lonely once again    chapter 3


      Owen woke to Perry stirring in bed. He sat up and looked at Perry,
however, Perry was still sleeping, he was very restless. Owen held his hand
and said don't worry Perry I will protect you, Perry sat upright in bed,
opened his eyes leaned over to Owen hugged his and said, help my
Chase. Owen did not know what to do so he put his arms around Perry and
said your safe now I am here. Perry laid his head on Owen's shoulder and
nodded of to sleep again. Owen gently laid Perry back down on the bed, and
said to himself, who Chase?

      Dad came up a little while later and came into the room. He looked at
Owen and said, hey doc how is the patient? Owen said dad Perry said, Help
me Chase, I don't understand. Dad said son come here and sat on Owen's bed,
Owen sat next to his and dad started to tell Owen about Chase. Dad said
Owen, Chase was a boy that lived at the orphanage with Perry, They were
very close, The night before mom and I went to get Perry, Chase passed away
in his sleep. Nobody seemed to know why. It hit Perry very hard because
Chase was like his protector. the watch that Perry is wearing belonged to
Chase.  Owen said Perry has been through a lot already. Dad said yes he
has, When he asked Chase to help him he must have been dreaming. Owen said
dad will perry ever be OK? Dad said I think so but it will take some time
and he will need a good friend to help him. Owen said dad do you think that
I could be that friend, dad said I am counting on you to do that. Owen look
ay his dad and said I won't let you down. Dad said just don't let Perry
down and he should be fine.

     He put his arm around owen and said lets go down and eat. Owen said I
can't leave him now, what if he wakes up, dad said how about I bring you
something, Owen said thanks dad, dad kissed Owen of the head and said you
stay here and I will take care of breakfast. Dad got up and left the
room. Lloyd came in and said how is he doing, Owen jumped up and said got
out of me room, you did this and I will never forgive you. Lloyd turned and
walked out. Dad came up shortly after with something to eat. He put it on
the dresser and simply said Owen you should eat before it gets cold. Owen
turned and just smiled and dad turned and left the room.

     Owen sat on the side of Perry's bed all day, and only left to go to
the bathroom but came right back, he did don't want Perry to wake up and
not be there. Owen turned on the stereo softly and listened to the music
hoping that Perry would hear it. Perry stirred several more times during
the day, but he never work up. Owen sitting there all day had no idea what
time it was, but more importantly he did not care.  dad came up again and
said Owen You go down and eat dinner, Owen said but dad, dad said I will
sit here until you come back and I am not taking no for an answer, you have
not left this room since Perry came home, now you go down and eat. Owen
stood walk over to dad and hugged him and said OK I will.  Owen headed down
to eat and was back in record breaking time, dad looked and asked Owen did
you chew any of the food, Owen smiled and said some of it. Dad patted him
on the head and said OK you take over for me, Owen said with pleasure. Dad
got up and walked out of the room. Owen sat on the side of Perry's bed
again and never left. He was getting tired and was dozing on and off. He
stood and walked around the room, he stopped and looked out the window and
saw that it was very dark outside.  He went back to sit down and noticed
the clock said 10:15. Owen sat again and took hold of Perry's hand, after
several minutes he stood up walked over and closed the bedroom door turned
out the light got undressed and went and sat by Perry once again, He was
nodding on and off almost till 3:00, when I started to get into bed with
Perry. He was just about to lay down when he heard a soft voice. The voice
said Owen you are doing a great job, and Perry could not be in better
hands. Owen was scared and said who is that. The voice said it is Chase and
I am here to check on Perry, after your mom and dad agreed to adopt Perry,
my job here was over. I realize that in that process I hurt Perry but I had
to go. It is your job now and I know you will do just fine, I will check
back from time to time and see how you are doing because now I have to keep
an eye on both of you. Owen said Perry loved you very much do you think he
will ever love me like that? Chase said I am sure of it. I have to go now
but I will be watching over both of you. Owen said wait, what can I do now
to help Perry. There was no answer. Owen looked up and said Chase I will do
my best, then he felt something very soft and tender on his cheek, and fell
asleep in bed with Perry.

      The next morning Owen woke to Perry with his arms wrapped around him,
he looked up and saw Perry looking down at him. Owen sprang upright and
said Perry your back.  Perry said I hear that you never left my side. Owen
said how do you know that? Perry said we both have a very special friend.
Owen smiled and said you mean Chase. Perry said yes, and neither of you
left my side, That means a great deal to me and I see us becoming very good
friends. Owen said Perry do you think you will ever love me like you did
Chase. Perry said I would not be a bit surprised, He hugged him even
tighter and said I am hungry. Owen jumped out of bed and said lets go eat I
am starving. Perry started to get out of bed and Owen said Perry I am sorry
but I took off all your cloths.  Perry looked under the covers and saw that
he had nothing on, he said well you saw me naked before why not now. He
stood up and Owen just stared at Perry's naked body. Perry said you like
what you see don't you, Owen said yes very much Perry said well OK then I
guess I will have to save it for you, he smiled and then got dressed. Both
boys went down to eat and when dad saw Perry he walked over and hugged him
and said Perry I thought we were going to lose you. Perry said me leave
without Owen I could never do that. I think you are stuck with me for a
while. Dad smiled and said that's fine with me. Owen said me to you have to
stay.

     Perry went up the Lloyd's room and knocked on the door. Lloyd answered
and looked and a smile appeared on his face and he said Perry I am really
sorry I hit you and it will not happen again. Perry smiled and said good I
would hate to have to kick your butt, both boys started laughing. Perry
said I did not tell dad what happened. Lloyd said he sort of figured it out
and ground me, I think forever.  Perry said I will talk to dad and see what
I can do. Lloyd said you would do that for me? Perry said well we are
brothers aren't we, we are supposed to help each other. Perry was really
surprised when Lloyd hugged him and from now on that's the way it will be,
the two of us. Perry smiled and stepped back and said no Lloyd the three of
us. Lloyd said right the three of us.

     Owen and Perry spent most of the day in their room, they listened to
the stereo and played video games and basically just spent the day together
getting to know each other better. Owen asked Perry if he could tell him
about Chase. Perry got a quizzical look on his face and asked how he knew
about Chase. Owen saw the tears welling up in Perry's eyes and said you
don't have to tell me.  Perry smiled and said yes I do. I would love to
talk about Chase and to someone special to me makes it all the
pleasing. Perry started with that fact that Chase was his best friend, He
was my protector, my guide, my friend, my confident but mostly and not know
to him the one person that I loved the most. He gave Owen a description of
Chase and said that he really misses him a lot. Owen said Perry you may not
believe me but last night Chase came and talked to me. He said that when
mom and dad agreed to adopt you that his job was over and he had to
leave. Owen looked at Perry, saw the tears streaming down his face, he told
me that it was now my job to protect you, he also said that he would be
checking on us to make sure we were ok. Perry leaned over and hugged Owen
and said well I guess that I have another special friend.

      Owen said Perry I am really tired and I think I need to go to
sleep. Perry asked if he had been up since he came home from the hospital
and Owen said pretty much. Perry said well it is rather later and I could
use some ore sleep He got undressed and got into bed, Owen got undressed
and went and turned the light off and started to get in bed when Perry said
Owen there is plenty of room in my bed, want to sleep with me. Owen walked
over got in Perry's bed and said thanks you are my special person.  Perry
put his arm around Owen and they both fell asleep.
