			     Chapter Forty Six

(Keith's turn)

Keith woke up around noon on Sunday, took his shower and decided to take
some sun on his terrace off his study. He ate his breakfast, and Jeffrey
applied some sun screen lotion on his back, while he laid on his chaise
longue to enjoy the sun's warm rays. He kept thinking about the Phill
fiasco. He felt hurt by this, but he knew this was right. He also thought
about what Elijah told him about Martin. Martin is a bright, soft spoken,
sweet and gentle guy. He is very cute looking, too. He just turned 14 a
week ago. Keith and his cousins had gone to his birthday party. Keith also
realized Martin often tried to imitate his and his cousin's style, buying
the same clothes, and was often where they would go. After thinking about
this, he guessed Elijah was right about Martin's feelings toward them.

He began calling his two cousins, and then remembered they were still busy
with Matt and Mike visiting them for the weekend. `Maybe I should go and
join them instead of moping around here alone`, he thought to
himself. `Nah! They are having fun together, I would break their mood if I
did this.`

Just then, he noticed the message light on his master console blinking. He
hadn't noticed it when he came in late last night, which was unusual for
him. He went and got his message. Phill!!! Phill wanted him to call him?
What could that be about? They had broken up just two days ago.

Keith's curiosity got the best of him, so he dialed Phill's number.

"Hello, this is Keith Ericson. Phill called yesterday and asked that I
return his call," Keith said when Phill's Dad picked up the phone.

"Oh, hello, Keith. Phill is in his room. The band decided they needed a
little break in their practice schedule, so he is here. Let me tell him you
are on the line."

"Thank you, sir," Keith replied. (Keith is very respectful to his
elders. In fact, the only older person that this doesn't apply to is me!!!!
He gives me shit constantly!!! How did I let this happen? Course, I give
back more than I receive!!! Hehehe)

"Hello, Keith?" Phill asked.

"Yeah. Hi, Phill."

"You aren't still mad at me, are you?" Phill asked.

"No, Phill. Why would you ask that?" Keith asked, somewhat taken back.

"Never mind. I'm glad. We have had some problems. Jimmy's Dad ran off with
his girlfriend. Jimmy's Mom kicked him out of the house when she found out
he was gay," Phill answered.

"Oh, no. That's terrible," Keith answered. "You aren't calling up to tell
me this is all my fault for buying the studio, are you?"

"No. I am sure it would have happened sooner or later. If David had the
studio up for sale without telling anyone, he might have been planning this
for a long time. But, he was our agent, and we really don't know anything
about finding another one," Phill answered.

"So, you want me to help you find another one?" Keith asked.

"Yeah, if you would," Phill answered meekly.

"Phill, it would be my pleasure. Every time I tried to do something nice
for you, you just seemed to get madder and madder at me. I would love to be
able to help you. I really would like you and Robbie to be friends with me
and my cousins. Maybe, the two of you could come to one of our houses one
weekend like Matt and Mike did," Keith said.

"Well, we would appreciate any help you could be. Robbie and I had a big
fight. I hope we can get back together, but I just don't know right now,"
Phill said.

`Oh, no. I am not going back down that road again,` Keith thought to
himself. The phone was not a good way to say that to Phill, though, so
Keith took another approach. "Phill, I am sorry to hear that. I am sure it
is just temporary, though. Everyone has arguments. Mark, Alex, and I
sometimes have arguments among ourselves, but it doesn't last very
long. Look, why don't I do this? I need thirty to forty five minutes to
shower and get changed. Then, I will come pick you up and we can talk. How
does that sound? Maybe I can help you figure out a way to get you and
Robbie back together."

"You would do that for me?" Phill asked, really touched by the gesture.

"Yes, in a heart beat. We need to get something understood, but then I
would really like to be your friend from now on. What you are asking of me
is a very simple thing. Agents that don't have hot clients don't make any
money, right? I think I can get you one easily. All I need to do is ask my
Dad to have someone ask around. You might could have one by tomorrow or the
next day. Would that be soon enough?" Keith asked.

"Keith, that would be awesome. I really appreciate it. Can you call me from
the limo when you are close to my house so I can make sure and be ready?"
Phill asked.

"Certainly. I should be there in maybe an hour and a half. Is that OK?"
Keith asked.

"That's perfect. My Mum and Dad have asked me to do a few things around the
house, and I haven't done them yet. That will give me time to do them, and
still have plenty of time before you get here. Thanks a lot, Keith, OK?"
Phill said.

"No problem. I am just happy you are finally letting me do something for
you in return. I still owe you a lot for London, you know?" Keith asked.

"You don't owe me anything. I do appreciate this, though," Phill answered.

"OK, I'll see you in an hour and a half. Bye," Keith said.

"Bye."

Keith called Jeffrey to get his shower ready. He was in a good mood. He
liked doing things for his friends, and he really did hope Phill would
remain his friend for a long time. Robbie, too. It would be nice if he
could do something to help them get back together.

Phill was also in a good mood. So good, he happily started to clean his
room, one thing he hated doing. Like most teenagers, clothing seemed to be
just fine lying on chairs, the floor, etc. Coat hangers were something that
just took too much time. (Hehehe - I am talking about MY REAL son now. The
easiest thing to do with his room is just burn it down occasionally and
rebuild.)

You would think that with Keith's and Phill's good intentions, maybe this
would help get Phill and Robbie back together, wouldn't you? Hey,
everything doesn't always work the right way in the real world.

                                               *****************************

"Hello?" Phill asked.

"Phill, this is Keith. We are only about five minutes away from your
house. I am calling like you asked to let you know," Keith said.

"OK, thanks. I am ready, so I will be watching for you at the front door,
OK?" Phill said.

"That would be great. I don't have lots of time, since I am supposed to
have dinner at my Grandfather's tonight. I did want to talk to you,
though," Keith answered.

"OK. See you soon. Bye," Phill said.

"Bye."

                                                ***************************

Robbie was attempting to read a book, but his heart wasn't in it. He had
flat refused to practice again today. He had come out of his room only
twice, to eat breakfast and lunch, and immediately went back to his room
when he was finished. He sat mostly staring out the window at Phill's
house, hoping that he would see him.

He saw the limo turn the corner and immediately knew who it was. As soon as
it stopped, Phill ran out of his house and got in. Robbie just stared with
his mouth open as it drove away.

`It sure didn't take him long to go running back to Keith, did it?` Robbie
thought to himself, as he threw the book across the room.

                                                ***************************

"Hi, Keith. You don't know how much I appreciate you coming all the way
over here just to talk to me," Phill said, as he got in the limo.

"You don't need to thank me, Phill. I wanted to be here for you. Now, tell
me what your argument with Robbie was all about. That is more important
than us talking about getting you a new agent," Keith answered.

"All I did was say out loud that I thought I would call you and see if you
could help us, like you are doing. Robbie had a fit. He said that all I
ever do is think about you, and that he is tired of you always coming
between us," Phill said quickly, tears forming at the corners of his eyes.

Keith took Phill's hands in his and said, "Look, I need to say this
first. I really did love you when we were in London. I think I will always
love you, but not that way any more. I will love you as a friend for
everything you did for me. I have done a lot of thinking since we got back
here from London. I really love my cousins. We are really happy
together. No matter what happens between you and Robbie, all we can ever be
is friends from now on. I want us to be really close friends, but just
friends. OK?"

Phill just looked him the eyes, and nodded his head yes. "Thanks for
understanding, Keith."

"This is now what both of us want, isn't it? Good. Now let's talk about
Robbie and see if I can help my friend get his lover back," Keith said,
smiling. "I really want to be friends with Robbie, too. It would be lots of
fun if both of you could come visit Mark, Alex, and I sometime. We wouldn't
do anything together, of course, but you and Robbie would have your own
suite, which would be completely private. We would all be together until
bed time, and then leave you alone. Would you like that?" Keith asked.

"Yeah, that would be great," Phill said, finally smiling himself.

"OK, why don't I do this? I can call Robbie after I let you out and explain
that we really don't love each other anymore. Either of us. And we won't,
ever again. If he hears it coming from me, I think he will believe
it. Then, give him a few minutes to think it over, and then go see
him. I'll bet you will be back together by the end of the day," Keith said.

"That sounds really good. You already have his number, don't you?" Phill
asked.

"Yeah. OK, if we have that problem settled, now let's talk about the
band. You know I still want you to continue to practice at the studio,
right? There will be new management starting Monday, but I will make sure
you have your own key and can come and go as you please. We aren't sure if
we are going to leave the studio there, or move it closer to LA yet. I'll
talk to Dad tonight about the agent, and one of his employees will start
looking for one on Monday," Keith said.

Phill just laughed. "One little limo ride and maybe all my problems have
bee taken care of. Can you fix everyone's problems that easy, Keith?"

"No, I don't think so. This just makes sense to me. If you and Robbie are
fighting now because of me, I feel responsible, anyway. If I can end the
fight by talking to Robbie, I would love to be able to do that for you,"
Keith said softly.

"It had nothing to do with you, Keith, and you know it. But, you and Robbie
talking might make it never happen again. Thanks a lot, OK?" Phill asked.

"No problem. Now, are you ready to go back so I can make my call to Robbie?
The sooner I take you home, the quicker you and Robbie can be in each
other's arms," Keith said.

"Yeah, let's go back," Phill said, smiling.

                                                ***************************

Robbie was pacing back and forth in his room. He had already torn the book
he was reading that Phill had given him into shreds. Pages and pieces of
pages were strewn all over his room. He saw the limo turn the corner out of
the corner of his eye. He couldn't believe they had returned so quickly. He
stood at his window, waiting to see what happened.

The limo stopped and the driver got out to open the back door. "Thanks
again, Keith. You have really helped me today," Phill said, hugging Keith
to him.

"No problem, my friend. Glad to do it," Keith said, hugging him back.

Phill got out of the car, and started for his house, after waving goodbye
to Keith. The limo drove off, and Phill looked up to see Robbie looking
down furiously at him from above.

You ever see a cartoon where all you have to do is wave a red flag in front
of a bull, and it makes him so mad he can't see straight? Red may make real
bulls crazy, too, for all I know. Not going to find out!!!! hehehe I do
know that one simple hug between friends completely pushed Robbie over the
edge.

                                                *****************************

"We have to do something. We can't just let them stay mad at each other,"
Paul said.

All of us were sitting in the den, talking about the fight that Robbie and
Phill had in front of everyone. We had all hoped that everything would be
back to normal this morning, but judging from Robbie's actions, it was
worse today than yesterday.

"I don't know what we can do. Robbie won't even talk to any of us right
now, much less Phill. I think we are going to have to just leave them alone
for a little while and see if they can work it out on their own. I don't
think they will stay mad long," I said.

"At that point, we heard a knock on the door, and Phill opened it and
walked in before anyone could get up. "Sorry for barging in, but I have to
talk to Robbie right now. Keith has agreed to help us get an agent. He
picked me up and we talked for a while. He is even going to call Robbie and
tell him he doesn't love me anymore. Robbie saw me get out of the limo,
though, and I have to explain right now," Phill said, as he turned and ran
up the stairs.

Just then, the telephone rang and Paul went to answer it.

Phill didn't even knock on Robbie's door, he opened it and was inside
before Robbie could stop him. "Robbie, look, let me explain. You don't
understand."

"I never seem to understand, do I? Anytime I catch you with him, you always
have a good excuse," Robbie yelled.

"Robbie, listen. Keith doesn't love me anymore. It's all over. He wants to
be both of our friend. He wants to help us get back together again," Phill
said.

"You got one thing right that you said. It IS all over. For you and me!!!
Now, get out of here and leave me alone," Robbie yelled. When Phill just
stared back at him, and didn't attempt to leave the room, Robbie just
walked past him like he wasn't there, and started down the steps.

"Hello, Miller's residence," Paul said.

"Hi, this is Keith. Is this Paul?" Keith asked.

"Yeah. Hi Keith. I don't know if this is a good time to talk right now,"
Paul said, his eyes wide.

"I want to talk to Robbie. It's important. I think it will help. Can I
speak to him, please?" Keith asked.

Just then, Robbie walked into the room. "Robbie, this is Keith. He says it
is important. You want to talk to him?" Paul asked.

"No fucking way. Why would I want to talk to him? What does he want to do,
gloat over stealing my ex-boyfriend back," Robbie yelled.

Phill came running down after him. "Robbie, wait. Please. Let's just go
somewhere and talk this out," Phill begged.

"Just leave me the fuck alone. I just need to be by myself for a while. I'm
going home. My real home. All of you just leave me alone," Robbie screamed,
as he opened the door a ran outside.

Everyone got up and ran outside after him. We were a little late. He was
already two houses away and sprinting. He would run as fast as he could the
entire six blocks home.
