Simon's Story Part 22
Secrets Cause Trouble!

The week flew by and before anyone realised it was Friday night again.
Robert had spent the week hatching schemes and being very secretive. He
thought he had been really clever and that Simon didn't suspect a thing.
Unfortunately, he was mistaken.
"What are you up to?" Simon asked as Robert put the phone down.
"Oh. Nothing." Robert replied thinking hard because he knew Simon wouldn't
accept that as an answer.
"You've been sneaking off all week. I know you're up to something and I
want to know what?" Simon persisted.
	"I can't say."
"Oh be like that then. We never have secrets, not until now that is." Simon
walked off pouting.
"Come on Si'. I don't like keeping secrets from you, but I don't have a
choice." But it was too late. Robert heard the back door close with a bang.
Quickly he ran up stairs into his parent's bedroom and recovered the box
from under the bed. It was quite big and brightly coloured. Quickly he got
the wrapping paper from the living room and wrapped the box and it's
contents. The hard bit was next, how could he get all he wanted to say on to
the small label. When he had finished, he hid the present back under his
parent's bed again.
Robert went down stairs and watched TV. Something felt wrong, but what?
There was something missing. Arthur came in and sat beside him. Robert
hadn't noticed who it was and absent-mindedly draped his arm around his
shoulder.
"Robby!" Came a high pitched cry. Immediately Robert removed his arm.
"Sorry Squirt." Robert said without thinking. Arthur just glared at him.
Robert knew what was wrong now, no Simon. They always watched TV together.
In fact they did just about everything together and Since Christmas when
their timetables had been reorganised they also had quite a lot of lessons
together too. Robert looked at the clock. It showed 10:15 with the little PM
light flashing in the bottom of the display. Where was Simon? It wasn't like
him to go out and not say where he was going.
By now, Robert was feeling quite depressed. Why had he been so blunt with
his lover? They had been apart for no more than half an hour, but it felt
more like a couple of hours and just to complicate matters Gary walked in.
"Where's Si'?" He asked. Robert was immediately put on the spot. Should he
tell the truth and get Simon in to trouble or lie and risk something nasty
having happened to him? Robert didn't really have a choice.
"I don't know dad." Robert relied. He hated dropping Simon in it, but knew
it would be much worse if something had happened to him.
"What do you mean you don't know?" Gary asked. It was obvious he was
annoyed by the tone of his voice.
"He wanted to know what I had been planning and I wouldn't tell him. Then
he stormed out."
"When will you boys learn to do as you are told!" Gary paused for a few
moments. "Take Arthur with you and see if you can find him, but be back here
by quarter to."
Despite Arthur's objections the two brothers went out to search for Simon.
They started at the small park and then as many of Simon's haunts as they
could get round. They turned for home at 20 to 11. As they cut through a
small path back to their road they spotted a bundle on the ground. The light
was poor so the brothers approached it with care. As they got to within a
metre of the bundle there was a groan.
"Where did that come from?" Arthur asked shakily.
"I think it was the bundle." It dawned on Robert just then what the bundle
was. "NO!" He shouted at the top of his voice. They knelt down and carefully
rolled the bundle on to its back.
"Greg!" Robert said in surprise. What happened?"
"NO PLEASE! Leave me alone!" Greg said. He sounded in pain.
"Greg, its Robert." Turning to Arthur, "Fetch dad quickly." Robert said
with a note of panic in his voice. Just at that moment there came a shout.
"OY YOU! Leave him alone!" The voice sounded unfamiliar.
Robert looked up in shock. He was determined his friend wasn't going to be
hurt any more than he was already. A shadow was coming down the path towards
him. Robert stood up and raised his fists ready to defend his friend as best
he could. The shadow got closer and closer. Robert's heart was pounding in
his chest. `If only Si' was here' he thought to himself. The shadow stopped.
Robert stepped over his friend so that he was now between his friend and the
shadow.
"FUCK OFF AND LEAVE US ALONE!" Robert said, but couldn't disguise the fact
that he was getting scared.
"What's going on Robby?" Came a now familiar voice.
"Si'?" There was an air of relief in his voice.
"Yea. What happened?" Simon asked as both boys knelt down either side of
their friend.
"I don't know. He hasn't said. Arthur's gone for dad." A few minutes later
Gary turned up with Arthur and Simon was sent to get an ambulance. The
police showed up too. For the next hour Robert, Simon and Arthur were
quizzed about what had happened by the officer, but none of them knew which
only complicated matters. As far as they could tell, Greg had been mugged!
By midnight the entire family was sat in the sitting room drinking tea and
discussing what had happened. It was then that Simon was confronted with his
going out and not telling anyone where he was going.
"You all know how we, Robby and I, hate secrets especially between us. Well
I had to either go out or do something horrible. So I went out." Simon
explained.
"You sod! You scared the crap out of me!" Robert said angrily. "But thanks
any way." He added in a softer voice.
"It was the sensible thing to do, but you should have told one of us first.
It could have been YOU that Robby and Arthur found in the ally."
"I know." Simon said sincerely. "Sorry." Then turning to Robert he wrapped
his arms around him and hugged him tightly.
"Forgive me?" Simon asked Robert. Robert answered with a kiss on his lips.
How could he stay angry with Simon for long? As far as the family was
concerned, the incident was closed and they all learnt something from it.
That night, despite their nudity the two lovers just hugged and kissed until
they fell asleep.
Saturday dawned bright and clear. Simon decided it was a good day to go
into town and have a look around the shops. The chores were done in
double-quick time and the four boys; Simon, Robert, Arthur and baby Michael
set off. It was quite a special day because it was the first time Simon had
taken his baby brother in to town. They decided to use the bus. It was
quicker than walking, but it also meant the hassle of messing around with
the baby buggy getting it on and off the bus.
They were the last people off the bus at the bus station and with Michael
safely back in his buggy they set off for the Mall. They browsed around the
shops and Simon bought a new all in one for Michael with some help from a
shop assistant and some clothes for himself. He did how ever get a little
impatient with Robert in a music store while he decided what CD to buy, but
eventually they were all satisfied with their shopping and headed for home.
Both Simon and Robert spent the afternoon up in their room singing and
clowning around. Robert was preparing for a concert with the choir and
wasn't happy with the way he was singing his solo, to everyone else it
sounded perfect. Towards the end of the afternoon Robert made a decision
that was to cause both of them to nearly miss their tea.
	"Dre-e-e-eam, dream, dream, dre-e-eam. Dre-e-e-eam, dream, dream. When I
want you, in my arms. When I want you and all your charms. When ever I want
you all I have to do is Dre-e-e-eam." Robert sang. He never got to finish
the song because Simon flung himself on Robert and kissed him so
passionately that it reduced them both to tears of happiness. Not long
afterwards the boys were busy enjoying each other's bodies on the bed. This
was how Arthur found them when he opened the door and walked in on them.
Discretely he closed the bedroom door again, knocked on it and waited for an
answer before going in again. This time the boys were under the covers
looking rather hot and flustered.
"Tea's ready!" Arthur said with a grin. "Mum has shouted a couple of times.
I guess you were too busy," he sniggered, "to hear her."
"Oh, ok. We'll be down in a minute." Simon replied. They went down for tea
a few moments later. As they entered the kitchen Mike made an observation.
"Jesus! Don't you two think of anything else? You make rabbits look
celibate!" Robert blushed violently, turned and rushed out of the kitchen.
"Well done Gary." Rose said to her husband.
"Well someone needs to say something. It's getting out of hand." Simon
turned to go after Robert.
"Leave him Si'. He'll be ok. He's just growing up and someone here hasn't
realised it yet." Rose said seriously as she turned to look at Gary. Simon
sat down, but made a mental note to complain about the noise next time he
heard Gary participating in his conjugal rights. Robert came down for his
tea an hour later. Simon reheated it in the microwave for him.
"You are too sensitive you know." Simon said to Robert as he sat across the
table from him.
"I can't help it. It's my hormones." Robert replied.
"That's what that thing between your legs does." Simon said with a snigger.
	"Eh?"
"Makes whores moan!" Simon by now was in fits of laughter. Robert gave him
a puzzled expression.
"Oh, so I am queer now am I?" Robert started to giggle. "I only love you!"
They both fell about in fits of laughter.
"So I am a whore am I?" Simon asked trying to keep a straight face.
"No. No. Oh Si'!" He managed to get out as he realised Simon was joking.
Shortly after Robert had finished, there was a knock at the door. Simon
answered it. It was Alex and Sarah-Louise. He stood chatting with them for a
couple of minutes. They wanted to go out as a foursome. Simon thought this
was a good idea, but suggested they all met down at the small Park, as it
may not be such a good idea for Sarah-Louise to meet up with Arthur. It was
agreed and five minutes later Simon and Robert were off to the park.
Sarah-Louise and Alex were sitting on the bench hand in hand, chatting.
They shuffled along when Simon and Robert arrived and all four of them sat
talking about pop music and the usual teenage gossip. When Simon mentioned
his birthday was coming soon. Alex, who was partially in the know, side
stepped the subject. He was quite tactful about it. He suggested going down
to the local coffee bar as it was getting dark. All of them thought this was
a good idea, the only problem was that Robert and Simon would have to behave
or the older teenagers could turn nasty. Most of Robert and Simon's friends
were ok with their sexuality, but none of them were sure how other teenagers
would feel about it.
At about ten, Simon suggested the trees in the small park would be a good
place where they could go and tell ghost stories. They all jumped at the
idea, besides it meant Simon and Robert could relax their charade and be
themselves without any worries. Both Alex and Simon knew they would be on
the receiving end of some very pleasant experiences that night. Sarah-Louise
and Robert were easily scared by stories of the supernatural and the like.
Sarah-Louise told the first story. It was more of a love story really, but
no one really cared. Robert told the next. It was spookier than
Sarah-Louise's story and he ended up holding Simon's hand. By the time Alex
had finished his story, well, Robert was all but sitting on Simon's lap.
This gave the others a good laugh. Robert decided to tough it out and stay
put. Simon's story gave them all the creeps and Sarah-Louise ended up sat on
Alex's lap. Something Alex was only too happy to allow. From then on the
stories became erotic and by the end of one, Simon and Robert were joined at
the lips with hands wandering. Robert told the next and Sarah-Louise was
quite happy to get close to Alex and allow a little light petting. By 11 all
four of them were quite horny, but time had the better of them and so the
group split up and went their own ways. Alex took Sarah-Louise home and
Simon took Robert home, but not before a last kiss and grope before going
into the yellow glow of the street lamps. Needless to say, the rabbits were
busy that night!
Just before lunch the next day, Robert was picked up from the house by one
of the more senior choir members and was driven off to the concert. Needless
to say he was both excited and nervous. It was one of the biggest concerts
he had performed in. His solo was also a big one. This left Simon at home on
his own. Rose and Gary were there, but they weren't the same as having
Robert with him. He felt lost and alone. He started several things, but
completed none. Nothing was the same without his Robby helping. He started
to appreciate what Robert went through last Friday night when he stormed off
out of the house.
The front door closed with a bang! Simon almost flew out of his chair and
in to the hall. It was Arthur. Disappointment hit him like a brick thrown by
an Olympiad. He sat down, dejected and lonely. Arthur was quick to pick-up
on this and try as he did wasn't able to cheer Simon up. When Robert
eventually came home, full of his new triumphs with the choir he was shocked
to see Simon in such a state. Simon had dashed to the door every time it had
opened. Each time was a false alarm, no Robert. When he did come in Simon
just sat there thinking it was another false alarm, until Robert wrapped his
arms around him and gave him such a kiss that they were both left
breathless. For the rest of the night, wherever Robert went, Simon was close
behind. Despite their separation, that night was a quiet one for the boys.
All Simon wanted was to be close to Robert, who was exhausted and just
snuggled down with his lovers arms wrapped around him as they fell asleep.
Wednesday evening was the next excitement that week. Perhaps excitement is
the wrong word, but you'll see what I mean. The boys got home from school
and had settled in to their homework. It was almost done when Gary called
them both down stairs. They found him, Rose and Arthur sitting in the living
room. Gary was holding an official looking letter.
"This letter," Gary said holding it up, "concerns us all, but mainly Simon
and Michael." He paused unsure how to proceed. "We have to go to Court for
the adoption hearing." He paused again looking closely at Simon and Robert.
Simon stared back at him. His heart was pounding in his chest like a
marathon runner's at the end of the race. He became nervous, almost scared.
"That's when they'll decide if we can stay or not?" Simon said half
stating, half-asking.
	"That's right son." Gary replied.
"How soon afterwards will we know the result?" Robert asked. He was scared
he would loose his lover.
"I don't know." Gary replied. The boys went across to Rose and hugged her
tight. She looked at Gary. Her expression showed him just how scared the
boys were.
"Why can't we just keep them?" Arthur asked.
"It's not quite as simple as that Arthur. The Court has to be sure that we
are the best people to look after Simon and Michael."
"What will happen if they say no?" Arthur asked.
"Don't think about that!" Simon shouted at him. "They can't say no! They
mustn't!"
"Ok. Si'. But we have to face the possibility however small that they may
say just that." Robert said quietly. It wasn't something he wanted to think
about either, but he knew they must face up to the possibility.
That night, the boys held on tight to each other as they slept. But just
after four Simon woke with a start disturbing Robert. Simon was shaking all
over. Perspiration was forming little beads all over his face.
"What is it Si'? What's wrong?" Robert asked sleepily.
	"That dream again."
"Which one?" Robert asked. By now he was sitting by the side of Simon, his
arms wrapped securely around Simon's chest and shoulders.
"You know, the one with the train."
"The one where you save the little boy from being run over by the train."
Robert said softly. Simon wrapped his arms around Robert forcing him to over
balance and they both fell back onto the bed. Simon nodded slowly.
"It's ok." Robert said reassuringly. "I've got you. You're safe here with
me." He eased his hug with one arm and gently started stroking the back of
Simon's head and neck. Simon was still shaking. For him it was one of the
worst nightmares he had ever had.
"I know." Simon said shakily. "But it's the second time I've had this one.
Robby, I don't want to die!" Simon's tears ran freely down over Robert's
shoulder, formed a small puddle in the little hollow behind his collar bone
and then down his chest. Robert spent almost an hour calming Simon down and
getting him back to sleep while he just lay there. He couldn't sleep. The
pictures of his lover as he lay beside the track, between the train wheels
and the platform wall made sure of that. They had discussed this nightmare
in depth when Simon had it the first time and Robert was upset by it then.
`How can I go through all that again.' He thought to himself, but he knew he
must. There was no way he was going to let his lover suffer alone, not if he
could prevent it.
Gary poked his head around the door at seven. Robert explained what had
happened and reluctantly Gary agreed to let the boys sleep in, but they had
to go to school that afternoon. School was too important to miss especially
with the court case coming up.
At school that afternoon, both Simon and Robert took an awful lot of grief
from the older boys. It was only one or two boys that kept on at them. Most
of the others didn't care. Simon coped with it reasonably well until one boy
got pushy during afternoon break and Simon hit him. Unfortunately for Simon
his punch didn't land quite where he was aiming for and the boy lay in to
him hard and fast. It took two teachers to break up the ensuing fight. Simon
found himself stood outside the head's office with the other boy just down
the corridor. Both of them were in a real mess. Torn shirts, bruises on
their head and fists. `Why now? Why this close to the hearing?' Simon kept
asking himself as he stood there. It suddenly struck him. `Where was Robby?'
He hadn't seen him since the start of the fight. `It wasn't like him not to
be there, supporting him when he was needed. Even if it was only
emotionally. His tutor came through the door at the top of the stairs.
"I thought I could trust you to look after Robert!" She said angrily. Simon
was suddenly afraid. "Some of the other boys from the tutor group looked
after him while you were in this idiotic brawl!"
"Where is he? What has happened?" Simon asked in a panic.
"He's in sick bay." Came an angry response.
"I gotta go see him!" Simon said as he started to walk toward the stairs.
"Get back there." She said pointing back by the head's office door.
"Haven't you done enough!" She stormed off moments before the head's door
opened.
"Get in here boy!" Came the gruff voice of the headmaster. Simon hung his
head and walked in. By the time he was allowed to leave he felt more than
ashamed. He was under threat of suspension, but what's more, he had no idea
how Robert was. He thought about going to find out, but had been told to go
straight to class. With the mood the head was in, he didn't dare disobey
him. What's more, this may even come out at the hearing. He knocked the
classroom door and turned the handle. He had done exactly as he was told.
"Get out and sort yourself out boy. You brats think you can dress anyhow!
But not in my classes you can't!" The teacher said. Simon turned and walked
out. As he slammed the door he made a decision.
"Fuck school! Fuck the lot of them!" He yelled as he turned and ran down
the corridor banging the locker doors as he passed them. Down the stairs and
through the lower corridor to sick bay. He opened the door. One of the games
masters yelled at him to get out! He ignored him completely and gently
brushed Robert hair out of his eyes.
The master grabbed his arm and tried to pull him away. He wriggled free and
hugged Robert. He was beyond caring what others thought about them now. All
he wanted was `his Robby'.
"It's ok Tom." Came a soft female voice behind him. It was his tutor. Simon
knew that without turning round.
"Are you sure? He still a bit punchy." The games teacher asked.
"It's ok. I know exactly what he wants."
"Yea. And so do I. It's a bloody shame they banned the cane. It's what he
needs!" The master left leaving the door open.
"Well what are you waiting for?" His tutor asked. Simon looked at her.
"Well go on then. You've really landed yourself in it good and proper by
coming down here so you might as well make the most of it." Simon leaned
forward and gave Robert a tender kiss on his lips. Rose and Gary arrived
shortly afterwards. Simon explained what had happened. The whole story this
time, not the abridged version that the head got. Simon broke down and Rose
pulled him to her as she stroked Robert's hair.
"Where's dad?" Simon asked through his tears.
"Don't worry about him. You are in enough trouble young man without looking
for more." Rose replied.
"What happened to Robby?" Simon asked looking at his tutor.
"We think he had another panic attack, but much worse this time. When he
was found he had gone blue and was gasping for air. The secretary used a
large envelope and steadied his breathing before some of the boys brought
him in here. He'll be all right now. He's just resting." Simon walked round
to the other side of the couch giving Rose room to get to Robert. They were
both talking to him gently when Gary and the head came in.
"What the hell are you doing here?" The head asked gruffly.
"Some things in life are more important than School!" Simon said firmly as
he stood up and faced the head. His posture was almost threatening.
"Simon. Go soak you head!" Gary ordered. Simon left like a lamb.
Ms Wilson, the tutor, explained what she knew of the story to Gary, Rose
and the head filling in as much of the background as she dared. When Simon
returned the head looked at him in surprise.
"Why didn't you tell me this Simon." The head asked. He was now much
calmer.
"I didn't know about Robby then. If I had, do you think I would have stayed
hanging around outside your office when I could have been down here looking
after him?" Simon was getting angry again.
"Calm down Simon. Remember who you are talking to." Gary said with a glare
that told Simon to tread carefully. Simon left the room again. Ms Wilson
caught up with him outside. He was sitting on the step, his forearms on his
knees and face buried in his hands, crying his eyes out.
"What's wrong Simon? This isn't like you. You're normally the stronger of
the two." Ms Wilson said softly.
"What with court coming up and that f. . ." Simon stopped short. "That
idiot starting on us, I feel like I've really let mum and dad down." He
lifted his head. She was sat on the step beside him. He twisted to face her
and wrapped his long arms around her as he cried hard into her shoulder. The
door behind them squeaked as it opened.
"Si'!" Robert called. Simon looked up quickly.
"Robby!" He shouted back. Simon stood up and dashed toward him. Their arms
locked around each other and their lips met. Both boys were shaking like a
leaf. Simon broke the kiss.
"What about them." He said tilting his head back and to one side indicating
the windows around them.
"Fuck `em. Fuck `em all!" Robert said loudly resuming the kiss harder than
before.
"That will start the tongues wagging." Rose said to Gary.
"Who cares as long as they are happy." Gary replied, as he led his wife and
Simon lead Robert off to the car and home.
