Chapter two of Stay with Me!

      Stay with Me
      Chapter 2

The light of dawn shone through the small window into the hospital
room, illuminating the two small figures, one in the bed and another
sleeping in a chair right by it. Dylan's head rested uncomfortably in his
folded arms, leaning onto the bed, in the position he used to fall asleep
in class. His blond hair was gleaming in the light, before it was ruffled
lightly by another hand.

"Mmmm... mmmph..." Dylan mumbled groggily as he slowly raised his
head off of his arms. His eyes refused to open because of the direct
sunlight now shining in his face, so Dylan rubbed them fiercely with his
fists and blinked slightly to allow them to adjust.

"Good morning sunshine." a familiar, soothing voice eased its way
into his ears.

Remembering where he was, Dylan forcefully pried his eyes open. He
was greeted with the delicate face of his best friend, who had a warming
smile on his face despite the circumstances. Dylan wasted no time to
practically throw himself onto the bed and hug Codie fiercely, all the
while sobbing hard with his face buried in the pillow, his head laying
right next to Codie's. Codie returned his hug willingly as he turned his
head and gave Dylan a light kiss on the cheek, his own tears now making
their way down to the pillow.

"Oh Codie!! I'm... I'm so sorry!" Dylan managed to choke out between
sobs. "I'm the most horrible person in the world... I... I don't know what
I would do if I lost you..."

Codie smoothed Dylan's hair. "Shhh... its ok... You were worth it."

All that did was make Dylan cry harder. Being in a very emotional
state himself, Codie decided to keep quiet, giving both of them time to
calm down. For about ten minutes the boys cried in each other's arms, just
letting all of the built-up emotions from the past couple of days run
free. Finally, they were down to just sniffles.

"This feels nice..." Dylan mumbled, prompting a chuckle from the
younger boy.

      "Yes, it sure does."

Blushing, Dylan raised his head off of the pillow and gave Codie a
puckish grin, apparently not intending to say that out loud.

Codie reached a hand out towards Dylan's face and rubbed away the
tears with his thumb. "So... does this... does this mean you're gay too?"
Codie asked cautiously.

      Dylan's face didn't change. "I... I don't know... I like girls the
same way I like you... just you. And guess what?" Dylan leaned in close,
his eyes merely inches from Codie's. "I pick you."

"A wise choice indeed." Fighting back new tears, Codie managed to
reply in a quivering voice, grinning slightly. "Could you do me a favor
though?"

      "What's up?"

"Pinch me. I must still be out from the sedative." Codie replied with
a smirk.

Grinning, Dylan pinched Codie hard on the leg, prompting a squeal
from the younger boy.

"Ok! I'm awake! You can stop now!"

Instead of answering, Dylan leaned in and sealed the younger boy's
mouth with his own. He could feel Codie's whole body suddenly become stiff
before it relaxed slowly.

Dylan gently massaged the dainty pair of lips with his tongue before
pushing it past them as he ran it along the outside of Codie's teeth. He
felt the pearly white gate open slightly as the luscious piece of flesh
hidden behind it poked out of its hiding place and danced with Dylan's.

The boys made out for about a minute before breaking their kiss
reluctantly because of the need to breathe correctly. Both boys' faces were
flushed from their minute of excitement.

"All the girls are gonna be so jealous of me..." Codie sniggered.

Dylan burst out laughing. He very much enjoyed Codie's ability to put
a humorous spin on almost any situation. "Too bad for them..." Dylan
whispered in Codie's ear, sending an excited tingle down the younger boy's
spine. "I'm taken."

"I must be the luckiest kid in the world..." Codie sniffled, unable
to hold his tears back any longer. "I've liked you for more than half a
year now, Dylan. I've never dreamed that I'd actually have you. It... it
hurt so much when you walked out of my room the other day, and when you
pushed me in school. I didn't even care if you liked me or not by then. All
I wanted was to be able to be your friend again... and now..."

Dylan held a finger to his friend's lips. He lay down on top of
Codie, their foreheads touching and their eyes piercing into each other.

"You have no idea how it much it pained me to see you in this state
last night. I thought back and I realized that I was the cause of it
all. Whenever I think back to how horrible I treated you for the past
couple of days I want to beat myself senseless. I don't deserve to be with
someone like you, someone so gentle and smart and funny... I'm the lucky
one."

"So... I guess we're just a couple of lucky bastards huh." Codie
laughed through his tears, and was rewarded with a grin from the older boy
and a peck on the nose.

"Yes we are." Dylan shifted a little on top of Codie. "Although we
could've done without this..." Added Dylan grimly, indicating the
stitched-up wound on Codie's wrist.

Codie was about to reply before he felt something.

"Your uh... your gun is diggin' into my hip." Codie replied ala Ace
Ventura.

Laughing and blushing furiously, Dylan wiggled his pelvis and gently
thrust a couple of times, making his friend moan adorably. He could feel
Codie's own gun through the sheets.

Codie was surprised when Dylan suddenly snaked a hand under the sheet
and grabbed his dick. He didn't expect the older boy to be so
aggressive. Gasping when he felt the hand close around his rock-hard
pecker, Codie, with a degree of self-control greater than any mortal,
pushed the hand away.

"Not now..." Codie said breathlessly, his face a deep shade of
red. "People might come in.....would be kinda hard to explain."

Realizing that he was right, Dylan pulled his hand out from under the
sheet. He was surprised at his own daftness, but didn't feel weird or gross
or anything like that at all. It was his first time touching a dick other
than his own, and he was quite excited. But a hospital of all places is
definitely not the place for such things, so Dylan just lay on top of Codie
with his head cradled in the younger boy's chest. Nothing was said, and
nothing needed to be.

A noisy cough from outside disrupted the boys' bonding. "That's your
mom," Dylan said, turning his head to face the door. "She slept outside,
since there wasn't enough room in here."

Codie took a quick scan around the room. "You're right... this is
even smaller than your room."

"Hey!" Dylan jabbed Codie playfully in the ribs, making his friend
squeal cutely again. "I'll go tell her you're awake. She's been awake most
of the night I think..."

Dylan unwillingly climbed down the bed after giving Codie another
kiss, and went outside to inform everyone of the current situation.

      Well, not all of it.

Dylan and Teresa watched from outside as Lily rushed in teary eyed
and hugged her son in the same manner Dylan did.

"You foolish foolish boy! What were you thinking?!" Lily choked out
between sobs, clutching her son tightly in her arms.

"I wasn't... I'm sorry mom. I really am. I'm fine now..." Codie said,
looking outside into Dylan's eyes, flashing him a warm smile, a smile that
Dylan returned. "I'm just fine."

Despite Dylan's protest, Teresa sent him to school. He didn't really
look forward to explaining what happened to everyone he knew at school, but
what he really worried about was the prospect of facing Kim again. She
didn't know what happened yet to Codie... no one knew, but that won't be
for long after Lily calls in sick for him. Dylan sighed. He knew that this
was coming; he has to grit his teeth and face it. He knows better now than
to avoid whatever he didn't like.

Dylan saw Kim bore down on him like a raging bull as he went through
the doors to his school. It was apparent the she was about to let shit fly
before Dylan held up a hand and started talking first.

"Kim, I'm sorry for the way I acted yesterday. I've already
apologized to Codie and we're friends again." Dylan said as calmly as he
could, which was not easy with Kim's death-glare. However, when Dylan said
that, Kim's gaze eased considerably.

"Well I hope you realized how much grief you caused him," Kim said,
her voice still louder than usual, missing the brief expression of sadness
shooting across Dylan's face.

"Yeah... I know exactly how much..." Dylan replied quietly with his
eyes glued to the ground.

"Where is he? I didn't see him get off of the school bus today."
Kim eased her tone, knowing now that the boy was already feeling awful.

Dylan hesitated. He wanted to tell her, but he was afraid that Kim
might freak out and "accidentally" punch him, which, Dylan knew by
experience, didn't feel good. She might look frail, but she packed quite a
punch. But Dylan figured that it was still better for his health for him to
tell her rather than Kim finding out by herself.

"He... he's in the hospital." Dylan said just above a whisper.

	Kim stared.

"And why is Codie in the hospital?" She said after awhile, her
voice also quiet but sounding a lot more dangerous than Dylan's.

Swallowing, Dylan gave a brief update on what has happened between
him and Codie, save the more-than-friends part, all the while readying his
arm to shield his face if necessary and making sure he was at least an arms
length from her potentially hazardous swings.

The look on Kim's face was indeterminable after Dylan had
finished. The duo stood staring at each other for a while as other students
passed them by in a hurry, paying no particular attention to either of
them. It looked as if the two were stuck in stasis.

"Are you mad?" Dylan mumbled sometime later, lowering his head,
unable to stand the silence any more.

Once again, Kim's amazing self-control came in handy as she
resisted the urge to slug the younger boy in front of her. Figuring that
she won't get anywhere with that, Kim unclenched her fists, the expression
on her face being the only indication of how angry she is.

"You bet I am." Kim replied with her teeth clenched. "And I would
love to make you feel just how angry I am. But that won't get either of us
anywhere except a trip to the principal's office, and plus I can tell that
you're really sorry already."

Dylan remained silent and continued to stare at the ground. There
was no excuse; He acted like the typical bigot.

A hand made its way onto Dylan's shoulder. He jumped, noticing that
it was Kim's. However, her current expression did not suggest that he was
in any danger.

"I'm really sorry Kim..." Dylan mumbled in a soft voice. "I was a
total jerk. But I've seen what I have done and I will do my best to fix
it. Codie and I are even closer than before, and no one forced me or
anything. I really have to thank my lucky stars that I know Codie, and I
can't imagine what I would've done if he... if he..."

Dylan blinked a drop of tear out of his eye, which was immediately
rubbed away by Kim.

"This is the Dylan I know." Kim said gently, leaning in and hugging
the boy. "Let's go to class now, ok? We're attracting some unwanted
attention. We'll both go visit Codie after school, ok? It's gonna be fine."

Dylan nodded, still sniffling slightly. They both walked to their
classroom, ignoring the curious pairs of eyes that were following them.

School just wasn't the same without Codie around. The classes were
quieter and more orderly, the cafeteria food tasted even worse than usual,
and Dylan couldn't even concentrate for two minutes in a row. The image of
Codie's angelic face kept popping up into his mind, and he was finding it
next to impossible to focus on other things, not that he tried
to. Nevertheless, he gritted his teeth and gutted it through, the thought
of seeing Codie again after school being the only thing keeping him
going. Finally, the last bell rang.

"Oh good lord it's been a long-ass day..." Dylan exclaimed as he
approached Kim by her locker. She was still stuffing books in her backpack.

Kim turned her head around and gave Dylan a quick grin. "Not used
to school without you partner in crime eh?"

Dylan playfully slapped Kim on her shoulder. "Ya ready?"

Slinging her backpack over her shoulder, Kim stood up and kicked
her locker shut. "Let's go. But we should stop by the store and get some
get well stuff for Codie don'tcha think?"

"Uhh... Of course! My thoughts exactly."

	"Uh huh." Kim replied dryly.

The duo walked together out of the schoolyard and headed for the
general store, a mere 10 minutes away. Dylan bought a big Get Well helium
balloon, and Kim picked out an assorted flower bouquet.

"A balloon?" Kim said in an exasperated voice.

"A bouquet?" Dylan replied, mimicking her tone.

"Whatever..." Kim rolled her eyes, as they paid for their gifts and
headed out of the store. "So, how exactly are we gonna get to the hospital?
It's not exactly within walking distance you know, and I really don't fancy
taking a cab... But if we have to you're paying."

Dylan scoffed. "You don't think I've thought of that? I nagged mom
to pick me up today so I can go visit him after school. She's probably
waiting in the school parking lot right now."

Sure enough, they spotted Teresa's white Sedan parked in front of
the school as they got back.

"There you are," Teresa called out from inside the car. "I was
beginning to fear that you forgot."

"Me? Forget? Never!" Dylan exclaimed with a little too much
enthusiasm, prompting both ladies to chuckle.

"Ok Peter Pan, get in the car." Teresa motioned with her
hand. "Nice to see you Kim! Are you coming to visit also?"

"Hi Mrs. Kanefield. Yeah, I want to tag along too, if you don't
mind." Kim waved the bouquet.

"No problem dear. Hop in! I'm sure Codie would be happy to see you
too. Speaking of whom, let's not keep him waiting."

"Shotgun." Kim said nonchalantly after Teresa finished.

"D'OH!" Dylan's disappointed voice barked out as Kim climbed into
the front seat with a lopsided grin.

"You know I actually don't care if I sit in the front or back," Kim
turned around in her seat after awhile. "The whole joy is to see you get
disappointed because you didn't have a choice."

Instead of replying, Dylan just crossed his arms and stuck his
tongue out at Kim, who smirked again and turned to face the front. They
made small talk for the remainder of the ride to the hospital.

"I have a present for someone named Codie Merlando!" Dylan called
out as they approached Codie's room.

"Great! Is it edible?" They heard Codie's voice coming from inside.

Grinning, Dylan took big steps and walked into the room. Codie was
lying in bed watching TV.

"Homework!" Dylan exclaimed as he slammed several thick textbooks
down onto Codie's bed.

"Bouquet of assorted flowers, 14 dollars." Kim said as she walked
into the room, obviously trying to hold back a grin.

"Helium Get Well balloon, 2 dollars." Dylan followed up.

"That look on your face... priceless." Dylan and Kim said together,
trying their hardest to keep their face straight.

Codie burst into laughter, followed closely by the other two. "Hey
now! I'm the one who's supposed to make the bad jokes!" Codie managed to
say after the laughter died down somewhat.

"Couldn't let you have all the fun!" Dylan lightly shoved his
friend. "Look who came to visit!"

Codie rolled his eyes. "I'm not blind dude. Hey Kim! Thanks for the
flowers! How are ya?"

"Shouldn't I be asking that question?" Kim replied, smiling. She
leaned in and gave Codie a hug. Dylan took this opportunity so make a
series of hand gestures to inform Codie that she does not know about their
relationship. Codie nodded.

"I'm fine. Just a bit bored. Homework may not actually sound that
bad..."

"Yes... I suppose it is kinda boring when you're not wrecking havoc
in class with Dylan isn't it?" Kim pulled back and said, smirking.

"You know me too well, Kimberly." Codie responded in a solemn
voice, prompting a snicker from Dylan.

"So when do you get to go home?" Kim asked, now sitting down on the
bed.

"They told me that they could let me go tomorrow afternoon. But
after that they told me to rest and stay home for a week, under
supervision. Don't know why I have to be supervised though... They almost
made me go see a shrink, but the doc decided that I was not likely to try
this..." Codie held up his wounded arm. " ...again, which I definitely
won't, so he canceled it."

Kim thinks that she has an idea why they required supervision, but
she didn't say it. "Well, at least you get to miss school for
awhile... People might actually get stuff done now. I'll make sure Dylan
gets you homework for each day so you don't fall too far behind."

	"Hoo...ray." Codie replied flatly.

Kim pinched Codie's cheek. "Don't be cute."

Codie shrugged. "Can't help it. Born that way."

Over the next an hour and a half or so, the three friends exchanged
small talk and joked around like usual, as if nothing was quite out of the
ordinary. Kim noticed that Dylan and Codie acted a little too friendly with
each other -- excessive hair-ruffling, hugging, and the way they looked at
each other sometimes. Kim was glad that the two friends had indeed repaired
their friendship seamlessly, but a little bit of her kept nagging that
there might be something else going on.

Lily arrived sometime later, and to the trio's disappointment,
ushered Kim and Dylan out of the room, insisting that her son needs to
rest. Teresa came by after Dylan called her, and she sent both Kim and
Dylan back to their respective houses.

"Later Kim." Dylan called out as the car stopped in front of the
Blackmore residence.

"See ya in school Dyl. Good night Mrs. Kanefield!" Kim shouted as
she walked towards her house, waving.

"Good night dear!" Teresa waved back as she drove away.

"So..." She said to her son after driving for awhile, glancing at
Dylan briefly in the rear view mirror. "I see you patched things up pretty
nicely with everyone... I'm real proud of you honey."

"Thanks mom." Dylan replied happily. He breathed in and out deeply,
and then he lay down on the backseat, staring up at the car ceiling with a
content smile on his face. For the rest of the trip mother and son were
quiet. A cool thing they share is that they didn't feel the need to stuff
every single minute of the day with words. Sometimes a little silence can
be quite relaxing.

Later in the evening, the phone rang, and the caller ID showed that
it was Codie.

"Hey sexy! How ya feeling?" Dylan said cheerfully as he answered
the phone.

"Uhhh... Dylan? Is your mom there? My cell phone seems to be out of
battery so I used Codies..."

Dylan's face got so hot it could've melted butter to grease a pot
in seconds. "OH! Mrs. Merlando! I uh... that was an inside joke between me
and Codie... sorry about that uh hum... she's right here just a sec..."

Dylan can hear Lily chuckle on the line. He didn't want to hear
more so he ran full speed down stairs and handed the phone to his
mother. "It's for you..." Dylan muttered quickly, his face still red from
accidentally calling his friend's mother sexy.

"Thanks hon." Teresa took the phone. "What's with you?"

"Nothin'..." Dylan muttered and ran back upstairs.

"You said WHAT?!" came Codie's gleeful voice over Dylan's cell
phone ten minutes later.

"You heard me... you just want me to repeat it don't you?" Dylan
answered skeptically. He was lying in bed, stripped down to only his
boxers, tracing the outlines of the stars on his ceiling with a finger.

"Uh, yeah!" Codie exclaimed, laughing all the time. "It's so
friggin' hilarious! I gotta tell Kim!"

Dylan groaned. Great, more gigantic acts of idiocy by Dylan
Kanefield revealed, he thought.

"Oh... ummm... about this morning..." came Codie's gentle voice
over the phone. "That was kinda sexy..." he muttered shyly.

Dylan's heart began to beat faster as it pumped blood into his
pecker, which began to harden at the thought of their morning activities,
making a cute little tent in his boxers. "I thought so too." He breathed,
as he slowly massaged his dick in his boxer shorts.

"Are you in bed right now?" Asked Codie.

	"Yeah."

	"Are you jacking off?"

	"...yeah...?"

	"Are you wearing boxer shorts?"

	"...yeeeeah...?

"The blue one with orange stars?"

"Ok you're scaring me. Do you have a hidden camera set up in my
room you perv?" Dylan said playfully.

Codie giggled. "I wish. I slept over so many times I know your
evening schedule and which undies you wear on what day like you know the
dance pad."

The mention of sleeping over brought a previously thought-about
question to Dylan's mind.

"Hey Codie... umm... when you slept over or when I slept over at
your place, did you uhh... did you ever... you know... grope me or
anything?" Dylan asked uneasily.

There was nothing but silence on the other end of the line.

	"Codie?"

A faint sniffling sound could be heard from Codie's end.

"Codie? Please talk to me!" Dylan said a little louder than he
intended. He was still a little jumpy from the incident, and he did not
like it when Codie suddenly stops talking.

"I'm... I'm sorry..." Codie gasped out, evidently crying. "I... I
know it's wrong... to... to touch you without per... permission... but
I... I couldn't help myself I... you... you looked so cute when... when you
were... sleeping..."

"Codie! Listen to me! I just have one question." Dylan said as
calmly as he could through the phone.

	"Y... yeah?"

	"Was I any good?"

	"You... what?"

"Was I... fun?" Dylan asked in the huskiest voice he can muster.

	"You... you aren't mad?"

"If I'm mad for any reason, it would be for not being awake at
those times."

Dylan could almost see Codie smile.

"You're... you're so great..." Codie was still a sniffling a
little, but a smile could also be detected in his voice. "I still can't
believe I'm finally with you..."

"Uh uh uuh! Stop it!" Dylan cut in frantically. "We've been over
this... this is gonna turn into another sob session if it keeps going. I
think we've cried enough for the past couple of days don't you? You have me
and I have you -- It's that simple. We should be enjoying this instead of
crying because we think it's too good to be true, because in my opinion,
it's too good NOT to be true."

Codie giggled musically. "Sometimes I wonder what your real age is,
Dylan Kanefield... You seem too... what's the word... wise, for an
almost-12-year-old."

"Baby," Dylan cleared his throat lightly. "I come with the whole
package."

Codie laughed out loud. "Hey! You're taking over my job as the
lame-stuff-sayer!"

"Nah," Dylan answered back. "Think of me as your apprentice."

"Well you're fired," Codie said, still giggling slightly. "For
posing as a threat to the master... uh... sorry man, I gotta go. Mom is
insisting that I get some rest. You gonna come by my place tomorrow?"

"I would swim through a sea of fire, hike over a mountain of broken
glass, and cross over a field of... other hazardous things to see you."
Dylan declared solemnly. "Good night baby. Sweet dreams."

Determined to not let Dylan know that he's crying again, Codie
tried hard to stop his voice from trembling. "Good night." Then he hung
up. "I love you..." he gently whispered.

Dylan laid his cell phone on the nightstand. No matter how hard he
tried, he could not wipe off the silly grin on his face. Words could not
express how lucky he felt to have Codie be his boyfriend. He looked down,
and saw that his pecker was still painfully hard.

Dylan shucked off his boxers. His cute little boner pointed at a
rough 45 degree angle from his tummy. He gripped it firmly with his fist,
his legs spread slightly, as he began to jack off again slowly. He moaned
with pleasure as he thought back to the brief moment when he had Codie's
dick in his hand, imagining that he was jacking Codie off. He increased his
tempo gradually as more and more erotic scenes with his boy began to take
shape in his mind, flashing before his eyes like a slideshow.

All too soon, the familiar tension began to build up in his
balls. He pumped his cock furiously, lifting his cute clenched butt off of
the bed, all the while moaning and squealing indiscreetly. With a rather
loud, feral cry, Dylan dry-cummed into the air, his dick spasming
rhythmically in his hand as feelings of extreme pleasure coursed from his
groins through his entire body.

Panting heavily as he gradually came down from his orgasmic high,
Dylan still played with his pecker until it returned to its soft,
putty-like state. He started to reach for his boxers, but stopped midway
and grinned. He neatly folded them and put them under his pillow, and
covered his completely naked little body with his sheets. He discovered
that the sheets felt nice against his bare, smooth skin in the area usually
covered by his boxer shorts. He soon drifted to sleep, a small grin
indicating that whatever dream he was having, it was a good one.

"I love you too..." Dylan mumbled, as the unheard words soar
straight from one heart to another.

End of Chapter 2

And thus concludes chapter 2! I don't know if you noticed, but chapter 2
described exactly one day's event, no more no less. They won't all be like
this, though. I just happened to notice while I was finishing it up!
Anyways thanks for sticking with me so far.

Look for chapter 3 in the near future! Again, comments and criticisms are
worshipped -- sometimes with sacrificial goats! j/k Hmm.. I am being too
nice... perhaps the next chapter will end with a cliffhanger? *evil grin*
