Chapter 25 - What a Time in Our Lives

With the party starting to wind down and everyone thinking about heading for

After all the work was done and the garage doors were working with a push of
a button, we told Mom and Dad that we were coming to get the car.  Dad told
us that he would drive it up to us, but I was going to have to take him home
again.  I told him that he was the best Dad in the whole wide world and I
told him to drive carefully so that we could hug him when he got here.  Dad
showed up about two hours later.  The garage was big enough to hold our van

Over the next few months, Grandpa and Grandma moved in with Mom and Dad.

they had in Arizona.  Grandpa and Grandma Conders told me that they didn't
want more then they could handle and wanted a smaller place to care for.  I
asked Grandpa what he did with all his stuff, like the car he was restoring.
He told me the he put an ad in the paper and sold it.  I was hoping that I
could ride in it after it was finished, but I guess that will never happen
now.  Grandpa told me that he got a very good price for it and the guy who
bought it was going to finish restoring it.  I was thinking that guy was
most likely going to make a lot of money for that old car.

I asked Grandpa if he could show us how to build a Bar-B-Q like the one he
had down in his old place.  He said that he would be more then happy to show
us how he did it.  He told me what we would need and I had everything
delivered to the house so that Grandpa could show us how to build our new
Bar-B-Q.  Isaac and I invited him and Grandma to come and stay with us in
our house if they wanted.  Grandpa came up, but Grandma wanted to stay with

us do it.

On Thursday, November 24, 1994, everyone met at Andy's parent's home on the
west side of the city.  They live about 12 miles from us, so it really

wanted to try a little piece of all the pies, when they were ready to be

hoping to sneak some home, but once people experience her pies, they just

Grandma just out did herself with her pies this year and there wasn't any
pumpkin pie for me to take home.  Isaac liked all of the pies and he was
hoping that we could get Grandma to make us another one.  We asked her and

some other food to take home with us, like some Turkey for sandwiches for
later.  Turkey sandwiches are always good the next day.  We had a very nice
time this year with the entire family.

On Sunday, December 18, 1994, Karen gave birth to a baby boy.  Andy and
Karen named him, Peter, after Andy's father.  He was six pounds three ounces
and very cute also.  Isaac and I went to see the new baby in the hospital;
he was staying in Karen's room with her.  I got to hold him, but the only
thing he did was sleep.  Isaac sat down to hold him and was smiling the
whole time he did.  I asked Karen when Andy wasn't in the room, if she was
going to have him circumcised and she told me no.  She said that she loves

right address and the right amount of postage.  He was just not going to

love that we could offer him, but he decided to just throw it all away.

Saturday, December 31, 1994, Isaac and I just stayed home and cuddled in

Year.  Mom and Dad asked us if we wanted to go to a New Years party with
them, but Isaac didn't feel much like going to a party, so we just stayed
home.  Maybe next year we'll go, we'll just wait and see what happens when

As we looked back over the past year, I was pretty sure that the next year
was going to be even better.  I know that it had to be good, because I had
MY Isaac with me.  We also had a new baby in the family and my Grandparents
were now very close, so if I wanted to hug them, it would be a lot easier to
do now.  I knew that Isaac wasn't happy that his father wasn't talking to
him or me and I was hoping that he would just accept us, but it didn't look
like that was going to happen anytime soon.  I would do what ever I could to
make him happy and he knew that I would love him forever.  I knew that he
loved me and maybe one day his father would come and see us and tell him
that he loved us, time will only tell.
