Chapter 9 - December highs and lows. October 2002

December is always a very busy time for us, but even more so now that I was
also serving as acting-superintendent. Not only are the winter sports
programs in full swing, but there are also the special programs and
concerts that are held at that time of year, which only add to the
confusion. Another thing is that, as superintendent, I am expected to
attend as many of those activities as possible. When you place those types
of demands on my time, on top of my seasonal family obligations, such as
Christmas shopping, attending various parties and social functions, and
planning for our own Christmas celebration, it was nearly overwhelming.

On top of all that, Cody's treatments began at the beginning of the month.
The first thing the doctor did was to collect some good blood and bone
marrow cells from Cody's body, cells that he could use later, to
reintroduce them back into Cody's body. He would do this to try to
encourage Cody's body to replicate these good cells, and create more, thus
replacing all the damaged cells the chemotherapy would destroy. Once all
of these good cells were harvested, they would be frozen until needed, and
that wouldn't be until Cody's chemotherapy treatments had been completed.

I'm not sure exactly what I thought chemotherapy meant, but I guess I
thought it meant that Cody would be taking large amounts of pills, which
contained drugs that would kill the diseased cells. However, that wasn't
the case. The drugs were administered through a needle, and they were
injected directly into the space around the spinal column. I'm sure it was
as painful as it looked, though Cody endured it like a trooper, merely
flinching slightly and making a low whimpering sound as it was done. His
courage amazed me more and more every day.

At first Cody showed no signs of side effects from the treatments, but soon
that changed. It was hardly noticeable in the beginning, but Cody did get
tired very easily after that, but what I didn't know was that he was often
nauseated and frequently vomited, something he never informed me of. I
only found this out by accident, when one evening I walked by one of the
bathrooms and heard someone puking, so I went in to see who it was, and if
I could help. That's when I discovered it was Cody who was going through
this, and he was slumped over the bowl, as the contents of his stomach were
retched into the porcelain depository.

"Cody, are you all right?" I guess he hadn't heard me enter, and he jumped
a little when I spoke, then he rolled his head to one side, looking at me
from over the edge of the toilet bowl.

"I'm fine. You don't need to worry."

"But that's part of a father's job, to worry about his children. Is this
the first time this has happened like this?"

"Not really. It's happened before." He was looking back down into the
toilet bowl, as he answered me, but I wasn't sure because he felt another
wave of nausea approaching, or he just didn't want to face me and answer my
questions.

"Why didn't you ever tell me about this?"

"There was nothing you could do to help, so I didn't want to worry you."

"Like I said, that's part of my job, and I want...no, I need to know what's
happening with you, especially now. So will you fill me in on what's been
going on?"

"Okay, but it isn't that much. I've been throwing up once in a while, but
not very much. It's just my stomach gets all upset and I know I'm going to
barf, but I didn't want anyone else to know. I'm sorry, if that wasn't the
right thing to do."

"It's okay, Cody, but please let me know everything in the future, no
matter how small or insignificant it seems to you. Okay?"

"Yeah, it's okay, and I'll tell you from now on."

After that, the two of us went down to the family room to watch some TV and
talk some more, and Cody crawled up onto my lap, and cuddled up against my
chest. "Are you comfy?" I asked him.

He just tilted his head up and grinned. "Now, I am," he told me.

This made me determined to give him as much attention as I could, while he
was going through all this, as maybe it would help him to endure it better.
He certainly seemed content like this, and maybe that's what he needed.
He'd been lacking a father-figure all of his young life, so maybe this
would put him in a better psychological frame of mind and help get him over
the hurdles he'd be facing along the way.

Over the next few days, Cody told me a few other things that had changed,
like the fact that he seemed tired much of the time. I told him that was
probably due to a combination of things, including the chemotherapy and his
body adjusting to the elimination of the diseased cells. I told that
should improve over time, but that we'd call the doctor and mention these
things to him, just to make sure. Reluctantly he agreed, giving in to my
judgment concerning this matter.

When we got in touch with the doctor, he told us not to worry about either
the vomiting or tiredness, as those were normal reactions to the
chemotherapy, and he said we'd be ready to inject Cody's healthy cells back
into his body shortly after the first of the year, probably at the end of
January. I thanked him for his help and the information, and then I passed
that along to Cody as well. He seemed pleased to learn that he might get
though all of this that quickly, as I think he believed it would take much
longer than that. I also told him that he would be able to enjoy the
holidays, before that phase of his treatment began, so maybe he wouldn't be
so tired or nauseated at that point. He pondered what I said for a few
minutes, before he let the issue drop completely, but now he knew a little
more about what he'd be facing and when.

We spent a great deal of time together during December, as the boys would
accompany me to see one of the school concerts or holiday plays, and
sometimes some of their brothers were in those too. Besides that, we'd
also go to watch a basketball game or wrestling match, or go to watch the
girls' volleyball team play, but most of those were fun to do. It was a
very busy time, but something we managed to squeeze in, especially the
concerts. We all seemed to be especially fond of those. There's nothing
better than watching a bunch of little kids sing Christmas songs, or having
a community sing along, where everyone would belt out a few holiday songs.
It was particularly enjoyable when you were standing there with all your
boys, enjoying the spirit of the holiday season, and singing the lyrics of
some of your favorite carols. I get such a special thrill out of that,
each and every Christmas season, and I hope that memory dominates my
thoughts when it comes time for me to take my final breath on earth,
because there is no better memory than of those times.

My only problem with the holiday season is that every year it gets harder
to figure out what to get the boys. I try to be practical with their
presents, not wishing to spoil them or provide them with any and everything
they desire, and this year was more difficult that any time before it. I
was at a loss as to what to get them as a special gift, even after asking
for suggestions from the boys themselves, and talking it over in detail
with Jake. Each day, as we got closer to Christmas, this troubled me more
and more, and I wondered if this would be the year they only got clothes
and a few small items from me.

It was now December 23rd, and I still had no idea about what to get them,
even knowing I would have only one more shopping day after today. That
night, after many of the boys had headed up to bed, I sat down with Jake to
discuss this further. We were kicking around ideas and weighing our
limited options, when I heard the fire whistle go off. I was hoping it was
only something small, like a kitchen fire, or small brush fire, but when a
second alarm when off a few minutes later, I knew that wasn't the case. I
raced to my bedroom, where I had a scanner that I used very seldom, and I
turned it on, to see what was happening. What I heard shocked me. It was
a house fire, and the home was fully engulfed. I gleaned what bits of info
I could, from listening to those conversations, and then I heard the local
fire department was asking for support from two other nearby communities.

I had to go see if there was anything I could do, and I asked Jake to join
me, so we got into the van and headed toward the address we had heard
mentioned earlier. When we arrived there, the house was already beyond
saving, and all the fire department was merely trying to contain the fire,
and keep it from spreading to a small shed and a small barn that stood
nearby. I learned later that the barn housed a few animals, and the shed
was used to store some of the owner's tools. As I looked around, I notice
a group of people huddled together, off to one side, and I immediately
recognized them, as three of my former students and their parents. I went
over to them, to see if there was anything I could do to help, but they
were completely distraught, having just watched almost everything they
owned go up in flames. It would be bad enough at any time of year, but I
soon discovered that this was far worse, as all their unopened Christmas
presents had been destroyed by that quick-moving fire too.

"I'm so sorry," I told them, "and I hope you will allow my family and me to
try to help and make this better." They all turned toward me as I spoke,
but their father was the one who responded.

"Mr. Currie, thank you so much for your offer, but I don't know how you're
going to be able to help after this. We just lost our home, almost
everything we owned, and even a couple of our pets were killed in that
fire. I'm just thankful that the dog alerted us to this situation, and I
was able to get my family out safely."

"I'm very thankful for that too, but do you have any place to stay
tonight?"

"I've heard some people talking about putting us up in a motel tonight, but
nothing is definite at this point. I'll just have to wait and see."

"Then you and your family will stay with us tonight. We have plenty of
room, and the boys will double up, to make room for you. Your daughters
can share a room, we'll put your son in another, and you and your wife will
take my room."

"Oh, no. We could never do that."

"You will. I insist. It is not that much, and we will be happy to do that
for you. Tomorrow we'll check around and see if we can find you something
more permanent, at least until you know what you're going to do. Was the
house insured?"

"Yes, but I doubt it will be enough. I haven't updated the amount of
coverage in many years. Basically, it's covered for what it was valued at
about fifteen years ago."

"That's not surprising. I'm sure that happens to many people, but at least
you will get something out of it. We'll help you find a way to cover the
rest. You know I have many contacts, and I'll use them all, if I have to."

"Thanks, Mr. Currie. You've always been really nice to my family. I know
my kids think the world of you."

"As I do of them. They were always a pleasure to have around. Now,
everyone hop into my van, and we'll take you to our home. If there's
anything you want to bring with you, grab it now, and we'll be on our way.
I'll let the fire chief know you're going with me."

"Thanks, but there's nothing left to take. All we have is what we're
wearing, and these blankets the firemen gave to us."

"Okay, into the van then, and Jake will start it and turn the heat on,
while I let those in charge know you're going with us."

While Jake was helping the family into the van, where they could warm up, I
searched out the fire chief and a police officer on the scene, to let them
know I was taking the family to spend the night with us. They said that
they had all they needed from them, and that would be fine, and they also
thanked me for doing that. I merely responded that it was the Christmas
season, and I was making sure there was room at our 'inn' for this family.
They smiled in acknowledgment, and I went to join the others.

When we got home, we put the family in the family room, while we moved
people around, and Jake moved some of our things into other rooms. I was
going to spend the night with Cody and Graham, while Jake was going to stay
in with Shannon and Nick. I was sure that pair would be more upset with
the intrusion than the two I'd be staying with, but Shannon was Jake's son,
and I knew he wouldn't tell his father no. Some of the other boys doubled
up too, so we put their son in Kevin's old room, as he was in with Vinnie,
and the girls took Nick's room, and the parents were in Jake's and my
bedroom. From that point on, it was a very peaceful night.

I figured I'd spend my evening on one side of the bed, with Cody and Graham
snuggled together, but that's not quite how it happened. I had been in bed
for only a few minutes, before Cody snuggled up against my side, with his
arm draped across my chest, and then Graham cuddled up behind him, with his
hand touching my chest too. When I looked down at Cody, I could see him
smiling up at me, even in the faint glow of the moonlight, as it filtered
into the room, and I could see Graham was grinning too. Maybe they
discussed this briefly, after I asked if I could stay with them for the
night, but neither seemed bothered by my intrusion. I had picked this
pair, because I wanted to spend some extra time with Cody, and I realized
they came as a pair now, and not separate individuals any more. I was also
glad that Cody wasn't going to have to go through this totally alone.

I really didn't sleep much that night, as I tried to watch these two and
see how they seemed to be holding up and getting along together. It was
evident they were more than just boyfriends. These two were committed,
inseparable, and they spent more time concerned for the other person's
comfort, instead of their own. At various times I saw one or the other
wake up, and not realizing I was also awake, they would fuss over the
other, doing things like using their fingers to brush the hair out of their
partner's eyes or off their forehead, or by kissing the other sweetly on
the cheek or forehead. Having done that, they would then cuddle back
against the other, and soon drift off to sleep again. Most of the night
they spent in each other's arms, though Cody had given me some of his
affection too, but there was no way I wanted to interfere with what they
felt for each other.

The next morning, I sat down with the parents, while their children were
still sleeping. They told me how they had done all their Christmas
shopping, and everything was in the house when it went up in flames, and
their biggest worry was about how this would ruin the holidays for their
kids. I told them not to worry, as I had that all figured out, and I'd
explain that to them, as soon as we had eaten our breakfast. As soon as
they were served, I took Jake aside and asked him to do some things for me,
and he agreed, and then we went in and sat down to eat also. Once all of
us had finished breakfast, Jake told the parents to get ready, and he'd
take them shopping, and we'd pay for everything with my credit card. They
began to object, but we cut them short, telling them that we wanted their
children to have something nice, during this time of loss and disaster.
They finally gave in, though they promised to pay me back, and then that
group disappeared.

I also left for a short time, to check on a few things I had thought of,
while I lay awake the previous night. When I returned home later, I
rounded up our three young guests and took them shopping too, so they could
buy something nice for their parents. We left before Jake and their folks
returned, and I told the boys to tell their parents that they were just
helping me run some errands, and then we went to find something
appropriate.

I had told Jake to let the parents spend about a thousand dollars or so,
guiding them to buy the kids both new clothes and things to entertain them
with too, as they needed almost everything at this point. I wanted the
children to have some toys and such things to help them enjoy themselves,
because we weren't just trying to help them have the basics, but to also
regain a bit of normalcy to their lives. I basically told the kids the
same thing, telling them to pick out some clothes for their parents,
especially some winter jackets, but we also bought them a few other items,
like some jewelry for their mother, an electric razor for their father, and
a television that they all would get some use out of later. When we got
back home, both groups looked happy, but also a little sheepish. I knew
they were pleased about what they had been able to do for each other, but
they were all a little dismayed that they had to rely on our generosity to
accomplish this. However, I was sure they'd get over that, as soon as they
all saw each other open those gifts.

Now I got everyone together again, loaded them all into the van, and I
drove them out to a place I knew about. I had called the owner earlier,
and then went over and picked up the key from him, so I could see if it was
something the family might be interested in. I knew this place had been
for rent for some time, and it had been vacant during that entire period,
but I thought it might do the trick. Even though it wasn't in the same
locale as the house that had burned, it was a roomy four-bedroom home. It
was older, and not very fancy or modern, but it wouldn't be all that
different from their old house. I hoped they might find it suitable, until
they could get their insurance money and then make their own arrangements.

As I walked them through the house, they talked amongst themselves, saying
who could have which room, or what else they might do to spruce it up, so I
had the feeling that this would suffice for them. When they were done
looking around, they thanked me for showing it to them, and then the father
wanted to talk to me about how they'd afford to pay for this. I told him
not to worry, as I was going to have the Castaway Foundation pay the first
six months rent for them, and the foundation would also pay for them to get
some furniture, to make the house livable. I told them I had also arranged
for them to go to the local furniture store, to pick out beds, a living
room and dining room sets, and then we'd take them to a local retail store,
to pick up every day dishes, silverware, bath linens, bed linens, some
cookware, and a few basic appliances. They all continued to thank us, as
we went from place to place, and the only problem we encountered was that
the furniture couldn't be delivered for two days, until the day after
Christmas. I told them they would stay with us until then, and celebrate
Christmas with our family. They began to balk, but I told them it was
useless, and they gave in once again.

It just happened that my older children had come home for Thanksgiving this
year, so they would be spending Christmas with their in-laws. We had
already made arrangements for us to all get together on the third weekend
in January instead, and we'd celebrate our Christmas with them, at that
time. It couldn't have worked out better.

Christmas eve we also got a phone call from Ricky, as it was already
Christmas day there. He was excited and wanted to wish us all a Merry
Christmas, but he also wanted to thank us for our gifts. He had waited
until today to open those gifts, not only because he didn't want to be
without presents to open on Christmas morning, but he also wanted to share
his excitement with his family. We were happy to hear from him, and
everyone spoke to him individually, and we also filled him in about our
houseguests. He made some sort of comment that he would have guessed we'd
have done something like that, and then he asked me to pass along his
heartfelt sympathy over their loss. I told him I would do that, and then
we said good-bye.

Christmas morning was a great deal of fun. I think our guests were shocked
that we didn't really overdo the present thing, as they considered us rich,
and they were surprised to see that the boys all chipped in and bought only
one gift for each brother. I think they were also surprised to see that
they had as many gifts to open, if not more, than we did. It was wonderful
to see the expressions on their faces as they opened each gift, or
commented on something one of my boys had unwrapped, and we all had a great
time doing it. Besides the clothes and a couple of special items each boy
had asked for, I included one other present for each of them. Although I
didn't have these items, as of yet, I gave each of them an envelope,
explaining what their extra gift was.

"In light of recent events in our community," their letter read, "my last
present to you is one of safety. Knowing most of your bedrooms are on the
second and third floor of our house, I have become suddenly aware of the
risks involved, if we were to find our home in flames. Due to that fact, I
have purchased chained link ladders for each room on the upper two floors,
and our carpenter will be building a nice box under one of the windows,
where this ladder will be stored and anchored, for emergency use. The
bedrooms on the first floor will be equipped with easy to open, swing out
emergency window, to make sure no one will get trapped inside, should we
ever have a fire. These devices are to be used for emergencies only, and
aren't meant for you to use to sneak away for secret sexual encounters or
other such activities. This gift is from the heart, and because I love you
all, and I want to do everything in my power to make sure nothing ever
happens to you. Love, Dad/Pop"

Although many young people might not have thought this was a suitable gift,
my boys realized my intent and thanked me for making sure that they would
be safe and have a way to escape, if we ever had something happen to our
home, as had happened to our guests. Our guests were also quite moved, and
the father told me he planned to do the same thing for his family, though
he hoped they'd never have such a thing to them again. I agreed, but we
both knew it was better to be safe than sorry.

After that was over, we prepared for the big Christmas meal, knowing our
guests would be arriving in just a couple of hours. As Jake and I set
about getting everything ready, the mother came in and insisted on helping
us, so we let her do her thing too, doing wherever she thought she could do
to help. When the meal was served, we said grace, thanking God for making
sure that none of them were injured in that fire. Then their father asked
to add his own blessing, and he thanked God for making sure there were
people in this world, such as us, who were there to help others in their
hour of need. Then he told us personally that we had helped to prevent
this from being the worst holiday they had ever had to endure.

The rest of the day was spent relaxing, and talking with our guests, and
letting them get better acquainted with the Spences, the Shays, and Sally.
I could tell the boys felt really good about helping this family, as they
spent time with the kids, playing games with them and entertaining them
until nearly bedtime. It was enjoyable to watch, and I could tell my boys
were proud that we were able to do something to help them. Before we went
to bed, I set up a plan of action for the next day, as we had things to
accomplish before they'd be on their own again.

After our guests went to bed, we got together some supplies for the next
day, so we'd be ready to go as early in the morning as possible. After
everything was set, I sent the boys to bed, because we'd have to get up
fairly early and there was going to be a lot for all of us to do, before
that day was over. The boys were very good natured about what I had asked
of them, and they even seemed excited about it too, so I knew I could trust
them to pull their own weight, when the time came.

The next morning, we all got up early, ate breakfast, and then we loaded
everyone up, in either the van or the suburban, and drove to the house we
had rented for this family. Seeing it had been vacant so long, it needed a
good cleaning, so we pulled out all of our supplies, went into the house,
and everyone went to clean the room or rooms they had been assigned. The
family also split up, to go with some of my boys, with the wife in the
kitchen, directing the placement of the dishes, utensils, and appliances we
had purchased, as well as the cleaning process to be done in there.

The husband focused his attention on the living room and dining area, while
the kids primarily concerned themselves with the room that would be theirs,
once they moved in. The cleaning went quickly and quite smoothly, and the
wife was just going to check the bathroom and put away the towels and such,
when the delivery truck from the furniture store arrived. The larger, more
muscled members of the group went out to assist the driver and his
assistant, by helping carry things into the house and to set up the beds,
once they were in the appropriate rooms. Soon the furniture store
employees left, but we finished getting everything in its proper place, and
then we said our good-byes to our new friends, wishing them the best of
luck, until they decided what they would do permanently.

Before we left, they thanked us several times, and each of their children
went and thanked each of my boys, Jake, and me separately, letting us know
how much they appreciated all of our help. For us, it was really just a
chance to practice the true meaning of Christmas, helping someone less
fortunate or in need, and not merely giving your family members more things
that they really didn't need in the first place. Later my boys would look
back on this experience and tell me that it was the best Christmas they had
ever celebrated. It sure makes you feel good inside, when you've been able
to help someone else, especially someone who really needs it.

Over the next week, we checked in on that family a couple more times, and
they seemed to be doing very well in their new home. They were happy,
settled in, and getting used to remembering where they were. As the week
came to an end, we prepared for our New Year's Eve celebration, which
wasn't going to be all that big this year. We planned to go out to dinner,
and then to a movie, before we returned home, to bring in the New Year
together. We'd do that by toasting each other with a little wine, a
special treat I let the boys partake in each year. The younger boys would
be allowed one glass each, while the older boys would be allowed a little
more than that, depending on their age and level of maturity. Those who
had love interests were told they could also invite them to join us, so a
couple of girls were going be with us also, but basically, this would just
be a family outing.

Ricky called us before noon on New Year's Eve day, to wish us all a Happy
New Year. They had already entered the New Year in Australia, and he was
really calling to gloat that he had beat us to it. He asked what we had
planned, and we told him, and then he told us what he had done. He had
gone to a small youth celebration, held by the school he was attending, and
he had received his New Year's kiss from Kylie at midnight. When I asked
them if that was all, he merely replied, "wouldn't you like to know", and
then he giggled and evaded answering the question directly. Instead, he
talked about his travel plans for January, and reminded us that he'd be
home within a month, and we told him to have fun, be careful, and to hurry
back. He agreed, and that's how we ended that conversation.

The day passed quickly, and soon it was time to leave. We had 6 o'clock
dinner reservation at our favorite restaurant, as we hoped to get in and
out before the rush. It was really a very good meal, and everyone had
ordered whatever he or she wanted from the menu. I had also ordered
several appetizers for us all to share first, and I also had the kitchen
set up several bowls of green salad, so everyone could have as much as he
or she wanted. After that, we went to a cinema complex, where we all split
up and went to see an assortment of different movies. Jake and I went to
see the "Two Towers", the second part of the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy,
and some of our boys went with us. Cody and Graham let us know immediately
that they were going there too, and Cody also let me know that he wanted to
sit beside me as well.

We moved up to the last row of the small stadium style theater, because if
I sit too close to the screen, everything seems to spin on me. Jake sat to
my right, and Cody to my left, with Graham on the other side of Cody. Soon
the lights dimmed, and the previews started. Jake and I were pretty
conservative in public, not even holding hands when we were out like this,
but I saw the boys holding hands with each other. Shortly after that, Cody
leaned over against my arm, resting his head on my shoulder. I was touched
by this move, and I began to feel that Cody needed his father very much
right now. Maybe it was just that he hadn't had one for so long, or maybe
it was because of what he was going through with the leukemia, but he
seemed to need me more now, than any of the others. I lifted my arm and
wrapped it around his shoulders, and he looked up at me and smiled, letting
me know that he approved of what I was doing.

Soon he had moved over, and sat on my lap, seeming to need my attention
now, rather than Graham's. When Graham noticed this, he moved over into
Cody's seat, so they could still hold hands, but he wasn't upset by what
had happened. I think he understood that Cody wasn't rejecting him, it was
just that he needed something else right now, a protector, to make him feel
safe and secure. When he needed a lover or someone to bond with on that
level, Graham knew he'd be back, so he gave him his space, and allowed him
to do what he needed. I was very proud of Graham, and impressed by his
maturity.

The movie was excellent, and we all enjoyed it immensely, and when it was
over, we all went to the lobby, to meet up with the others. Some of us had
to wait for quite some time, until the other movies were out, but they had
a game room where the boys could amuse themselves while they waited. When
we were all together again, we headed home, to bring in the New Year. Our
guests stayed with us for that also, as we had planned that earlier, and
secured their parents' approval for them to have a little wine too. Once
we got home, we turned on the TV and tuned into one of the national
celebrations, so we could see what they were doing and to celebrate with
them. I went around and filled up each person's wine glass, as midnight
drew nearer, and when 12:00 hit, we all toasted each other and wished
everyone the very best New Year.

We celebrated a little longer, having a little more to drink, and then Jake
took our guests home, as we had promised their families. After our guests
had left, I encouraged the boys to head to their rooms, but I knew there
would be a little more merry-making when they got there as well, but that
was to be expected. I was young once, and remembered the first sex of the
New Year, so I wouldn't try to discourage them from doing much the same
thing. Some of the pairings I expected, like Cody and Graham, Vinnie and
Kevin, Danny and Brandon, and Trey and Dion, but others came as a little
surprise to me, like Shannon and Nick getting together again, and Sammy
spending the night with Cole. Andrew had conked out shortly after
midnight, as he hadn't been feeling very well, and I think Sammy needed
some company, and maybe some relief. Nick, however, was another story
entirely, and he seemed to be spending most of his time with Shannon now,
and I began to wonder if Shannon had found the secret to tame Nick of his
wandering ways. Whatever the reasons, that is what happened, and no one
complained the following morning.

Although I could probably tell you about what happened in every room, I
will focus on just a couple of those pairings. The first would be Cody and
Graham, because they are so devoted to each other, so cute in their
innocence, and kind of unusual in their approach. Let me explain what I
mean. After they got to their room, they kissed a little and started to
undress each other. Once Graham had removed Cody's underwear, he raced
down the hall to the bathroom, leaving Cody to think he really had to go
very badly. When he came back, however, he was carrying one of the
electric razors we kept for the older boys to use, and Cody kind of blushed
when he saw what Graham had. Graham plugged it in, turned it on, and then
he had Cody get on the bed, so he could remove what little hair Cody had at
this point. Cody's pubic hair was very blond and hard to see, but Graham
seemed determined to remove it anyway. When he was done, you would have
guessed Cody to be about two years younger than he actually was.

I'm not sure if it was a turn-on for Graham or not, but he did seem to
enjoy shaving Cody's pubic region and scrotum, and Cody had to show me the
next day, so I could see exactly what Graham had done. For some reason,
Cody didn't return the favor, and instead they began to make out. They
kissed and groped for a while, before letting their hands wander all over
each other, checking out all of the areas of interest to each of them.
When he couldn't stand it any longer, Graham slid down and began to lick
that freshly shaved region on Cody's young body, including licking his
young, cut rod like a lollipop. After giving the entire area a
tongue-bath, he began to run that stiff piece of flesh in and out of his
mouth, like a young child might do with a Popsicle he was enjoying. It was
obvious that Cody was really relishing this type of attention, as his young
manhood responded quickly, soon giving up its meager supply of thin, watery
cum. Once he had savored his orgasm, he swung his body around, so he could
do the same thing to his partner.

Of course, Graham's body didn't give in so quickly to Cody's ministrations,
as Graham was a little more experienced at being able to delay his orgasm.
That didn't seem to be a problem, however, as Cody didn't seem to mind
having to do a little more work. Eagerly he devoured Graham's firm
sausage, and he began to pump up and down on it with his lips and tongue.
Soon he had Graham sighing and moaning, so he knew he must be doing it
right, and then he let his hands began to play with Graham's sac and watery
orbs, bringing him even more pleasure. He really had Graham squirming on
the bed at that point, when Graham's floodgates opened, and he let his
cream flood Cody's mouth and throat. Cody did his best to take it all
down, but some did escape his lips and dribble back onto Graham's crotch.
When they finished up their session, they cleaned up and cuddled against
each other, and they looked like two little angels, when I checked in on
them in the morning.

The other pair I wanted to focus on was Kevin and Vinnie. Kevin had been
hurt many times in his few years of falling in love, and I wanted to make
sure that didn't happen yet again. Kevin had been hurt by Dustin, when
Dustin decided he liked girls more than guys, and he had been hurt by Nick,
when he discovered Nick couldn't be faithful to just one guy. After that,
he fell in love with Brent, who was killed in an automobile accident, so I
hoped this situation would last, and he wouldn't have to suffer through yet
another relationship that didn't work out for him.

They had retired to their room, which was the only other bedroom on the
first floor, besides the master bedroom, and I think the touch of grapes
had made the pair of them even more affectionate than they normally were.
They were both a little giddy, and very playful tonight, and more than a
little frisky. Vinnie, who can be quite aggressive at times, was more than
anxious to take control this evening, and Kevin decided not to fight him
for control. Instead, he let Vinnie know that he was surrendering himself
to him, so to speak, and he got on his back, pulled his legs up to his
chest, and pretty much showed Vinnie his prize.

Vinnie didn't need any further invitations, and he quickly grabbed the lube
and greased both of them up, ready for the ultimate act of love. Now he
moved into position, slowly eased himself into his lover, and then he
mimicked a rabbit in heat, machine-gunning his way to ecstasy. It was over
more quickly than Kevin had hoped, though Vinnie kept pumping in and out of
him even after he had deposited his load, but soon he lost his erection and
there was no way for him to continue. After collapsing for a few minutes,
giving himself time to recover and also savor the moment of sexual relief,
Vinnie let Kevin know he'd be able to enjoy the same pleasure, by getting
into position to return the favor.

Kevin went a little slower, trying to use longer and less rapid strokes,
and he slid in and out of Vinnie for several minutes, before his juices
began to boil and rise in his shaft. Once he exploded and released his
load, the pair cuddled and enjoyed their lasting highs, and then they
repositioned themselves and prepared to enjoy the rest of the evening,
lovingly embraced in each other's arms.
