The Keys to the Kingdom
Chapter 5: Jack

Jack was putting up a good front for his mother but behind the happy façade
he was miserable. His father's career in the Air Force had required him to
say goodbye to friends before and he'd always been a good little soldier
and never complained. Now things were different. His father had already
left for Germany, his mother was overseeing the sale of their home on Cape
Cod and soon he'd be coming to live with us. He missed his girlfriend
already and felt this situation was truly unfair, he'd put up with all the
moves in the past but couldn't they at least let him finish high school in
the same place he'd started?

At least he wasn't moving to Germany Jack thought to himself. He'd been so
happy when his parents had told him he wouldn't have to go; he assumed he'd
be staying with another Air Force family, friends of his parents. His
happiness was short lived when his parents explained that he'd be moving to
Connecticut to live with me, Cam and the boys and starting at a new school
full of uptight rich kids. Still, it beat moving to Germany and being
stuck in an Air Force school or trying to attend a local school when he
didn't speak the language. He had always liked Cam and I and he got on
well with the boys so that part shouldn't be too bad.

Jack was in a particularly foul mood as he packed up his bedroom. His
girlfriend had broken up with him the night before. Cindy had taken a job
as a junior counselor at a summer camp in Maine and had left this morning;
she'd decided to call it off with Jack after their date last night. He had
hoped that she'd at least try having a long distance relationship with him
but she was fairly adamant that this was the end. Whatever, screw her, he
thought to himself.

Jack's mood perked up a little bit when he caught a glimpse of himself in
the mirror. He'd turned 16 in April and he thought he was pretty good
looking. He had brown hair with natural blond highlights kept short
because his dad would never let him grow it out. His eyes were a soft
hazel and his 5'10" frame was nicely proportioned. Jack wasn't overly
athletic but he did love to play baseball and he kept in shape so that he'd
be able to play in the spring. As he admired his reflection he tried to
look on the bright side, maybe some rich girl at his new school would fall
for him and he'd never have to work. He laughed at the thought and started
putting clothes into his suitcase.

"Jack, I'm home," Whitney called out to him when she walked in the door.

She'd been out at the Volvo dealer selling her car; they'd bought it for
their previously owned department. Of course they didn't offer near what
it was worth but the cost and time involved with shipping it to Europe made
selling it the best option. She'd picked up a rental car and would be
returning that after she dropped Jack off at his uncles and caught her
flight to Frankfurt. She'd also picked up some Chinese takeout and the two
sat on boxes in the dining room to eat. The last of the furniture had been
picked up this morning and would be on a boat bound for the port of Hamburg
in a day or so. Moving overseas left a lot of loose ends to tie up.

"Is your room all packed?" Whitney asked, "I'd like to leave before noon
tomorrow."

"Yes," he sighed.

"Something the matter sweetheart?" she inquired.

"No I'm fine," Jack insisted.

"Jack I can tell when something's bothering you," she informed him, "this
could be my last chance to mother you for a while, why don't you tell me
what's wrong?"

"It's this whole move," he said, "I don't want to move to Germany, I don't
want to move to Connecticut and I don't want to start a new school."

"I know it's not fair to you sweetheart," Whitney said calmly, "the Air
Force has asked a lot of your father and you've had to put up with him
being gone and with us moving you from post to post. But this will be the
last move you ever have to make and I promise you your uncle's will take
good care of you."

"I'm not worried about living with Uncle Brenden and Uncle Cam," Jack
explained, "I just don't want to go. Why can't I stay here and finish
school, couldn't I stay with Major Fisher and her family?"

"The Fisher's are moving to Florida in a month or we would have considered
that," Whitney explained, "the problem with leaving you with any of our
friends here is that they could be subject to a move at anytime just like
us. What would you do if we left you somewhere and then you had to move
during your senior year?"

"I didn't know about the Fisher's," Jack grumped, "and I hadn't thought
about anyone else having to move."

"Your father asked Uncle Brenden to take you in so that you'd have time to
make new friends," she informed him, "and the school you'll be attending is
one of the best in the country."

"It's full of rich kids, what if they don't like me?" Jack asked.

"Well sweetheart I know we're not the Kennedy's but you're not exactly
destitute either. You're dads a colonel in the Air Force and with any luck
he'll be a general some day, that's no small accomplishment."

That brought a smile to Jack's face. Though he resented having to move so
often as a boy, he'd always been proud of his father. He loved it when his
dad would take him to the base and show him the projects he was working on.
He liked to see the airmen salute his father; he learned quickly that the
old man was someone to be respected.

"...besides, your uncle is the headmaster, I'm sure the other kids will
treat you just fine," his mother continued.

They didn't talk about it anymore that night. They talked about the new
house in Germany that his father had set up, they talked about the drive to
Connecticut and they made sure Whitney had her passport and ticket for when
she departed. Jack was feeling better when he went up to his room, maybe
Connecticut won't be so bad.

Jack got up early the next morning and started loading his things into the
rented minivan. He wanted to show his mother that he was done moping about
and was ready, no matter how reluctantly, to start this new chapter in his
life. The real estate agent arrived at the house at 11:30 and Jack waited
in the car while his mom signed the final paperwork then handed over the
keys.

Traffic was sparse and the drive through Rhode Island and most of
Connecticut had gone quickly. Whitney and Jack arrived at our house just
in time for dinner. We wanted to make them feel as welcome as possible so
my parents came over to join us and my dad even manned the grill to prepare
some of his famous steaks. The boys raced out the door to greet Jack and
to hug their Aunt Whitney. Cam and I each gave Jack a hug and told him how
glad we were to have him staying with us. The last thing we wanted was for
him to think he'd be a burden on our household or that we were just taking
him in out of family loyalty. That was hardly the case, Jack has always
been a great kid and we thought he'd be a good influence on Ethan and
Nicky.

While grandpa was tending to dinner, Cam and I took Whitney and Jack up to
the guest room.

"Whitney you'll be sleeping here tonight and Jack you'll have to bunk with
Ethan," I explained, "this will be your room once your mom heads out."

"Sorry about all the boxes," Cam apologized, "We're getting ready for the
big move out to Wallingford and this is the only place we've got to store
anything."

"Oh trust me its fine," said Whitney, "we've moved enough to know how that
goes, right Jacker's?"

"Oh mom, do you have to call me that?" Jack moaned.

"Sorry sweetie but you'll always be my wittle boy," his mom teased.

Jack just rolled his eyes.

"We're glad to have you here Jack," I said, changing the subject, "we're
hoping that you can help Nicky and Ethan get ready for the move with all
your experience."

"Sure Uncle Brenden, if there is one thing I know, it's how to pack," Jack
smiled.

I gave him a pat on the shoulder and then we heard grandpa calling us down
to dinner. We enjoyed the meal, that old man is a wizard when it comes to
the grill. The food was great and Whitney shared a lot of information with
us about their new posting in Germany. Brian had sent her pictures of the
town and of the new house they would be living in. She made it a point to
tell us how much they were going to miss Jack but that they were also
looking forward to the opportunities living in Europe would offer. I think
she was trying to set Jack's mind at ease; she didn't want him to feel like
he was being dumped off while she and his father went gallivanting around
Europe.

After dinner the boys helped Jack move his things temporarily into Ethan's
room. We'd placed him there because Ethan had a full sized bed and we
thought Jack would be more comfortable sleeping there then on the couch.
Nicky and Ethan were excited to have Jack with us and happily helped him
with his things.

"You didn't bring much with you," Ethan commented.

"It's mostly just clothes," Jack agreed, "we got rid of most of my
furniture and the important stuff is going to Germany with my parents."

"Sorry you have to room with me for now," Ethan apologized.

"It's no big deal," Jack answered good naturedly, "it's only for a few
days, it'll be like camp."

"Not a big deal, huh?" Nicky asked, "wait until you hear Ethan snore, it's
worse than Debbie."

"Shut up doofus," Ethan said, slapping Nicky in the back of the head.

Jack laughed at their antics and the boys smiled back at him when Whitney
came in to say good night.

"All squared away in here?" she asked.

"Yeah mom, I got all my stuff out of the van," Jack informed her.

"Well, it's getting late for me, I'm going to turn in," she announced.

She kissed Jack on the check.

"Goodnight Jackers, goodnight boys," she said as she left the room.

"Hehehe, Jackers," Nicky giggled.

"Oh think that's funny do ya?" Jack asked in mock anger, then pounced on
Nicky and started to tickle him.

"What's up guys?" I asked as Cam and I came into the room.

"Nicky hear thought it was funny when my mom called me Jackers," Jack
explained, "so I thought I'd give him something to laugh at."

"Causing trouble already huh?" Cam asked Nicky, "Come here you, its bed
time."

Cam grabbed Nicky and carried him out of the room over his shoulder. We
heard Nicky shrieking a few seconds later so I figured Cam must have
resumed the tickle torture. I made sure Jack had everything he needed then
I gave him a hug and kissed Ethan on the forehead before wishing them a
good night.

"It is pretty late, I think I'm going to get some sleep too," Jack
announced.

He started taking off his clothes and was soon in just his socks and boxer
briefs. Ethan couldn't help but stare; Jack had a nice body and from what
Ethan could see a cute butt. Ethan was further impressed when Jack turned
around and he got a look at the nice bulge in his shorts. He had to stop
himself from staring before Jack noticed.

"Do you need me to help you find you're pajamas in all of this stuff?"
Ethan asked, gesturing to the bags and boxes.

"No I'm just going to sleep like this if you don't mind," said Jack.

"No problem," muttered Ethan.

The idea of sleeping next to the hot teenager in just his underwear was
causing Ethan's cock to stir. He decided to grab a quick shower before
turning in so that he'd be able to relieve himself. Ethan and Nicky had
curbed their sexual experimentation after I'd walked in on them. Even
though we'd given them permission to explore, they were a little gun shy
from having been caught. They had fooled around some this morning while
Cam and I had run to the grocery store but it was to brief to be that
satisfying.

After his climax, Ethan cleaned off then got ready for bed. He climbed in
next to Jack and got another good look at his package before turning out
the lights.

Ethan was a little disoriented when he woke up, he felt Jack's arms and
legs curled around him and felt his hard morning wood pressing against his
bottom. Jack was a bit of a cuddler and sometime in the night he'd wrapped
himself around Ethan. Ethan wasn't complaining, he liked being in Jack's
arms and enjoyed the feeling of his hard cock pressing into him. All too
soon Jack woke up and extricated himself from Ethan. When Ethan rolled
over Jack was already out of bed and stretching with a yawn. Ethan's eyes
were drawn to the tent in Jack's underwear caused by his morning wood.

"Sorry," Jack blushed when he noticed Ethan staring, "you know, mornings."

Ethan nodded his understanding and watched Jack bend over to pull a fresh
tee shirt, shorts and underwear from his bag. Jack disappeared into the
bathroom and as soon as he heard the shower running Ethan practically
ripped his underwear off so he could jerk the boner Jack had given him.

Ethan finished up just as Jack was finishing his shower. He grabbed his
own fresh clothes and when Jack came out of the bathroom Ethan slipped in
before anyone might figure out what he'd been doing. When Ethan finished
his shower he and Jack made their way downstairs and joined the rest of us
for breakfast.

Cam and I had a little outing planned for today and it worked out well that
Whitney had rented a minivan; we wouldn't have to take two cars. We drove
out to Wallingford so that we could give Whitney and the kids a tour of the
academy. I thought each of the boys would feel more comfortable about the
move once they saw where we'd be living and I wanted Whitney to know that
Jack would be in good hands as well.

Bartlett Academy is near the center of Wallingford, the school was built in
the late 1800's and the town continued to grow around it. The school had
facilities for everything you could imagine, from excellent gym and
athletic facilities to a state of the art performing arts center and a
library that rivaled most colleges. The grounds were immaculately
manicured and the buildings were a mix of the Colonial, Georgian and Modern
style. Anything the campus couldn't provide was readily available in town
and was usually in walking distance. I explained that the students were
allowed off campus on the weekends to shop in town or just to grab a meal
that wasn't from the dining hall.

I showed the boys the dormitories where most of the students would live and
explained that each dorm also had an apartment for a teacher and his or her
family who were responsible for the boys and girls assigned to that
building. We went by the dining hall next and I explained that we would
take most of our meals there with the students as the school was a close
nit community and did its best to provide the students with a sense of
family while they were away from home.

The kids grimaced at the thought of eating at the dining hall three times a
day but I assured them that it wasn't your standard cafeteria food. The
academy chef's outdid themselves providing a rich variety of foods that
were prepared with expert attention. Meals were served either family or
buffet style depending on the occasion and there was a wide enough
selection for even the most picky eater, fortunately we didn't have any of
those in our family.

Our last stop on the tour was in front of the headmaster's house. I wanted
to show the boys where we'd be living but didn't disturb the current
headmaster who wouldn't be leaving until June. I think everyone was duly
impressed with the large Georgian style manse that we'd be calling home. I
told the boys that they'd have to make sure they kept the ground floor
clean at all times because you never knew when we might be having an
important visitor, that was part of the reason why the academy provided
this home for its headmaster, to entertain visiting dignitaries. There
would be a housekeeper to help us out but I didn't want the boys getting
lazy. Each of the boys would have his own room so any mess needed to be
contained there.

"So what do you think sweetie?" Whitney asked Jack when we'd gotten back in
the van.

"It was really nice, I wasn't exactly sure what to expect," he admitted.

"It sure seemed quiet," Ethan added.

"That will change when you and that beast you play move in," Nicky joked.

"Are you disrespecting my cello?" Ethan retorted.

"Nope, just the way you play it," Nicky grinned.

"Hmph, philistine," Ethan scoffed.

"I'm glad to be moving out of the city," Cam offered, "I think all that
fresh air is going to be good for you boys."

We drove around Wallingford for a bit then found a little sandwich shop to
have a late lunch. When we got back home Nicky and Ethan took off in their
own directions and Whitney announced she was taking Jack shopping. She
wanted to make sure he had all of the school clothes he needed before she
left. I gave her a list of the academy's dress code and reminded her that
during class the boys had to wear uniforms. I told her not to worry about
that, Cam and I would take care of Jack's uniforms when we went to buy
Ethan's. Nicky will be attending the junior high school in town so he
won't have to worry about uniforms for another two years. Whitney tried to
object but I told her that Cam and I would be happy to cover this cost as
our way of showing Jack that we were truly happy to have him with us. It
took a little convincing but she finally agreed.

With the house quiet Cam and I decided to kick back and watch a movie on
TV. We hadn't done this in a while and ended up falling asleep on the
couch. I'm not sure how long we would have slept but we never got the
chance to find out because Nicky woke us up a little after 5 to announce
that he was hungry. We looked in the fridge and thought about making a run
to the store but Whitney announced that she and Jack would like to take us
out to dinner as a thank you for taking him in. When we got the bill at
the restaurant I tried to slip the waiter my credit card but Whitney
wouldn't hear of it.

"If you think I'm going to let you pay for everything you're nuts, put that
credit card back in your wallet, I don't want to see it again tonight," she
commanded.

"Yes ma'am," I replied giving her my best salute.

I guess being married to an Air Force officer for nearly 20 years has
rubbed off on her; I practically stood at attention when she'd issued her
orders.

Once we settled in for the night the boy's picked out a DVD that Jack
hadn't seen and we settled in the family room to watch it. Nicky fell
asleep and when the movie was over Cam and I said our goodnights and
carried him up to bed. Whitney was next to go and shortly after she kissed
Jack goodnight he announced that he was tired as well. Ethan followed Jack
up to his room hoping to get another look at him in his underwear and Jack
didn't disappoint.

Jack stripped down to his black boxer briefs and hopped in bed; Ethan did
the same and shut the light off before climbing in next to Jack.

"Jack. Hey, Jack," Ethan called, checking to see if his cousin was asleep.

When there was no response Ethan reached over and put his hand on Jack's
stomach. The skin was soft like Nicky's but the muscles underneath felt
harder. Ethan moved his hand lower and traced the long tube that was Jacks
cock down to wear it rested on his balls. He cupped Jack's balls and
rubbed them slightly but soon Jack rolled over on his side and Ethan pulled
away. He felt up Jacks butt a little then rolled on his side and settled
in to sleep, content with the touching, for now.

In the morning Ethan rolled over and found himself looking at Jack's
morning wood once again. Jack's eyes met Ethan's and Jack winked at him
causing Ethan to blush. Jack grabbed fresh clothes and headed for the
shower.

After breakfast we got cleaned up and began the long drive to Kennedy
International Airport in New York City. We'd take Whitney to the airport
and Cam would follow in his car, we'd drop off her rental and have an early
dinner in the city with the boys.

Jack didn't say much on the hour drive into the city, I think the fact that
his mother was leaving him was starting to set in. When we got to the
airport we waited for Whitney to check her bags and then said our goodbyes.
I thought she and Jack might like a private moment alone so I told Cam to
take the van over to the rental agency and that Jack and I would pick him
and the boys up there. Once they had gone I suggested that Jack walk his
mom to the security checkpoint and that I'd wait for him at the coffee
stand.

"I want you to be good and listen to your uncles, work hard in school and
call or email your father and I at least once a week, ok," she asked.

"I will mom, I promise," Jack said, his voice cracking a little.

"Don't be sad my angel," Whitney said as she pulled him into a hug.

"You can call us anytime you need us and we'll see each other again before
you know it."

"I know," Jack croaked, "I'm just going to miss you, I love you mom."

"I love you to sweetheart, you're father and I are so proud of you."

Whitney held on as long as she could but soon she had to let him go in
order to make her flight. Jack wiped away his tears and gave his mother a
smile then watched her until he couldn't see her anymore. When he came
back to the coffee stand I could see he was upset so I wrapped my arms
tight around him and he sobbed into my chest. I didn't say anything I just
let him cry while I rubbed his back gently. When he finished I asked if he
was ok and he gave me a nod while he wiped his eyes.

"Thanks," he said as we made our way to the car.

"You know, back by the coffee stand, the hug," Jack explained.

"Nothing to thank me for, you were upset," I stated.

"Yeah, I knew I was going to miss my mom but I didn't think I'd cry like
that."

"I've seen grown men cry over leaving their mom's before, that's just the
affect they have on us," I told him.

"Still, thanks for the hug, that helped," Jack stated.

"Anytime you need a hug let us know, we love you Jack."

With that said we hopped in the car and made our way over to the rental
office to find Cam and the boys waiting out front. We took the boys out
for an early dinner in the city then headed home, it was a long drive and
by the time we got back no one had the energy to do much more then blob out
in front of the TV. Eventually Ethan and Jack moved Jack's things into the
guest room his mother had been using and then headed off to bed.

I thought the older pair had turned in a bit early but I knew the day had
been emotionally draining for Jack, not sure what was going on with Ethan.
Nicky stayed up and watched a movie with Cam and I but ended up falling
asleep between us. I like moments like this, when he's asleep and I have
to carry him to bed, in those moments it doesn't matter how big he's
getting or how mature he's becoming, he's still our baby.
