Tony was the first one out of the car.  He was at the door in a flash, and

mom and dad.  The adults sat at the picnic tables, and chatted, while we

"We just wanted to asked you about you and Tony," he said.  "We just wanted
to know if you are going to be okay with him not being here all the time.
We know the you and Tony are in love with each other, and we just wanted to
make sure that you are going to be okay."

Now there was an interesting thought.  Mom and dad knew about Tony and me,
which, I think is okay, but dad did say something that just happened to grab
my attention.  He said that Tony and I were in LOVE with each other.  I
never thought of being in love with Tony, but was I?  I love being with
Tony, and doing things with him, but am I in love with him?  I love him
being my best friend, and I love the thought of me being his.  Now, I had to
think about this.  I really don't know if I'm IN love with him.  Yes, I love
him, but I think I love him as a very dear and very sweet and caring friend.
I just don't know if I'm in love with him.  Man, the things that are going
through my head right now.

"Arren, are you alright?"  Mom asked.

"Huh?  Oh yeah, I think so," I said.

"Is something wrong son?"  Dad asked.

"I don't know.  It's just what you said," I said.  "You said that Tony and I
are in love with each other."

"Yeah, so," dad said.

"I don't know if I'm in love with him or not.  Don't get me wrong, I love
him alright, but I don't think that I'm in love with him," I said.

"But we thought that you and Tony were lovers," dad said.

"Oh, we are," I said.  "I'm just not sure that I'm in love with him, like
you are with mom."

"So, you two are gay then?"  Mom asked, smiling.

"Yes, we are," I said.  I didn't want to lie to my mom or dad.  I love them
way too much for that.  "But, this is a little confusing."

"Yes it is.  Look Arren," dad said.  "I don't care one little bit that you
are gay.  All I want for you is for you to be safe and happy.  If you find
someone that can do that for you.  Then I'm going to love them just as much
as I love you."  Dad then hugged me, and kissed me on the top of my head.

"And that goes double for me too," mom said, and then she hugged and kissed

I hugged them for a long time, and we talked for well over two hours.  Mom
and dad told me to be very careful about whom I told about me.  Just like
Ronald, they didn't want someone to start trouble with me, which would end
up getting very ugly.  We talked about safe sex, and how everyone who is
