw Miles's twelve-year-old brother John and his friend Bryce were in
the living room playing a video game on the television. Their jeans were
strewn on the floor and they were both wearing long t-shirts. Aiden
remembered Miles's theory about John wearing long t-shirts with no
underpants under them. He looked at the jeans on the floor to see if he
could spot any underpants.

"Where's mom?" Miles asked.

"She had to stay extra at work. Now quit bothering me—I'm winning."

"But she's supposed to be here. She told Aiden's dad she would be here."

"Shit happens, so grow up and quit whining." John tapped his controller and
broke out into a grin. "I won again."

"You got lucky," Bryce complained. When he stood up his t-shirt shifted
enough that Aiden could see he had polka-dotted boxers on.

"You can use the TV. We're going to my room to jerk off," John told the
younger boys.

"Can we watch?" Miles asked.

"This is big boy stuff." John looked at Aiden, who was the smallest of the
four boys.

"Yeah, it's big boy stuff until you get horny at night and want me to suck
your dick," Miles groused.

"He is a good cocksucker," Bryce observed.

"I was horny all day at school. I want to jerk off without my little brother and
his littler friend around."

"You could have jerked off in school," Bryce said. "It's not like nobody ever
does it."

"Fuck you on jerking off in school, Bryce. I know you've done it—you and
Sammy have left more cum than piss in the bathrooms."

"Yeah, but Sammy does it in class, too. Even I don't do that."

The sex talk had caused Aiden's cock to stir in his pants. What John did
next completed the job of making him hard. The pubescent boy yanked off
his t-shirt, revealing a pair of gray and green boxer shorts with a very
obvious bulge tenting them out. The shorts were gone in a hurry, and John
was now naked with four inches of uncut preteen steel pointing up in the
air.

"Does this turn you little boys on?" he asked. Aiden noticed a very light
brushing of tiny hairs on John's pubic region. "Do you have little boners
now?"

"You're gross," Miles said, even though he was fascinated by the unbridled
horniness of this brother.

"Big fucking deal. You know you'd get on your knees and suck it if I wanted
you to." Miles knew his brother was right. Like Aiden, his little hairless cock
was rock hard. He started to get down on his knees when John turned and
started out of the room. "See you little sissy boys later."

Bryce, who was now naked as well, followed his friend. Aiden could see
that Bryce's erection was longer and thicker than John's and that he had
darker, thicker pubic hairs scattered around the base of his cock.

"You can be such a butthead," Miles yelled after his brother. "Shit!" he
yelled at nobody.

"He's a fucktard," Aiden said. "Were you really going to suck him?"

"Yep. I bet Bryce would have let you suck him, if John wasn't such a
butthead."

Aiden was noncommittal. He wasn't sure if he would have gotten down on
his knees and sucked the dick of a boy he didn't even know. It was hard
enough sucking his friends. He felt like he had in Autumn's bedroom on
Saturday—confused about sexual things. And from what he'd seen of boys
a little older than him in that mysterious state called puberty, things would
only get more confusing.

"If they want to be that way, we can go sixty-nine in my room," Miles
suggested.

"That's okay. I want to finish it if we do it, so we can do it some other time.
My daddy should be here soon."

"That's cool." Miles looked at John's clothes on the floor. "I better pick this
up so mom doesn't see it," he mumbled.

"Would your brother pick up your clothes?"

"No, because he's a giant...a giant...A GIANT FUCKTARD!" He yelled out
the last part loudly enough for the two older boys to hear. "But if mom
catches them doing sex, then maybe she or dad would say something so
me and John couldn't mess around no more."

Aiden helped pick up the clothes. He noticed a heady scent coming from
John's underpants which, for some reason, he liked. The two nine-year-
olds dropped the clothes in front of John's door, listened for a moment to
the squeaky bed and the moans emanating from the room, and then went
into Miles's room.

"We need to have a big end-of-school party," Miles said as they sat on his
bed. He was wearing cargo shorts which he quickly removed and tossed on
the floor.

"Who?" Aiden asked, his jeans joining Miles's shorts. He meant it when he
said there wasn't time to sixty-nine, but he didn't see any problem of getting
comfortable on his friend's bed.

"All of us guys at the lunch table, plus Trent and Rusty."

"That would be a great party," Aiden said. For some reason, Nolan popped
into his head. It would be even greater, he thought, if I could invite Nolan.
That was another weird thought that came out of nowhere. After all, he
hardly knew Nolan.

"It would be really cool if we could have a big overnight." Miles had
removed his briefs and dropped them on the bed. This was now going a
step further than Aiden wanted to go, so he left his briefs on, his still hard
cocklet pushing out the cotton fabric.

"You can take them off," Miles whispered. "If your dad comes, just put
everything on fast."

Aiden decided if he didn't take his undies off he it would be like he was
afraid to do things the way Gordy was, so his briefs came off and were
dropped on the bed as well. The two young friends enjoyed being naked
together, taking pleasure and looking at each other's little "nails."

"We should have it at your house," Miles said, returning to the subject of
the party. "You have the swimming pool, and the boat, and the basketball
court, and the whiffle ball field. You got the funnest place in the whole
town."

Aiden realized that Miles was right, and that thought made him feel good.
Even though he had been the one with the misgivings, Aiden pushed Miles
on the bed and a wrestling match broke out between the two half-naked
boys. Miles quickly ended up on top of Aiden and started humping his hard
little pecker against Aiden's. Sexual feelings made them both shudder—
they were getting closer to puberty than they thought.

Then the thing happened that Aiden thought would happen; the doorbell
rang. "Shit-fuck," Aiden said.

Miles groaned in disappointment and got off of Aiden.

"I told you so," Aiden said as he quickly pulled on his briefs.

"Don't forget to ask your dads about the party," Miles said. "And ask about
having a big overnight. And ask about skinny dipping."

The doorbell rang again as the boys pulled on their pants. They walked into
the hall in time to hear John moan, "Oh yeahhhhh, fuck me hard, Bryce,
FUCK ME, I'm gonna cum...FUCK ME HARD!"

"I think he cummed," Miles giggled.

"What were they doing in there?" Aiden asked. "It didn't sound like a BJ to
me."

"I dunno. I never heard them make that kind of noise."

They got downstairs and Miles opened the front door where Larry stood
patiently waiting. Aiden grabbed his backpack and jacket and came to the
door.

"We were in Miles's room," Aiden said to explain the tardiness at answering
the door.

"I'm sure you were having fun," Larry grinned, which, of course, had Aiden
wondering if his daddy knew what kind of fun. No matter, Aiden knew what
he would be talking to his dads about that evening.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Aiden ended up not discussing the party idea that night. Larry disappeared
into his office after dinner, working on end of the year tests and grades.
Aiden had learned it was not a good idea to disturb his daddy when he
closed the door to the office unless it was an emergency.

He could have brought up the subject with his dad, Phil, but decided it
would be better to bring it up with both of his dads at once. Instead, he
stripped down to his briefs and cuddled up with Phil on the recliner. They
read for a while and then Phil turned on the Mariners game. While they
watched, they talked about baseball.

"I can't believe Vance is pitching tomorrow," Aiden said. "We're tied for first
and we should be starting our best pitcher."

"You mean, somebody like you?"

"Or Trent or even Collin."

"Trent isn't eligible since he hasn't had enough rest since Saturday. Collin
is a pretty good pitcher. Vance might have the most talent of any of you."

"But everybody gets on base when he pitches."

"Well, son, I've coached some pitchers like Vance. Scott, who is now
coaching, is one who comes to mind. He threw hard, but he could be wild
and he could be stubborn about how to pitch. But, when he was on, there
were few pitchers at his level who were better."

"So you mean Vance might have a good game?"

"He's certainly capable of it."

"You got a game tomorrow, right?"

"Yes, I HAVE a game tomorrow, so I won't be at yours."

Aiden's right arm was falling asleep, so he adjusted himself in the chair.
"I'm glad we have the tournament, so you can watch me play some more."

They watched as Terry Cruz hit a two-run homer for the Mariners, talked
about that game for a while, and then returned to talking about the Knights.

"Answer me this, kiddo. How is it you play in a league where nobody cares
who wins and who finishes in first, but you know you're tied for first?" Phil
asked.

"The only people who say they don't care about winning and losing are the
adults." Phil smiled when he heard his son's astute observation. As far as
he was concerned, it was all too true. But obviously somebody cared, since
there was the postseason tournament, which would have an obvious
winner. He knew the reason, of course. The businessmen of the town
sponsored the tournament as a fund raiser for the Town Park's recreation
program. It was like an entirely different season from the twelve-game
regular season.

When Aiden was tucked into bed by Larry, he asked not to be read to.
Larry took the tucking duties that night because Phil and Aiden had done
some father-son bonding during the evening and he wanted Aiden to have
a little of his time as well.

The events at Miles's house, made Aiden feel horny, at least as horny as a
prepubescent boy could get. As soon as Larry left, Aiden grabbed his lotion
and quickly jerked off to a satisfying dry orgasm.

The baseball game the next day went as expected. Vance either walked or
struck out most of the opposing hitters, and when the ball was put into play
everybody was so bored that they acted like they'd never had to catch or
throw a baseball before. The Knights ended up losing 15-9 to the Kentburg
Wolves. The game was called after five innings because it had exceeded
the time limit.

Since the Wolves were one of the teams the Knights were tied with, they
dropped to third place in the final standings that nobody supposedly paid
any attention to. The Meadow Park Royals beat the Mayfield Dodgers that
evening to finish tied for first with the Wolves. Because nobody paid
attention to the standings, and because winning the recreation league
wasn't important to anybody, there would be no playoff game to break the
tie. The players on both teams were tremendously disappointed.

"At least everybody has the tournament to look forward to," Larry said to
Aiden and Mason, who were sitting in the backseat.

"We would have been tied for first if Vance hadn't started," Mason
grumped.

"You would have been tied for first if your team hadn't made seven errors
either," Larry reminded him. "No one player loses a game for a team. You
guys win as a team and you lose as a team."

"Yeah, but..."

"First, with all the pitchers you might need in the tournament, Vance will
probably be pitching again. I suggest you guys have his back."

"Yeah, but..."

"Maybe we should start talking about your play in the field and at the plate."
Larry hadn't really wanted to go there, considering Mason's limited abilities.
But, sometimes, no matter what the talents of a player, it was necessary to
have the kid take a realistic look at what he did or did not contribute rather
than coddle him because of his limitations.

This time, Larry did not hear a, "Yeah, but..." He found it interesting that
Aiden had kept quiet throughout the brief exchange.

Aiden and Mason bumped fists when they arrived at his house. Larry
popped the trunk so Mason could get his backpack. "Don't forget to ask
your dad," Mason said before closing the door. Miles's idea for a party had
been the main subject of conversation during lunch that day. However, all
of the fifth graders except Collin had gone back to sitting at the fifth-grade
tables.

Once again, Aiden didn't bring up the end-of-school party. He didn't know if
it was because it didn't seem like the right time, or if it was because he was
afraid to bring the idea up. He decided that either way, he needed to cuddle
up with his dads. After taking care of his evening's needs, he went
downstairs with Horace instead of calling down from upstairs to be tucked
in.

As he fell asleep in the warmth of the space between his dads, their love
was confirmed to him. Tomorrow, he would ask about the party. Even after
nine months of living with his dads and even after being adopted by them,
on occasion he still had to confirm that what he had was something that
wouldn't be taken away the next day, or the next week, or the next month.
Sleeping with Larry and Phil confirmed that they would always love him and
want to keep him.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

At lunch the next day, the talk was about baseball and about the party that
Aiden still hadn't brought up with his dads. The boys agreed that they
should have played better and won the game to finish tied for first. Aiden
promised to ask about the party that night.

Just before leaving the lunchroom to go outside for intramural softball or
whatever else the boys in the group had planned, Autumn walked up to
their table. She stood behind Aiden, who started to blush.

"Do you need something, Autumn?" Gordy asked.

"No, sorry." She turned and walked back to her own table.

"I think she likes you, Aiden," Miles said.

"So? That doesn't mean I like her," Aiden grumbled.

"Aiden has a girlfriend. Aiden has a girlfriend," Mason almost sang in his
beautiful boy soprano.

"Shut up. I hate her."

"Are you sure you didn't go with her in her bedroom?" Collin asked. Aiden
glowered at him.

"Nail," Muddy said, squeezing his cock inside his pants, breaking the
tension as the boys, including Aiden, enjoyed a good laugh. Muddy was an
easy-going boy and knew how to lighten up a difficult situation.

After dinner that evening, Aiden asked his dads about having the end of the
season party.

"Is this for the entire team, or just for a select group of friends?" Larry
asked.

"Just my friends. Coach Hallion is going to have a party for everybody. It
will be fun, since he has a swimming pool, too." Larry and Phil knew about
the plans for that party and had volunteered to help with it. They just
wanted to make sure Aiden had everything straight.

"Tell us again who you're inviting," Phil said. Aiden told him who was on his
party list.

"Everybody wants it to be our first big overnight," Aiden said. He figured his
dads would okay with the party, but this was where things would get a bit
dicey.

Larry and Phil went back-and-forth with Aiden over the plusses and
minuses of a big sleep-over, both for him, for his friends, and for
themselves. Aiden just wished they'd shut up and make a decision.
Sometimes his dads would yack way too much.

"Your dad and I want to discuss this alone for a few moments," Larry said.

"Why? You just gotta say yes or no." Aiden was starting to lose patience
with his dads.

"We just want to make sure we're both on the same page."

Aiden was ready to toss out a four-letter word or two, then remembered the
pause and first thought rule and kept his mouth shut. It was a close call—
one of the major reasons he kept his mouth closed was that his behavior
was not yet under the control of unfettered hormones coursing through his
veins.

Instead of cursing, Aiden walked out on the deck, clad in his dinner garb:
Mariners t-shirt, red briefs, and white socks. He sat on one of the
cushioned chairs and sulked. He kept wondering why his dads had to make
such an easy decision so difficult.

Finally, Phil opened the sliding glass door. "You didn't have to leave the
house, you know."

"Maybe I wanted to," Aiden said petulantly. He got up and stomped into the
house.

"You know, if you want us to say no to your request, you could just say so
instead of giving us all the drama." Aiden scowled and plunked himself on
the overstuffed chair by the window.

Like Phil, Larry was about to tell Aiden to forget having any kind of party
and to spend the evening alone in his room—without his TV or computer.
Instead, he decided to use the situation as a teaching tool and try to help
the sometimes stubborn preteen deal with working through his emotions.

"We're going to go through this step by step," Larry said. "First of all, unless
you decide otherwise, we approve of you having a big party for your
friends. There was no doubt about that in our minds, but I think you knew
that. The issue is you having your first big overnight."

Aiden felt relieved on hearing the first part. He also understood that he
might not get his way with the overnight and that if he lost his temper he
would also lose the privilege of having any kind of end of school party.

"My math says you plan to have seven friends over—two of them fifth
graders."

Aiden nodded.

"I have no problem with the two older boys coming over, but I'm not sure
about them staying overnight."

Aiden knew he had to speak up. He understood his dads well enough by
now to know they would listen to him if he kept his temper under control,
which wasn't always easy for him. He did what he'd been taught by both his
dads and his mentor, Marty—pause, breathe deeply, then talk quietly.

"Dad, they aren't really old like Sammy and them. I mean yesterday was
Trent's eleventh birthday and Collin was eleven just a few days ago. I'm
almost ten and Miles and Muddy are already ten, so it's not a big
difference. And they don't act all stuck up because they're older like some
guys do." He was thinking of Russell and Luke, who acted cool when they
were all together on the team, but were hard to figure out at school. Their
going from being friendly to ignoring the fourth graders at school was the
reason they weren't invited to the party.

"You're making a good point," Larry said. Aiden let out an audible sigh of
relief. "We know Trent and his family pretty well and know he's a good kid.
And Collin's been nice to you boys even before you ended up on the same
baseball team. So if they want to come we're good, and if they want to
spend the night with you little fourth grade monkeys, we're good with that,
too."

"We're not monkeys," Aiden protested. Then he stood up and started
jumping around the room, scratching his ribs and underarms while trying to
sound like a chimpanzee with his high-pitched voice. Phil and Larry got lost
in laughter—the tension was gone from the room.

"So, the overnight is okay?"

"Yes." Larry replied.

"Yippee." Aiden hopped around some more, and then bent over and
dragged his knuckles on the ground, his perky little ass stretching out the
back of his briefs. "When?"

"After school is out and the baseball tournament is over."

"The tournament is this weekend."

"Maybe you should check the weather forecast more often, especially as an
aspiring baseball player," Phil told him. "The forecast for the weekend is
three days of rain."

"Oh," Aiden muttered quietly. "It always rains when school is about over."

"You got that right," Phil laughed. "And that goes back to the days when
your daddy and I were your age."

"So what happens if it gets rained out?"

"We're working on plans," Larry told him. "It all depends on getting fields to
play on." Larry was the head of the tournament organizing committee and
would be the tournament director. It was the first time he's done volunteer
work for the Park Recreation League since he'd coached middle school.

"But, I can still invite everybody, right? And then tell them we'll have to wait
to find out when the party is."

"That is correct," Phil replied. "And you invite only those boys we talked
about, unless you clear a change with us first."

Aiden sat on the love seat next to Larry and planted a kiss on his cheek.
The texture of his daddy's whiskers felt strange on his lips. "Thanks,
daddy." He then went over to the couch and did the same to Phil. "Thanks,
dad. You're the best dads in the world, and I'm sorry I got snarky."

"Snarky?" Larry asked.

"Yeah. I think it means being stupid to your parents."

The three finished up the evening together with a game of Scrabble. Aiden
then went up to his room and stripped naked. He could have done so
during the Scrabble game, but it didn't feel right. Sometimes being naked
with his dads felt right, and sometimes it didn't. This time, it didn't.

Aiden looked through the Major League baseball scores, read a message
from Marty, who said he would be in Mayfield in the next day or two and
would make sure they got together, and sent a message to Gordy and
Miles telling them that the party was on and he'd say more in school the
next day.

He took care of his evening business and called to his dads that he was
ready for bed. Phil and Larry came up to say goodnight, and Larry
remained to tuck and read. When the lights went out, Aiden closed his eyes
to sleep. He was a happy boy. His last thoughts before falling asleep was
of him and his friends sleeping together naked.
