Chapter Three


Barry's house

It was still dark out when I woke up. It was kind of wierd cause I did not
know where I was at first. I just layed there and got my thoughts together
befor I realized where I was. I then remembered what happened just a few
hours ago. We must have let each other go while we were sleeping cause I was
facing the wall. I looked over at Barry and saw him sleeping so peacefully I

in the hospital parking lot and mom was at the door and I could tell she was
crying, I got out of the car and ran to he asking what was wrong. I started
to have tears in my eyes and did not know why. then she said that dad was in
an accident and he was hurt real bad. That is when I really started to cry,
(As I am doing now cause it still hurts) . Mrs Harold and the Officer tool us
into the hospital and brought us to the front desk. He asked if there was a
place that we could be while we wait besided the waiting room. That is when
the doctor came out and asked if we could go with him. We went to his office
and he started to talk to my mom, Mrs Jacob I am doctor so and so (can't
remember his name) your husband was very seriously hurt and has a lot of
internal bleeding he is in surgury now and they are trying to repair the
damage, It will be some time befor we know what is going to happen but I have
to tell you the It doesn't look good. I heard this and got up and ran out of
the office into the hall, Mom and the doc came after me but I ran outside and
started up the drive, I got about half way when the Officer that brought us
and Mrs. Harold caught me, Mom caught up to me and wrapped her arms around me
and said that we she needed me and we were going to be allright. I did not
want to here it and tried to get away, but she just held tighter and tighter.
I finally gave in and really began to ball my eyes out. I don't want him to
die is all I could say. Me either son lets go back in. When we got back
inside the doc was waiting and looked at my mom and and shool his head no. I
looked up at her and saw that she was ready to cry so we just held each other
and and cried together and all she kept saying was we ar going to be allright

leaning on Barry and he had his arm around me and I heard him say I will help
him watch you too my friend and then he squeezed me tight,
