In Time

"Corey, come on. Get up, it's already 10!" came the yell of Corey's mom
from downstairs.

Corey lazily brought his hands up and pulled the covers off. Even though it
was summer he was cold in his room, plus he slept in his boxers, and only
his boxers. He immediately got goose bumps and quickly ran into his walk in
closet and grabbed a pair of baggy sweat pants and a large white
t-shirt. Before he opened his door he stopped to ponder for a second. He
went back to the thoughts that had been flooding his mind yesterday about
the boy who went by on the bike.

'I really hope I can get to know him,' Corey thought.

He then made up his bed a bit and hurried down to the kitchen.

"G'mornin' Corey," Martin said with cheerful enthusiasm and a smile.

"Mornin' Martin," Corey responded with not even a quarter the energy his
brother had given him, seeing as he was still asleep and really nothing
more than a walking zombie at this point.

"Ah... Someone in a bad mood?" Martin said with a curiosity and slight
mockery.

"No. Just tired is all, I really wanted to sleep in today,"

"Well, school starts next Monday, so you need to enjoy the summer while you
still have it,"

Corey's mom said to make a point to her son to be awake.

Corey slept most of the summer away as it was and he needed to enjoy what
he had left of it.

"Yeah, yeah, so what's for breakfast?"

"Well, we have some pancakes, eggs, bacon, OJ, and anything else you
please," his mom said with some chipper.

"Well, I'll just take whatever he's having," Corey said pointing to his
brother.

"Where's dad?" Martin said. He had just noticed that his dad was missing
from the kitchen.

"Right here son," Mr. Lee said, walking into the kitchen from the back deck
which led off onto the backyard and small dock on the lake area.

"Ah... I see my vampire son is awake. Were you out late hunting victims
again, or does the morning light just burn?" Mr. Lee said with a hearty
laugh at the end.

Corey's dad loved joking around and poking fun at his sons. It was all play
though, and the brothers played along with it.

"Yeah, I robbed a blood bank last night so I'm totally exhausted," Corey
said with obvious sarcasm in his voice as he grabbed his pancakes and other
breakfast items.

He then proceeded to sit down next to Martin at the breakfast bar.

"Well you better wake up already, 'cause we're going out in about twenty
minutes," Mr. Lee said, seriousness returning to his voice.

"Going out? Where?" Corey said interested in this.

"Well, your dad managed to bring the boat here. Don't even ask me how but
he somehow got the thing all the way from Australia to the lake here,"
Ms. Lee said with a hint of disbelief in her voice.

"Really!? How did you manage that one dad!?" Corey shouted out, excitement
clear in his voice.

"With a few connections and some good shipping companies I got it brought
here by boat and shipped the rest of the way via truck; Quite amazing what
they can do now-a-days."

"So were going on a sailing trip on the boat?" Corey said, now calmed down
a bit.

"Yes we are. We're going to be out till about 3, and then your mom and I
thought we could go and get lunch and maybe catch a show. So eat your
breakfast and then get dressed so we can head out. Wear casual and just
bring your suit so you can change once we get further out in the lake."

"Right, I can't wait!" Corey said with the energy returned to him. He was
seriously looking forward to this.

It was about 10:25 AM and Jacob was already up. He usually slept in on
summer vacation, but seeing as he went to bed earlier than normal he was
able to get up a bit earlier. He had decided he wanted to just play Sky Rim
most of the day and maybe take a ride later to go and see if that wonder
boy was at the park. Maybe he could make up an excuse to go and say hi and
possibly play a game with him. Who knew? As he was sitting there he
happened to raise his head when he saw the boat sailing by his back
yard. It was about 100 feet out from the shore but he estimated it was
about 35 foot in length. It was a sailing boat, single hull, and it was
under sail. Seeing that there was a slight bit of wind they were able to
sail at a decent speed. He wasn't all that interested in the boat, seeing
that a lot of people there owned boats, but then he managed to get a closer
look at the occupants when he squinted. He instantly noticed the look of a
golden reflection off one of the occupants sitting near the front of the
boat.

No way! It couldn't be, could it? Jacob thought to himself. He went to his
dresser and grabbed a pair of binoculars he had in there. He usually used
them for bird watching since there were a lot around here but this was the
rare occasion he used it for people watching.

'Yeah, I'm a total creeper, but at least I'm not taking pictures of them
like Alex. Although, this is probably just as bad. Eh, who cares this boy
is hot,' Jacob thought to himself.

He adjusted the binoculars and zoomed in on the person laying out on the
front windshield of the cabin for the boat. Sure enough it was wonder boy,
and if he looked good in Jacobs mind yesterday, today he was nothing short
of a god. He had on a tight fitting white polo, dark blue skinny jeans, the
same Black Nike Airs, and a pair of large Aviator sunglasses.

'Oh my god....I need to see him closer, or at least get his attention,'
Jacob thought. He almost threw the binoculars onto his bed and was about to
run out his door when he realized something.

He couldn't just run out to his backyard and start staring at this boy. He
would look even more like a creep, not as if he wasn't one for using
binoculars, but this would be a new level.

"Hmm... I know, I'll just happen to pass by them on our boat. Yes, that's
perfect!" Jacob said aloud. He immediately ran down the hall and
practically rammed Alex's door down.

"Alex!! Want to go for a boat ride?!" Jacob said extremely excited at the
prospect of seeing this boy up close.

"What on earth is wrong with you? And why a boat ride?" Alex said half
shocked about his brothers bursting in and the other half being annoyance
that he didn't knock. Not that he was doing anything that would be
embarrassing, but had he it wouldn't have been good.

"Ok, I'll be straight with you," Jacob paused a bit to laugh at his pun.

"Ok. Out on the lake right now is a large sailing vessel carrying some of
the best eye candy around." Jacob said with a smile and mischievous sound
to his voice.

"I see...The new kids I'm assuming eh? Well I think I wouldn't mind a ride
in the boat, give me, say, two minutes, and I'll meet you down at the
dock?" Alex said with a smile and the same mischievousness in his voice.

"Gotcha ya, see you there." Jacob ran out of Alex's room and ran down the
hall back down to his room. He practically ripped his clothes off and put
on a bathing suit.

He grabbed a water shirt that was meant to get wet and grabbed his shield
sunglasses. He then ran out his door and practically collided again with
his brother.

"Jacob, you're going to kill me by running into me one of these days," Alex
said with some giggles at the end.

"Fine, but that can wait; we need to get out to the boat."

Jacob and Alex ran down the stairs, grabbed the boat keys, and ran out to
the small dock where the motor boat was. It was about 20feet, so not giant
but it had some large motors so it had a nice bit of speed. Plus it was
black and silver and had a really cool look to it.

"So where is the eye candy?" Alex said looking from left to right.

"That a way" Jacob said pointing to the boat. It was quite a distance off
and was now heading out to the main part of the lake.

"Ah... I see, well lets go then" Alex said running towards the dock. It
wasn't legal for either of them to be driving, but the driving age wasn't
enforced, on top of that Jacob had been driving the boat since he was a kid
so he knew the controls.

He started the engines which roared to life and practically gunned it out
of the docks. They started speeding down the shore line heading closer and
closer to boat wonder boy, as Jacob had named it in his head. As they were
getting within range he wondered how he should do this. He could just speed
by at a distance but then the boy on board wouldn't be able to see him all
that well. He knew he would have to cut it kind of close to the other
boat. Boat wonder boy was now approaching the center of the left half of
the lake so Jacob decided he would come from the side and cut in front of
them. Then he would pass by and go in some circles around the shore of the
lake.

He gunned the engine and felt a jerk as he fell backwards in the seat. He
didn't want to seem as though he was following it so he decided a full
speed pass would make it seem as though he was just passing by. He looked
back to Alex who was sitting in his seat and looking at the boat they were
approaching.

Finally there were in range for the other boaters to notice. They sped by
about 35 feet away and cut in front of the other boat. He wasn't extremely
close, but it defiantly was a near pass. But despite it passing by so fast
he knew he saw the wonder boy suddenly get up and run to the front of the
boat and stare at them as they passed by.

Jacob smiled as he realized he had gotten the boys attention. He couldn't
help but wonder what was going through the boys mind as the boat sped
towards the other part of the lake.

Corey was sitting on the boat letting the sun radiate down on him. He was
wearing sunscreen so he wasn't worried about being burned. Corey was
enjoying their boat which was a large 35 foot single hull sail boat with a
cabin that had windows for a semi-panoramic view from the cabin. He was
lying down on the windows that were more towards the front and was enjoying
the sun and warm wind. He had decided to wear jeans mainly because the wind
was giving him a chill, despite the air itself being warm.

Lying there he began to ponder again about that kid on the bike
yesterday. It had been on his mind a majority of last night and would keep
popping up in his head. He had no idea as to why, though he knew he was
attracted to him, it felt as though something was drawing him in. It was as
if this kid was something more than just another good looking boy to him,
but he didn't know why he felt that way.

His thoughts were flowing through his head until he heard the faint noise
of a motor. It sounded like a racing boat or something, and it was getting
louder and louder as time passed. After a minute of it getting louder Corey
raised his head and saw an amazing looking black and silver speed boat
heading straight for them. He saw that it was coming in fairly close and
began to wonder if it was going to hit them or something. Then when it was
about 50 feet behind them he saw the occupants. He thought his eyes had
tricked him for a second, but when he looked closer he could clearly see
who it was. It was the kid on the bike yesterday and the younger one who
had passed before the older one.

The older one had on a black wetsuit like shirt that you would swim with, a
black swimsuit with a blue and white flow looking design on them, and a
pair of shield styled sunglasses. He looked even better today than he did
yesterday. The dirty blonde hair was reflecting off the sun in a cascade of
colors and the way he looked sitting in the seat of the boat was
amazing. The younger one looked similar expect he was wearing a white
swimsuit with a red and black flow design on them, grey wetsuit like shirt,
and some Aviators.

Corey got up off the window and ran to the front of the boat to catch a
better glimpse just as they sped off to the other part of the lake.

'Damn...I wanted to get a better look,' Corey thought to himself. It wasn't
long after when Martin came running up behind him.

"Corey! Corey! Did you see that boat just now?" Martin said excitedly "Of
course I did, how could I not have?"

"Did you see the occupants?" Martin said with a sly grin.

"Yeah I did, better looking than the boat in my opinion," Corey said with a
laugh "Yeah, I would have to agree on that one. The younger one looked
really nice, and I am pretty sure he's my age, I hope I get to see him in
school." Martin said while he looked off at the boat speeding away into the
distance "Well, I'm sure you'll see him around more often, it seems like
they probably go boating and biking often so we'll run into them."

"Yeah, but we seriously need to find out who they are. Friends, or more
than that, they are cute, and we don't really have any friends here yet, so
I really want to make friends with them at least." Martin said looking down
while he thought about how he missed his friends back in Australia.

"Hey, don't worry bro, we got school coming up soon enough, we're bound to
make plenty of friends in school," Corey reassured his brother with a light
pat on the back.

Martin looked back up and smiled back at him. They had always been really
close as brothers; in fact the whole family was very tightly knit. They
always did things together and they enjoyed every moment they had together.

"Thanks bro, well I'm off to the cabin, to check some stuff on my laptop,"
Martin said as he walked off.

"Okay," Corey replied. He went back to the front of the boat and tried to
find the other boat again, but to no avail. They had sped so far off into
the distance that they were no longer visible.

He sat back and began to think about what he had just seen and what the
chances of him ever seeing that kid were. This place had multiple high
schools, and several private ones, so he may not go to the same school. On
top of that he could live anywhere on the lake and yesterday may have just
been coincidence and he just happened to pass by. He was really starting to
get himself depressed with these thoughts running through his head of never
seeing this kid again. Corey decided to change subjects in his head. He
knew that this would only get him more and more upset, and he couldn't do
anything about it now. He really hoped that this wasn't the last time he
would see him. He wanted to really get to know this person.

"Jacob, I like going at high speeds around the lake for thirty minutes just
as much as any other guy does, but I kind of want to go for a swim
now. It's getting really hot," Alex said in a complaint to his older
brother driving the boat.

"Fine, fine, we'll stop at the cove for a dip," Jacob said as he steered
the boat in its direction.

The cove was a secluded inlet into a small bay that was adjacent to the
bridge and on the shore opposite of the peninsula. So normally you could
just follow the shore line that was on the same side as the cove, keep
going straight after you pass the end of the peninsula, and you would reach
it. The spot was nice because there weren't many people who went there and
it had a nice beach they could relax on.

They pulled into the cove area and brought the boat to a stop about 40 feet
off shore. They dropped the anchor and jumped into the water. The sensation
of the cool water on Jacobs's skin was refreshing. He didn't swim all that
often, so when he did it always felt really good. He swam around for about
fifteen minutes with Alex and did a bit of wrestling. After being worn out
from that they dragged themselves to the shore and lay down on the beach
and removed their shirts so they could enjoy the rays. They had on their
sunscreen so being burnt wasn't an issue. They didn't worry about the boat
being stolen, or themselves getting mugged or anything since the nearest
sign of civilization was the roadway off the bridge, and that was at least
a mile away.

They were both enjoying laying there on the beach until they heard a
noise. They could hear the definitive noise of people running through the
water towards the shore. Though it was usually empty they occasionally saw
other people there who knew about it so Jacob didn't even bother getting up
or opening his eyes. As he sat there bathing he could hear the noise of
people running up the beach, and the sound of feet hitting the sand sounded
like it was getting closer, but he really couldn't tell. He kept laying
there until he heard the voice of someone else, who sounded as if they were
right next to him.

"Hey," the voice said. It was definitely foreign, and sounded either
British or Australian.

"Hi," Jacob said back before he even opened his eyes. He took off his
sunglasses, sat up, opened his eyes, and looked in the direction of the
voice. There standing right in front of him was wonder boy himself. He
gasped a bit and his eyes grew large as he saw this boy stand in front of
him.

He had only seen him from a distance so far, but now he was sure he was
some type of god, or at the very least the descendent of a god. He had
curly blonde hair that came to a perfect half curl at the bottom. He had a
face that literally had no blemish whatsoever and his cheeks looked like he
was blushing, though he wasn't. The nose was half way between blunt and
sharp but fit his face perfectly. The cheekbones were higher up and well
defined and his face came to a point but was smoother around the upper
edges. He had emerald green eyes and his ears looked almost like elf ears,
being pointy and narrow. The rest of his body, since he was wearing no
shirt, was no less in awesomeness. He obviously was athletic with muscle
definition on not only his legs, but his chest, abs (thought not a pack
they looked like they were getting there), and arms. In fact in Jacobs's
mind it would be a disgrace to simply call him amazing, immaculate would be
better suited in his opinion.

Jacob simply stared at him, and he was starting to lock up and freeze. He
was sitting in front of a god and he didn't know what to do. The other boy
smiled at him.

"My name's Corey" Corey said and extended his hand to give Jacob a
handshake. What an amazing name Jacob thought.

"M... My names Jacob" he was finding it hard not to stutter and simply lock
up. He extended his hand and shook, and the second he touched the other
boys hand he felt how soft it was. It was like silk. Is he really human
Jacob thought to himself. Well gay or not, I doubt I have any chance with
this boy; he's way too far out of my league Jacob thought and let out a
slight sigh at realizing this.

"Nice to meet ya Jacob, this is my younger brother Martin," Corey said as
the younger one named Martin walked forward. He looked very similar to his
brother in that he had a similar face, except his nose was a bit sharper,
but his face overall was a bit more blunt. Plus his hair was curlier than
Corey's, but the same color of blonde. He looked pretty cute as well, but
Jacob was never into younger boys. He had always preferred his age or a bit
older.

"'Ello Jacob," Martin said extending his hand to shake.

"Hey, nice to meet you as well Martin," Jacob said. He noticed this kids
hand felt the same; he wondered if it was some type of moisturizer they
used.

"This is my younger brother, Alex," Jacob said as Alex walked up and shook
both Martin and Corey's hand, yet he seemed to be paying more attention to
Martin.

"So where do you guys live here?" Corey said to the two brothers.

"Oh, we live at 410 Foster Drive, it's on the peninsula," Jacob said
without any real attention to it.

"Really?" Corey said, his eyes growing large and taking in a slight
gasp. "I live at 650 Foster Drive, so you're right down the street from
me?" Corey said almost in disbelief.

"Yeah, I actually passed by your house yesterday," Jacob wondered why Corey
was so surprised they lived down the street from each other.

"Oh yeah, I remember that," Corey and Martin couldn't help a slight smile,
remembering their conversation they had yesterday.

'Maybe it will be one for me and one for him,' Corey thought.

"So where did you guys move from?" Alex said directing the question towards
Martin.

"Oh, well we just got here from Australia, you probably guessed already
cause the accent,"

Martin said, a bit self-conscious that his accent stuck out.

"Cool, well it's a neat accent, I like it," Alex said with a smile, but he
had said it because he really did love foreign accents, and on this boy it
made him just that much more cute in Alex's mind.

"Really? Well if you ever want to learn the accent you can stop by my house
whenever you feel like and I can teach it to you," and a bunch of other
things Martin added silently as his mind trailed off to what else he could
teach to this cute boy.

"Can you teach an accent?" Alex said, a bit confused with a light laugh.

"Maybe, I don't really know, but we still should hang out sometime," Martin
said with a laugh.

"Yeah, totally," Alex said.

"By the way I was wondering, what kind of boat is that? It's really cool
looking," Martin said to Alex.

"Oh, well that's our parents speed boat, it's made by Mastercraft. We can
go and look at it if you want, and afterwards go and take a look at
yours. It's really cool looking as well," Alex said since he was genuinely
interested in their boat. It was a neat looking sailing boat.

"Sure, you can look at it all you want, as long as I get to see yours,"
Martin said with a sly grin and mischievous voice. The double play on the
words was something Martin loved doing, plus he was hoping Alex would pick
up on it. But after Alex said sure and led them off he was a bit
disappointed when he realized that Alex didn't pick up on it.

Now that Alex and Martin were off swimming towards the speed boat that just
left Corey and Jacob alone on the shore. Corey's parents had decided to
just lie out on the deck of the boat since they didn't really want to swim
right then.

"So, how old are you?" Jacob said, suspecting that Corey was of a similar
age.

"I'm 14, about you?" Corey said.

"I'm the same age, I'll be a freshman this year in high school at West
Telson High," Jacob said and watched as Corey's eyes lit up like fireworks.

"Seriously!? That's awesome; I'm gonna be a freshman there as well. So I
guess we'll be study buddies as well huh?" Corey said with a slight nudge
at Jacob's side. Jacob didn't mind at all, since he really liked having
Corey touch him.

"Yea, that sounds like fun, well the hanging out part, the study
part... Well... Let's just say there are other things I would be far more
interested in doing," Jacob said, because though he was a good student and
in all higher level classes, he really didn't like studying, but did it
anyway to get good grades.

"Really, like what else would you be interested in doing?"

"I don't know, stuff like bicycling, swimming, playing my video games,
going to the park, stuff like that."

"Ahh...but swimming? Well we could definitely do that together, I love
swimming. I used to be on a team back at my middle school in Australia."

"I can tell from the abs," Jacob said with a laugh at the end looking again
over how well built his body was. Then just under his breathe "I'd love to
show you the rest..." Corey said quietly enough, or at least he thought, so
that Jacob wouldn't hear it. But Jacob heard it, but doubted he heard it
correctly. No way... No way this boy likes me; he'll have a girlfriend in a
week or less. Then again just maybe... No don't think that way.

"Hey, since our younger brothers are on your boat right now, wanna head
over to mine and maybe get a soda or something, I'm really parched," Corey
said pointing to the sailboat floating out in the small bay.

"Sure, I wouldn't mind a drink," Jacob said.

They both ran towards the waves hitting the shoreline, and jumped into the
water and began to swim out towards the boat as the sun shined down and
made it look like it was a sea of gold.

Authors Note: So it looks like they will get to meet each other a bit more
after all? And Corey apparently likes to make the moves in this duo. Anyway
do you have comments, suggestions, questions? Well again send it my way to
EFoster447@yahoo.com. Lets watch as these four boys continue to develop and
grow up together, and watch them go through a variety of obstacles, shared
joys, and many other things.
