				 Letters 3
			      ---------------

I didn't believe it. Devon was kissing me. I was in a trance. I didn't
know what to think. Then he lifted his head up and said;

"Trevor?" I opened my mouth to respond, but no sound came out.

"Trev, buddy, can you hear me?" he said, a little more worried than
before. Once again, no sound escaped from my mouth. I began to get
scared. Then my body violently shook back and forth. Then I woke up. Devon
was calling my name and shaking me to get me to wake up. We were still in
the kitchen. It was all a dream.

"Ok, ok! I'm alive!" I said, jokingly. I tried to smile, but it didn't work
very well.

"Boy, you got me scared for a minute there! You have a bruise on your
forehead the size of a truck!" Devon informed me. I felt my head, and he
was right. It hurt, and I had a headache.

"Well, I'll just take my Pepsi and get outta here. I just came to give you
your notebook. And be more careful, dude! See ya at school tomorrow." Devon
smiled and said.

"Yeah, ok, thanks." I said. I walked him to the door and watched him
leave. After he was gone, I put a wet rag on my forehead and sat on the
couch. That's when I saw my notebook. I grabbed it and opened it. What I
discovered blew my mind. The letter was gone! What if it fell out in class
and someone picked it up? *Holy hell, I am so screwed!* I thought to
myself. I had to find that letter. It had to be there somewhere. I retraced
my steps and saw that the letter was really gone. Oh boy. I had to find
that letter. I decided to take a walk. I left my house and before long,
found myself at the local park. It looked empty, so I decided to go have
some peace and quiet, to think, to clear my head. I went to the back of the
park, a section which can't be seen from any other area at the park. I sat
on the bench and rested my head on my arm. Then I heard footsteps on the
cement path leading to the bench. The bench that I was sitting on. I jumped
up, and without thinking, hid behind a nearby tree, which was only a few
feet away. Then I peeked over at the bench. It was Stoney! He had a
notebook in his hand, writing something. Then he mumbled to himself. I
could only make out a few of the words he said;

"...you were the one..... ok..... be mine...... ahhh! Forget it!..... yeah,
I'll invite him to my party on Saturday night! Forget this letter
stuff. I'll just come out and tell him. If he hates me, he hates me. If he
doesn't, then maybe I'll have a chance!" he said. He jumped up and began
walking away. What if he was talking about me? I wasn't about to let him
slip through my fingers. Not this time. I jumped up and walked in another
direction, towards a picnic table under two trees, in a patch of fresh cut,
nice green grass. I sat down and waited for Stoney to notice I was here,
and hopefully talk to me. Then I heard footsteps.

"Trevor? Is that you?" Stoney said.

"Oh, hey Stoney, didn't see you here." I was such a good liar. He sat next
to me. Our eyes met and we stared at each other, like we did the first
time. Then he said;

"Trevor, I'm having this party over at my house on Saturday, and if you
wanna come, you can." *YES! He was talking about me!* I thought.

"Ok, sure, I'll come!" I accepted. I was so happy.

"Well, see ya there!" he said. He got up and left. I watched his butt as he
left. Saturday was sure to be a night I'd never forget.
