The Homeroom Bunch

Chapter 3

Both boys were eating and listening intently to what Mrs. Maxwell was
saying. Shawn was hanging on every word because he had no idea what she
would, could or even possibly say that could account for that smile she gave
him a few minutes earlier. He did know this however there was now nothing
between him and Colin that could tear them apart. But Shawn was still
wondering just what his mother knew. He would find out in just another few
minutes.

Mrs. Maxwell sipped her coffee as she decided what and how to say what she
needed to about whom she felt was the one thing she loved more than life
itself. The last thing she wanted to do was give Shawn the impression that
she didn't care or wouldn't totally support him. She knew that Shawn had no
idea that she was aware of who he was. But in her mind, that did not matter.
She just wanted for her son to finally be happy.

She took one last sip of her coffee than began to speak. "Shawn was always
a sensitive child who would give of himself and want nothing in return. When
he was younger, he had many friends and quite a few of them would come over
to play. But when he reached about 10 or so, he began to retreat into
himself. Outside, Shawn would have play friends but the number of people he
would bring inside to play, were drastically going down. He became almost a
virtual loner in the house."

Mrs. Maxwell slid herself in between both boys now. This was the moment of
truth. Taking both boys hands she looked at her son and said "Shawn I know
that you and girls are totally non existent, is that correct?" Shawn had
dropped his head and nodded when she made that statement. Mrs. Maxwell
lifted his chin up with her finger before continuing. "Son, I don't care.
Look at me Shawn. Do you love Colin so much that you would want to spend the
rest of your life with him and him with you?"

Shawn's eyes were tearing. Colin had to have the strength now. Shawn needed
him and he knew he had to be there for him. Colin placed his hand inside
Shawn's and laced his fingers through his friends. Shawn felt this and he
looked over to see who was holding his hand. As soon as he realized who it
was, he smiled and looked up at his mother. "I...I...I, think so Mom. I know
that I have never felt this way about anybody ever before and I have to
admit I don't totally understand everything that is going on. But this is
the one thing I can tell you and Colin right here and now. The answer to
your question is without a doubt a yes. I do love him and I would so much
like to spend the rest of my life with him. I know that sounds like a lot
right now, but I know that Colin loves me too. He has told me this several
times today and when I hold him, I swear I can feel his love coming right
into my body."

Mrs. Maxwell looked at both boys and kissed each on the cheek. Smiling she
said, "It looks like I have just gained another son today. Welcome to the
family Colin and the both of you have my total support and love. Now why
don't the two of you go upstairs and play for a while until Colin has to go
home.

Colin looked at the clock and it read 4:45 PM. He relaxed when he saw that
because he knew he still had over an hour before it would be time for him to
have to go home. The boys held hands as they went up the stairs. This time
Colin had no fear when Shawn opened the door. In fact, Colin bolted inside
almost pulling Shawn off his feet.

"Easy babe," Shawn said regaining his balance. "I thought you were going to
dislocate my arm." Shawn still had his love's hand so he thought about what
would be fair play. He gave Colin a tug and not realizing his strength
lifted the smaller boy off his feet and right into his arms. Colin landed
right into the love of his life's arms plus Colin decided to let his lips
land on Shawn's too.

"Umm," Shawn said. "Now this is something I could definitely get used to."
When the boys finally broke the kiss, Shawn got a serious case of the
giggles. Colin tried to act mad but the more he tried to get angry, the
giddier he became and soon he was laughing as hard as Shawn. This went on
for a few minutes until both boys could no longer stand.

Soon Kelly heard a loud crash on the floor. At first she was going to go see
what had happened but decided that if neither boy came down to say the other
got hurt, she would just leave well enough alone. While the first thought of
having a gay son upset her because she was aware of the social implications
but the thought of not having a grand child did bother her. But while she
was thinking about that, she asked herself if Shawn had married, he would
have to have a woman he loved and if that didn't happen, she wouldn't have a
grand child any way so what was she really worrying about. She soon realized
that she was just thinking of herself.

Back upstairs the laughing lovebirds were finally bringing themselves back
down to earth. Shawn gave Colin a quick peck on the cheek and said, "Would
you like to play a video game or maybe go on the computer? I have some cool
things I can show you there.

Colin thought for a minute then said, "The computer sounds more my speed. I
have never played a video game before but I have seen a computer used so I
could remember the basics. Maybe tomorrow you can teach me how to play video
games."

While Colin was talking, Shawn was booting up the computer so he could give
his friend a tour of the World Wide Web. It took a few minutes for the
computer to come to life so Colin got seated next to his love so he could be
sure to see everything. Shawn began typing on the keyboard and waited a few
seconds and a site about the problems facing today's gay youth appeared
fully on the screen.

Colin looked wide-eyed at the screen. He saw many pictures of boys and teens
that didn't look any different than he and Shawn. "Are all these people like
us Shawn?"

Shawn took his friend's hand and said, "Yes they are babe. Inside, there are
stories from kids of all ages telling of what they face every day in their
life. Some are happy like us, others aren't as lucky."

Colin looked at the clock on Shawn's nightstand. It now read 5:35 PM. Colin
looked back at it one more time to see if he read it correctly the first
time then said "Darn Shawn, I have to leave in a few minutes."

Shawn closed the site and shut down the computer. After that was done, he
scooted closer to Colin and had him lean against his chest as he wrapped his
arms around him. "Colin, this has been the best day I can ever remember. I
met a new friend I fell in love with him and he with me. I learned something
about myself today that I can't change and wouldn't even if I wanted to. You
are the best thing that ever happened to me and I will always love you."

They were just sitting there when Shawn got a brainstorm. "Come on Colin. I
have a great idea but we need to go and ask my mom first to see if it's
alright with her. Both boys were up and out of the room like a shot and they
hit the stairs at mach 1.

In the kitchen, Kelly heard the sound of four feet coming down the stirs
that sounded more like a wild stampede of buffalo. Kelly kept right on doing
what she was but in a very loud voice and with a huge grin on her face said,
"NO RUNNING IN THE HOUSE OR BOTH OF YOUR BACK SIDES ARE MINE!"

The next thing that was heard in the house was silence. When Shawn and Colin
got to the bottom, they stopped dead in their track and wondered if she had
meant what she just said. The boys looked at each other and decided that if
Shawn was going to ask his mom that question, it better be now. Holding
hands, the boys entered the kitchen and saw Shawn's mom looking sheepishly
at them. Shawn said, "Sorry mom we were just in a hurry because Colin has to
leave in a few minutes. I have something to ask Mom and I don't see a
problem here. I mean he's going to be here anyway so why not just let him?
Please Mom, please?"

Kelly was good at reading between the lines of her son's conversations. She
knew very well what he was asking and decided to have him squirm and wiggle
before she gave him her answer. "Gee son, I don't know. I mean this is
short notice. Your room is probably a disaster area that would take a month
to clean." After that last sentence came out she realized she might have
laid it on a bit too thick.

"Aww Mom," Shawn almost whined. "My room is clean. Colin and I didn't mess
it up at all. As for short notice, like I said he's going to be here anyway
so I don't see what the problem would be if he spent the night."

Kelly was having a hard time keeping a straight face. She knew she put it on
a bit too thick so she decided to let Shawn off the hook. "Alright son, I
don't think it would be a problem if Colin spent the night tomorrow." She
looked over at Colin and asked, "What time does your mother get off from
work sweetie?"

Colin looked at the clock and saw it read 5:40 PM. "Mrs. Maxwell I think
she is already on her way home. She gets off at 5:30."

His eyes started to water but Kelly was quick to calm the lad. "Not to
worry son, I'll call your mom when she gets home and we can work out the
arrangements. Now don't go and worry your head none. Why don't you and Shawn
go and start heading over to your house so you won't be late on the first
day you got to meet a new friend." Kelly leaned down and gave Colin a very
motherly kiss on the cheek and said, "We look forward to seeing you tomorrow
and don't forget to bring some clean clothes and something to sleep in for
when you come back and can you give me your phone number."

Colin's eyes lit up because he had just been invited to someone's house for
more than just a short visit. He looked over to Shawn and back to his
mother. He leaned up and gave her a big kiss on the cheek and a hug to
match. "Thanks Mrs. Maxwell, you're so cool." He turned and reached for
Shawn's hand and the two boys headed for the front door.

As they stepped out, Shawn saw the homeroom club over at Bill's house
across the street. Bill waved at the boys and the four of them ran over to
see their newest member again. Lance and Ray brought up the rear for a very
important reason. They just wanted to gaze at Colin a little longer before
they joined the group.

Bill is a very popular boy in class. He is a good football player on the JV
squad who will be moving up to the varsity squad next year. Standing 5'6"
tall and weighing 155 pounds, Bill keeps himself in excellent shape by
running and lifting weights. He also has probably the cutest girl in the
class for a girl friend in Maggie Roberts and it was her blonde hair and
blue eyes that first caught his eye.

Maggie is by far the best looking girl in their homeroom. At 5' 3" and 125
pounds, she made a lot of boys turn their head. There is also one more thing
that made her stand out with her peers. She is the type of person who would
say exactly what she thought and her strongest stance was that the kids
there at Wilson Middle were there for an education and not there to be
picked on by those who didn't want to learn. Her boyfriend Bill took the
same stance on this issue as she did.

Maggie's twin brother is Lance. Lance is in every way, except one, the
spitting image of Maggie. He has the same views as Maggie but held one deep
secret. Lance is gay. He figured this out when he was about 11 when he was
with his best friend Ray. Lance and Ray had met when they were about 4 years
old and had been inseparable ever since.

Maggie wiggled her way in between Colin and Shawn and draped an arm around
each boy's shoulder and spoke softly to both of them. "I think you two make
a cute couple and I want you to know that I have your back. Lance and Ray
told me about you and I think it's great. It's especially nice now because
they have another couple to hang with too."

Just then the rest of the club formed up with arms being wrapped around
open shoulders as the six of them headed to Colin's house. It took the group
about 10 minutes to circle the block to Colin's house.

On the way, Bill decided to make a very bold statement. He realized that if
he were wrong he would be committing social suicide because Maggie would
surely break up with him. If he was right on the other hand, he could let
these four boys know that he was firmly behind them in their decision but he
would also keep their secret. "Guys, I have to ask you a question and I hope
I'm not off base and wrong. Ray, Lance, you two have been stuck together
since I have known you and now Shawn you have a new best bud. Are the four
of you boyfriends?"

As soon as those words came out of Bill's mouth, everyone stopped and there
was dead silence. No one knew who was going to speak first nor did they want
to be the first to speak. Lance looked at Ray and there was that look
between them that said all right. "Well Bill, I'm going to take a chance and
answer your question. Not because I really think I have to but it's because
I get the feeling that you are on our side here. Yes Bill, I am gay and Ray
here is my boyfriend." Lance saw Ray look at Shawn and Colin then he
continued speaking. "Shawn here is gay too and he just met his boyfriend
today. Colin is very shy and if anybody ever says a cross word to him, the
three of us will protect him with all we have."

Bill had to speak now. "First Lance, you should make that the FOUR of us
will protect Colin with all WE have. Next I didn't ask that question to make
fun of you guys. I believe like Maggie that we all have the right to be who
we are and to live our life as we see fit. I won't say I understand what
it's like to be gay but I have read a little about it and I do know that it
really pisses me off about the amount of shit you all have to go through so
you will not get anything less than my total support."

Lance extended his hand out palms down and everyone started placing their
hands on top of each other's in an "all for one and one for all" show of
unity. When all this was done, the homeroom club began heading to Colin's
house again.

Maggie kissed Bill on the lips and said, "I knew there was something about
you I liked. How long have you known?"

Bill returned her kiss and said, "I didn't know for sure until just a
minute ago but let's say I have suspected for over a year. You need to tell
your brother to be careful when he plants one on Ray. They were over at the
park and I guess they didn't look around careful enough because I saw him
give Ray one hell of a kiss. You know something? He could give me a few
lessons in that department." At that point, Bill was giggling very loud and
it got everyone's attention.

Not being shy, Lance looked at Bill and said, "What's so funny?"

Bill finally composed himself and said; "I told your sister that I could
take kissing lessons from you and Ray."

Colin was the first to speak but it was difficult through the giggles. "Hey
Lance, how much are you going to charge? Will you give a discount for a
group?"

The group finished the walk to Colin's house laughing and giggling. The
group came to a small secluded area where Shawn and Colin could have a
minute just to themselves before they had to be separated until tomorrow
when they meet to walk to school.

When the two boys were alone, they went right into each others arms and
gave each other a very passionate kiss. When they separated Colin looked at
Shawn and said, "I am going to miss you tonight. I can't wait until
tomorrow. I just hope your mom can persuade my mom to let me stay."

"Don't worry babe," Shawn said. "I know my Mom and I'm not worried. Now
please get some sleep tonight because we are going to have a great time
tomorrow. Maybe we can get Lance and Ray to come over for a little while
too."

Colin said his goodbyes to the others and ran inside his house. "Hi Mom,
I'm home. Did Mrs. Maxwell call you? She said she was going to." Colin was
getting worried that Mrs. Maxwell had forgot to make that call.

"Colin," his Mother said. "I don't know son, I was talking to your Dad for
a few minutes so the line has been busy. What was she going to talk with me
about? Do you have any idea?"

Colin started getting nervous again but realized that he had to be strong
and answer her question if he wanted to spend the night with his new friend.
"Well Mom," He started. "Shawn had an idea and his Mom thought it was a good
idea also." When Colin gets nervous, he rambles on and on taking forever to
say just what it is he's trying to. "Ah, well Mom it's like this. Shawn
wants to know if I can spend the night with him. I mean I'm going to be
there any way. You remember I'm having dinner there so he just thought why
not?"

Ellen Ferguson listened to her son ramble. "Well son, your Dad and I had
made some plans for tomorrow night and we were talking about you and
possibly needing a sitter for you."

Colin's stomach and heart seemed to have just changed places in his body.
Then he said stammering, "A...A...A babysitter? Mom, I'm 14 years old. I don't
need a babysitter." This exchange made Colin's eyes start to tear up.

Just then the phone rang. Colin wiped his eyes as his Mother went to see
who it was. Helen picked up the receiver and said, "Hello. Oh, hi Kelly.
Colin and I were just talking about that. His Father and I had some plans
for going out ourselves tomorrow night and we were wondering about Colin.
Are you sure Kelly? I don't want to be imposing now. Well if you're sure
then I suppose it would be alright. Thank you all so very much. Good bye."

Colin ran to his Mom and gave her the biggest hug he had in a long time.
"Thanks Mom. I'll be good, I promise. After he let her go, he went to his
room to get some things together for his sleep over at Shawn's.

After dinner Colin took his shower and got ready to watch some television.
As he was getting his night clothes on he relived everything that had
happened today.

This has been the best day of my entire life, he thought to himself. I have
friends and even made a best friend who I care so very much about I wonder
how I ever lived without him in my life. When he was thinking about Shawn,
he felt his manhood begin to stir again. As this was happening, Colin had a
smile come to his face. He was remembering what Shawn looked like when he
suddenly dropped his pants and lifted his shirt up. Colin remembered how
cute he was and how he thought his chest was just so sexy.

As Colin was reliving this, his hand went down to his manhood and he began
to gently rub and stroke it. He lay back on the bed and with his eyes
closed. He rubbed himself to the mental picture he now had of Shawn in his
mind. His manipulations were soft and slow at first. He saw Shawn in his
mind doing the very same thing. As his mental picture got more vivid in his
mind, Colin began stroking himself a little faster. Soon he felt that
feeling start to build in his small developing balls. Within another minute
of two he knew he couldn't hold off any longer. Colin cut loose with two
weak watery spurts of semen followed by a few single drops.

He grabbed his bath towel and cleaned himself, then finished dressing and
went to watch some television before bed time. At about 9:30, Colin said
good night to his parents and headed for his room to get some sleep.
