GROWING UP SEXUAL - chapter XXII - by Dave MacMillan

Okay - legal stuff: This is all fiction folks - there ain't nobody living
or dead who has been made a character in this tale. Unfortunately, the
thought police like to pretend that they're helping you by closing off your
reading - so, if you're under 18, don't read - Nifty could get into
trouble. If you're a bigot, Pat Robertson is looking for you. And this
story, all 22 chapters of it, is my intellectual property. It may not be
recycled without my express permission.

I hope you're enjoying the continuing exploits of young Vic and his friends
in Soul GA. Let me know. Hell! Give me your comments, your compliments,
and your complaints at vichowel@aol.com.

I hadn't been hot and bothered about having a boyfriend when Lindy,
Broughton, Joe, and I went out to Auntie Clyde's the first day of school.
There were so many boys who'd become interesting in the past year or two
and there was a sense of new freedoms now that I was in high school; I just
didn't think I wanted to make the commitment to Broughton or anybody. And
I sure as hell didn't want to feel the pressures I watched girls putting on
boys they were dating. I absolutely refused to put a ring in my nose and
let them lead me around like that.

Only, Broughton had sure meshed with me perfectly there in the hayloft of
the barn. I'd never had better sex. He had the equipment to keep me
satisfied the rest of my life - as long as he continued to use it the way
he had in Clyde's barn.

I was close to re-think my opinion of a relationship after Ronnie Varnadore
dropped me off at the house before taking Joe to the parsonage.

I was so into the completeness that our sex had been that I didn't even
wonder that Clyde had sent Joe and Ronnie out to the pool and had Broughton
come inside. I didn't even think about the fact that Ronnie had driven us
home or how withdrawn Joe Phillips had been on that ride. It was all
Broughton Bennett's dick and how it made me feel when it was inside me.
And it stayed that way until I finally fell asleep that night.

I didn't suspect that anything had changed until I left the house the next
morning and saw Ronnie's car at the curb, waiting for me. "What's up?" I
asked as I slipped in beside him.

"Broughton asked me to take you to school."

I forced a smile and thanked him. We drove in silence, but I caught Ronnie
glancing over at me a couple of times. I tried to figure out the new
ground rules now that they had so obviously shifted away from where things
were only yesterday; but, the more I thought about Broughton and me as well
as the whole scene at Clyde's yesterday, the more confused I became.

At school, Joe was obviously avoiding Lindy and me. Lindy was avoiding Joe
and me. Things were strange, and I was confused.

Charlie Howe smiled at me as I sat down beside him in Colonel Justice's
room. "Thanks for yesterday," he whispered just as the bell rang.

"It's going to be okay," I whispered to him out of the side of my mouth
while keeping my face pointed towards the front of the room. Colonel
Justice had left me with the idea that he was a stickler for the rules, and
I had learnt how to play them to my advantage in the 8 years I'd already
spent in school.

I'd just opened my locker after third period and stuffing a couple of books
inside when the door slammed on my wrist. I yelped.

The farmboy with the brain of a retarded amoeba shoved his face into mine,
grinned, and pushed harder on the door. "You ain't got your buddies around
to protect you this time, niggerlover," he hissed. "We're going to have a
little talk about what you ain't going to do in this school."

I saw red. I didn't even think about it. My knee shot up and found his
crotch. His legs were spread just enough that I got a perfect hit.

His eyes bulged as both hands dropped to cover himself. His face was red
as he began to sink to the floor. "Bastard!" I hissed and pulled my hand
out of my locker. I slowly moved each finger to make sure it wasn't
broken. I didn't like the blue impressions on my wrist where the locker
door had slammed into me, but I figured I was okay. I picked up my books
for the next class and turned to walk away. The farmboy had finished
rolling on the floor and managed to get himself up on his knees. If looks
could kill, I'd be at Weeks' Funeral Home already.

Coach Arthur was standing there, grinning from ear to ear. "I think you
boys better follow me," he said.

* * *

As I sat in front of the school secretary's desk, I tried not to listen to
what was going on behind Coach Arthur's closed door. My wrist was sore and
beginning to swell. My lower arm and hand down to the first knuckle was
flaming red except for the blue spots where the locker door had dug into
me.

"What did you do to get the coach all worked up?" she asked.

My hand throbbed. I groaned slightly. The secretary came out from behind
the counter and looked at my hand. One look and she went back to her desk
and called the school nurse to the office.

I heard a loud splat from behind the door and a choked off groan. Another
splat came immediately on the heels of the first and a hoarse cry. The
nurse came in and stopped in front of me. "Let's see that hand," she said
just as another splat hit behind the closed door.

I held it out for inspection and it started to throb big time. The nurse
held my arm at the elbow and moved my hand around a little. Her lips
pursed. "Your mother's the hospital administrator, isn't she?" she asked
and I nodded. She turned to the secretary. "Call his mother and tell her
I'm bringing him over for an x-ray-" She turned back to me. "I don't think
you've got any broken bones, but it's better to be safe."

While the secretary dial mum, the nurse walked around the counter to Coach
Arthur's office. She didn't knock; she just opened the door. "This boy
out here may have a couple of bones broken, Mr. Arthur. I'm taking him to
the hospital for x-rays."

I saw the farmboy leaning over the coach's desk and Coach Arthur's board of
education reared back like he was some big-league baseball player up to
bat. I shuddered. That paddle looked as big as a school bus in his hand.

"You stay just like that until I get back," he told the farmboy. He
followed the nurse back out to me. "You hurt?" he asked.

Numbly I showed him my hand. He mumbled something under his breath and
glanced back at his office. "How did that happen?" he growled.

"He slammed my locker door on it and held it there hard."

"Is that why you kicked him in the nuts?"

I nodded.

He turned to the nurse. "Get him to the hospital now." He turned to the
secretary. "Excuse him from the rest of his classes today." Finally, he
turned back to me. "This won't happen again. That boy's butt is going to
be so black and blue he can't even walk when I get through with him."

* * *

Mum took one look at my hand and got me back to x-ray without even saying a
word. I didn't say anything either. I'd never seen my mother angrier than
she was as we walked down the corridor.

A couple hours later, it had been decided that I had a couple of small
bones in my hand broken. I also had a cast that went from my knuckles
halfway up my arm. I was already beginning to itch before it had dried.

"I don't like that neanderthal-" Mum grumbled as we drove towards home.

"Who's a neanderthal?" I asked.

"You'd better forget what I just called Coach Arthur," she chuckled. "And
don't you dare ever call him that or you'd be getting what that boy got
this afternoon." I nodded.

"So, you kneed him good?" she asked and I blushed. "Vic, you have every
right to defend yourself. If that means you crush some bully's balls to
make him leave you alone, then you do it and I'll be right there cheering
you on."

"I didn't even think, Mum. I just did it. He was hurting me that bad."

"You did the right thing, Vic. And I told Coach Arthur that. If he can't
control his cretins at that school, then you're going to have to defend
yourself - and I'm not about to sit back and let Arthur wear your butt out
for doing what he's supposed to do."

"You told him that?" She nodded. I wasn't sure I ever wanted to go back
to school then. Coach Arthur would probably be waiting for me to make a
mistake, his board of education just itching to get to know my fanny.

* * *

The next day, I rode to school again with Ronnie Varnadore. Only this
time, he didn't head off towards the upper class entrances. He walked
beside me to the 9th grade door where we met Broughton and Lindy waiting
for us. Together, the older boys escorted me and Lindy to Col. Justice's
room. They made sure that everybody saw them too.

"That should settle that," Ronnie told me quietly at the door. "If anyone
does anything to you or Lindy, they do it to us as well." He winked at me.
"You won't have any more trouble."

I entered the room and, as I was sitting down beside Charlie Howe, I saw
out of the corner of my eye the farmboy standing up against the back wall.
I was surprised that Col. Justice didn't tell him to sit down.

As we started for 1st period, the farmboy pushed his way quickly up to me.
Lindy, Joe, and Charlie even more quickly surrounded me with Richard and
Billy moving to join us fast. Up close, I saw the kid had two black eyes
and that his lip was swollen.

He shuffled his feet and looked down at them, suddenly tongue-tied. He
finally took a deep breath. "I'm sorry, Vic. I didn't mean to hurt you-"
He gazed at my cast for a moment and took another deep breath. "It won't
happen again - not me or any of my friends."

"It's okay," I told him and surprised myself by doing so. He just stepped
away then, not answering me.

"What happened to him?" Charlie wondered aloud.

"I'd say his daddy reinforced what Coach Arthur and the board of education
taught him yesterday," Richard offered deadpan.

"But he was beaten," I mumbled, watching the bigger boy make his way away
from me and my friends. "He looks like he lost a fight."

"Trash doesn't know how to be any other way than physical," Lindy mumbled.
He shook his head. "I'm going to have to remember what his face looks like
the next time daddy decides to spank me."

"Yeah," Billy agreed. "I'll take a belt across the ass anytime to having
my lights punched out."

"That's the way I figure it," Lindy said. "I may not like being spanked
but I'll be grateful with each lick that Daddy didn't start pounding my
face instead."

Two weeks later I didn't see the farmboy at school for a couple of days
straight. I asked Ronnie about him and he told me he'd joined the Marines.
His daddy had signed for him.

* * *

Lindy asked me to spend Friday night with him the day after I got my hand
put in a cast. He pulled me aside to do it and he was acting all
embarrassed when he asked me. But he grinned when I said okay and mumbled
something about having a lot of fun as he headed off for his next class.

Broughton and Lindy took me by the house that Friday after school so I
could get my stuff. Then we headed to their house. We just chatted about
school as we drove. As we turned into their drive, Broughton asked if we
wanted to go out to Auntie Clyde's the next day and soak up some rays.
Both Lindy and I thought it was a plan.

When we were in Lindy's room, I surrendered to the curiosity that had been
eating at me all week. "What happened out at Clyde's Monday?" I asked.

His neck and face flamed. "You know?" he managed.

"I saw Joe porking you, Lindy. I'd seen how sick you looked coming out of
the school earlier and figured that Joe had pushed you into something-"

"He had me suck him off in the boy's john," he grunted. "Anybody could've
walked in!"

"That's why I told Clyde that he needed to do something. It looked like it
was getting out of hand."

Lindy looked directly at me. His lower lip trembled. "You do it too,
don't you?"

I faced him. "I like dick too, Lindy. Why?"

"Broughton said you did."

I didn't like the way that sounded. It was all right for Lindy to know I
liked dick - as long as it was me telling him. I didn't think Broughton
had any right telling his brother what I liked.

"Why don't you tell me what happened out at Clyde's," I suggested.

He did, including what had happened after the rest of us had left. Clyde
had read the riot act to Broughton - to both of them really, but Broughton
being older got the brunt of it. It boiled down to the Bennett boys were
doing their best to damage the family name. If it didn't come to a
screeching halt, Clyde was going to the bank and have a little chat with
their father.

Separate military schools had begun to loom on the horizon. Clyde actually
asked Broughton if he'd prefer Maine or Texas.

Or he could learn to take care of his little brother and help him get
through the shit of growing up queer. Very, very quietly.

Neither boy had had any choice. It was understood before they left Clyde's
that Broughton's main squeeze was now his little brother. And Lindy was
going to use his underwear for the seat covers they were meant to be. If
both Broughton and Lindy couldn't fuck a boy, he didn't get in Lindy's
shorts. Lindy's butt was now almost exclusively Broughton's private
preserve, and they both pretty much liked it that way.

The two of them'd been fucking like rabbits since Monday night. And, five
days later, they both wanted some strange.

Enter me. Young, naive Vic Howell. Dumb ass that I was presumed to be.
Uh-huh. Last I'd heard, mum hadn't raised any dummies. I thought I might
have a word or two to say about the little arrangement the Bennett boys had
cooked up for the coming weekend.

"So, let me understand this," I told Lindy. He nodded, sat on his bed, and
started pulling off his sneakers. "Tonight, you expect me to plough your
butt for you?" He nodded. "And Broughton thinks he's going to do the same
thing to me?"

"Sure. Why not? You were letting him pork you before Clyde ordered things
changed around."

Oh yeah! A real big dumb ass.

Sorry boys.

"I'll satisfy your taste for strange, Lindy. I'll even let you have some
of me - I like it both ways."

He grinned at me as he pulled his tee-shirt over his head. "Broughton said
you felt as good as me to fuck-"

"Well, he's not going to have a chance to reacquaint himself with my butt
tonight - unless I get to do him again too."

Lindy's eyes bulged. "You mean that you did-?"

I grinned and nodded. It was turning out I wasn't as naive as Lindy
was. I suspected that Broughton had been holding back on the poor kid.
"Let's go play some basketball," I suggested.

Lindy looked down at his bare chest and the tent in his shorts. "You don't
want to-?"

"Naw. We'll have plenty of time tonight - once we've worked things out
with Broughton. You okay with that?" He nodded and I grinned broadly.
Broughton thought I'd keep my mouth shut about his little omission? Big
brother was going to be royally fucked tonight - and often.
