So sorry about that. ******************************************************** I wake with a start I can't remember my dream but I look at my clock 6:59am. Time to get up. I go through my morning routines and jump on my bike and head to school. As I pull in the back entrance to school Jordan is lying on the ground with Taylor towering over him. **************************************************************** My insides turn to stone, and my knees start to feel weak. Now all scared feelings turn to white hot anger. I charge over to Taylor just in time to see Jordan jump up and throw a roundhouse kick to his bloated stomach. I slow down and come to a halt beside Jordan everyone was in a shocked silence. I look at Jordan he is as white as a sheet. I place my hand gently on his shoulder he grabs my hand and twists it behind my back. Before he can do any more he realises it is me. He quickly lets go. "Cody! I'm so sorry! Are you okay?" He asks sounding ashamed. "I'm fine Jordan. What happened?" I ask worriedly. "Can we talk somewhere more... You know. Private?" He asks quietly. "Um yeah, come on lets go" I say hurriedly. I grab Jordan's hand and lead him to Mr Meyer's classroom. Mr Meyer is my P.E teacher and he is the best. We get to his classroom and I tell Jordan to wait here. So I run off to the P.E office to find Meyer. Once I get to the office Mr Meyer is just leaving. "Excuse me Mr?" I say loud enough for him to hear. At this school there is only one male PE teacher and you don't need to call teachers by their full name. Just Mr or Miss works. He spins around on the spot "Hey Cody what do you need?" "Um my friend just got into a fight and I need to talk to him in private. Do you think we could use your classroom?" I ask pleadingly. "Yeah sure bud, what's his name?" He asks. "Jordan, Jordan Ericson" "Oh yeah here are my keys. I'll put you both down as present on attendance." "Thanks! You're the best" I say thankfully. "Just leave the class unlocked and the keys in my top drawer." "Ok thanks again." I run back to Jordan and unlock the door then lock it behind me so we don't get any interruptions. As soon as I turn around Jordan sits on the couch and I sit beside him and pull him into a loving hug. He starts to sob into my shoulder. We just sit there for twenty minutes and he finally stops sobbing. "What happened love?" I ask softly. "h-h-he j-j-just c-came over t-to me and bowled me ov-v-ver" He says quietly. "Then he started calling me a fag and told me to go back to wellington." He whispers then bursts out in tears again. "Maybe I should go back, all I am doing is causing trouble here." He sobs. "Jordan Ericson, listen to me" I say then I grab his chin and force him to look at me. "We will get through this TOGETHER okay. TOGETHER, you are the best thing that's happened to me in a long time and I don't want to lose you. You are sweet, extremely cute and funny. So don't you ever say that again." I say fiercely. I then put my hands on the back of his head and kiss him hardly yet passionately. I break the kiss and look deep into those beautiful blue grey orbs. "I never want to lose you" I say softly. He just nods, I pull him into a close hug. "By the way, how did you learn that?" I ask quizzically. "Back in Wellington I was a Black Belt in Karate." He says quietly. I am shocked. He sure doesn't look like a Martial Arts type of person. "Why did you stop?" I ask. "Because it got boring" He says. "You're good!" I say with praise in my voice. "Thanks babe!" He says blushing. There was a soft knocking on the door. Jordan looks at me in question. So I get up and open the door. Standing there is Mr Meyer so I let him in. "How's it going guys?" "Good, by the way Mr this is my boyfriend Jordan. Taylor tried to beat him up but lets just say Jordan knows how to put people twice his size in the ground." I say smiling. Mr Meyer just looks at me in surprise. "So you two are a couple?" Jordan then pipes up and says "Yep he is the best boyfriend in the world!" Then he looks at me smiling warmly. "Who else have you told?" Meyer asked. "Just my Mum, cousin and now you!" I said. "I'm honoured, you two make a great couple. And if you ever need anything please don't hesitate to ask." He says warmly. "Thanks Mr!" We say in unison. "That's okay boys, but you probably should head off to second period." He says. "Yes Mr." We say in unison. "See you fourth period Cody" Meyers yells after me. "You to Mr!" I yell back. We both walk to Science hand in hand. Once we get there the class is only just going in so we rush to the door. The first week of science was the basics of practical science and then theory. Jordan and I took our usual seats at the table. "Today we are going to be burning magnesium over a Bunsen burner. So I want you to choose your lab partner that will stay with you for the rest of the year." Mr Boyce says loudly. Jordan and I instantly look at each other and smile. By the time the period was over we had successfully burnt magnesium metal with a bright flash of light. 4th Period rolls around and we have PE. David is in my PE class so I get to spend time with him. Today we pair up and practice serving for volleyball. "Hey Cody?" He asks after serving it to me. "What's up?" I ask after serving it back. "Do you think you should be hanging out with that Jordan kid?" He then serves it back to me. I catch the ball and hold onto it "How do you mean David?" I ask politely. "Well he seems to be getting a bit close to you. If you know what I mean?" "What the hell David?" I say angrily. "Right I'll just say it. He might be a fag." He says in a matter-of-factly tone. "And you would care because..." I say politely. "Because he might try and come on to you" "WHAT THE HELL DAVID." I hiss. "Come on Cody you see how he acts around you." "What if he is gay huh? What if I'm gay huh?" I say angrily. "Are you?" He asks "Why would you care?" I ask in the same angry tone. "You are aren't you! You're a fag!" He says sounding pissed off. I charge towards him and spear tackle him to the ground. "GET OFF ME YOU GAY PIECE OF SHIT" He yells. Mr Meyer must have seen the conversation and pulls me off David. I kick and scream. Mr Meyers drags me to the gym foyer. I can hear David from the gym yelling "CODY IS GAY!". One of the class goody goods run out through the foyer "I'm going to get Mr Bailey" He says in a gleeful tone. I just sit there in shock. A million thing were rushing through my head. Mr Bailey is the Deputy Principle. He is more anti- gay than Dad. I hear Mr Meyer come in. "I'm going to get Jordan Cody. What does he have this period?" He says quickly. "Art, he has Art." I say with no expression in my voice. "My class is unlocked go wait in there. Now." I just stand up and walk to his classroom. I must have been there for all of about 2 minutes and Jordan comes bursting through the door with tears flowing down his face. "Oh Cody! Are you okay?" He asks worriedly. "No not really" I say again with no expression. He just sits there and hugs my what seems to be lifeless shell. Why would David just throw away a 12 year friendship just because I'm gay? The whole school will find out and we will be beaten up. I am brought back from my thoughts when the door bursts open. Mr Bailey is standing there with a triumphant look on his face. "We are going to the Rector!" He says in mock excitement "NOW!" Oh Shit. Jordan and I walk to the office hand in hand with Mr Bailey leading us. We get to the rectors door and he opens it. "Look what I found! Fags!" He says gleefuly. Mr Allan just looks at us in surprise then that turns quickly to hate. "Call their parents. Now." He says calmly. "And you two, in my waiting room." We both sit on the couch in the waiting room. 10 minutes later we see the parents running in and Mr Meyers following. They hug us and then they go into his office without saying a word. Mr Meyers smiles weakly and goes in to. There is a lot of yelling going on. I hear a loud slapping noise. By now I feel better because Jordan is here. Half an hour later the parents and Mr Meyers walk out. Mum has tears running down he face and runs over to us and pulls us both into a deep hug. "Boys, I have some bad news." She says quietly. "You have both been expelled from this school." She says looking at us with tears still running freely "Because of your sexuality. And Mr Meyers has been fired because he supports gay rights." Oh Shit. I pull out of the hug and run over to where Mr Meyer is standing. "Oh Mr! I'm so sorry!" I say crying. "Don't worry about me Cody. I'll find another job somewhere." He says wearily. We say goodbye to Mr Meyer and we pile into our respective cars. Jordan comes with us and we meet Jordan's Dad at our house. When we get home Jordan's Dad introduces himself properly. His name is Aaron. Mum starts the conversation "What are we going to do?" "I have no idea" Aaron, Jordan and I say in unison. This sets off a giggle from all of us. "Hold on Mum. What if we go to that school in Queenstown, you know that one that Ruby teaches at?" I ask. "We cant just move up there you know." Mum says exasperatedly. "Yeah but Ruby lives in a massive house and we could board there!" I say excitedly. "Who's Ruby" Aaron asks. "Ruby is Cody's godmother and her husband Jack is his godfather. They don't have any kids and they love Cody." Mum says. "And she teaches at a school up there?" Jordan asks. "Well yes and no, she is the principal. And it isn't an anti-gay school. By any means." Mum says. Truth be told she is the most awesome adult next to my Mum, she doesn't know I'm gay but she will have no problem with it though. "Would you go to that school Cody?" Aaron asks. "Hell Yes! I-I mean yes." I say embarrassed by my language in front of a guest. Aaron just laughs at me "Don't worry about your language around me son." "Would you go to that school Jordan?" Aaron asks. "Yes! Only if Cody does!" He says excitedly. "You boys, why don't you go and play PS3 while us adults talk about it." Mum says politely. "Okay!" We say in unison. So we walk to the lounge and turn on the PS3. We put in GT5 and try to do a multiplayer race. But neither of us can concentrate. I am getting thirsty so I ask Jordan if he wants a drink. He does so I tell him to wait there. As I get closer to the kitchen I hear Ruby's voice. I walk in and see that they are on Skype. "Hey Ruby!" I say excitedly. "Hey Codes!" She says back. "Hey Mum can we skype her on the TV so we can all talk to her?" I ask. "Do you mind Ruby?" Mum asks. "No not at all!" She says. "We'll call you back soon. Kay?" "Yep" She says. I run to the lounge and change the TV to skype. "Hey! What are you doing!" Cody asks. "Skyping Ruby!" I say excitedly. "Okay?" He says. I set up the camera and click on her contact. She picks up on the first few rings. Her picture shows up on the screen. "Hey Guys!" She says. "Hey Ruby!" I say. By now the parents are here. "Ruby this is my Boyfriend Jordan, Jordan this is Ruby the best person in the world. Equal to Mum!" I say. "Nice to meet you Jordan." She says. "Nice to meet you too Ruby." He says politely. The conversation goes on for a few minutes. "So you boys want to come to my school aye?" "Yep!" We both say in unison. "Well the school is technically full, but since I make all the rules there is room for you two!" "Cool, thanks!" I say excitedly. "Now living arrangements. Do you boys want to stay at the school hostel or live with Jack and I?" She asks. "Would you mind if we stayed with you guys?" I ask. "No not at all babe. Do you two want a separate room or the same?" She asks with a smile. "We'll share!" We say in unison. "Okay then! I will be down to pick you boys up tomorrow, is that all right with you?" She asks. "YAY!" I reply. Jordan and I just smile at each other. I pull him into a hug which then leads into a loving kiss. "Ohhh to cute!" Ruby says. We both just blush. "Well I see you all tomorrow then!" She says excitedly. There was a chorus of goodbyes and then she hung up. Today is Monday so we only have to wait till tomorrow until she takes us up! YAY! We spend the rest of the day slouching around home until Jordan has to go home. No matter how hard we try Jordan has to go home and spend his last night at home for a while. Mum and I had a pretty casual dinner and she promised that she and Aaron would come up in the weekends. That night I slept perfectly knowing that we would be safe in Queenstown. The Morning came fast. I awoke to Jordan jumping on my bed and then kissing me on the lips. "Morning babe!" He says excitedly. "Hey love." I say groggily. "Get up Ruby texted your Mum and she is in Winton! So get up!" He says in that same excited tone. I look over at my clock it reads 10:03am. Well this is the first decent sleep in I have had in a long time. So I get up and jump in the shower. After my quick shower I grab my bag and drag it all to the lounge. Mum is sitting at the table talking to Aaron and I plop down in a chair beside Mum. "Morning Honey, do you want some breakfast?" She asks. "Um what is there?" "Well I just made French toast and bacon if you want some?" She asks. "Hell Yes! You are the best!" I say happily. "I try." She replies. Once I wolf down my breakie I find Jordan watching TV. I walk over to him and kiss him hard. "You taste like French toast and bacon." He says sweetly. "Duh! That's what I just had!" I say exasperatedly. We share a laugh. I hear the doorbell ring. Ruby must be here, so I race to the door and open it. "RUBY!" I yell and pull her into a deep hug. Ruby is about 5cm shorter than me, has long brown hair and deep blue eyes. She is a little larger than most people but that adds to her character. "Cody!" She says hugging me back. Jordan must have followed me down the hallway and stopped just behind me. We break our hug. "Jordan get your ass over here!" Ruby says sternly. Jordan walks over shyly and Ruby laughs and pulls him into a hug. She has always done that to people she likes. She pulls Jordan's head down and whispers something in his ear. He just nods. I am confused but think nothing of it. She come in and hugs Mum and Aaron. They talk for a few minutes. "Aaron and I both decided to put $200 a week in for you looking after the boys and for food." Mum says in a business women like tone. "No you won't! I have enough money and it's a joy to have kids in the home! Put that money into the boys eftpos accounts for them to spend!" She exclaimed. "Okay then. But boys buy something for her at the end of the term. Okay?" She said sternly. "Don't bother!" Ruby says. "Just do it!" Mum tells us both. Ruby looks at her watch "Well we better head off if we want to make it back in time to show you boys around!" Ruby says. "Okay then. Cody be good and help Ruby with anything. I love you both." She says. "You do the same Jordan." Aaron says. "And I love you both as well" He adds. "Love you Mum, you to Aaron." I say. "Love you too Karen and Dad" Jordan says sweetly. We give them both a hug and kiss from each of us and we get in Ruby's car. Ruby has a pretty flash car partly because she is Principal and because they have no kids. We pile into her orange 2011 Dodge Charger SRT, as she starts up you can hear the loud rumble of the engine. Ruby and Jack have three cars. The Dodge Charger (Ruby's), Audi S7 (Jack's) and their pride and joy... Maserati Quattroporte (Both of theirs). You might wonder how they get the money. Well Jack is a very high up accountant, and he earns top dollar and Ruby is the principal of a rich private school. We blast out of the driveway and drive to Queenstown. We both are sitting in the back and Jordan is snuggled up to me and we start to fall asleep. We both wake up a few hours later we have arrived in Kingston. Kingston is the last town before Queenstown and before the twisty turny Devils Staircase that leads around the edge of Lake Wakatipu (Pronounced Wok-A-Tip-Ew). We get out to stretch our legs and walk into the café to get some lunch. We are back on the road after sharing a couple of bowls of hot chips. The sun is shining off the lake and into our eyes. I have been around the Devils Staircase many times, but this is a first for Jordan. I am now immune to the twisty road; Jordan is starting to go a bit green. "Um Ruby I think we need to pull over, Jordan looks like he's gonna chuck." I say calmly. `Okay pulling over right now bud, try not to get it in the car. It will make us all want to throw up." She says. I lead Jordan out of the car and instantly he throws up. I grab him and lower him down; I hold his hair back so it doesn't get in the way. He spews again, this time it goes on my shoes. I don't care I can wash them later in the lake. He throws up a couple more times and then he is done. Ruby and I help him to the edge of the lake so we can clean him down a bit. The water is Lake Wakatipu is ice cold because all the water in the lake is pretty much from the snow off the mountains around the lake. Once we finish cleaning him up he is ready to go. So we get back in and drive slowly. Ruby lives in Kelvin Heights, the rich residential part of Queenstown, so just before the bridge we turn off and go up a steep hill. Once we get up the hill we drive for a few minutes before we come to Ruby's house. It is massive! It is made of plaster and shingle (Shingle is the type of rock that is found near Otago lakes and rivers) it is beautiful. She pulls into the garage and we go inside. The interior is modern and has a `Floating' staircase and massive windows that give you a great view of the lake. We go upstairs to our room, it has a queen bed and loads of space. There are two MacBook Pro's and a big desk for home work. On one wall there are roof to floor windows that have a great view. Once we get our stuff unpacked into our walk-in wardrobe we go downstairs and we find Jack is here. "Hey Jack!" I say. "Hey boys! I got the rest of the day off so I can be with you guys!" He says. "Yay!" I say excitedly. "So you must be Jordan?" He asks. "Yep I'm Jordan, Cody's boyfriend." He says politely. Jack reaches out to shake hands. "So I was thinking, do you guys want to go out on the boat?" He asks smiling. "Hell Yes!" We both yell in excitement. So we talk to Jack for a few minutes and then he leads us down to their private wharf. There are three boats parked there. The Bayliner Ciera, the Haines Hunter and Buffy. Buffy is an old wooden boat that Jack has redone himself. "Boys I can trust you two, can't I?" "You sure can Jack!" I say. "Good, now if you two want you can use the Haines Hunter for your personal get around craft. Now promise me that you will not break it!" He says smiling. I am surprised at this. "Now if it gets low on petrol there is a fuel station over at the marina in Frankton, and please keep the radio equipment on just in case we need to tell you something or find you." He says seriously. "We will, we promise!" We both say happily. "Ruby and I only use the Bayliner now so we don't need to use this one anymore." He says. "Thank you so much Jack. You are the best!" I say. "Right I'll teach you how to use it then you boys can go off and play." "Sure!" We say in unison. For the next hour we learn how to use it, and where to dock it at the Queenstown and Frankton Marinas.
