Summer's Heat
Chapter One
"First Day"
By Marc.......
I loved summer, and I loved the beach. It was a long hard year, and
eighth grade was pretty cool, almost, but now that school was out, I had
every intention of making the best of it. Oh, but first let me tell you
about my self. My name Is Kevin McKeean, and I just turned fourteen years
old. I'm about 5 feet 5 and 1/2inches tall, and about 125 pounds soaking
wet, with dark brown hair and eyes to match. The girls in my class think
I'm cute but I don't see it. But they are always after me for this party,
or that movie. They make me sick! All they think about is how good they
look.
Well, enough about that. It's probably a good thing I love going to the
beach because where I live, there is about nothing much else to do. Oh,
didn't I say, Oh sorry, I live on Cape Cod, In Yarmouth, (what a name),
that's in Massachusetts. My Dad manages a time share resort right on Rt.
28. And we have this nice apartment in the rear of the complex. It is
really pretty neat. At least it's far enough away from the mundanes that
I don't have to bother with them if I don't want to. We have all kinds of
cool shit here too, indoor and outdoor pools, tennis and racquet ball,
hot tubs and saunas, even a gig exercise room with all those machines
that take all the work out of getting healthy.
My favorite haunt in town is Seagull Beach, the one at the end of South
Sea Ave. It is a nice place, but it can get a little packed with
tourismos. Clean white sand, low dunes, and close enough to walk to.
Around here in the summer, you definitely do not want to drive if you
don't have to. I can get anywhere in town on my bike faster than any car,
it also helps to know all the shortcuts, hehe.
It didn't take me too long to get into my summer routine, I get up kinda
early, usually around 9:00am, then I fly around the house doing my
chores. The parental unit insists that if I am going to have any chance
of getting spending money I've got to work for it.
It sucks! Well not really, Dad doesn't heap too much on me, and I figure
it's a kids job to gripe about things like chores, and curfew, and all
the other shit they think you just have to do to get a couple of bucks.
He say's it builds character, bull shit! All things considered I'd rather
be at the beach.
The Dad is really OK, as far as Dads go I suppose. From what I see about
most of my friends Dads, he rates about a nine I guess. He tries his
best, after all being just him and me, I guess we get along all right. My
Mom left when I was four, and I haven't seen her since. Sometimes I
think about her, on birthdays or Christmas.
At least I can tell him anything, well almost anything. There is
something that has been bothering me for a while now. I don't like dating
girls. For the past year or so, whenever I see a really nice looking boy
though, the lower regions stir to life. Last summer I think I had a boner
for six weeks, must be some sort of record. I wonder where I could check?
hehehe....
I tried to talk to the Dad about it once, but at the last minute I sacked
out. And my friends, WHOA! They'd freak out if they knew. Once in the
showers after phys. ed. class one of the boys popped a rod and all the
guys all started ragging on him something awful. I wanted to say
something to help the poor kid but I was afraid they would only say that
if I was helping him I must be a fag too. So I just kept my mouth shut,
but deep down inside it really hurt because I knew that could be me.
A couple of the guys were coming to meet me today, on their way to the
beach. Our first real official vacation day of the summer. I got my
standard beach stuff ready, Towels, Discman, extra batteries, sunscreen,
Oakleys. Yup that's about it. I threw everything in a small back pack
grabbed a couple of oranges going out the door and headed to the front
gate.
It was a nice day for the beach, clear sky, warm, perfect, and I was
psyched. As I neared the reception area of the resort the place was
crammed with people ready for a fun filled week of sitting in traffic and
waiting for a table for dinner. Then going for a walk up and down main
street taking pictures of people taking their picture while walking down
main street. You would think after a while they would catch on?
All I could think about was meeting my friends and hitting the sand for a
tan. Until a car pulled up and a nice looking lady and a slice of the
sweetest eye candy I'd ever seen, got out and walked into the restaurant
of the resort. As the blonde God held the door for her, he turned and
caught me staring with my mouth hung open. The boy gave me a shy smile,
then turned and went in behind the lady, looking back one last time
before the door closed.
When I saw that boy smile at me I felt a tickle in the middle of my
stomach and for a moment I forgot what I was doing. I could see the guys
now and my attention snapped back to the beach. T. J., Billy, and Cole,
they were my best buds. I've known them ever since moving here. WO! It's
been six years, that's the longest we ever stayed in one place. That's
good though cause I kinda liked it here.
Anyway, T. J. his name was Tim Johnson but he liked T. J. He was a little
older by six months 5ft.11in., 145lbs. with blonde hair shaved at the
sides, and the greenest eyes I've ever seen. T. J. was the big ladies man
of our little group, at least that 's what he keeps telling us. Then
there was Billy, he was a couple of inches taller than me and the same
age, he had me by a good ten pounds too, with mousy brown hair and blue
eyes. And Cole, fourteen also 5ft. 6in. with light blonde hair and blue
eyes. Cole was the one everybody's parents would say; "Did Cole talk you
into doing that?" You know. He just always looked like he was up to some
no good scheme. He had this years record at school for detention, 83
days. WOW!!!
When they saw me coming, I jogged over saying, "Hey, what's up?" There I
go, dazzling them with my brilliant oratory.
"We've been waiting fifteen minutes, what's the hold up?" T. J.
countered.
"Shit, you know my Dad, gotta finish the stuff around the house before I
can take off." I returned.
Then Cole, "Man he works you to death, lets go, it's getting hot."
"Oh, he's OK He's just real busy in the summer. It is a resort you know."
This would go on all the time, when ever we were together we would argue
about nothing. It was all in good fun too and we always just shrugged it
off. But today T. J. just would not let up. he kept on and on about me
being late for the beach.
Well, it wasn't long before we turned down the path to the far end of the
beach. All the way T. J. was ragging on me for taking so long. Finally I
had just had enough and said, "Fuck man, give it up, no body said you had
to wait for me!" God! T. J. was all right really, but he could drive you
freaking crazy. I don't know why but for some reason I thought about
that boy holding the door to the restaurant.
Well, this is what life boils down to around here. The cool ocean edged
by a white sand expanse, and covered end to end by people wearing as
little as they could get away with. I know, it sounds great, but being
fourteen, it can be a very trying experience, to sit on a beach full of
very close to naked people. Standing up off your towel without showing
the world you had a raging hard on was getting to be a fine art. Thank
goodness for Frisbees hehehe.
When we finally topped the low dune at the end of the shortcut we came up
on our goal. First day of summer vacation at the beach the. Leave it to
T. J. though, we weren't there five minutes and he spots a small gaggle
of girls together four of them, and heads right for them, spreads out his
towel and makes himself right at home.
T. J. never had any problem getting his point across when it came to
meeting girls. And within one and a half minutes we knew their names,
where they were from, where they were staying. Like T. J. says though,
can't waste any time, vacation is only for a week!
Billy and Cole staked out their claim pretty fast too. And as usual I
moped along trying my best not to let on that I didn't want to be
bothered with a girlfriend. What I really wanted was, well, umm, a
.....OH. Never mind!
Shit! I hate this, there is still one left and I'm gonna have to go and
talk to her. Damn, I really didn't want any part of this! But I also
didn't want to feel different from my friends, so I went over and
introduced my self.
Her name was Stacey, and she was from Boston, she and her Family were
staying at the Cove for three weeks. She was kinda nice, I mean for a
girl. She was the same age as me and about the same height. And she had
long blonde hair, nice blue eyes, and I have to admit a great smile.
Well, if I have to do this, she al least might as well be pretty.
WHOA!!! Did she say the Cove! Shit! Why does this shit always happen to
me? Well, might as well get it over with. "Stacey, I live there too, my
Dad runs the place." I tried to smile at her, but I think I could tell
that she could tell that I knew that she knew that my heart was not
really in this whole primitive teenage dating ritual thingy.
"Ya, my Dad bought us three weeks in one of those time sharing things, I
wish Daddy could've come, he said he'll be here on the weekends. But for
now it's just me and my Mom and my brother."
"You have a brother, that must be cool, it's only me and Dad at home."
What was I doing, if I'm not more careful everybody will start thinking
I'm a, a, umm .a,.. forget it...
"Oh him! he's a geek!"
"Well, I don't know about that, I just thought it would be kinda good to
have a brother." All of a sudden I got the feeling that I'd seen her
before. What do they call it, OH, Yea, De Ja Vous? Spooky.
"Well, if you want him you can have him."
WO! What a bitch I thought to myself, he is only a brother. Must be a
sibling thing. All I could say to that was, "Well, whatever." I put on my
head phones and turned up the volume. Stacey pulled out a pair of phones
herself and I let her plug into the auxiliary output. At least with the
Discman between us it will keep her away, I thought to myself.
After a little while the guys got up to go into the water and the girls
weren't far behind. Stacey got up and stood there waiting for me to go
with her, but I pretended I didn't notice. after a minute she went off to
join her friends and mine. And I turned to watch the guys trying their
best to cop a feel, and the girls trying to let on they didn't like it.
This tease thing made me sick!
I try to like girls, I don't want to be different! I just am, it's who I
am, what I am. I try, they just don't do anything for me. When I look
down the beach I see all the young guys, I don't even notice the girls.
At night, late, I think about what it would be like to be with a guy. I'd
think about him sucking my dick, and make believe my hand was his hot
mouth. Dreaming about giving him what I was dreaming he was giving me.
And that dream would bring me over the edge every time. Alone.
I looked down the beach and was lost in a sea of tight wet cutoffs and
Speedos, when all of a sudden I felt a shock course through my entire
body. Stacey poured a cup of icy cold water on my back. Instantly I was
on my feet yelling, "What the Fu---!" I caught my self just in time, and
then added, "What did you do that for, God! Look at this! SHIT!!!"
While I picked up the new Discman I had just gotten for my birthday and
tried to shake the salt water out, Stacey stopped laughing and came over
to see if she could help, "Kevin. Oh, I'm sorry I never meant to get your
player wet. I'm really sorry."
All I managed to hear was "get your player wet" and I shot her a glare
that would scratch glass. Of course she immediately sat down on her towel
and started crying. Damn, why do girls always have to cry to cover up the
stupid shit they do?!?
I told her it was all right, just to shut her up really. But it wasn't
all right, I was pissed! This is turning out to be one great summer if I
have to put up with Stacey for three freaking weeks.
How do I get myself into these freaking messes?!?
Soon, the guys came back to get their towels and said they were going to
the movies tonight and asked if WE'D like to go too. All of a sudden the
crying in the background stopped.
I would like to know how me, suddenly turned into WE, was I just fucking
cloned or something. I could feel Stacey's eyes burning into my back as
she waited for an answer. All I could say was , "I dunno, I think my Dad
wants me to do something." It was a pretty lame excuse, but what the
hell, I didn't have a lot of notice to think of a better one. I guess
I'll have to make a mental note to file a few away for future use in an
emergency.
T. J. said he'd call the theater to see who was working tonight, and have
them save some seats. When you live in a place like this you have to
learn a few of the basic survival skills. 1. Learn all the short cuts
through town, the stupid tourists only know the main roads. 2. Get to
know the dude that is in charge, that means movie theaters, goofy golf,
bowling alley, sports center. You know, the important contacts that a kid
needs to make dealing with the tourismos at least bearable.
It was getting on close to 2:00 pm. and everybody figured to go home and
get ready and eat and stuff before heading to the Cineplex. We all
gathered up our beach gear and headed back toward the resort.
Why do girls always insist on walking empty handed? You think they might
break a nail or something, NO couldn't have that! Not at all!!
When we got to the Cove, everybody split up to lug their DATES shit home
for them. I didn't want to look like an ass hole so I asked what bungalow
she was staying in. At least I might get a chance to meet this brother of
hers. That thought put a bit of a spring into my step, and I guess Stacey
took it as some sort of a sign or something, "Kevin, are you sure you
can't go to the movies, it'd be just too much fun???" in a sweet tone
that wanted to make me puke.
All I could think to say was, "Maybe next time, I have chores to do," It
was an out and out lie and I kind of regretted saying it, but what's done
is done, whatever. We got to her door and she got out her key and let us
in. I put her bag down in the little kitchen and turned to leave. I
hadn't seen anything of her brother so I figured I'd just head on home.
Stacey offered a cold drink, and I figured I carried her stuff home I'd
might as well get something out of all this. I sat on a stool by the
breakfast bar and opened my Pepsi. After a few minutes Stacey broke the
silence, "Maybe if I asked your Dad if you could go he'd let you?"
What the hell was this, a cry of desperation! I said, "No, I don't think
so, I don't want him to think I'm using the guests, you know, to get out
of my work." Good one, nice save!! Throw a little guilt back her way.
I was finishing up my drink and getting up to leave, when the door swung
open and in walked Stacey's brother. Once again, the chin hit the floor,
it was the boy from earlier, at the restaurant. And SHIT!! With the
exception of the addition and subtraction of a couple of basic anatomical
parts and the length of the hair, brother and sister were identical.
Kyle threw his towel on a chair and I was treated to the sweetest smile
I'd ever set my eyes on. He was the same height as me, and just beginning
to develop a nice little baby six pack, He had the same blonde hair as
his sister, and the bluest eyes. Stacey coldly made introductions gave
her brother the two minute version of my life history and he extended his
hand. "Kyle" was all he'd said. I slowly shook his hand and was drawn
into those sapphire eyes. I probably held his hand a little too long, and
caught my self with a start, saying, "I'm Kevin, nice to meet you." Then
to change this mood I quickly added, "Swimming huh, the pool is OK but I
like the beach better."
Kyle smiled again, and I saw a perfect set of teeth framed by soft red
lips, he said, "I just wanted a quick swim. So you live around here?"
"Yea, my Dad manages the place, I live at the far end." And pointed to
the end of the parking lot.
"Cool. Maybe you could show me this beach sometime?"
"Ya, no problem, any time you want."
"I'll bet you do all right, living in a place like this." Kyle's smile
grew even wider.
"Well, you know." I wasn't sure what Kyle was getting at, he had a grin
that was really hard to read. "I'd better be getting home, my Dad is
expecting me." I headed for the door and Kyle followed me out one pace
behind. I turned and asked, "What's up?"
Kyle faltered a bit, then, "I, um, I was just going to ask ya, um, what
there is to do around here at night?"
I told him, "At night, well, there is the Captains Cove golf, and the
arcade and sports center over on the west end, the pool and the beach.
That's about it." WHOA! I'd never noticed it before, there aint shit to
do around here!
" d' ya wanna hit the beach after dinner? Oh, umm,,, well never mind you
prolly have something to do already anyhow."
'NO! What I mean is, I'm not really doing anything tonight, the beach
might be fun." I think I might have answered a little too fast, but I
didn't think Kyle seemed to notice. I headed for home, turning back I
hollered, "Meet me at the gate at 7:00 OK."
Kyle said he'd be there. He had a big smile on his face. I wonder if
he....nah!
When I got home the first thing I did was head for the shower. I striped
down and turned on the water. After a minute it was plenty hot and I
stepped in. I just stood there letting the hot water course over my young
body. I adjusted the shower head, and it now pulsed over me, drilling
into me like needles. So far this day sucked! This was a bad sign, the
first day of vacation and it's a bomb!
I thought about Kyle looking into my eyes and my cock instantly sprung to
life, I soaped up my hand then leaned back and let the spray fall over
the throbbing head of my dick. Closing my eyes I formed an image of him
going down on my pole and stroked it for all I was worth. The thought of
Kyle sucking me off was all I needed and in record time I was painting
the far wall of the shower with my cum. I leaned there for a few moments
holding the memory of Kyle. Then I washed and got out. Standing in front
of the mirror I tried to compare myself with Kyle. He was a little more
developed than me and I thought to myself how great it would to hold his
firm body against mine. To feel his breath against my cheek, to taste
those rose colored lips.......
All of a sudden my day dreaming came slamming back into my brain when I
heard a holler, "Kevin!?"
That was my Dad, too much in a hurry, like all the time. My Dad really is
pretty cool though. He tried his best to be both Dad and Mom to me. We
hardly ever argued, and when we did, it was always over stupid shit, like
*It's your turn to empty the dishwasher, Or clean up your room* you know,
parental type shit, and we'd always end up laughing about the whole
thing. Yup, everything considered, I guess I'm pretty lucky to have him.
I only wish we had more time to do stuff. And in the summer, I hardly
ever see him. We usually communicate through a bulletin board on the
front of the fridge, Dad says there is no chance of missing a note there,
hehehe. What can I say I'm a growing boy.
I wrapped a towel around myself and poked my head out, "I'm in the
shower, Dad, I'll be right out." I quickly dried myself and slipped on a
pair of boxers and cargo pants. Still working my hair with the towel I
went out to see what he wanted. "Hi Dad, wudya want?"
"Kevin, good, there you are, what have you been up to today?"
"Oh, nothing much, finished up around here and then we hit the beach."
"Well, there's something I'd like to talk over with you. I've been
thinking, maybe it's time you start earning some of your own spending
money. You start bussing in the dinning room first thing in the morning."
WHOA!!! Some *talk over*. Man, this is turning out just freaking great! I
thought to myself, then saying, "Cool Dad, how many hours a week?" I
tried to sound enthusiastic but failed miserably.
"What's this Kevin, I thought you'd like the idea? It'll only be about
twenty hours a week, for the breakfast shift. $5.50 an hour plus a share
of the tips. It'll be good for you, you'll see."
"No. It's OK, really Dad, I don't mind as long as it IS the breakfast
shift." I forced a smile, trying to look absolutely desolate, but he
didn't budge, I could tell when he was on one of his it's for your own
good moods. Oh well this might not be too bad at that. It would be more
than one hundred bucks a week! I might like working.
"OK then it's settled, your uniforms are in the locker room, pick them up
later, or change there your choice. Kevin, you'll like it, it's good when
you earn your own pocket money, and if it gets to be too much we'll talk,
OK."
That's my Dad, always knows what's best for me. I'd have to admit though,
he's usually right. I decided I'd try to make him proud of me, "No really
Dad, I'll be fine. Maybe I could ask the guys, they might want to make
some scratch too?"
Dad gave me one of those *I'm proud of you Kevin smiles* then asked,
"Would you mind getting dinner in the dining room tonight Kevin? I have a
late meeting with some clients."
"No Dad, It's OK." I answered then added, "The kid in C155, his name is
Kyle, asked if I'd show him the beach later, OK?"
"Sure, just don't be out too late, work in the morning, remember. And you
had better set your alarm before you go, so you don't forget. Oh and tell
your friends to go to the personnel office, I'll let them know. Just tell
them not to expect any special treatment, if they are here to work, then
they work, OK"
"Right Dad I'll tell em." Dad went back to his room to get changed for
his meeting and I hollered back telling him I was going now. I guess
that's why he gets the big bucks, never leaves anything to chance.
Parentals, gotta love em. I went back to my room and put on an
Abercrombie shirt and threw some jell in my hair and headed out for
something to eat. As I walked down the path to the dining room, my mind
wandered back to the boy I had just met. Kyle, nice name I thought, and
that smile, it was etched into my memory, I'll never forget it.
The place was starting to fill up with all sorts of people. The tennis
courts looked busy as usual and the pool was packed. lots of people just
coming and going. I took the long way to the dining room, hoping I'd get
a chance to see Kyle one more time, I could look at him all day long.
But, I didn't have any luck, so I meandered over to the kitchen. The
cooks all knew me and I got along pretty well with all of the staff.
Tony, he was the souse chef *what the hell is a souse*, anyway, he was
the souse chef and he was a good friend. Of all the Kitchen help he was
there the longest. As long as Dad and I have been here.
"Hey Tony, the Dad said I have to eat here tonight. Got anything made
today. hehe"
He shot me a look and hit me in the head with a radish, "There I made
that today." He said laughing.
Tony was really cool, and he really knew how to make a burger.
"The usual then, Kevin?"
"Ya please, with fries. Thanks Tony."
"OK in a minute, I have something on the stove now."
He went back to the dishes he was working on and in a few minutes had it
all plated and out the door. Tony was the best, he could make mud taste
good.
"Tony, I'll eat it on the bench out back OK." It took him no time at all
and, I was sitting on the bench the help kept for smoking. Burger, fries,
Pepsi, kids heaven. I ate slowly, just picking really, I just could not
get the image if Kyle out of my head.
After eating about half of my dinner I brought me plate in and scraped it
into the slop bucket.
Tony came over and said, "Kevin, what's the matter you sick or something?
Something wrong with the food? Do you want me to fix you something else?"
He was something else, I answered, "No I'm fine man really, I just have
something on my mind is all." Tony put down his spatula and came over to
me saying, "Are you OK? You know you can talk to me anytime Kevin."
"I know Tony, but this is something I have to try and work out my self."
I said.
"Well, if you change your mind, you know where to find me."
"OK Tony, thanks, I know."
I turned waving good bye and went to wait by the gate. I looked at the
clock in the security shack, 6:35. Shit I've got a half hour to wait, I
thought silently to my self.
I made myself comfortable on the wall and let my mind wander. I could
just imagine Kyle, walking across the lawn by the courts and pool, intent
on one thing, walking straight towards me, I could hear his voice saying
in that sexy young teen voice "Kevin," over and over I could hear Kyle
saying my name "Kevin," he would put his strong hand on my shoulder and
ever so gently.................."DUDE, KEVIN! Shit man wake up"
WHOA! Back to reality! "Hey Kyle your early man!"
"Yea, well it looks like you're even earlier." Kyle countered, then said,
"Lets check out this beach." He flashed that smile of his again.
We headed down Rt. 28 to South Sea Ave. and then to Seagull Beach Rd. All
the way we talked about school, and music, and the latest video games,
Kyle talked about his home town, and the basketball team, and his new
mountain bike, and he talked about all the things a fourteen year old
talks about, almost. I told him about living at the Cove and on the Cape,
about the guys, and school, and the new job. you know, stuff.
Then, I asked if he had a girl back home. Kyle looked at me and said
almost defensively, "No, I don't! Why do you want to know that!"
"Dude, just asking is all." I got the impression there was more to this,
but I let it drop.
We got to the gate of the rear entrance and walked down the foot path. Up
the small hill and then to the beach. This was the dinner hour and the
beach was deserted. We walked down to the water and I kicked off my
trainers and pulled off my sox stuffing them into my shoes. Tying a fast
knot I slung them onto a shoulder.
I let the gentle wavelets wash over my toes, and the water was warm,
soothing. I loved the beach in the evening, it was always so quiet,
peaceful. Kyle pulled his shoes and sox off too and joined me by the
shore. We walked for a time, not saying anything, just enjoying the
serenity of the moment.
After a time Kyle stopped and turned to me saying, "I was seeing someone
back home, It didn't work out." I looked at him waiting for him to
continue, but Kyle just looked at the water, not saying any more.
"I'm sorry, man." I didn't know what else to say. This was all new to me.
I walked to Kyle and put a hand on his shoulder, and it was then I
realized he was quietly crying to himself. "Kyle, I know we'd just met
and all, but if ya wanna talk." Kyle looked at me and broke into full
blown sobs. I pulled him to me and tried to comfort him as best I could.
And then Kyle told me. Everything. "Kevin, I don't know how to say it!"
he began.
"It's OK, just tell me. You'll feel better if you talk about it."
Kyle hesitated, as if bracing himself for something, "It wasn't a girl."
"What do you mean?" I said. Then after a split second, it hit me DUH!!!!
"It was a, a, a .....", and Kyle sobbed more than before...
"I know. Kyle it's all right, I know how you feel......."
"How could you know how I feel!" Kyle sobbed, then, "I,,,I,,,,I'm..." And
he cried.
Kyle slowly drained all the tears from his body and I held him, slowly
rubbing my hands up and down his back. Into his ear I whispered, "It's
all right, your not alone, I'm here."
We walked over to one of the lifeguard chairs and sat on one of the
rails. We sat there for a long while. Not saying a word. The sun had set,
and still we sat there.
I reached an arm over and slid it up his back to come to rest on his
shoulder. As I pulled him close to comfort him, I said, "I'm here
now........."
